Best place for records and has a basement with a bunch of records that are hard to find

We were greeted when we entered the shop. I liked the experience of shopping here, it has good vibes. Pretty cool place with some extra goods like knitted hats and incense besides vinyl records.

Dont normally give 4 starts but this place is a jewel on Coventry. The prices are pretty high but I understand that you have to keep the store open. Im sure rent is not cheap on Coventry. Id give 5 stars if prices were a bit cheaper

Such a cool, relaxing environment. I found what I was looking for and the young men that work there are always helpful & its usually just one employee when Im there & they work pretty good with helping ones that need it. One place I will continue to visit. One negative is some of thier CBD/ smoke items are too pricey.

Today I got screamed at by an employee. Us, some unsuspecting, unknowing customers, who were by no means intentionally ruining the 50¢ record that she was infuriated about, were basically threatened by her. The woman came barreling, stomping heavily down the stairs, swearing with every word in the book at us, about us, near us. “Get the f*** out” and “F***ing leave” were just some. We were told to never show our faces again in the store... for a VERY minor mistake that could have easily be handled in a nicer, less menacing way. Honestly, I was scared for my physical safety as she had no issue standing in close proximity to us. As I left the store apologizing to this woman, and then crying on my way out, I couldn’t help but think what I can do to resolve this situation. I’d love to collaborate, perhaps I could donate double the damage we did today? Which if my math is correct, would be $1.00.

The guy (sorry dont know his name) in the colorful suits is always nice and friendly. They have reasonable prices and I stop here about once a month to see whats new. Always a large selection

A great place to find rare gems in music. Awesome vinyl collection. But its not only music... they have a little bit of everything from cool clothes, to hooka... Great staff at a place that harnesses the vibe of what COVENTRY once was, and is today...Check out downstairs too!!

Wonderful staff. They are always friendly, and are always willing to help. This is the go to spot for your vinyl needs. They have a wide variety of genres, and two floors of records. This is the best music spot on Coventry

This is such a cool place! They always treat me like family! Very hippy dippy bohemian atmosphere! This place is so legendary that it was mentioned in How I met your mother! I found an original 1983 Cyndi Lauper Shes so unusual. For 3 bucks! This place is legendary!

Not much of a record store anymore. Coventry sure has changed. It’s cool if you need a pipe or something. If you’re looking for vinyl, meh.

Lot of different records!!!! No cds no tapes because you should buy records instead. Also has a good selection of vapes and bongs and rasta hats. Hope it never closes. One of my favorite places.

I loved this little record store, the guy gave us some very helpfull information on record players, a wide verity of records, I wish I could have spent more time there.

I come here for vape juice when I am unable to travel to the vape shop I normally go to. The price of a 60mL is typically around 20 bucks. What annoyed me about this place is that some employees would charge me 27 while others charged 24. But to my surprise , I went in over the weekend and there’s this new guy working there, I forget his name but he’s young white guy with a broken leg and he’s super smart and very knowledgeable of all the products, and he charges me 19 dollars and he said that’s the price it should be. So clearly I was being ripped off by the workers he thankfully replaced. I’m glad that I will now be charged a fair price.

Went in to try and sell my audio-technica atlp 120 direct drive usb turn table and right away the owner was rude. Counting money out in the open and didn’t stop to greet us when we said we were looking to sell. When he was finally done counting his money, he started to look and our record player. I originally purchased this piece for $300 on Amazon not too long ago. I had tried to sell it on eBay for $180 and was going to to a buyer but then I thought well, why don’t I take it to a local record store so they can benefit from it and so that I don’t have to worry about shipping. The owner looked it over and said it was in great condition. He then put my expensive record player on a wobbly stool to test it which I understand he needs to test it but does he really need to put it on an unstable tilting stool that could easily break at any moment in time? This to me showed a lack of concern from the owner. He then tried to play a filthy record on the tilted stool and then seemed shocked when the record did not play like a normal one. We had tested the record player at home at it worked perfectly fine. The owner simply did not know how to properly test a record player. After that mess, he offered us $50 for it. An insultingly low ball offer. Thinking he was going to take advantage of young adults. I understand that he owns a retail shop and he has to make money, but $50? Really? Didn’t even budge a little and practically laughed in our faces when we asked for $180. We would have gone down to probably $125 if he was polite and not rude and condescending. Overall, a very rude staff who did not seem in the slightest bit knowledgable about the subject. Would give zero stars if I could. Never taking my business their ever again. I’ll stick to “A Separate Reality Records” in Tremont who are always friendly and willing to help out and not low ball customers to make a quick buck.UPDATE:As you can see from the reply from the owner, he has little interest in treating customers with respect. It is concerning how you treat your customers. I hope you can learn from this experience and treat future customers with the respect that they deserve. I’m sorry that you did not realize how aggressive and egotistical you were being.

A very unique store. Everyone should visit

A cool local record shop with reasonable prices. I scored a couple of Jefferson Airplane LPs for my wife on my last visit.

UPDATED: Store seems to have a lot of new vinyl releases lately which is a big change! Good prices, and has both old and new.

Decent selection of used LPs, good prices. I hate that they sticker the price tag to the album covers.

A typical (?) record shop that reminds me of Ithaca, NY. You can find everything from records, to hookha, to even bowls(!). The record selection looks slim, but make sure to check out downstairs first.

Really rude employees, and honestly it seems like it cant decide between a head shop or a record shop. The result is a worst of both worlds.
