I have a 100 year old Victorian dining room table that was in desperate need of repair. It was also missing the leafs. Stephen fixed the base, managed to find quartersawn oak that was pretty close to the original grain, and made 4 new leafs for it with a skirt. All done using the same techniques from the original time period.

I took my mothers early 1900s antique rocking chair, the only keep sake I have left from her, to Stephen. He was recommended by a close personal friend. I was a little nervous to let a relative stranger work on it, as it is a dear family heirloom. However, it was in absolutely terrible shape. The seat was broken all the way through so the arm was floating attached only to the back. One of the spindles was broken and needed to be fabricated on a lathe from scratch. All of the legs were very loose, so it actually rocked in any direction you wanted, it was bad. It had become a display piece in my living room, as NOBODY was aloud to sit in it.When I got it back, I nearly wept. Truly Stephen went above and beyond. He did more work than he originally bid me on, without raising the price, and I just simply could not be happier. It is now rock solid and shining new. My children now get to sit in their grandmas favorite chair. I would recommend Stephen to anyone needing a careful, experienced carpenter who does honest, quality work, with no shortcuts.

A post on my dining room chair was broken where it joined the seat, Steven Hobbs looked at it said I can fix that and fix He did ,as good as new ,we are very happy with the repair.Great Craftsman
