Food is awesome. Staff is friendly an helpful. When it comes to Sports bar & grills they awesome most are way higher priced but Rookies is right in the middle. I say that cause the food is worth the price and the drinks are to, so if your looking for a place to eat an have a drink Rookies is the play e to be.

Ive driven by here many times and havent stopped because it didnt look like much from the outside. However, I walked here during an oil change and am glad I did.I wasnt even sure that it was open, as the dark tint on the exterior windows blocked out any activity or even beer lights from inside. However, upon entering I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, friendly service, tap beer selection and food (french fries is all I had, but they had a larger menu).Update: My wife and I stopped here for lunch yesterday. We ordered the blackened chicken quesadillas (see pictures) and really liked them. Everything Ive tried on the menu is fantastic. Pizza, Baked Mac n cheese, Pizza, even build your own burgers or chicken sandwiches, the food is down right delicious. Great beer and drink selections, and the staff are all so friendly. Feel right at home in this establishment. Even other patrons sitting near are not shy to spark up friendly conversations. 10/10 recommend, one of the best Sports Bars in our area. Will return, many more times.

Our son suggested we meet him for lunch at Rookies. When we pulled up and parked we were apprehensive. It was a typical strip mall sports bar. We ordered, me the Prime Rib Dip and my wife got the Reuben. Our son ordered a chicken wrap. OMG! The food was amazing and unlike most establishments it came with two sides included in the price. My wife loved her sandwich and it was obvious the corned beef is made onsight! My sandwich had plenty of meat and a rich, tasty au juice to dip. Our son loved his wrap. He got side salad and it was the size and quality of a main salad at most restaurants and the croutons were made in house! You have to eat here! Now!

The waitress wasnt very friendly at first- acted like she was either overworked or didnt wsnt to work. But she did get nice & accommodating.The appetizer was Delicious! Compliments to the cook!

One of our favorite places! Friendly staff, great food, cold drinks, and local! Last night I had the patty melt with onion rings ( yes the thin breaded ones...yummy) and it got the spot! Everything was fine exactly the way I wished it. Thank you Rookies for being our favorite spot!

Our foursome enjoyed our dinner at Rookies! The place was 2/3rds full on a Friday night and the wait staff was bustin it! Great burgers, fries, and mac & cheese! Decent selection of beers as well. One thing, the cottage cheese side needs to be chilled better, it was almost warm and the portion was too small. Otherwise, very good!

Great place to watch the Hawkeyes beat Penn State! Lots of TVs, great food selection - definitely recommend the Philly Cheesesteak. Excellent service, too! 👍

The waitstaff and bartenders are great here! So is the food. My go-tos are the nachos, burgers, and pizza. Plenty of TVs for watching sports.

Love the breaded mushrooms, have never had anything bad here actually, always fast and friendly service. Fish and chips really good too.

Had the 12 oz ribeye, it came with a side of vegetables that were very delicious, a baked potato, a salad, and a slice of garlic bread, it was all exceptional quality. By the time I was done eating it all I was very impressed with the quality and quantity at a very reasonable price. Will be back for sure to try other items on the menu!

Service was very good. Went in on an early Sunday evening. The quesadilla was just meh. The chicken in it however was good. Their quesadilla needs something added to their recipe. It was dry and uninspiring. The salsa, was just ok as well.

Oh my gosh, it was amazing! The food was fantastic, the drinks were wonderful and the service was incredible! The owner was so sweet and made sure we were welcomed and we had a great experience! I would recommend this place to everyone!

Great place to come hang out after work! I went Friday at Happy hour and it was a good mix of people there! The food was excellent I had the prime rib special 10oz and couldnt finish it.At first my drinks werent strong enough but Tommy had no issue making them stronger for me he was great! I had a blast and will be back!

A nice place to sit at the bar and chat with folks around you. Tommy, the bartender, is great. The appetizer cheesy bread with Graziano sausage is soo good.

