I came into Pep Boys about a month ago to get a new set of tires, and Wade was incredibly nice and helpful. Service was quick, and no issues. My phone was dying and he even provided a phone charger for me to use. Great shop, great shop manager. 10/10 would recommend.

No welcome when I walked in. Told them I had made an appointment at 2:30 for tire rotation and oil change. Richard looked at me and laughed. The other man, named Wayde, took my information, which should have been in the system as I had called around 11 am and gave them this info. Then the power flicked on and off and he he had to ask me everything over again. He had to ask me what I was here for two more times because he forgot. Then he takes my keys and says it is next in line. I waited one hour and my car was still not started. I asked him when it would get started and he said they only had one technician working today. So what is his job if not to help out? Waste of my time. Also while I was there a mother and daughter had come in saying they had an appointment at 3 and the same guy said “I don’t see any appointments scheduled at three.” Overall, I was there an hour and half.

I wanted a second opinion on a repair another shop did. Richard took the time to really hear our concern, looked, found, fixed the issue and had the car back to us within one morning. He saved me an additional $1,200 that the other shop was going to charge which ended up not being necessary to resolving the noises the car was making. In fact, I could have been looking at a long, lengthy repair voyage that may not have ever resolved the root issue. I am very relieved and very happy with his work. I cant say thank you enough.

I purchased a set of tires online and selected this location to do the installation based on the reviews I read on Google. The manager who was filling in at that location was very nice and started the installation of my tires immediately after I arrived there which was 30 minutes earlier than my appointment. I also had them do a wheel alignment and had them re-scan all my tires so they would show up on the dash in the correct order. I was extremely happy with the service at this Pep Boys location and would highly recommend them to anyone. The prices were more than fair and the guys a quick and efficient at what they do! Its understandable how they have such great reviews on Google.

Its a great auto shop to work for

I came in last year for some tires and had a couple issues with that. I came in again to get the same tires and had a much better experience this time around. I spoke to who I think was the owner. I didnt catch his name but he was very straight forward and reassuring and did his best to get me similar tires, (they didnt have the same ones I bought last year) and they had me in and out within two hours. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase, the staff, and the good work.

Carlos at the Gulf to Bay Clearwater store is a Good as they come. He was up front and Honest with me about having new brake pads put on wifes car,we thought the car needed them and was ready to have the work done , but when he took off the tires and inspected the Brakes, they still had more than half of their life left on them. He could have very easily just done the work and took our money and we would have never known the difference. Instead he called and said he could not put pads on our car and have a clear conscience about it, they still had plenty of life left in them. Thank you Carlos for keeping the Spirit of Honesty Alive!! I will definitely be back in the future for all our repair work!! Thanks Again!!

I regret even going to this specific Pep Boys, I went in for an alignment, and firstly, did not get a printout showing what was adjusted or how it was before. But worse still, I know 100% they never drove my car or theyd know the car pulls to the right now, where before it never did that. TERRIBLE. I work for this company, and I expect better from so called professionals in my industry.Im going to be speaking to the area director for the company. Such behavior is utterly unacceptable.

After having a very negative experience with untrustworthy/sketchy mechanics at the auto shop down the road, my brother recommended that I go to Pep Boys! He also had an amazing experience getting his brakes and brake pads done here, so I figured I would take his word and check it out for myself and I am SO glad that I did. Richard and the other 2 men that were working alongside to help me get my car back in great condition were extremely hospitable from beginning to end! Richard and the other mechanic working were very thorough in explaining exactly what needed to be done to my car and why. This made me feel so much more trusting of them and I could really tell that their top priority was to make sure that I left 100% satisfied and feeling safe on the road again! I will without a doubt ALWAYS come back here for any future car needs and I will most definitely recommend this shop to friends and family! I had my vehicle serviced here on 10/06. The shop charged about $850 for a fuel pump replacement but I ended up being ok with the overpriced repair because I didnt want to have to have it towed a second time. On top of this repair I asked that they do an oil change, the shop charged for a new fuel filter and even marked the sticker inside the vehicle saying they changed it. I took my car to another mechanic on 10/24, not even 3 weeks later and the oil filter was visibly worn and had built up gunk inside it as well as outside. It makes me wonder if they even bothered to change the oil or if they just charged me for that and said they did it as well. I will never take my car to a Pep Boys location again.Edit: Just to make you all aware, the auto-response claiming they will make things right if you email them resolves absolutely nothing. They still have their money for services not rendered and wasted even more of your time if you sent the email as I did.

