Had issue come up with my laptop. I lost administrator rights even though I was sole operator of laptop. This was a work computer so urgent that I get this corrected as soon as possible. Searched internet for solution and tried multiple corrections and none resolved issue. Called Ethan at South Lake and he said he could look at it and let me know what he found. Long story short, Ethan treated me right, resolved the issue and price was very reasonable! Also found where my battery had expanded and he removed and will replace when new battery comes in. I found that Ethan was honest, knows what he is doing and I will bring all my computer needs to him in future. It is so refreshing to find a person and company such as this as this is becoming extinct now days! Thanks Ethan for restoring faith in small business, great customer service and communication!

This review is long overdue. I will start off by saying I am no expert with computers but I have never needed help with either a computer build or software issue. With that said, I decided to treat myself by building a PC that Ive always wanted. Purchased the parts, managed to set everything up correctly and when it came to turning on the computer. Something wasnt right. The computer wasnt able to play any games and it ran slower than my other computer. I troubleshooted for days, rechecked every single wire and setting to make sure everything was correct. After a week of frustration and thinking I was going to have to ship everything back; I decided to bring my computer to an expert. Granted, theres tons of corporate places you can bring your computer to. More often than anything, those places will charge you unknowingly customers an arm and a leg for an easy fix. Those same places often dont know much when it comes to expensive gaming items. After reading reviews online, I came across South Lake Computers. I had lived in the Clermont area for almost 18 years and had no idea this place existed despite driving past it all the time. I managed to bring my computer into the store prior to them closing. Despite my own lateness, the employees were extremely kind and allowed me to explain the issue I was facing. Afterwards, they allowed me to hook up my computer and let them take a quick look at it. I showed them the issue and to my surprise, they were very familiar with the parts inside. They also answered the million questions I had and never rushed me or acted the least bit annoyed. The next few days they conducted their evaluation of my computer and kept me up to date with every step. Once they figured out the issue, they fixed it and immediately informed me my computer was ready. Before I left the business; they asked me to start up a game to test it out. I couldnt believe it. They managed to fix the issue after I had spent a week attempting to figure it out. Also, the fact they were honest with the issue when they could have easily taken advantage of a labor fee was very kind of them. They knew I was at my end wit wit my computer. While I was there, I had the opportunity to observe the employees handle all sorts of different issues from customers coming in and out. I must say, the staff here is amazing, kind and extremely professional. I dont leave reviews often on businesses but I have to give them credit. Their customer service and HONESTY is awesome. I highly recommend South Lake Computers for any repair, fix or computer related issue you may have.

After seeing the reviews for South Lake Computer I decided to take my laptop there for them to have a look at it.This was just after opening up after the pandemic shutdown, they have taken precautions to keep everyone safe, only allowing one customer in at a time (door will be locked from the inside), plexi-glass between you and contactless service.That being said, the service that I received was first class, after explaining the problem that I was having, I was told of the plan and the cost. I was contacted the next morning with the finding and how to proceed, which I was more than happy with.When picking up my laptop Andy took his time to explain his findings and the repairs. I feel like I got great value for money and Id be happy to recommend South Lake Computers for any computer needs and I wouldnt hesitate in using them again.

South Lake computers is a great store with knowledgeable employees. I was building my first PC for gaming and I was worrying about the operating system because I just could not justify 90 dollars for a piece of software since I was coming from gaming consoles. Adam helped me get a operating system for a reasonable price. This is one of the few times I can remember where I got something for a good price. The other time I can remember where I got something that I felt was worth it was when I had my transmission seals and cvds replaced on my 1995 civic.It was a 600 dollar repair but the difference in how it drove after is what made it a good deal.

Adam is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He really knows computers and operating systems. I bought two refurbished laptops which continue to run perfectly after 3 years, and had service on a desktop. Easy to find on FL 50 just west of East Ave. (Let the phone ring long enough to transfer to his cell phone)

I cant say enough about South Lake Computers! When my desktop died they were able to save my data & reloaded it on my new computer. I do not have the knowledge when it comes to computers but they worked me through everything, in language I even understood. They are always willing to help and give advise.

These guys have fixed two of my laptops so far with great results. Both had fan issues and broken trays that were hindering video/gaming performance. These guys fixed both of them within one day each, on two separate occasions. They also found one of my hard drives to be legitimately dying, which I hadnt noticed myself. The staff was very friendly, and the costs for each repair were very reasonable and much better than buying new laptops. I highly recommend them!

Adam is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and patient. My wife and I purchased a computer from him in the past and utilized his services once again when we upgraded to a new system and were in need of transferring data. We have owned our own small business since 2006 and we use Quickbooks. Our entire livelihood is stored on that hard drive. Having worked in the IT field decades ago, I know the risks that you face when migrating data. Adam does a phenomenal job of making you feel not so stupid on the other end of the phone. Couldnt have had a better experience. I brought my overheating Dell Precision M6500 Workstation in, fully expecting to have to order fan(s). The system was running extremely hot, causing it to slow down to a crawl. I was losing time and money as a result. They ran all the appropriate diagnostics, cleaned out all the dust that had accumulated around the fans and saved me the time and expense of ordering any parts. In a little over 24 hrs. I had it back running great again. Now thats trustworthy!Everyone was super friendly and took time to answer questions and share their knowledge. I like to think I am pretty computer savy. I have built many computers and water cooled rigs. I have had nothing but great experiences every time I bring my computer in. They really know what they are doing and have very reasonable rates. They have saved me a lot of time and money by trouble shooting my computer quickly and fixing it for much less than I could have imagined. The turn around time is super fast. Among other cool things they did for me, they helped me find a motherboard for my new computer. I was only looking for a small suggestion of a few things to maybe look for, but instead they took the time to explain several of the important aspects of what I was looking for. They answered every little question I had, and I didnt feel talked over or condescended to, but I still felt like I learned a lot. And not once did I feel like they were trying to pressure me into a specific product or to purchase something from them. I keep saying they because even though I began my experience with one, by the end I was getting enthusiastic service from all three. Their help is genuine and skilled. I know that I will be seeing them again.

