This place has been around since I was a kid and its just as fantastic as ever. Great selection and service. Bob, the owner, is so helpful and the entire staff makes going in here fun. Im so glad I get to shop with my son in the same place I went at his age. Ive never been in here when the entire staff wasnt on point. These 1 star reviews about service are talking about an experience Ive never had or seen here, including when I was here the weekend before Christmas.

I did not have a good experience here at all. Not enough employees. Was waiting for FOREVER to be helped with a simple purchase of a $12 item. Overpriced which is fine for a local skateshop. But this shop didnt have anything I was looking for for my SKATEBOARD set up. They have a good selection of boards and their shop decks look nice but that is about it for skateboards. There is nothing in stock for selection on wheels trucks or bearings it seems like. Their clothing selection is good and it seems like their scooter selection is good too but Im not into scooters.

This is truly one of the best places for a kid to get their gear from scooters to skateboards. The selection of clothing is amazing for all ages. I am now 56 years old and still love the stuff that they have at this shop, along with the great service and the beautiful poodles Bob the owner is one of the greatest guys and gives his all to his business. I would highly recommend going here for all your skateboard and scooter needs and the best bikinis in town. I have been going here since the mid 1980s. Thumbs up all the way.

I walked into the shop disappointed from shopping at the mall, looking for a bikini in January for a trip to Costa Rica in February.. Since its the mall, youre sure to find something, right? WRONG. There was absolutely nothing in my size. I almost gave up until I passed by Surf - Skate & Bikinis. I walked in and BAM! A whole wall dedicated to bikinis!! And in January, nonetheless! Bob, the owner, is an absolute delight! Hilariously funny, friendly and helpful. I ended up finding exactly what I was looking for, and not to mention great quality. Ill most definitely be returning!

If your aren’t going here your doing somethin wrong. Best skate shop. I drove an hour to build a scooter and they were really kind. They were jam packed at first but still completed the scooter. Very bigger variety of skate parts and scooter parts.

I got a bikini and I love it. My girlfriends love my bikini so much they want to get one for their selves.They are so helpful and nice. I was very comfortable and will be going back.

*CONTINUATION OF EASYADRIAN REVIEW ABOVE*So still no real huge biggy I always want to give benefits of the doubt for anyone but at this point I just thought maybe Ill just look at bushings and bearings to see if maybe theres still something else to purchase. When I asked if they had bones bushings he said they only have bones soft bushings but they have independent bushings and that was great no worries there but then he said that he cant feel the difference between independent bushings and bones bushings and that it should work the same and I asked oh so you ride independent bushings and have tried bones bushings too? And then he proceeded to tell me that he rides one independent bushing and one bones bushings on the bottom or something but if its all the same then why would he need to change out any of the bushings / mix and match them? I thought that in my head but honestly he could have meant like he mixes and matches them because they are so interchangeable because they are they much the same so Ill give that a pass. But anyways the next part that just kinda just was the deal breaker for me with this kid is I just said okay well screw it Ill just get the $90 bones SWISS ceramic bearings then so I at least didnt come here for nothing. He of course pills out Bones REDS ceramics and at this point Im just done and Im like nevermind but thanks anyways. So all in all I firmly believe this shop has so much potential if they just kept their spitfire wheels in stock and more selection with bushings and bearings and bearings cleaning kit and just stuff a local shop should have. I know they make decent money there and Bob and his wife are honestly some of the greatest people Ive met in a skate shop but the kid they hired who claims to be a skateboarder and must have portrayed himself as a knowledgeable employee trying to sell me anything and everything with any excuse to why its better than the thing Im actually looking for that he specifically said they had. But other than this kid kinda not know jack about specifics in skateboarding at least not enough for my taste and any friend of mine who skates would be even more shocked and unfortunately they would have been a lot more rude about it you know how the PLA boys can be haha. But yeah Bon and his Wife are very knowledgeable, Bobs wife is relatively new but she dosnt talk about stuff she dosnt know about if she dosnt know about it she will make that clear there is no BS in that store until my last experience there. If they change the layout so the part where skaters and scooter kids want to look at the boards, trucks, wheels, bearings, etcetera and it wasnt super crowded where only 2 people at a time can be over there and look at things and have maybe 2 or 3 people there in busy times to help other customers out so they dont have people waiting 10-15 min for someone to get their setup set-up to finally get helped, and kept their trucks, wheels, spitfires mainly, bearings, and miscellaneous skateboarding accessories up in stock more this place has potential to be a 5++++ star rated skate shop. I always stop here first to see if they have what I want and most of the time they dont (but their board selection is amazing and they do have a lot of stuff zumiez and vans will never carry) but other than that they dont sell skate shoes either I dont think. So last few times Ive been in there they dont have what I need even tho I want to support them over any other store but zumiez and vans always have what I need it seems like and its just like.... And they wonder why some people just shop at Zumiez and vans over there local skateshop its because of this review right here. That incompetent kid just killed my love for my local almost all the way. Idk if he was just high as a kite that day or something and messed up I will give them another chance but it affected my day enough to where Im writing a negative review specifically on that experience and saying what I have to say about the shop in my own words and relative opinion. 2 stars because at least they are honest in the description saying they are overpriced. Older woman working was rude. Other teenager working looked like he didn’t want to be there.Went in for skate hardware, cost $5 for off brand mix and matched loose hardware from a bin. Went to zumiez around the corner and got a pack of shortys hardware for $2.I rarely say this but mall skate shops are cheaper and better than this place, at least for skateboard supplies. Sorry guys.

