Stopped in this dealership approximately two weeks ago. They were doing appointments due to the government rules with current events. They did allow me to tour some of the homes. The staff was friendly. I wanted to schedule an appointment to go back and speak to them in more detail. I was told the sales representative I would be speaking to would be out of the office the following day and working from their residence. I was also told the sales representative would contact me the following day upon returning to the office. I was not called to schedule an appointment. I would have given a 1 star rating, but since the staff was friendly, I gave them a two. This rating is based on lack of customer service and not calling to schedule an appointment. If anyone is reading the response from Clayton saying they called, I received no such telephone call. I double checked my call history.

We had many problems with the process of buying it. Then once in place it took almost three weeks to get our keys and did a final inspection. Found many issues with our new home. Then a few days after moving in we had our first serious rain in months. And we had a serious leak around the fan above the toilet. We called. To get this issue taken care of it seems now they got thier money they dont seem to care about things getting fixed. Very disapointed on how they build these homes. So cheap for the price they want for them. What happen to workers in thier pride in workmanship?Unhappy home owner. I would Deffinately not recommend buying a Clayton home ever and deal WITH the people in Chillicothe Ohio. Terrible customer service.

Customer service was great and homes were nice. Employees all are awesome and they were great with my children. I called before showing up and Bree answered all my questions. Once we were there many employees made sure my family and I were taken care off. Bree explained everything far as the home, process and paperwork in detail. Will and do recommend if you are looking for a home.

Everyone that we have delt with has been awesome!! Very professional and helpful with helping us choose which double wide we wanted. At first the prices listed inside the homes gave us sticker shock until Brie and Denver let us know that everything was on a HUGE sale until the end of August. We were able to choose the up grades and color scheme and even change a few things around and they were awesome!! The financing was a breeze and Denver was AWESOME about getting the changes we wanted from his rep and Clayton homes are by far the best mobile homes that are out there!! With our up grades you cant even tell that its a mobile home and even with our up grades we are still below the original price. You have no idea how happy we are with our new home!!

Purchased a home from them and it was delivered quickly but then it sat without anyone working on it. Had to call constantly to get it finished. The work is horrific. The trim doesnt match up, there was drywall mud all over the kitchen floor. The skirting was put on at night with the workers using the headlights of their vehicles so needless to say its a disaster. They didnt vent the skirting so when they came back to do it they only put screws in the bottom corners so the vents fell out. We were told they wasnt going to do anything about it. All they want is the money.

As I tie up loose ends before 2014 comes to an end, I must share an experience I had with Clayton Homes. Last year I decided to move next door to my son’s family, and after much research, we determined that purchasing a mobile home as the second home, fit our needs best. After looking for a used model, I found one with Clayton Homes (CMH) in Chillicothe, Ohio. A local family needed to upgrade to a larger mobile home, and as part of the purchase, they had traded in their home they had purchased from Clayton homes a few years ago. I was told by the Chillicothe CMH manager that if I was interested in purchasing the used home, I must do so “as is” and would be responsible for moving it from the owner’s property to mine. What I didn’t know at the time was that the home had an infestation of bedbugs. I moved the trailer onto my property and was in and out over a period of a few days with my son’s family, which included my 3 young grandchildren, preparing it to receive a new coat of paint inside. One of the last things I did was remove the curtains, take them across the yard to the home I was currently living in, and throw them into the washer. As I did, a bug ran up my arm. I killed it, discovered another one, and then with horror, realized we were dealing with bedbugs. We ended up halting all activity at the mobile home until we could have the home inspected, and determine what course of treatment we would go with. Since additional bugs could have escaped into the house from the curtains, and my son’s family could have carried them to their home, we decided to treat the perimeters of the rooms of both homes with diatomaceous earth. This involved many hours of wearing masks and squirting heavy dust from condiment bottles along all the walls of the homes we were living in at the time. I also treated around my bed, coated the legs of the bed with petroleum jelly, and checked my bed and my body daily for signs of infestation. In the meantime, I had left a message for the manager from the Chillicothe office to call me regarding the situation. She eventually returned my call, expressed her regret at what happened, reminded me I had bought the home “as is”, and recommended that I go online and purchase a chemical for a couple of hundred dollars. When I told her that was unacceptable, she told me she was making a trip to their main office in a few days, and assured me she would discuss the situation with her supervisors and get back with me. After several days of not receiving a call, I contacted her again and was told that Clayton Homes would not be taking any action with the problem. By this time, I had done extensive research, consulted with 3 exterminators and decided to have the home heat treated, at the cost of $800. I called the Clayton Homes main office to get the name and address of the person to send a letter to. I was told that before I was given that information, I must file a complaint over the phone. Once I did that, I was assured I would be contacted by phone within the next couple of days. That never happened. I wrote a three page letter detailing my experience and sent it by registered mail. The letter was signed for by someone at CMH headquarters, but I was never contacted by anyone. This has been a very upsetting and costly experience, which also delayed the plans my family had made in order for all of us to be moved in and settled by a given date. It is my opinion that through this experience with Clayton Homes, the company has displayed their lack of integrity, and that people need to seriously think twice before considering the purchase of a home through them. I believe that the company is more interested in the monetary end of their sales than with the satisfaction and well-being of customers.