These people know their computers. If you ever have an issue with your gaming rig from graphics cards to motherboards come to these guys. They were able to diagnosis my issue with my GeForce GTX 970 and replace the motherboard for under $200 which included the actual motherboard, labor , and any software needed. If any of my friends have issues with their rigs I will happily recommend this place.

There is another, perhaps more well-known computer facility in Lake County, but they dont hold a candle to the way these guys accommodate customers. I bought two refurbished hp laptops here, with a six month warranty, and although I have had no issues with the machines, they have provided this novice with pretty much perpetual care, helping mw with downloading stuff, setting up a home page, etc., all at no charge. Was there just today- when I downloaded Skype it changed my home page to Bing, and I didnt know how to fix it. Adam did it for me, with a smile on his face.Thank you, South Lake Computers.

I know enough about cars and computers to be dangerous, never feel like Adam is trying to sell me something I dont need, whether it be services or hardware. I have been in his shop 15 times or more (5 people in my house and Im the volunteer) always professional.A company sent me a secure email to open and respond to and I kept getting error messages. Rather than expose myself to a potential employer as incompetent I asked Adam over the phone then forwarded the error message, he took time out of his day to help me resolve the problem for free.I have bought second hand desk tops from him and he stands behind his products.First class businessman that understands how to help his customers.

My 2012 MacBook Pro Froze to death. Southlake computers gave me a diagnosis telling me that the HD was bad. I decided to take the computer home and fix it my self. Staff was friendly and was very appreciative of the owner who gave me a call as I didnt left the job to be done there. I am really thankful of his call. I have three computers at home and I will love to work with them again.

This review was way overdue and I should have done this a long time ago. However, better late then never, as I always say. Warning; This review might be wordy and long, but its a story worth retelling in its full glory.I have been a valued customer of South Lake Computers starting all the way back in 2013. During February to April in that year, was when I began having issues with my laptop since the first time I bought it. The screen would randomly go black and all functions would lock up, forcing me to restart it via the power button. I tried to do research on my own and since Im not computer savvy in the slightest, I just thought my laptop was overheating. Not knowing about South Lake, I took my laptop to what was my regular repair shop back then, Clermont Computers. The owner, Aaron, had a previous track record of poor communication with me, never calling once while my laptop was being repaired until it was ready for pick up. But I never realized how bad it would become until this incident happened.A newer worker named Jon did the so called repairs for my laptop at Clermont Computers and he had it in his possession for over three weeks, with barely any communication at all during that time. I understand places get busy, but when he specifically tells ME, the customer, that he hates people who call all the time it really puts me off. Of course Im going to call when youre silent for weeks with no update! The only safe communication I could do was talk to Jon via text without bothering him. I finally got my laptop back in MAY (after bringing it to them in April) just to find that the problem still wasnt fixed! When I told him this via text, he said it might be the motherboard and he would call me to discuss it the next day.I was so angry and sick of having lost my laptop for so long and paying over $100 for my problem to NOT be fixed, that I searched elsewhere and discovered South Lake Computers. I decided to give them a shot and the immediate differences just BLEW me away! First off, it took them a single day to discover my computers problem -- a failing motherboard -- something that Jon didnt discover the whole THREE WEEKS he had my laptop! They ordered me a new motherboard, though unfortunately, we did run into some trouble with HP. The motherboard they sent wasnt programmed correctly and the guys spent roughly 3 months -- Thats right 3 MONTHS! -- contacting HP, calling me and leaving me updates on what was going on and just generally going above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined! What wound up happening was my laptop was considered too be at its end of life and HP refused to send me a proper motherboard. I give the guys at the shop the okay a purchase a new motherboard from a different online seller and had my laptop back within that next week, good as new!From my amazing experience, with how they actually communicated with me and returned my calls, to how wonderfully nice they were, I knew they would be the only computer repair place I would ever go to. All of the guys -- Adam, Ethan, Mike, etc -- have been nothing but courteous and always willing to work with me. Ive been back there several times since then, with minor issues (computer viruses and damaged screens) to more major ones, such as my motherboard failing. Again. This is a great recent example of excellent customer service, as I did request them to order a new motherboard for me, back in Oct of 2015, which failed on me one night late December. Adam and Ethan both worked on sending back the faultily piece of equipment, reinstalled my new motherboard at no charge and got it back to me just before New Years. If this isnt above and beyond service, I dont know what is!I can never recommend these guys more! Theres a reason they have a five-star rating and it clearly hows with they wonderful service they provide to their customers.