The new employee (long grungy brown / green dye hair guy) there is literally the absolute WORST, most incompetent, lying to make a sale type of kid Ive ever met or at least in a while that Ive met. This is my local skateshop and the right thing to do is to support local business and as a skateboarder my job is to support my local skateshop. It all started out with me calling to see if they had a specific set of items (bones bearings cleaning kit, and bones swiss). When I called this kid answered (unfortunately i cant remember his name its definitely a nickname tho) but when I asked he said yes we have the bones bearings cleaning kit and no we dont have bones swiss but we have bones swiss porcelain...(which bugged me because its bones swiss ceramic not porcelain, porcelain is made different and is more dense than ceramic) but no biggy I was just happy they had the cleaning kit and I was willing to check out the bones swiss ceramics for $90. After this I immediately get in the car and drive there and when I get in its the usual thing. Pretty crowded set up if theres even one or 2 people looking at the skateboard section you have to wait your turn if you want to check anything out but its where people stand for the longest time as well because thats where they set up your scooter or skateboard or whatever. No biggy tho I like looking around, they have amazing selection of core brand SKATEBOARD clothing such as santa cruz, independent, grizzly etcetera. But once the shop cleared up a bit (usually they have one worker, but this day was 2, the kid and the owners (Bobs) wife who is super awesome and I love her as my local skate shop employeeSo basically this shop could easily be a 4 star or even 5 stars if they had maybe 2 workers on hand. So after they were done helping the other two customers I was finally able to look at the display case with all the trucks and bearings and skate section stuff. I asked where the bones bearings cleaning kit was ans Bobs wife said oh sorry we dont have any in stock right now we sold out a little bit ago and I just looked at the kid, not wanting to call him out even tho it was very obvious I said oh man that sucks I called and was told you guys had it in stock. Then the kid proceeds to bring out this other stuff Ive never heard of before that supposedly cleans bearings and lubricates them as well all at the same time without even having to take the shields off (I am not sure how accurate that information is on the product it sounded a bit too good to be true to me) but I was already slightly annoyed that I pretty much came there for nothing and was now being sold this other stuff that he seems desperately trying to show me how it works by cleaning some scooter wheel with it and so really said to me it honestly works a lot better than the bones cleaning kit and I said oh so youve tried the bones cleaning kit thing and this other alternative spray stuff works better for cleaning bearings? (thinking well you didnt even know what the bones cleaning kit thing was until a second ago when you asked what it was and we explained what it was to you)... And his answer then was YES I USE THE BONES BEARINGS CLEANER ALL THE TIME AND THIS STUFF WORKS BETTER ...SO HOLD ON FIRST OF ALL... YOU KNOW WHAT? NVERMIND THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH STUFF WRONG WITH THAT REPLY AND THE WHOLE VIBE JUST GOT BAD FOR ME FROM THEN ON WITH THIS GUY.PS my review does not end here^^^ it is just a really long review so I have to post the rest of it on a different account because there is a limit to the length fortunately and unfortunately haha. Sorry for the long review guys but its the full story and experience I had.

