Its been 3 weeks and Im still irritated at the POOR salesmanship and the overall negative vibe from this place. My bike was priced $50 more than the MSRP AND was still told to YouTube my question about the bikes gears. Wow. Will never go there again much less trust them for the free years worth of servicing.

This was the best experience I have ever had buying a bicycle. First I was welcomed. I said I wanted an extra-large bicycle and they had 2! Ive searched most of the state on the internet and only found 1 online in Florida. I am from Arroyo Grande and just happed to make the turn by the bicycle shop and pulled over and went in on a lark. All the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. The bike was set-up and adjusted for my height, I got to test drive it. Perfect. When I came back the staff decided it would be a better fit with an extender for the handle bars. They were right. The bicycle fits like a dream. I have bought 4 other bicycles from various shops around the state and have never received the customer service and caring like I got with Campus Bicycles. Thank you very much for going the extra mile!!Buy your bicycle here! You wont regret it!

I went into replace my old bike and i found the staff were quite friendly and knowledgeable about the various bikes. They allowed me to test ride the bikes I was interested in with no hassle. Overall I had a great experience with Campus Bicycles and will return again when it is time to buy another bike.

I asked how much their cheapest helmet would cost and they said $100. I said that that was ridiculous and asked if they knew where I might find a less expensive helmet. The woman who worked there told me I would have to find that out myself. I walked around the corner and got a new helmet for $48.00.

I recently had a tri bike and a mountain bike tuned up here and they did a wonderful job as I could tell quite the difference in performance. The staff was friendly and service was superlative. Overall a little pricey but shouldn’t have to have it done for some time again.

I was on vacation for two weeks, and needed a bike. I got a long-term rental for a great price, as well as helmet and lock. The light I purchased didnt work, and they replaced it with no questions. The staff is cheerful and friendly and they obviously enjoy their customers. They have an adorable puppy to entertain yourself with while they get you set up. I highly recommend the store.

Very friendly, enthusiastic staff. Drove to Chico from Reno because this is the nearest store that stocks All-City Cycles. Absolutely stoked on the All-City Space Horse, cant get enough of this bike, and it seems like the rest of the staff likes the brand as well. Thanks again!

Had a positive initial visit to Campus bicycles. Staff was friendly. Bought a new MTB tire and had it installed tubeless. A few rides on the tire resulted in the seal coming unglued while riding low speed on flat ground. I expected that staff would happily repair and re-glue the tire given that they had so recently installed. Maybe this expectation was unreasonable or the flat was my fault, but when I arrived, the response just left a bad taste in my mouth. Staff suggested that I should be fixing flats on my own with a strong implication that they didnt have time to address issues like that. That is understandable if the tire had not come unglued after recently having installed, but it felt like an insult. My experience after that was predominately negative. After being quoted a price, I asked if they would waive the price given that they had just installed the tire, unless they could explain why I had caused the flat. They offered to reduce the price but the whole experience just rubbed me the wrong way. I have had very good experiences at Pullins Cyclery and North Rim. Given the options, theres no reason I will go back here. Cannot recommend.

I am in love with my new FX 3 Trek from Campus Bicycles. Ryan was incredibly helpful from getting the fit just right on my seat to switching out the stem and pedals to suit my particular needs/wants in a bike. He was on top of everything! Even called me to let me know Trek updated their stock with the new 2019 bikes so I could order one in the color I wanted before they went out of stock again. Seriously amazing service. Thanks for helping me!

I bought a bike here years ago and had a good experience then. But recently I came in to have some work done on my bike and I was pretty turned off by the personality of the guy working. Im a grown-ass woman, Im in my 30s, and being called kiddo is pretty flipping annoying from some middle aged guy who should really know better.Otherwise, the work was completed satisfactorily and ahead of schedule, so that was good. People skills, though. You know?

Most friendly biketechnician ever. Very warm welcome. We had problems with rearwheel. Spokes kept breaking. After some research, conclusion was that the tension in the spokes was too low. Fixed everything, replaced some spokes and the next morning the bike was ready to go. Did the North rim trail. A real spoke killer, but wheel survived. Great job and great service. Thanks.

Chris at campus bikes was a great help in buying my wifes commute bike. We first went to the other trek shop around the block and wasnt welcomed with any smiles and they had a very rude attitude. With campus bikes being with in walking, we headed over. Chris and the young lady, cant remember her name sorry, were great help in fitting the bike and helped us deck it out with everything she would need, love the chico bike community!

Let me start off by saying that i am extremely reliant on my bike. I am constantly alternating between school and work, so when i take my bike or any other item in for repairs, i expect a quality job. This was not the case with Campus Bicycles. I took my bike in for a standard tune up and told them some of the specific issues that i wanted them to address. I told them about my chain tensioner with missing teeth, and bent rims. I also told them to get the price below 200$, which they did. But they were a little too budget conscious because they seriously skimped on the repairs. When i got the bike back it looked the same. Everything i told them to replace they didnt (instead of replacing the chain tensioner, they just ground off the broken teeth, causing the chain to slide off the gear). After paying for 115$ i attempted to ride my bike home. Down the road my tire popped out of my rim and locked the rear tire to the brakes. I was very surprised and lucky that i or anyone else didnt get hurt. I took my bike back and they actually charged me for new tires. Again, i paid for repairs so i expect a perfectly working bike when i receive it, and if it isnt they should pay for the parts because they messed up. So i purchased the tires, and waited for them to install them. Afterwards the bike performed much better, but they didnt do anything that i couldnt have done myself. Which is what i shouldve done. Also, the seat and kickstand were left loose. So my seat was constantly swaying and my kick stand kept moving into the path of the pedal, prohibiting pedaling. A week later after receiving the bike the chain tensioner which i told them to replace (but they didnt) broke. I was lucky i was able to get home with my chain barely on and dragging on the ground. I personally feel that i was completely ripped off and Campus Bicycles will never be receiving me or anyone i knows business again. Instead i will be taking it to North Rim, which i advise anyone who is reading this to take their bike to instead. Now i have to scramble to figure out a way to get to school and work everyday because they messed up. My advice to Campus is to ride customers bicycles before you return them to their owner, and if something needs to replaced, replace it. Any reputable repair shop should know to replace a broken part, even if it costs a little more. And i wouldve been willing to pay for it because i asked for it, and they wouldve made more money but they chose to leave it. That way you can avoid what happened with me, and gain customers instead of losing them.

Stuck up and over priced. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the other 20 bike shops in Chico. One bad apple spoils the bunch, and by paying exorbitant prices at one place it justifies all others to raise their prices to match. It’s this type of business that does a disservice to the community it’s supposed to serve.
