Great neighborhood hardware store. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good selection of tools and other items. They dont have as much as the large big box stores, but have a good selection and the staff is more accessible than at those other large stores.

So, Ive been coming to this location for a long a time. I have lots of projects downtown and it is very convenient for me. Well, today was the last time. I have enough of the rude employees here. Im not going to endure that any longer. I rather drive few minutes longer to Irving Park location where employees are always professional.

The paint department is fantastic. They computer matched the color of a saddlebag I scratched. I had no idea they could take whatever paint color you needed and put it in a spray can. Everything they did worked out great, and the color was a prefect match to the original Ducati paint.

Horrible customer service, three guys hanging out together I said excuse me can you help me and they were very rude and unhelpful told me go all the way that way it’s somewhere on the wall was the response when I asked what I was looking for. Definitely not a place to shop at if you will be needing help these people are incompetent and very unhelpful

I was pleasantly surprised to find this hardware store during a chance walk in the neighborhood. It happened I needed something. I was able to get help from the people working in the store. They were courteous and knowledgeable. There seemed to be quite a few people on hand to offer help.

Great hardware store in West Loop! The staff are always incredibly helpful and friendly. They have a very extensive inventory with everything you would expect to be able to find at a hardware store. They are dog friendly and always have treats for them. (Often also have coffee and cookies/donuts for the people too!)

Legitimately the best experience I have had at a hardware store in my life!I am a first time home owner and I decided I was going to do some demo and a few adjustments to my place. I would rank myself on the low end of handy. I sanded and stained a table once, but that is about the extent of my DIY skills. So, basically I had bitten off way more than I can chew.I was walking by the True Value the other day (Sat, Dec 2) I needed a few things. They were technically closed but Victor was outside and told us to come on in.He showed us around and gave us an in depth instructions on how to use all the things that we bought (remember, I am not a handy person). I was planning on capping a natural gas line and some electrical. He gave us the appropriate caps 3/4, 1/2, and 1 inch, I didnt know how big the pipe was. He didnt charge me for the caps. He told me to use the right one and bring back the others.Now, this is the reason my experience was way above an beyond anything I have ever experienced. Before I left, Victor gave me his card and cell number and told me to call him if I had any issues.Obviously, I had issues. I tried to cap the gas line but the sheer fear of messing with gas and risking blowing myself up was just too much. I have seen enough Michael Bay movies to know that if you smell gas, get the hell out of there.So, the next day I called Victor and asked if he could recommend a plumber or someone with the know-how to cap my line. Instead of recommending someone he came over to my place 45 minutes later with his tools and removed the piping and capped my line. This was one day before his store officially opened. So, I could imagine he had a bunch of stuff to do. But, he came over to help me out. I tried to offer him some money for his time and he refused to take it.SUPER STAND UP GUY. I WILL ONLY BE GOING TO THAT HARDWARE STORE FOR ALL MY NEEDS FROM HERE ON OUT.Victor, you are the best.

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! We needed a lightbulb and showed up 2 minutes after they closed for the evening. One of the workers saw us walking away and ran out to ask if we had a quick purchase. They let us and our dog in and we were on our way in minutes. Local neighborhood feel and great customer service will keep us coming back!

I have lived in the West Loop for 37 years When I first arrived there was a wide collection of services.As time passed the independent hardware and lumber and paint etc. stores all left. This new store replaces all the missing businesses that went away.I can go 3 blocks and get anything that I need to do a project or repair.What a great resource for anyone living in the West Loop

Unfortunately they didnt have what I needed but this is a store needed in this area. They have a large area with many products and even though they didnt have mine Im sure they will next time I need them. Very good store and staff.

Jake provided excellent advice + customer service for my painting project. Jake put all my paint information in JC Licht customer file so that I can match custom colors in the future + he gave me environmentally clean tips for unused paint: give them to a local art school, they love paint.

Ok, I had to do some painting for my condo because a pipe burst and it was terrible. Moving on, I needed to match a color to EXACTLY what the existing color was. I was skeptical if they could match it or not but the result was pretty much dead on! word of caution - try to always know what existing type of paint was used if you buy a house because the eggshell at this place is a little different than home depot they said. I think my old paint was from home depot because it is slightly off. Either way, it looks good and you can barely tell.

They are not open till 8pm like it states on Google. They close at 5:30pm. Very disappointed that I had to drive in traffic to find out they are closed. At least at Sherwin Williams you get quality paint with reliable locations!

This is a great classic hardware store, and you can certainly get all of your home improvement needs - screws, paint, wallpaper, plumbing repair, and tools. However, I go in primarily for cleaning supplies and dog supplies. They have a nice (though limited) selection of cleaning supplies, including paper products, various cleaning chemicals, laundry products, soaps, and things like Swiffers, dish towels, etc. I find it very convenient to come here for cleaning supplies rather than going to the grocery store - especially convenient if you have a car since they have free parking.I also love that they are dog friendly. My pup loves going shopping with me, and loves to follow the paw prints on the floor from the front door to the pet section. They have a selection of dog foods, treats, collars/leashes, and toys. While Ive never really paid attention, I think they have things for other types of animals too. The employees also love dogs - one of the men who works there gets excited to give my pup a treat when we check out.
