Back issue pricing was on point. Staff was awesome. Showed me, a first timer, where everything was in the store and spent time checking the back for some specific requests. Tons of figures, Hot Toys, Transformers, etc. Theyve got a handful of nice Lego minifigs too. Star Wars Armada ships were very few.

Great selection of new comics. Large selection of back issues. Lots of high quality, though expensive, collectibles.Update: Owner is correct. My apologies. Some of these online retailers doing anything they can to cover up that they are selling low quality replicas. I still think some of the collectibles are over priced, but it appears to be no more than what the market is accepting of. Forgive my initial ignorance on the subject.

Went to EC with my adult son who is a person with developmental delays. The service he was offered by the staff was excellent. It’s nice for him to be able to find places he can spend his money and be treated like a regular guy. The staff of EC embody everything that is best about the Gaming/toy-collecting/comic community. Our visit was on a busy Sunday and the level of diversity and acceptance among the staff and customers demonstrated how the world could be a better place. Real Hero’s work here and the selection of toys and books was the best in town.Thank you from a grateful father.

Pretty huge selection. Staff are super friendly, I saw some things I havent seen before as far as collectibles go. I was going to give 4 stars because their prices are a bit high. But I can not fault someone for how they price their items, so I will give them a 5. Mainly because they have a huge selection of collectibles, figures and comics and the staff was ultra friendly and helpful.

This place is great, especially if you are a big DC comics fan. Not too big on anime though which was upsetting for our 2 oldest daughters. My husband and I loved it though. A lot to look at. I loved the nostalgic stuff that you really dont see much.

Poor communication and never contacted me the day my comic with the cover came so I could get it. No voicemail was left especially.

Wow. This place is blew me away. Not a bit comic fan, but there is so much here that my girlfriend and I make it a weekly trip and always find something to buy and take home. Very cool, friendly, and tons of franchises! This place should be a landmark.

Its kind of a converted warehouse filled with geeky goodness. Along the walls are all sorts of comic merch and new comics waiting for you. Then, there are the boxes filled with comics. Interesting note, Ive never seen a bunch of things organized alphabetically that was still in alphabetical order by the middle of the day. The staff were friendly and nice. I asked a bunch of questions and they didnt seem annoyed at all.Maybe Im nitpicking for complaints but, the place seemed rather dim. Any art should be viewed in good light and this place just wasnt lit enough. I was amazed that the main three rows of the place seemed to have enough space for people to move around or a wheelchair but, there are two rows on the far side that seem kind of tight. Not a problem normally but, dont know about wheelchairs.All in all, simply the best comic shop Ive been to in decades.

Ive been going to Emerald City for years. Way back when they were on Seminole Blvd in the small store. Its one of the best comic book shops in the area. But its so much more. Everything from collectibles to Pokemon Cars, and board games. Its fun just to come in and browse from their wide selection. The staff is always wonderful at Emerald City. Ive never had a bad time there.

Excellent Comic Book & Toy Store.I travel alot and enjoy visiting comic book shops when I do.Emerald City is one of the better ones I have visited. They have an excellent selection of everything. There is a lot of comics book novells from which I was able to choose from. People who work here are awesome, nice, helpful and I was able to have a docent conversation with one of them. I will definitely come back here to buy some more goods 😀 I highly recommend this place to everyone!!!

Great place to meet people and friends. Tons of nerdy thing and twice a week there is a board game meetup where you learn a new game or can play any games in their library or even your own.

Cool place, but a bit over priced for my taste but I am not a local in that area I was just passing through. They do have a huge selection so I am sure you can find things you are looking for.

Im really upset. Came here on a recommendation while on vacation. Expected to be blown away.This place is an absolute joke. Comic books are not priced up already on the floor, customers are forced to wait while their merchandise is given, modern price-tags. I waited for 8minutes for the one book I found to be priced up. I work in a shop myself, I know how to do my own pricing. Associate walked over and handed me the book at DOUBLE its going value. I laughed, put the book down and walked out.This is not how comics were meant to be enjoyed. Real readers and collectors know to stay away from places that price on the spot. The customers do the work for the store in this environment. Dont get taken advantage of.

Awesome comic book store! Way better than the ones where I live. I live in Indiana. There was so much stuff I didnt have enough time to look at it all. I went on the walking dead day and got a few of the variant copys of some of my favorite comics plus I picked up some Funko pop figures. Check out was fast and friendly. I will definitely go back if I am ever in the area.

