I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ Unlimited (LJ). The repair I needed was to mitigate the infamous frame rot /rust that plagues YJs, TJs and JKs. Ive seen it many times, but my Jeep is garage kept with less than 80,000 miles (30,000 put on by my daughter in the last 4 years), so I had always hoped that I would be spared the frame issues that others had experienced.Unfortunately this was not my luck. Im a fairly good welder (steel fabricator) and prefab frame rails can be purchased online, but I dont have a lift which can make welding difficult when crawling around under the Jeep and the breaker on my outlet is undersized and keeps popping when I weld for more than a few minutes at a time.That said, I contacted Artys Auto Service for the repair, emailing several pics before bringing my Jeep in, so he could quote an estimate that would be somewhat close to the final bill before bringing it in. When our schedules actually connected to bring it in, I was able to get a firm quote. Initially I was concerned, as he could not provide an exact firm price, but during this pandemic my family and I have wanted to work with locally owned and operated businesses to help them keep their employees paid, so I trusted Arty to do the right thing and not take more of my hard earned money than the project was worth.Arty was in constant contact with me during the repair process and the work done by his employees was fast, courteous and friendly. A week later I got a call from Arty that the Jeep was ready to pick up. All work was professionally done and I have no complaints. I was glad that we stuck by our dedication to help local businesses. Artys fair pricing and awesome work will allow my Jeep to survive another 15 years (maybe more). From personal experience I can say that I highly recommend Artys Auto Service for anyone in need of a good mechanic and reasonable pricing. I am a traveler. Driving a 2010 nissan frontier. Out to Texas, colorado, new mexico and back.In and out of North Carolina, Florida, MA, Maine and Vermont. 6 months here; a year or more there, etc. A tumbleweed; as someone once put it.First thing i do when i settle into a new region is begin to look at the local garage market for the usual...a solid reputable place for an oil change, tire rotation, brakes, chk this and that...whatever.Artys is the real deal. A welcoming reception. Professional, thorough, crisp, intelligent discussion of repairs and work to be done. A cool old buick if you need an overnight rental. Glad i found them. You will be too.

Repair order J010767. My 2013 Mazda CX-5 needed a left front lower control arm to fix the worn ball joint. I didn’t want to take it to a shop since I was a mechanic at one time but I lacked the tool to press out the ball joint. They told me they would get the part from MAZDA and it would be $249 for the part. They completed the job and I paid for the repair. A couple weeks later I was installing new brakes on the front, and noticed the symbol on the control arm they replaced was not a Mazda symbol. So I did some research and found that “MS” symbol on the part means “Mevotech Supreme” and retails on the web for around $100. I also looked up what the actual MAZDA part retails for— around $151 on the web.UPDATE… I was contacted by Arty himself a couple days after this review posted. He was very apologetic and professional. He explained how there was an unintended lack of communication that resulted in my dissatisfaction. He also explained that they don’t have time to search the internet for every part his shop needs. They get their parts from a few vendors, and they set their prices accordingly. That is why the prices are higher. As far as the Mazda control arm goes, they could not find it in stock anywhere. That’s why the “Mevotech Supreme” part was substituted, but that information was accidentally not conveyed to me. Arty gave me a $70 shop credit to cover the price difference. I WILL be returning to Arty’s in the near future.

Very personable and got Jeep in and out quickly

Its always difficult to search for new mechanic, and trust one with a major repair, BUT I got extremely lucky when I got Artys Auto Service off of yelp. My 2003 Ford Explorer need a new timing chain (not a cheap or quick fix but Arty provided me with a detailed estimate, and even when there additional work he was fair, honest. Arty provided personal attention to my vehicle needs, as well as receiving greatly, friendly customer service from Brooke. They provided me with a warranty on the work...thats hard to find these days. My first experience with them was so good, that I ask him to replace a starter that was recently done by another mechanic. I waited to write this review, and since then any time my vehicle makes a strange sound, or feels odd (and a 17 year old vehicle has lots of them) I will be taking it to Arty, as well as all my cars. 2020 may be a rough year for many of use, but finding Artys Auto Service online was a hit for me.

I have used Arty’s for my vehicle work for the past 3yrs. Arty and his staff have always been great to work with. Service is timely and I have never had to take anything back. Arty is good at explaining what is needed right away and why and what can wait for another time.

Probably have dropped an arm and a leg at this place, but that’s what it costs to take care of your cars. I really like how thorough they. Art really tries to give you as many options and scenarios that fit within your budget, but also makes sense for your car and safety. Never pressures you into any additional expenses like most places do. Also very quick! Never go a day without my car. We recently moved in the area in March and have been using them ever since. Highly recommend for all your car needs.

I recently had some repairs done to my Jeep at Artys Auto Service, and as usual I am very happy! My Wrangle is seventeen years old this year, but honestly it doesn’t feel like I’m driving a vehicle that old. It handles great, everything is tight and I know that it is mechanically sound. Arty takes care of all of my car maintenance and repairs. I can’t tell you how nice it is to have a place to take my car and know that I am receiving high quality work. They know what they are doing.