Stopped in for an alignment and two new tires on our older 4Runner we drive across all of North America. Was out of the shop in under 2 hours with top quality work and nice conversation with the manager Richard. Thanks!

Great price and customer service

The workers were polite , just crazy labor costs ! Tried to get my headlight fixed , which I purchased already and they said the labor would’ve costed 300$ we went to jiffy lube who did it for free.

I came in first thing Saturday morning (without an appointment) because my tire was leaking air badly. Richard took my car immediately and had it fixed within 30-minutes (just enough time for a nice run at Crest Lake Park!) Great customer service and quick turnaround times. I found my new auto service location!

Very caring, they were honest and didnt charge me when they found they could not fix it because it was too old.

Richard was very helpful and found me a great deal on a set of Goodyear tires. Was replacing all four. He quoted me a price that was better than any other I found. His estimate was $525 but the total including tax, mounting, balancing, etc. was only $509.I observed how he ran this business as he dealt with customers and in my opinion, this business is uncommon these days. I just pulled into the parking lot here yesterday to take a phone call, but I have been here before and would never recommend this place to anyone. This is the place that told me they had to remove my entire bumper to replace a bulb in my headlights and it wd be $80. And I even brought the bulb that was needed. Took it elsewhere and the other place charged me $30 and it took maybe 2 minutes. No bumper removal.

Got to this location very close to their closing time last night with a flat tire on my moms car. Instead of sending us away like they could have, they quickly diagnosed the flat and showed me where the hole was. It was in the side wall so we needed a new tire. They had the new tire on almost immediately for a reasonable price. We were on our way again in maybe 20 minutes. Highly recommend this location- they’ve really got a great team that cares about your car and you.

Terry has done it again! I have finally found an auto repair that I don’t feel a loosening of my bowels when I enter the shop.This is my third trip to Pep Boys for service for what I consider a prime opportunity to give me a horse chokingly high repair bill. But my confidence in this stores honesty is so high that I just told him to take his time, fix it and call when ready. Even after my wife said, “wow, that’s really expensive to fix” after I told him what I thought was broken. Terry and I both refrained from laughing out loud at her setting me up for a good screwing which would have occurred at pretty much every other corporate repair facility in Clearwater. My car has 230,000 plus miles on it and there are many areas that need attention, which Pep Boys doesn’t badger me about getting repaired.Thank you Terry and Pep Boys for giving me a place that I feel secure won’t take advantage of my limited knowledge in auto mechanics. And if they treat me like this, I’m sure that everyone is treated the same, unless your attitude deserves less.Pep Boys is a safe place to have your vehicles repaired and serviced. Great service! I have an older car (1997), which has small issues here and there. Ive now gone to these guys a few times in the past couple years and they are super-helpful. They always give me the exact info on whats wrong with my car and dont charge for things not needed. My most recent problem was a terrible screeching noise, which my car friends diagnosed as needing a new belt. The team at Pep Boys (Gulf to Bay) looked at my car and found that it was a broken bolt. As the belts were fine, they only replaced the bolt and while they were there, they also fixed a problem with one of my brake lights for no extra charge. I cant recommend them highly enough.

Great team of fellas here. They were great at explaining what I needed. Nothing more. No upsells. Yes they pointed out I needed a set of wiper blade and new air filter yet. Just pointed it out. Didn’t make me feel pressured. I went in for a badly needed brake job. These guys hooked me up. Truck rides like it’s new. I took them up on a few other suggestions just because I felt so comfortable with them. Terri, Gino. Two other guys, I’m crappy with names. They were all great. Happy customer here and would recommend them to anyone for service to their vehicle. Same day service and these guys were busy too!

They do so much more than brakes.. fast oil changes!My car acted like it didnt want to start. I took it in on my way to work in the morning they tested it and put a starter in and I only a little late for work.... cant beat that!

Daniel and Chris are my favorite people to see when I know something is acting up with my Toyota. These guys are genuinely honest when it comes to cars. Ive had oil changes, my check engine light come on, my tire plugged etc. and theyve never tried to tell me to fix something that isnt broken (like most shops). Its the first time Ive ever visited a place where they stand by their work. I have to say, I first came to this Pep Boys back in November because I had a tire that needed to be plugged. The man who worked there (who no longer does) told me that he couldnt plug my tire because it was out of the area they could (it wasnt). So I had to get a cheap plug from another random place. Well, low and behold that plug didnt hold so I decided to give Pep Boys another chance. Daniel, hes amazing (for the love of god, give the man a raise). I told him what happened and he apologized for someone not plugging my tire the first time, the right way. When I asked what the damage was - no charge since I was wronged the first time. THIS is the reason I will forever be a Pep Boys customer, because they stand by their work and take pride in it. Honesty is a hard thing to come by. I had a check engine light come on. They read the code for me at no charge & explained what it meant. The mechanic reset the light & told me what to expect if the light came back on again and we could go from there. It felt like they were honest and straightforward with me.

