Second City Scooters is an excellent shop, run by a great crew. Every time Ive visited (whether initial visit, purchase, maintenance, etc), Ive had a great experience and theyve helped me out 100%. Id recommend anyone in the market for a scooter to go here. Dont mind the alley, the scooter is parked at my old spot - not the storefront.

Purchasing my first scooter with Second City Scooters was an excellent experience. Vince and Jorge were very knowledgeable and made my buying experience very painless. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to come into the store to purchase a scooter because their appointment times were booked up but Vince opened up the store a little early so I could come in. Vince helped me pick the perfect scooter. They were even able to help me with delivery to my home. I will be returning to Second City Scooters with all of my future scooter needs and have referred all of my friends and family who now want to purchase scooters of their own.

These guys are awesome. I dont usually post reviews anywhere unless things are REALLY good or REALLY bad. I came in for a rear tire and inconvenienced them for a full tune-up and Vince squeezed me into their busy schedule. I told him my scooter didnt electric start and that I would try to charge it when I got home, and Vince even tried charging it (unsuccessfully) and called me to ask if I wanted to get a new battery right then so I wouldnt have to come back (again, their appointment dates were 2 week leads and they were really busy). In the end, Vince let me into the building after close to pay and pick up my scooter. All said and done, the cost was much less than I was dreading! I couldnt have had a better experience with Vince and SCS and Ill definitely be recommending them.

Always had a good experience with Second City. I had two scooters and have brought them both in for service. Recommend them to all scooter enthusiasts!

My wife and I bought a scooter here. I bought the CityCom 300iWe had a tire and mirror issue with in the first week or so. The store had us bring the scooter right back and replaced the wheel and the mirrors are ordered. All in all good service. Great Scooter!

5 stars. I dont give them out frequently but Vince and the Second City team get them. They are active in the Scooter community and know how to fix scoots. Recent repair services to my Zhen 150 were great! Service work was on time and on budget.They got my baby back, baby back on the road! Best to call or make an appointment as their hours can vary.I miss the Sunday taco truck...Dang Covid19.

Trash employees dirty as the trash scooters selling. No wonder there only open for 2 hours a week.

I had the pleasure of working with the owner when purchasing my scooter! I went in and asked as many questions as I could think of, slept on it and went to purchase the next day! They are in no way salesmen, nor are they pushy. It made me really enjoy my experience. It felt like I was just hanging out with a friend talking scooters. What great service! Theyre even delivering mine for a reasonable fee! I couldnt be happier!!

The owner is very cool and super helpful. The prices are very reasonable and there is some great stuff in the shop. During the summer they can, sadly for me and great for the Im sure, be slammed. I had to wait a month just to be able to take my scooter in to be looked at. Thankful they will work on any type of scooter. Some others in the city will not work on generic Chinese scooters but they do. I had the bore new threading into the exhaust manifold which can be tricky but they did a great job of it. I will definitely be bringing my scooter back here when something inevitably goes wrong with it again.

Best moped/scooter service Ive experienced in my 3 years of driving a moped year round in the city & Ive been to many places and I will never go anywhere else! They answered the phone, they listened, they gave great advice and the best customer service & product service I have experienced. No mansplaining, no dismissiveness, no maybes, just great support for my moped/scooter needs. Very well run scooter store! The owner has done a great job of providing menu-style pricing similar to Carmax. The service at this place is very quick and a lot of times no appointment is necessary.I bought a scooter from a friend that originally bought it here, came in with questions, and they still treated me like a new customer!Highly recommended!

The experience was exactly how it should be:1. I made an appointment for a before season tuneup of my Buddy 1252. Was told it would be 1.5 hours on the phone3. Went in the next day and dropped off the bike at the designated time4. Went to a coffee shop for 1.5 hours while they worked on it5. Returned on time to my scooter that was running better than ever.There was one issue with a light on my bike and the shop owner was upfront that he could order a new one for me, but hot glue would do the trick just as well and would be free, so we went with that.Overall, Second City Scooters an honest scooter shop that does great work at a fair price. What more could you want?

Vince answered and not only did he know what I was talking about(I called dozens of places all over the country previous to this call), he spent a good deal of time on the telephone going over the points of importance. Im considering buying a bike next year so I went to Second city scooters and I was impressed with the customer service. I went in with alot of questions. He got up from behind his computer and spent time with me answering all of my questions. He was not pushy and did not try to make me buy now, but he was very kind and understanding. Its clear theyre passionate about this business so I recommend them to everyone I know. Theyve helped me in understanding everything from getting the proper permits, to over-the-phone assistance when my scooter broke down. Chicago is a great city for scooters and this is the place to go!

These guys are very knowledgeable and helpful. Ive been here several times and they always have what I need. They have OEM and aftermarket parts so they wont send you away when you ask for upgrades, like other places do. They also have used scooter parts and very reasonable prices. This is the only scooter place I go to now.

Got an oil change for my 49 cc Cabo. They were efficient and friendly.

Check your oil level after an oil change!!!! They put way too much and my engine was making weird noise..I had to drain some out and the noise is gone. Yikes! Nice peope but not so great oil change.. Going to Scooter Works from now on..

Okay, so I usually stay away from fancy automotive shops or steer ships and do most of my car and motorcycle work myself but there are some times you need to take your motorcycle to an experienced tech. This is where these people chile in. They have an amazing storefront with several collection of Taiwanese scooters and motorcycles. Store is very clean and well mentained. The owner or manager is very nice guy. He always helps me out with my issues regarding my Sym motorcycle. I once broke a clutch cable and they were the only dealers to have it for 25 dollars while others were asking 60-100 dollars!!!In short they are honest and reliable!I sold my Taiwanese motorcycle but I bet i will be coming back for other stuff.

Buyer beware: DO NOT BUY A SCOOTER FROM THIS STORE.Remember: when you buy cheap, you get cheap. This store sells scooters manufactured in China, and everything youve ever heard about Chinese scooters is true. This is my Second City horror story:I came in a year and a half ago and fell in love with the price and style of the Lance Cali Classic. Ive always wanted a scooter and at $2,100 it seemed like a great deal. Two weeks into owning the scooter it broke down. I was in and out of the shop all summer getting it fixed. They gave me a loaner, it broke down too. They finally replaced the bike with a brand new one, and guess what, that broke down.And who was to blame? Certainly not the rickety scooter with its cheap parts (at one point the handle bars almost came off), its over rumbly engine (which they didnt know how to fix), or its uncanny ability to lose power while going 40mph on a busy street (these scooters are unsafe, and very dangerous).Heres the problem with buying a cheap bike from Second City Scooters. First of all, when it breaks down, you have to take it to them to get it fixed. Because NO ONE else in town is willing to service these bikes. So what will you do when the parts and service are no longer under warranty? Youll be spending a ton of money in their shop to keep your problematic bike running.Please, please, please heed my warning and dont make the same mistake I did. Ive already run into three other people who bought their bikes at Second City Scooters and had the same experience I did. Why nobody has spoken up on YELP is beyond me. Had someone written a review like the one Im writing now, it would have saved me a year and a half of headaches.Spend the extra money on a good bike. One that doesnt have to be serviced every 300 miles. One that doesnt lose engine power mid-ride. One that wont leave you stranded on the side of the road. Dont be fooled by these Second City Scammers.