He was very knowledgeable and professional when it came to the issue and parts that were needed to be replaced he always contacted me when an issue came up and even brought me in the shop to show me the issues before he tackle the problem. I did feel the labor was a little high but Im not from this area. I will gladly pay for quality.

I went in the next day and he made things right and told me what he was going to change to make sure similar things dont happen to me again, or other customers. He also made sure that the next time I need an oil change it would be on the house. Arts actions are the definition of addressing a problem, and responding with superior customer service. Artys received one star for overall experience for one reason. They asked for my phone number which is pretty standard practice but what isnt is that they texted me marketing without my permission. Its one thing to add someones email to your marketing list but texting someone without their permission is expletive deleted unacceptable. I will never use their services again for that one reason. Car inspection time - something no one really looks forward to! Being pretty new to Chester County, I did a lot of research before I chose Artys, and Im glad I did. The whole bill was more than I had anticipated, but it was worth it for peace of mind......I chose to get a tire replaced and a new battery that day, even though my car would have passed inspection without those two things. Arty seems to put safety first, rather than just slap a sticker on and send you on your way, as I know some shops do. I will return for the other things that he suggested that I get taken care of, and I highly recommend this business!

I do all of my repairs and service myself but needed an alignment after some work i did. They got me scheduled and in quick and called me back shortly after i dropped it off it was done. They live up to their good reviews and didnt try to screw me over like alot of shops do nowadays. Owner seems like a cool down to earth gearhead and takes pride in his work. I will be back when needed and will recommend them. 👍👍

A total joke of a garage left bolts loose put my e brake cable on wrong twice. I paid 4000 to have subpar work. That have had to spend 2000 more in correcting. All I want is 2000 back I think that’s fair at the least

Ive been a loyal customer to Artys for many years and have always found them to be knowledgeable, fair and helpful. I tend to be hard on my brakes (and always expect to have to replace them) and this is the only shop Ive found who will honestly tell me when I dont need them replaced. A very good experience so far. I am new to the area and needed a new mechanic. Shop is clean, lot is nice, waiting area is roomy, restroom is clean. I expect the attention to detail carries over to the work done. I had inspection, oil/lube + wheel bearings, fuel filter and some other needed work. It was all done right. Communication was professional especially with Arty who related facts to me about my vehicle based on his experience. If you have a high mileage vehicle like I do, this is a good place to keep your car rolling for many more miles I believe.

Artys has always been to local mechanic I turn to for standard repairs. Good service and reasonable prices. Ive never gotten a sense that they want to take you. Theyre very accommodating and explain all services well before performing them.

Like the shuttle service to the diner and Arty always goes over everything really well. I trust him as a mechanic and have no issues with taking our cars there for service.

Ive taken my truck there a few times. Arty and his people do very good work. They are a little expensive, but use only the best parts, and they did walk me through everything that they were doing, taking extra time to explain any added service that needed to completed. I would definitely recommend Artys to anyone that needs work done on their car or truck, I just hope I dont have to go back anytime soon, for obvious reasons.

They tried to tell me my headlights needed to be replaced.... took my car to another shop and they said they look fine. And my inspection passed without any issues. This place is a scam. They try and sell you stuff that your car DOESNT need.... we wont be taking any of our vehicles back there. They just wanna make your bill as high as possible. My father was a mechanic for 36 years. We know your games.... quit trying to scam people. AVOID THESE PEOPLE. Go someplace else.

I had a break light burned out and they replaced it and had me on my way in 10 minutes without an appointment.

Artys does good work on most everything car related. They also have a loaner car if the work on your car is going to take a few days. While they arent as expensive as a dealership, they do run a little bit pricier than most small repair shops. So they do good work but it might cost more than other shops that size.

About a month ago I went to get into my car and it wouldnt start. The battery had died. I dont work to far from Artys. So I called. Arty sent A guy over to my work place. And he charged my battery. I drove over to Artys and he found a few things wrong with my car including the cars battery life was gone. He repaired my car quicker than I expected and dealt with the battery issue. I LOVE THE WAY MY CAR RIDES NOW. I have a couple more things to get done and definitely I be going back to Artys. Artys is where Im now going for àll my car needs. Thanks so much Artys🤗. Went for an inspection yesterday. Very nice and professional staff they have! Only needed a few minor repairs and showed other potential problems and took care of it at a very fair price, almost a bargain price! Great service and would definitely return and recommend friends!

Very nice folks at this location. However, would strongly recommend you obtain written quote before having service performed. Cost for service was 40% ($800) higher than verbally quoted. They did knock $100 off but I was on the fence about having work performed as the car had high mileage and I was thinking about selling/trading in instead of incurring expense. I am not implying I was overcharged or the service performed was not legitimate; just upset I committed to work based on one price and then charged a much higher price.The reason given for why I was not called advising the cost would be much higher was because Art got tied up with his kids.

They called me back less than 5 min after I sent an email. They got me in less than 24 hours after I talked to them, and they charged me $150 less than any other mechanic I spoke to. They were fast, friendly, and good! I highly recommend! Will be using again. Thank you guys so much!