TOURIST BEWARE!I was in from Kentucky and my truck’s U-Joints went out ,Richard was so pleasant and helpful I felt he was giving me good service when he stated he went to 3 Mopar dealerships and the best price he could get was $1500After calls to Jim Browne in Tampa , I was back on road all fixed for $474.00Remember, even though folks act like they are looking out for you , they may be gouging you because you are a tourist in their eyes, and they are out for what they can get.Thank goodness I had the sense to call around for myself and compare prices. So this review is not only for tourists, it’s for everyone out.there. Always call and compare prices, never accept one persons price quote.

DO NOT GO HERE.The Manager Raul aka R.C. scammed me on $200.I took my car in and asked for the $99 brake special. He told me I needed my entire brake system fixed. He offered to get my brakes done for a temporary fix until I could come up with $700 to fix my brakes the way they needed to be. He said he was a sucker for good looking women and he wanted to give me a deal. I told him all I had was 200. He charged me $197. He said my brakes would last less than a week because my calibers were destroyed. I felt scammed and pressured. Once done, I took my car home. The next day I was looking at my paperwork realizing both papers had diff amounts on them. I called another location and they said to bring in my car and the paper. I took my car in and let them look at the paperwork. The regional manager got involved. My money was returned to me, in full, and my brake system was fine, jus needed new brake pads that were FREE. and the man was in serious trouble. I was under the impression he was going to be fired.. I drove by yesterday to see the man still inside the shop. This is a shame. I have never felt so disgusted in my life from a really known business.. DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT. the dude was trying to make commission off of a single mother/woman.

I am so thankful for these guys. Pulled into a location in Clearwater to deliver some equipment after driving 9 hours, and my breaks just out...on Sunday...2 days before Christmas. And I needed to drive back home 9 hours away.Started looking for a place and found these guys not 20 minutes from where I was. They had time for me. From the time I called to the time I pulled out fixed and ready to go was less than two hours. I really didn’t know what I would and they took care of me!! And it was just one guy at the desk and one tech.Thanks guys!

The actual work gets a 5/5. I had four new tires put on, and it cost roughly $300 after taxes. Everything was done well and Ive had no problems! A+ all around.The communication gets a 3/5. I ordered and made an appointment online. They had to call and ask how many tires I ordered, they thought my car was supposed to be a PT Cruiser (its a Scion, and yes, I filled out the form correctly). Also, the first appointment I made the tires hadnt come in yet.Now maybe this is completely a problem with the website (perhaps some coding snafu led to the wrong info getting sent), but it was an inconvenience. The proper work and price made up for it though.

I needed my brakes fixed about 2 years ago.So I go to Just Brakes because its only $99 right? Oh this needs fixed that needs fixed. It will be $700 just for your back 2 brakes. Being the dupe I am and wanting to be safe I pay. Less than a month later on my way to work I have to pull over because my brake petal goes down to the floor and my car wont stop rolling (sick feeling). I have it towed back. All the brake fluid has leaked out. The main dude there tells me something else has gone wrong that they had nothing to do with. So much for a safety inspection. Dont go to a place for Brakes if brakes are in the name dont go to a place for tires if tires are in the name.

Flat tire with lock nut stuck at my house. They had arrangements with a tow service and had us towed, in, diagnosed and fixed in time to still make a5:00pm Mothers Day event! And at a great price including the tow.

Had a flat tire on my drive home, so after switching out the donut, brought it into the shop to see if they could plug the puncture. They were a bit busy, but I needed the tire fixed and decided to wait. When they finally got to work on it, they kept trying to find the puncture, but the tire was holding pressure and no bubbles when submerged. They finally told me that they think someone pulled a prank on me and had deflated my tire. I was really frustrated as this had wasted several hours of my day, but appreciated their thoroughness as well as the fact that they didnt charge me anything to check it out and put the tire back on. They definitely earned my appreciation for ending an otherwise crappy day on a high note.

New manager Brandon is wonderful. I received 3 quotes throughout the week for brakes and his was $50 cheaper. Andrew the technician explained and showed me everything and knew exactly what he was talking about and didnt try to talk me into fixing other things. I am so glad they have a new manager and will definitely be using them from now on.

