Went in Monday to look at a Veloster and was met by Nick. He was super friendly and helpful. While I was talking to him another Veloster showed up on their incoming inventory and he told me about it. Horrible customer service, over the phone they tell me I can get a car with 0 down, even with over a 660 credit score they tell me I have to have a minimum of 1000 down payment to drive off the lot or I had to trade a car in. The sales guy said he could get me into a “program” that’ll help the APR % go down, he shows me cars over 24000 with an interest rate of 11% with the program and then he shows me a FIAT without the program and the APR WAS 24%, however the interest rate on a FIAT is expensive no matter what& when I asked him to look at another car APR without the program, he shrugged his shoulders and told me it would all be the same. I truly didn’t care but when a customer ask to see something you show it to them. He ran my credit to see how much of a down payment I would need BEFORE showing me anything on the lot (he asked me what I wanted, and after running my credit he told me he didn’t have any of the cars I was looking for) he showed me 2 beat up cars, one was a 2016 the doors creaked when you opened them, and oh gosh they were DIRTY!!!!!!! Looked like they used one rag to clean the whole car off and didn’t rinse the rag. He then showed me a 2017/18 I believe and the dashboard was cracked, and the steering wheel was so sticky, I looked in the back and there was all different types of gunk that looked like a soda was spilled in there. He then told me he wanted to show me another car but his boss was out driving it, he wasn’t sure when he was coming back. After I was done with the online quote said it was a down payment would be close to 180, yet he tells me I can’t leave with anything less than 1000 down payment. Hate looking for cars, all these people care about is how they paycheck will look.

I HATE buying cars and the process of dealerships and pushy salespeople. That being said, my experience with DriveTime, and their employees Nicholas, Vince and Jeff, was nothing short of wonderful. They were patient and accommodating and made me feel comfortable the entire time. I also had some issues with starting a new job and not having a pay stub yet and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled and I could leave with the car the same day. It was a lengthy process but they got it done with a smile. If you are in the market for a used vehicle I recommend this location in Clearwater, FL.
