The main reason why I came to this supermarket was to find my Tea, and my surprise was not only the Tea, you can buy frogs, crabs, lobster, grub, eels and much more! Its amazing and I congratulate you for the excellent attention! They really are one of the best suppliers that the people of China have here in Chicago.

This store almost everything I need and produce is always fresh. This is my go-to market in Chinatown.

Cashier doesnt want to communicate with back staff when we wanted to get a whole box of a certain product. We had to go to the back to tell them but then they didnt speak English so she had to translate anyway. Space is tight here, and the back end staff was pushing an empty dolly around rolled it over my toddlers foot and didnt even turn around to apologize.

- Very fresh vegetables and fruits with low price tags- Amazing organic “land-runner” chicken for the best soup in this life- Great selection of meat and seafood. Has tanks of live fish and seafood to choose from- A wide selection of products from spices to snacks to frozen foods. I can get everything I need in this one place.- No-nonsense attitude that some would call rude with very narrow aisles that get crowded easily, which makes this place as authentic as it gets! It reminds me of Hong Kong thirty years ago. Love it!

A hidden gem in Chinatown. Clean grocery store with a surprise variety of goods for its size. My go to place for vegetables, seasonings, and hot pot beef! And they occasionally throw in a free item!

The store smells like cigarette smoke even though a no smoking sign is posted on the wall. The meat and seafood sections have a very strong foul odor. The owner forces to customers to buy produce that is prepackaged and there are signs posted everywhere warning customers of what not to do. Terrible shopping experience.

Convenient location. Personally I find their vegetables better quality than other Chinese groceries. Credit card only if spent more than $20

A bit crowded and fishy for this vegetarian. A good example of a good, ethnic grocery not bending over to Americanized tastes. They carry Angry Lady Chili Sauce, so it was worth elbowing my way through to get it!

Traditional Asian grocery with pretty much anything under the sun as far as products. Durian (got it), sauces (No problem). Great produce selection and their Live food counter ensures your chosen meal is as fresh as it can be with a huge variety available.

Terrible experience!! Would not recommend coming to this place to buy seafood!! The seafood I bought was not fresh and one of the crabs they gave me was not what I had wanted or picked, but they still charged me extra!!! Horrible!

BEWARE OF THIS DISHONEST STORE!! DO NOT come here. they sell almost expired/expired foods and drinks. Disappointingly, after I got home, I noticed the 4 packs of drinks I bought are two days away from expiring. Even worse, they do not accept exchange/return/refund. If you shop here, make sure you double check the expiry date. However, I will never come back again and WILL NOT suggest anyone to shop here.

I teach cooking classes. And this is definitely my favorite store in chinatown to shop for authentic asian ingredients. Highly recommend it. Just make sure you have cash because anything below 20 dollars is not allowed to be paid with card.

Be careful of buying a live fish here. The staff would change a dead fish for live fish you picked from the fish tank if you don’t pay attention and scoop some fish blood on a dead fish and tells you “ we just killed it, see, there is still blood on it “ Sneaky.

My mother actually shops at this store all the time but they have poor customer service they treated my mother with no respect discriminating her for no apparent reason taking advantage of an old person. I will definitely be reporting them to the better business bureau for bad business practice

Very Bitter Chinese cabbage. Inside has become bad. Moreover, they use one outside layer of good loose leaves to cover bad core.

This is a tiny supermarket with lots of fresh foods. I do recommend coming for their fresh meats & fish, and they have a decent frozen section.

I finally popped my dim-sum cherry (I was holding out for way too long) and I was not disappointed with Mayflower. We were referred by one of the workers at the gift shop about 2 stores down from Mayflower. She said that its her favorite place to eat when shes on break. She lived up to her promise.My friend and I ordered the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Fried Shrimp Balls, Quail Egg & Pork Shumai, Shrimp Dumplings, and a Deep Fried Delicious Dumpling - which was mouthwatering and delicious.The final bill - a little over $15! Now, the food here filled us up with a enough room for dessert. My friend and I are known to eat a lot and we were surprised with the final outcome.I would definetly go back and try their lunch specials (they have a good selection at $4.95 a plate). Friendly service - cheap - amazing dim sum.I do not regret losing it to Mayflower.

Good large place, has most of what I search for are good prices, as well as some curious items you wouldnt expect: I recommend exploring the freezers.

Its ok, very disgusting. I always fly back on time when I go to this place. There is fresh and alive food, fish, crabs, turtles and eel. Despite it does not have the best quality, there is a whole world of surprising food, ingredients and anything you can imagine. I recomend this place if you visit Chinatown to know how a real chinese place look like. They hardly speak few words in English.

I have purchased one pack Meixiang brand Songhua preserved Duck Egges, 2 of 8 are smell. The store staff told me anything you purchased from that store will not allow to be exchanged or returned even if that merchandise quality is bad. Custom should directly contact it to the producer. The service from that store is very poor.I bought Meixiang Brand Songhua Preserved Eggs in this supermarket. Two of them were found to be smelly after opening the package. I discussed with the owner whether to change them, but they were rejected. If the customer finds the manufacturer on their own, the store will not be liable. The service attitude of this store is extremely poor. After you buy something, you must open the package and check it in time, otherwise the customer will suffer. I really don’t know that this Chinese boss is doing business like this, and he doesn’t talk about integrity in a store, so annoying!