Just ordered doordash the first time in a long time trying this place call in to let them know that Id like to change it to plane talk to a gentleman who says his name is Joe explain my situation before Im even able to Finnish talking he interputs me and is incredibly rude and then proceeds to laugh at me over the phone. still have no call of response from either been 30 min extremely disappointed do not go

Family oriented and own. Great food and service. Went to watch a Drake game and owner made sure we could hear and see the game. Will certainly go there again

Ordered a patty melt, absolutely no onions on the sandwich, let our server know, she told the manager and she sent out a paltry amount of onions in a souffle cup. Very disappointed, live close looking for other options in the area, probably wont be back, and will let others know about our experience.

Bad Reuben pizza, excellent ambiance, friendly crowd, burgers and fries looked excellent.

The food was great the atmosphere was definitely welcoming, our waitress never missed a beat. As for the Management,Mckinzey was on key asking how our meals taste. Thanks again for a nice evening, well be back.

Rookies is a great place to kick back for drinks, sports or dinner. They have a great Wed night steak special... good eats!! Oh they do breakfast too.

Ordered from them tonight and got their sirloin steak sandwich. By sandwich I mean they overcooked a tiny piece of sirloin that I asked for medium rare. It was completely unseasoned and just thrown on a piece of Texas toast. The other piece was cut in half so Im not sure how they were expecting me to eat it like a sandwich.Very disappointed and will not be eating there again.Edit: Tried the baked beans and they were bland. No flavor at all.Edit due to response: My wife and I were not in the restaurant and had our food delivered. I will admit after seeing the menu myself(my wife ordered the food) I did see that the cut was small and suppose to be served open-faced. However, the menu also says that the steak is marinated which it absolutely couldnt have been marinated for how dry and bland it was. There was maybe one end that was seasoned. On top of that(not really what I would call a big deal, but it was on the menu) the menu states that the steak is on Vienna bread which its not. Its on Texas toast. Thats not even a huge deal, but its the fact that you say on your menu you use Vienna bread when you dont. If everything just wasnt so bland and tasteless I wouldnt have cared enough to even bother. Even the baked beans tasted like nothing. I dont typically even leave any reviews on Google, but this was so horribly disappointing I had to leave something.

Food prices went up significantly, with less portions..I was very disappointed with the quality of the food... We went for lunch and expect to spend 15 to 20 bucks just for lunch.

The staff is always friendly and the food is always delicious. My wife and I love to come here often to enjoy a drink and supper.

I think 4.5 stars is right. Havent been in years since we moved away. Still as good as ever and very good service during a busy game time.

Great food and service!

Excellent place to watch almost any sports game on TV. Excellent wings, speciality burgers and homemade chips with their homemade dips are my favorite along with their homemade soups. Reasonable prices, friendly staff and they even have a party room that you can reserve for events. When not reserved, its open seating with a pool table and tons of video games for the kiddos!

Staff is great, prices are decent and the food is mostly terrific. Great sports bar theme. Hosted a large party there and the owner really went above and beyond to customize the menu and make it a successful event.

I dont know what has happened to this place but this is probably my last time coming here. Ive been coming here for 15 years, have spent many hours of my life here, and have always loved the food and service. Something has changed over the past year. New ownership? New cook? Food is bad, service is bad. The waitresses are extremely nice but so overworked and we sometimes never see them back after we finally get our food. Let me say it again. Food is bad.

My wife and I have dined here several times and the food is excellent. Lots of great sandwich options and wonderful sides. They also offer two sides, bring your appetite.

I used to absolutely love this place! They must have changed ownership because the quality of their service & food has plummeted! The last 3 times Ive been there, I ordered my favorite dish (chicken quesadilla) & theyve somehow managed to screw it up every time! Ive been going their for about 13 years, but no longer! My friends fries tasted freezer burned & my soda had a funny taste as well. Im so disappointed!

Chill place, good prices, and the food is awesome. Ask for Tom hes the best bartender knows his drinks and is fun to talk to. Thought he was the owner when I started hanging out at the place.

Good service, very nice waitress.Poppers were good but a little burnt. Rest of food was below average. Burnt grinder, overcooked chicken nuggets, mini corn dogs didnt taste right.A few months ago the owner asked my wife what she thought of the food. He wasnt here tonight so he should know it was a little better then, but not as good tonight. Seems to be going downhill.

I remember when rookies was busy, the bartender was wonderful, the food was good. It was Saturday night, it was dead maybe get some entertainment to get people to come in.
