Incredible store for the board game addicts and fanatics! They have cheap, reasonable, and quite pricy board games. You can try a new cheap game, but Id definitely advise trying out one of the pricey options to get the real value of what pandemonium sells. Beware D&D fans, for the lure of mini figures and one of a kind sets of dice will grab you here!
Great hobby store - has been my location of choice for Magic: the Gathering since I started playing a decade ago. I cant speak for other hobbies, but the MTG community here is friendly and welcoming. Compared to other local game stores, prices are very reasonable.
This amazing community shop is far from the traditional stereotyped games store. Pandemonium Books and Games is an awesome little hangout spot that is amazingly inclusive. I spend time there at least once a day on my vacation to Boston.This place has everything you need, and especially if that is getting introduced to a nice community of staff and shoppers. Nowhere else has it been so clear to me that staff love their job than pandemonium games.
Clean and well stocked store - met four employees none of which asked if they could help find what I was looking for - stood in line waiting to check out behind customers searching for trading cards - gave up and left establishment. Great variety of hobby materials and supplies, but unfriendly staff.
Strict on covid regulations (positively). My favorite store around with plentiful resources and helpful friendly staff. Wish to have more time to spend on B floor to play some games with local community:) looking forward to be back :)

This place is the bees knees. Even as a lover of RPGs, board games, and card games— every time I leave I feel like I’ve learned something new. Shout out to Eddie who taught us a college class’s worth of information on MTG in ten minutes— he’s great! My go-to for the hobby.

Just a quick shout out to the Pandemonium staff, especially Ben. I totally boofed an order and Ben was able to fix my mistakes and I got order in the mail ASAP! This level of service really expands the definition of favorite local game store by miles and miles. Even if you cannot make it in to Cambridge, dont be shy about online ordering - this shop has their act together.
Very well organized, clean game store that also has a substantial book selection. Carries a lot of non-mainstream RPGs along with the more popular titles. Extensive board game collection and great miniature selection (SW, GW, Reaper and Wizkids).

The basement is where the magic is, theres so much more to this quaint looking shop and its a fantastic place to grab not less than 100 dollars worth of board games and expansions. (Speaking from experience)
This is the best hobby shop Ive been to in Massachusetts and Rhode island. They have a huge selection of roleplaying games and miniatures, not just dnd 5e stuff. They also have a large collection of board games, card games, puzzles and other side products and a selection of science fiction and fantasy books. This store really has it all.

Have been very aggressively price gouging since the beginning of the pandemic with online card orders. They also do not give you prices on each card when you get your order. I will never shop here again. They are a complete rip off

I came here looking for a holiday gift and found a great selection. They have games for the casual board gamer all the way to the die hard fans.The clerk there was extremely knowledgeable and was very helpful to me and the few other people who were there as well.The space wasnt crowded, and there was hand sanitizer at the door so it felt covid safe as well.
Bigger than it looks, have most if not all the stuff I was looking for.
Even though with limited space there are plenty of books, games, and hobby materials that can purchased and is wheel chair accessible.

They basically have everything fun-and-games you could possibly be looking for. Lots of board and card games, as well as books and sets. Also have a refrehsment fridge, where you can buy cream soda. Lower level is cool for a pick-up game or to try a new board game your on the fence about!!! Nice community aspect.
Probably the best LGS in Greater Boston. Normally staff is super friendly and helpful. There is a shorter manager with a buzz cut that is super helpful and sociable. Definitely like to chit chat with him when I stop by, and there is a lady who normally is on register who is honestly one of the sweetest people. Super nice. Pandemonium has a great selection of RPG stuff too.I go here quite frequently to purchase MTG cards and merch and I had a pretty unpleasant encounter with one of the workers. I went in a couple months ago to purchase a Zendikar Rising booster box and collectors box and I grabbed a loose cards cardboard box from the cabinet. When I noticed it was broken I tried to put it back and grab another one and 15 or so boxes fell on top of me. The worker at the time (Friday night ~3pm) flipped out on me and accused me of trying to steal the cardboard box... as I was spending close to $500 bucks on merch in the store. I bought my stuff and left, but that interaction left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. Ive been back to purchase card boxes for Commander Legends and whatnot, but I still get anxious wondering if that guy is going to snap at me again.For that reason I give this store 5 stars.

