Wonderfully curated corner store, with plenty of great offerings that a Chef could die for! Whether youre in the mood for a good cider, or in need of a few ingredients to make that Ramen that youve been itching to make, L&M has something for you. Theyve got a deli counter that makes great breakfast and lunch sandwiches and the meat selections are really solid.

My experience here was really unpleasant. I asked a very simple question politely, which was: how much did cuts of meat in the display generally weigh, as they were priced by lb (and very expensive mind you). The lady behind the counter gave me a look and said “let me grab the butcher because he would know”. She grabs another employee who also gives me a look as if the question was stupid and makes me repeat the question…and then, while I’m sitting there in front of the counter waiting for him to wrap it in paper, decides to chuckle and shrug his shoulders with the butcher. Literally in front of my face. Cold, brief exchange with the cashier after he had just laughed and chatted with a regular about their gluten free preferences. I don’t know if I had an isolated bad experience but this place definitely gives off a very pretentious vibe. I’m sorry you thought my question was stupid but I definitely won’t be coming back here.

Nice workers and delicious sandwiches. Watch the prices on the other stuff through. I accidentally bought a $6 bag of potato chips. Stick to the $2 Lays from 7-Eleven.

So incredibly happy that L&M opened up in North Center! They have an awesome selection of cheese, cured meats or meat to be cooked at home and endless artisan products that can be hard to find. They also have grab and go food and daily necessities so its the perfect place to stop if you need to pick up something last minute.

I love this place. Its right next to Welles park which makes it the perfect picnic product provider. Great sandwiches. Excellent alcohol selection. Awesome pimento cheese

Their BLTs are fire. Theres always a plethora of Jenis ice cream options. Plus, you can never go wrong with some of their bougie grocery items or a fun beverage (canned cocktail, iced coffee, wine-- you name it). 100% recommend.Last thing I will say GET THE SEMOLINA BREAD

My favorite local grocery store! The clerks are always so friendly. They have a fantastic selection of wine and beer, better than a large majority of liquor stores.

Good selection of fine wines (a few beers too), tasty cheeses and other treats. Proprietor Chad is a great guy and always ready to help you with recommendations (as are his employees). Oh yeah, always good music playing.

EXPENSIVE! I wanted to like this little place but the prices are so high and the portions are so skimpy that I just cant. $12 sandwiches were mostly bread with very small amounts of ingredients. Uncomfortable high stools are placed around around the one communal table that is completely surrounded by loud refrigerator compressors. And did I mention everything in the place is laughably EXPENSIVE!

This place has some of the best sandwiches Ive ever had! Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. I love that I can call in an order and by the time I walk over its hot and ready. Im so excited for Parkside to open.

This little store is my favorite place in the neighborhood - I live across the street and it’s my go-to for great quality ingredients, delicious deli sandwiches, and local craft brews.The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to notice if you’re a regular.Every so often they’ll host a fun event like cracking into an unopened wheel of Parmesan, and their catering for thanksgiving was fantastic.So glad to have them so close to me - do yourself a favor and stop by.

L&M is an exceptional local grocer. I live in the suburbs but always make it a point to stop by when I am in the city. The staff are very polite and helpful.

Kind of obsessed. Cinnamon rolls, semolina bread and beet salad are all amazing. Trying something new each time. One tip, please put prices on everything. It makes it hard for average folk to shop on a budget if we dont know the prices

L&M is one of the nicest specialty stores out there! Fantastic booze selection, great cheese variety, and amazing deli and prepared foods. I bought some of their homemade Pancetta and it was incredible. Very friendly employees and knowledgeable staff. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation!

Im so happy this place is in my neighborhood. I hate that Chicagos corner grocery stores have become nearly extinct, and Im glad L&M has brought back the concept. Theyre a little fancier than your old school corner store, but the selection is really good. The folks that work there are welcoming, helpful and friendly.

It all started with a sandwichI was referred to try this place by close friends. I started getting sandwiches and beer here and there and know its a ritualistic stop on my to work to pick up my lunch for the night. Customer service is top notch. Everyone involved from the top down makes you feel at home and will point you in the right direction. The staff suggestions will take you to a new flavor combination each time, whether its cheese and cider or a sandwich and a beer. Food is fresh, and always great! What a fine addition to the neighborhood. Keep up the great work L&M! Thank You!

Theres not enough sandwich shops in the world, in my humble opinion. And definitely not enough good sandwich shops.My friend picked up Porchetta sandwiches for us to eat in Welles Park and I think this was the best sandwich Ive ever had. She also was able to find some amazing beers for us to try. Definitely love a curated grocer. Definitely going to have to come back.

Good selection of hard to find items at this outpost. Initially I was quite stoked to browse and buy cheeses, home made sandwiches, spices, and Irish steel cut oatmeal. Then the very high prices started to wear on me. Prices are up to 50% more than comparable specialty stores. Owner must be being gouged by her landlord, because Porsche pricing is in effect as is a COVID surcharge pricing.I’m not cheap and I buy whatever I want around town.Now I got a bad taste in my mouth and do not frequent L&M Fine Foods anymore. Instead I patronize Minnelli Bros. in Niles, Szymanski Deli on Irving, and Sam Rodgers’ cheese section at the Deerfield Whole Foods.

Such friendly service here, I love it! Every product is unique and I have yet to try one that I havent liked. In fact, their house made capicola and ricotta are both out of this world delicious. Thanks for the outstanding customer service and products ♥️♥️♥️

I was starving, and looking for a quick bite to eat, and stopped in. This place is so cute, and I was really impressed with the selections offered. It looks like a well curated food shop. My sandwich was huge, and ready to go in a couple minutes.

Nice little shop with a great selection of staples and goodies, including a nice selection of local craft beer. Friendly staff. The place reminds me of the little shops youd find in a fancy tourist destination or resort. Well certainly be back to L&M for more visits in the future.

L&M, take all my money - I have no regrets! Amazing beer selection, female owned, fresh flowers, fresh meats, classy wine spritzer roadies, local coffees, all the fancy foods I can’t find at Aldi (sorry Aldi, it’s not your fault) and the best flavors of Jeni’s Ice Cream. It’s like a personal Room of Requirement, Harry Potter style. Plus breakfast sammies are divine, especially the sausage egg one. I rest my case.

Nice variety of ales, wines, beers. Good butcher shop, nice selection of cheeses and good quality produce, freshly prepared salads, premium chocolates, crackers and other snack foods. People there are friendly and very knowledgeable about meats, wine, ale, etc. Convenient location.

We love this shop, at least one member of our family stops just about every day. They have a great variety of really high quality products, things you can’t really find anywhere else. They also have an amazing meat counter and great staff. This is a great addition to Lincoln Square/North Center.

It’s a task to get tofu to taste like anything but their tofu sandwich was an absolute flavor explosion! This grocery is outstanding and we will be working them into our regular rotation. So lovely!

Thrilled this place has opened in the neighborhood. We’ve been able to find staples consistently and they have a lovely selection of produce and dairy. I so appreciate a shop that clearly supports local producers and cares about quality. I’m more than happy to pay for good quality stuff and support a local business while I’m at it.Also their beer selection is crazy good.AND we recently got breakfast sammies on biscuits and had exactly zero things to complain about. Great biscuit with the right about of crisp and softness, house-made sausage, tender egg. MMM! Highly, highly recommend.