This store is horrible. The owner is a Proud Boy, a bigot, and just a reprehensible person. Masks are declared optional and I doubt anything is ever cleaned. Please never shop here. Their limited selection is overpriced and so not worth it.

Bob, the owner of this place is the coolest dude around. He was so awesome and patient to my kids and their 100 questions. He stayed after hours and helped us with my sons broken scooter. The store has a very welcoming vibe, with his well- behaved dogs, his music and him. Thank you for the amazing experience, didn’t know that fixing my sons scooter would bring so much light. 💜 before we knew it hours had passed and the conversation never ran out. Amazing shop run by an amazing man! My boyfriend and I came in for the first time today to buy a new skateboard deck. The kid working was very sweet and helpful. While we were there, the owner Bob came in. Hes such a nice and funny guy! We chatted with him for a while and left feeling great about our experience there. If anyone is looking for a cool, friendly, and all-around great surf and skate shop, this is the place to go!!! We will definitely be coming back!

HISTORY OF THE SHOP:Ive been going here since 96, so heres the history of the shop to my best knowledge... This is their third location since the 90s. They used to be located at Greenback Ln. and Fair Oaks Blvd until they outgrew that location. Around 1998(?), they moved to San Juan and Greenback where they had a halfpipe, but sales weaned, and they had to downsize. It only took a few years, and they had to close up the shop. Fortunately, they moved to this location and have been thriving ever since.MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE SHOP:While they may not be the cheapest skate shop, they have an amazing selection of decks and swimsuits, and their customer service is the best Ive ever had.

So, I didnt even shop there, but was treated great! My 16 month old soon and I were actually driving by and we ran out of gas. Luckily I was able to coast right into a spot in front of the shop. I stopped in the shop too let them know what happened. Bob invited us in to stay cool while we waited for roadside assistance and stayed with us a full hour after he closed. Thank you Bob!

Surf and Skate is one of those stores you could hangout in for hours. If you need info on products or custom made Skate Boards this is the store to go to. Bob Mitchell has been in the business for years and is a wealth of information. Top quality from the clothing to the sports lines. And ladies... killer swimsuits.

This store has the best scooters. I bought one for 250$ and it lasted me 3 years, and till this day Im still riding it. You should check this store out.

I love my OlaKai flip-flops from Surf Skate, my feet have never felt better. Came by this store a few month ago and was so excited when I found these beautiful bikinis. Just bought a home with a big pool so I need me some good swimsuits. I was by again last week and now there is a whole new selection of bikinis and some cute summer dresses as well. Prices are great for the nice Quality. I also have to mention the wonderful Hawaiian body lotion, got one of each cent and I smell divine if I may say so myself

I went there yesterday to buy some replacement parts for my sons scooter. And I meet Bob. He proceeds to show me some wheels, bar grips and a brake. I noticed right away he didnt try to sell me the most expensive parts in the store. He assessed that I was a parent looking for some quality parts but nothing outrageous. I smiled. Surf & Skate moved form this location to 7598-B Greenback Lane Citrus heights, Ca 95610. I wanted to let other shoppers know that I did not agree with the review written here before. This is a family owned shop and owner Bob Mitchell works in the shop everyday. I love going in there for help and always having him or another employees great customer service. Maybe the other person took customer service as employees thinking he was going to steal, but I have never gotten that feeling. I get AMAZING bikinis there every year for myself. That is why I know they moved. Their bikini selection is so great, I always hunt them down :) I also buy my brother-in-laws Christmas and birthday presents here every year. I think people need to keep in mind that in todays economy and level of competition with places like Costco and TJ Maxx, we need to support our local stores. They can then afford to have a better selection of items for us that cannot be found at discount stores. I hate going to the lake in a bikini that 1,000 other girls have purchased from Target. All in all, I love this store, their owner, and the fact that they have been working hard in this business since the early 80s. Hope this helps!

Bob is the coolest guy ive ever met, he went out of his way to give YES GIVE my two sons top of the line complete skateboards. We are from the campfire and lost everything Bob fully looked out for us. I hope GOD blesses him. I fully recommend this store. I had been in here once at each of the locations theyve been, this was my 3rd time, and the staff remembered me. I was shocked. Very friendly, no pressure atmosphere. Pricey but very good quality clothing /swimwear-year round.
