Friendly staff and a wide selection of items (its big, multiple stories). They offer a UPS access point for drop offs which went off without a hitch when I dropped a package off.

Always seem to have what I’m looking for and tons of things I didn’t even realize I needed... like spray paint in pretty much every color imaginable... or drain cleaner on par with napalm (and N-95 respirators to protect you while using it!)

The staff and management at this store are excellent. I shop here often and I am always treated with respect and courtesy. I’ve only once had an issue and the manager Mike went out of his way to quickly resolve it. Mike and his team truly care about making the hardware store experience pleasant and ensuring that customers feel valued and cared for. I didn’t know I could like a hardware store so much but here we are! Thank you for such consistently positive experiences. You make renovating a house a million times easier!

This a really convenient location if youre living or working downtown. They have always been well stocked when Ive been there. Theyre helpful and friendly. If they dont have something in stock they will take your info and call you when it comes in.

After countless similar good experiences here over the last two years I finally decided to write a review since this last time they went above and beyond helping me assemble a project where I wanted to mount a large mannequin head to a wall with enough clearance to slip a VR headset on it. I had no idea how to do it but they engineered me a solution in 10-15 minutes for around $15, I thought it’d take a while to figure it out, pics included, thanks so much, I always come here when I have a tricky problem because the whole staff knows what they’re doing (and gives my 🐶 treats if I bring her)

So great have a hardware shop downtown with parking and a good selection of items. The guy downstairs in hardware is always very nice and helpful.

If you have a key that the automatic key machine cannot help with, you can come here. It has the old key machine that could duplicate key manually, which is hard to find these days.

My wife and I love this place. They seem to have just about everything you need. From gardens to bathrooms, from drill bits to puppy chow, this place has it all. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful every time weve gone in there. Its always the first place I look when prepping for a project around the home.

Woods Hardware is simply fantastic. Starting with the staff, I’ve only had positive experiences. They are attentive, friendly, and most importantly, knowledgeable. The store itself is way bigger than photos or even the storefront would lead you to believe. Consequently, they’ve always had whatever obscure tool or piece of hardware I’m looking for. This place is the best! Theyre reasonably priced and have an excellent selection. Theyre dog friendly and go out of the way to make every dog feel included. They have a phenomenal selection of healthy plants to choose from.

Acme is located just a few blocks away from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, where I go to college. Over the last 3 and a half years of being a student, I have frequently stopped by Acme (sometimes multiple times a day) for any odds and ends, hardware, and paint that I might need for a project. The staff is ALWAYS very kind and helpful when I have questions, and are able to help me find what I need. I love the convenience of the downtown location!

Sooooo glad to have a real hardware store in downtown Cincinnati. It’s 15-20 minutes to any of the big boxes. They stock what you need and have friendly knowledgeable people. And they have a parking lot as well. It’s my go to place.

The lock on my 101 year old front door with beautiful old hardware was broken. Marty from Acme came to my home and quickly repaired with some new inside parts and an antique little lever that he had on hand, which matched perfectly. I definitely wanted to keep the old hardware, and I suspect that many other locksmiths would have said, tough luck, go get a new one. Marty did a great job, Im 100% happy with Acme. Will definitely call them if I need locksmith work in the future.

Acme lock has a master locksmith that can make master lock keys.

I always come in with random requests: the owner and the staff are always helpful and willing to pick apart my request for help me find the tools I need. Most recently my wrench to unbolt a fire hydrant for pressure washing broke; they found me a giant wrench and a very strong pole for leverage--it works better than the original wrench I was using! I also had a cigarette butler with a broken key in the lock; they removed the key and made me a new one within 10 minutes. I love this store and will continue to do business as long as I work and live downtown!

The Downtown Cincinnati location is the only store that I have visited but they are all professionals and are more than happy to assist whenever they can. We visit the store 2-3 times a week due to the work we do downtown and we refer everyone looking for odds and ends to this location. We are not only blessed to have a store such as Acme lock in downtown but we are blessed to have the great people that work inside this store as well.

I wish I could go lower ! the ACME store in Covington KY is great ( 5 stars ) . The one in Cincinnati is a waste and so is the one rough looking male who is the only employee there too. It looks like there is a wide selection but if you plan on the one employee to find something or just getting a simple key made then forget it . I spent 20 minutes of time wasted while he was talking to friends and then he would not help me find a simple thing also there is no parking anywhere unless you park in a lot for 8 dollars , I had to park 5 blocks away ,only did it because i wanted to see an old time store . Please DONT WASTE YOUR TIME going there ! ! !

I called first to check on if an item was in store, the lady was very polite on the phone, once i arrived she remembered me from the phone call and proceeded to help me immediately, i interacted with another staff member who was very polite also and help me find what i was looking for.

I was having a crappie day to be honest and he was just funny and fun, it really goes to show that no matter how cranky someone might be when you come in contact with them, you can always be the one to make them smile. Every time I go to Acme Lock and Hardware, I am always impressed with the knowledgable and warm staff. Acme Lock and Hardware is a breath of fresh air in the world of big chains where it is hard to find someone who knows what they are talking about. At Acme, I always get the help I need and find the right tool for the job. Very impressed!

As a former student at the Art Academy, Acme was always my #1 go to for various projects. Their convenient downtown location was a short walk and the people there were always super nice. I dont think I ever went there and couldnt find what I needed. They carry a little bit of everything from wood stains to drill bits and several drawers of hardware. Also, if you need a key made then this is the place to go! Plus, theyre located right next to the street car route, so you can ride there in a jif!

Always find exactly what I went their looking for. Tools, paint, electrical supplies and more. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.Picked up a couple things yesterday. When I got my receipt, I was also given a coupon for 10% off my next purchase. Cant beat that.

Quick service; excellent price. I went to two other shops to re-key a lock. Both had to wait for tech to return and said it could be done in 24 hours if they had parts. Both quoted prices in the $50-$70 range. Acme Lock in Covington had the job done in a couple of hours and charged me a third of the prices quoted by the others.

I needed both of my keyless remotes for a Toyota replaced. I had them order the new fobs ahead of time using the FCC number on the back. While there was some confusion at first, I blame that mostly on AAA scheduling. The staff at the 9th street downtown location on a Saturday was top notch. Their understanding of these high tech systems was spot on and much more reasonable than going to the dealership. Work was completed professionally and quickly, I would recommend Acme/Woods to do this work over the dealership.

It is such a breath of fresh air to have discovered this store. The personal attention you get is so spot on, so customer service friendly....it is the EXACT opposite of the large box stores. It was also a shock that I can get EVERYTHING from this store that I could from the megastores...with 1000% more personal service. You can hop into this little gem and get a single bolt (try that at Lowes!) and be out in seconds...not 20 minutes (try to find someone at Home Depot!).The world needs more stores like this....I cant thank Acme Lock and Hardware enough!