This place offers the best and most diverse tabletop experience in the immediate Boston area. Tucked in a corner close to some of Cambridges best eateries and shopping, they run tons of events for a wide variety of games. If youre in town and need a Magic: the Gathering fix, Pandemonium has got you covered.Really the 5-star rating is due to my experience with their Magic card buyer. They will deal for anything from in-demand playables to the rarest of oddities. They are fair, honest, and straightforward.
Best book and game shop Ive ever encountered. Dont expect a Barnes and Noble sort of selection, but the staff is incredible, they offer unique and consistent events, and where else would you want to play Magic: the Gathering?The last question was rhetorical.
Fun and awesome store to go to. The only thing is the downstairs doesnt always smell the best but its understandable. Its a small crowded area so it can get hot easily. The game selection is vast and they typically always have the expansions as well. All in all a really fun place to get together with friends or just to go and pick up any games or cards you need/want.
I needed a board game for a Christmas gift, and called up Pandemonium after an exhaustive search. They not only had it in stock, but were willing to ship it to my destination. First time going in and I was amazed. Every board game you can imagine, and more. Really helpful staff. I asked for a good game for two people about to travel. They offered up a lot of games that I didnt know about and the staff were able to give a break down of each game. I feel like I made a good decision based on their advice.

A two story game store...which is unusual and a gem, especially when you see all the tables set up for gaming events in the basement. That said, I feel like there was a massive rush on games recently as a lot of shelves were scarce and the selection had a lot of potential...but there needs to be more variety, much more!!! And maybe less books on the first floor 😇

This place is a gem. A great selection of books, board games, rpgs, cards and comics. I was impressed by the selection of new and sometimes difficult to find boardgames. Great basement play space is an added bonus. Definitely check this out if youre in the area.
This is a great local game shop. Has (mostly) attentive staff who seem to enjoy at least some aspects of the shop. Attended a MTG tournament and it was well run with a friendly judge and players. They carry good quality products and keep the prices reasonable enough that I shop here rather than Amazon. Recommend without reservation.

Just walked out, not coming back.I attend a recurring event in the area, and have stopped by pandemonium twice now.The first time, I dropped maybe a hundred dollars, and made a note of what Id buy next time.Next time, I had a hard time finding the stuff they had before, and couldnt get help. Half the employees seemed to be hanging out, having conversations.Fine.I waited in a long line to the register, only to have other customers ushered ahead of us to conclude whatever business they had.Okay.When I get to the front of the line, and ask my question, the employee pauses **in the middle of looking up my book** to engage in an extended conversation with another customer.As though that question is somehow more important than mine? As though this person is not capable of waiting, just like I did?Dunno, maybe the difference is that he was white. Dont really care anymore.I let them talk for a few minutes, staring in growing disbelief, before putting down my merch and leaving.Betting I wont have these problems when I take my business to Amazon.
Place is awesome. Im new to D&D but the owners wife (co-owner? Aka game dice curator) was a great help. She found the dice I was looking for and hooked me up with a few other things. Im hoping I can come back on a Wednesday to check out D&D for beginners.

Their game nights are excellent with a ton of games available to sample, and they have an amazing selection of games to buy, ranging from casual to intense. Its also well-organized and clean.
This place is sleeve to your Magic Card, the tower to your dice, the monster to your energy. The fantastic demo library offers tons of tabletop and board game options. The retails section has tons of great party games and euro games.
Amazing selection of games and literature. Theres honestly something for everyone here. If you actively play, its a treat too. The player base in their events rightfully have a reputation of being highly competitive, but since starting here Ive seen them be extremely encouraging to newcomers and nothing but professional during and outside of events. Shop here for great deals and finds, play here to get better, but for competitive play possibly warm up / start elsewhere first and then graduate to here
Game selection is massive, but well organized. I wish that an employee had tried to ask if I need help though. Well over half the store is below the shop but it isnt exactly typical for me to go down to a stores basement.I would have been more comfortable if an employee had asked if I need help finding something, if it was my first time visiting, and general hospitality questions.Pricing was right at MSRP, similar to other local game stores.