Brendan is the new manager at the Clearwater location. I needed new brakes and he was more than fair. I had no coupons at the time of service but he took care of me and gave me a deal which was lower than I would have paid even with a coupon. Brendan is a honest guy who does great work. Nick and Brandon were very very pleasant to do business with. They got the job done quick and fast. I recently had gone to super tires plus on US 19 and they had replaced all four tires, coming to find out that super tires put all my tires on backwards and they werent balanced or weighted properly. Nick gave me new tires and did the inspection for me and was able to tell me anything and everything wrong with the car. Very helpful and I would def recommend coming to this location on Gulf to bay if you ever have anything wrong with your car. Hes the go too guy for sure. :)

Ive been in my profession for many years. I think its refreshing that the clearwater location has a manager by the name of Nicholas. If you want honest fair pricing, this is the place. My husband and I have lived here for years and we stopped coming here because of poor management. Well were here to stay, and yes its because of Nicholas , we will always come to him. Ive been at tires plus and Toyota dealer and was told crazy prices. And then we met Nicholas.I will refer Nicholas to everyone

Nick and Tim were amazing.. Nick is the new manager at the gulf to bay location and Tim is one of his techs. They explained everything to me and showed me everything. It was such a positive environment , they were so very kind and prices were affordable. Very good experience every time I go there but Ill only go when those two are working.:) They deserve a pay raise with the great work they do lol.

My family and I have been using Just Brakes for vehicle maintenance for the past 6 years. The Gulf to Bay location specifically. Ever since Nick has become the manager the store has improved to the very best location in the Tampa Bay area. Coming from an aviation background and currently working in the industry Nick applies that philosophy and unparalleled work ethic to the shop. This is the only place I feel comfortable to have a technician lay a wrench on my vehicles. Including my racecar. This review is coming from an engineers prospective and being in the automotive industry for 25 years running. These guys are the best. PERIOD

I was told by many friends to not go to Just for brakes. Well, i forgot and took my wifes car there. All I wanted was the $99 deal for brakes. By the time, they finish checking out the car, they had a bill of over $500. Supposedly, they do this to everyone. Watch out! I told them to do the $99 service and we would fix the stuff later on. I should have just went to Midas!

Ive been to Just Brakes at 1559 Gulf to Bay in Clearwater several times and have always received excellent service. They check your brakes for free and only suggest a change in brake pads if it is necessary. They are courteous and honest.

Took my car to take 5 oil change, and they could replace the oil filter... Took it here, to pep boys, they laughed then I told them take 5 couldnt do it and took care of it.Update (6/22)Lexus of Clearwater had told me that I ungently needed to change my front brakes and wanted to chafed about $500...took it to pep boys and turns out the brakes were good for another 20,000 miles... Dont deal with dishonest dealerships. The techs at this Pepboys location are very honest.

To anyone who knows myself & Nicholas. We no longer work for this company. After we put our two weeks in they decided to let us go early because they were scared an email about how the district manager here treats his employees. That is to say calling all the assistant managers thieves, foreign whomever he can to keep his job, forcing managers to work beyond their contracted hours, etch. I hold nothing against my fellow managers, but the upper management needs an overhaul in my opinion. This treatment is being allowed because they are all friends with said district manager.

What an awesome place. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable.

I bought 4 tires and requested a oil change and the manger assured me that it would be done by closing. When I came back at closing the job was only about halfway done. All the tires were dismounted and oil drained. Thanks to the staff for staying late to attempt to finish the job, but unable to finish allignment. The car wasnt ready till 2 the next day. I think manager was over booking jobs. Thanks again to the staff, but not satisfied with the manager overwhelming the staff or the time it took to complete.

Rick was fair and direct. I had been a customer from years back and got warranty break pads. The rotors needed replaced. Since the shop charges more for them than the store, he cut me a break.I dropped my rating to a 4 because the mechanic left my stering wheel covered with grease and grime. Dude, really?

Customer service is a joke and the mechanic is incompetent. 1st time they said it was ready the brake booster was leaking and they let me DRIVE my car away. 2nd time I left my brakes still went to the floor and they said, oh well. I spent a lot of $$ and now I still need to fix it myself. RUN

I had previously gotten my brakes done elsewhere and they had felt terrible. I was scared to drive in the rain because sometimes they would catch and let go and the car would keep moving. I took the car to Just Brakes and they did an excellent job, my car feels the way it used to when the brakes were fully functional. I thought the price was good for the service that I got, I did not feel they overcharge and they took care to make sure everything was working, I asked them to replace the brake pads with ceramic ones and when they did that they saw that a screw on one of the callipers was stuck and they managed to un-stick it before putting everything back together, very happy with my visit and the way the car drives.