Great large store. Wish they had more things priced out. As you take comics you think are $1 or $2 to the front to check out, then they price you out at the register... Terrible business model to price books at the register(guess they want to make sure they get every $1 out of the comics🙄). But, over all great selection of cool collectibles.

Large selection of comics and comic merchandise, constantly felt watched by staff, just about every staff working the floor made rounds to ask If I needed help but as soon as I tried sharing any interest in what I was there for they seemed completely disinterested and made haste to leave or exit the conversation.Like being followed by loss prevention in a walmart... not a very welcoming place compared to every other comic and hobby location. Also lack of any game tables for card games or tabletop games also hurts the score for this location as even most of the smallest shops reserve space for these loyal customers.

If you love comic books, super heros, video games, star wars, harry potter or anything towards the nerdy side then this place is for you. This place also brings you back to your childhood with a bunch of vintage toys and collectibles.

Probably one of the best comic shops around. Huge selection of comics new and old. Extensive selection of trade paperbacks. More toys than I could even spend time looking at. Friendly staff and plenty of them. Worth checking out if youre in the area.

Sure. Itd be cool to see stuff for nerds who arent into fantasy or marvel heroes. Axis and allies and other historical games/models hobby stuff would be cool - like Sci-Fi city in Orlando. Also, the corona virus mask mandate was banned LONG ago by Gov. DeSantis. Wearing mask should be optional.

I am happy to report that the experience was great! I am a Pokémon fan, and while their stock was kinda small, there is a crisis where scalpers are ruining the fun and their prices were low. the packs i bought were usually going for $9-$10 out of the 9 packs I bought 5 had a holo or better, and greatest of all i got a $300 dollar card! thank you so much for the good experience, and i hope you get all the business in the world!

A little out of the way, but worth the drive. The selection was incredible and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Just wish Id had more time to look around and more money to spend.

You get to a Ray Park signing event at 3:20 (Ray Park got there at 3) and they turn you away saying they have to many people in line but you are welcome to go inside and shop with us. Drove an hour and got out of work as early as I could, thanks for nothing. Will never be back to this place again.

This was a great store with an incredible selection. I know this is a very specific thing, but they had a great selection of Star Wars Legions figurines! I have looked in a great many places for them and Im so glad I found them! Everyone was super friendly, and they even helped my dad put together one of the more complex LEGO figures! On the subject of legos, it gives me so mucb joy to just look at their display case and all the little figures! They had the only Sabine Wren lego Ive ever seen, and that made me super happy! I also got my first comic book from this place, so I am very emotionally attached. Theyre organization system is very neat and tidy; it makes it very easy to find legos and comics from the displays. If I could give more stars I would, and I hope the staff has a great day!EDIT: I was scrolling through and I saw that someone was saying masks should be optional and suchlike. I appreciate that that the store prioritizes the safety of their staff and customers. I always feel comfortable with their guidlines. :)

The place for Tampa Bay comic fans with all of the newest issues and a huge back library of past issues. They also have a wide range of table top games and accessories, role playing models, and an assortment of comic and fantasy figures, collectables and cards.

Great place for film nerds such as myself. I pretty much get all my figures and collectibles here. From NECA to Mezco to HotToys and everything in between this place has a plethora of fun stuff and they dont price goug their customers. Everything is priced in line with the ongoing market or cheaper. (Trust me, I check)Also, if youre a comic book/graphic novel fan, this is your place. They have walls upon walls of fantastic comics to choose from. This includes hardback collections of your favorite comics (like the original Ninja Turtle Collection ♥️) They also consistently have fun events with special guests and artist.The staff is always helpful and courteous regardless of how busy they are, and they can get super busy. AJ and Adam always take care of me, answer my questions and look things up to let me know when to expect it in. I cant keep my hands off NECA and Hot Toys so they have been a great help in keeping me in the loop with things that are disappearing in the market, and items that more than likely wont be re-released.All in all this place is like having a local shop, but it opporates on a grand scale. Even if you arent picking something up, you should stop in and check Emerald City out. There are an abundance of cool things to see and you may just catch the bug and start returning :)

Neal has really has put Emerald city on the map because there is no other comic book store in this county or Hillsborough that can touch his store. This store is on par with Mile-high comics.
