I bought my own parts to have them installed. A converter and O2 sensor. The week before they told me it would be $1,000 if they got the parts and installed them. So I bought my parts on line for a fraction of what retail stores would cost. Anyway the owner told me it would be $450 to install the parts. I know this is too much to pay because Ive been buying my own parts and having them installed for years. I packed up my parts and took them down the street and was charged $200 to install the parts. They are nice people but shop around before you spend your money.

I’m a full time dad and part time educator... I came in to get my VW van done and I had the wrong parts... these guys got the right parts and still gave me an amazing discount. Too so much stress off my shoulders and great fast service.. I will definitely be back for other work... great people reasonable..

Payless Muffler and Brakes is among the best repair shops for mufflers, brakes...and most engine trouble.Steve and his staff do expert work, are friendly and well-priced.The shop serves as a museum for collectibles, cultural pieces and nostalgic oddities certain to capture the attention if a motorist waiting for their baby to be doctored.Oh!, and they always have on a fresh pot of coffee for waiting customers.*** Arrive early. Payless has three bays, and still fills up fast.

Steve is the man! Cant thank them enough for all the work theyve done on my cars. From custom exhaust on my cars to catalytic converter replacements, they can do it all. Very honest and years of experience under their belts. Payless is the only place Ill bring my cars for exhaust work and maintenance.

The owner, Steve, is a great guy!!! Ive taken more than one of my cars to them. Ive recommended them to other people. They are reasonable and very helpful, as well as TRUSTWORTHY! Which makes a very big difference to me, especially if youre a woman or someone who doesnt know much about cars.

Service is great but not for the price only reason I give 5 star. I recently came here to get my catalytic converter change which was 700 but then I came back to get a tune up which was also 700 but I didn’t get the work done till I found out that you really just need to buy the parts from rockauto or autozone and have a mechanic you or someone you may know fix the problem for way less. I spent over 1500 worth of work when I could of saved and only spent 350 but of course they wouldn’t tell you that them knowing you don’t know much about a car.

One of the best auto shops in the Chicagoland/ indiana area PERIOD... these guys are serious about there job and guarantee there work..

I have an older mercedes benz, which needed a lot of work done to it. I was scared to take it to the dealership due to the fact that they are so expensive. I heard about this place a few times through friends and family so I decided to try it out. I was really impressed with the quality of work that was done to my car and how much i was able to save. Highly recommend this shop and will definitely be going there again in the future.

This place is the best. Extremely friendly staff and absolutely great price. They replaced all 4 rotors and brakes and and Oil change on my Chrysler 300 for a low and unbeatable low price. I highly recommend this shop and will be my go to shop from now on!

We want to sincerely thank the gentlemen who worked on our car and the owner Steve Andric for being so kind and accommodating. Nobody wants to blow a coolant system part right before the Skyway, particularly not with 2 kids and 100 miles from home in a strange place. We called, they got us right in and back on the road within an hour. They charged a fair price and we had a great time while waiting for our car. My kids had a great time eating the bananas they gave them too. Thanks again for great and friendly service.

The best place in town, better than any muffler/ Brake place Ive been in years, quality parts, quality Work, and Service is second to none, and prices are reasonable, I had an estimate at another muffler shop that quoted me a price of$260,00 , went to Payless muffler and paid $180,00 for the same thing, outstanding, ask for Steve, hes the Owner, tell him I sent ya, you wont be disappointed, Belive me !