Go elsewhere for Magic the Gathering.Did a mass trade in and received zero help or communication regarding the cards I was looking to buy in return. Taking my large budget and buy list to a different shop-- stick to board games and D&D at pandemonium unless you dont mind looking through binders alone for several hours while staff ignore you.They have an email for communication that is not responsive (3 days, no reply).

Friendly staff, but very focused on experienced players of RPG and strategy games. Not only did they hardly have any games my family would enjoy (trivia or word based games), they didnt even have starter kits for RPGs.
My experience with this place has only been with Magic:The Gathering but it is great for that. Downstairs is a good place for events and they have lots of Magic singles for pretty good prices. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Pandemonium is a great bookstore/game shop. If you need MTG, dungeons and dragons supplies (including books and some miniatures) or are looking to get into a new game I recommend checking it out!

Ive been going to Pandemonium for years and I love their selection of new and used role-playing games, as well as their cool selection of science fiction novels.. However, the downstairs gaming area is poorly ventilated and smells awful!Recommended if you can hold your breath.
Very friendly staff with a huge and well-kept catalogue of tabletop games, novels, and comic books. You can get supplies for assembling and painting your minis here, too. Several big events per week and a bulletin board at the bottom of the stairs with LFG notes and contact information as well as calendars for such events. If you have any questions, just ask anybody who works there.
What can I say... Pandemonium is a garshdarn gem of a place. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and darn good gamers. I am a adult who fell off the deep end on MTG about a year ago and this place has been a great training grounds. I especially appreciate Jamie who runs the events. They do a heck of a job and always make sure we are all having fun!
Is good overall for board games and trading card games. It has a bit of a confinement feeling but as long as youre having fun youll get used to it in no time.On the books department they have Everything and more, authors signings and good discounts and events.it has a bit for everyone.
Huge and very welcoming. Had a really amazing selection of games and table top items, and a very lively bi-weekly (Wednesday and Saturday night) dungeons and dragons night able to accommodate well over 7 different groups.
I love this place! Not only it has one of the best books/cards/board games/figurine stock Ive ever seen, but it also organizes a lot of events for people to gather and play. Moreover, there are lots of board games you can play before deciding whether to purchase them. Its definitely a gamers paradise!

Great store, lots of cool books, even some signed ones. Im not a huge fan of how they run there magic events though. The one I went to started late and having people fill out there DCI numbers on the back of the receipt so the judge downstairs can input into his computer seams like an extra step. It could be more of an issue with the software they use but Im sure they could come up with a better, more efficient system.
A very good variety of board games, card games and role play books. In the basement they host role-playing and board games on different nights. Its a pity the area downstairs smells and was very loud when I went there.
In town for a wedding and did a prerelease. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Will come back next time I find myself in Boston.
This place is located on the central train stop of the red line. Looking for some great activities this is the place. Dungeon and dragons is 5$ every Wednesday. The store owner Tyler is really nice to everyone. The staff know a lot about the store including magic the gathering cards and there prices. If you are looking for rarer cards this is the spot including eldrazi titans and the expensive jace for 500$. Authors come to sign books seeing there is a section for novels and books. Clean bathrooms two of them and large lower level with around 10-12 tables for games. I personally love the store and my experience is all to great.
A proper bookshop (for SF and Fantasy) with staff who love books (and complain they dont have enough time to read). Listening to their advice opens up new authors who youve not heard of - OK and can be expensive too. Their games are good too.

I am not a regular but I have been here twice to pick up some sleeves and maybe a board game. Both times the employees have been extremely and unnecessarily rude. Never have been more disappointed for such a large and nice store.

This store stands as the cream of the crop in the gaming retail industry, and has a fantastic niche literature selection to boot.Board games, card games, role-playing games, strategy miniature games... I have never been to a better store, in any state.Its a little cramped because its Cambridge, but its without question the best store of its sort within convenient travel from Boston, and without question the best store of its sort that Ive ever been to, anywhere.
