Working on a project for a friend, so I talked to the head honcho witch (wizard? Sorcerer? Whatever his title) who gave me a consultation. Helped me select some altar oil to anoint a special piece of purple heart, for protection and healing purposes. Aside from that, the shop is chock full of cool stuff...crystals, raw ore stones, idols, charms, incense, candles, pendants, talismans, several walls full of books and all kinds of natural herbs, oils, ointments and potions, plus information on how to correctly use them. Was a great visit and I thank them for their indulgence with my questions. I plan to return soon.

This shop has great vibes to it! When you walk in youre greeted by the house cat(Lucy), she is super sweet. The only bad thing (in my opinion) is that you cannot pet the kitty at this time! They have a wide selection of books, incense, candles, herbs, cauldrons, bells, and so much more. Im sure theyll have whatever your witchy heart is desiring!

This business was a complete disappointment. The atmosphere was cold. The workers had nothing to say. The place had no life in it. The place was dirty and bathroom was disgusting. Overall, bad vibes, bad customer service, and left there feeling terrible. Should of vailed! Not recommended.

Alchemy arts has a great selection of tarot cards, incense, crystals, books, herbs, and other items to make your occult activities super spooky. The staff is friendly and they host events in the back room. There is a great gothic chair you can sit in. Make sure to check out this gem, a Chicago original.

I absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE! The guy who owns it is a wonderful man. Has a black cat Lucy that walks around the store. She greets customers, sleeps in the windowsill, and catches all the bugs. Quality local products at fair prices. Amazing wiccan and book collection. Everyone should visit!

I fell in love with this little shop. It has great vibes to it. The storekeepers were very nice and super knowledgeable. The kitty Lucy seemed to be the head honcho! Long time lurker, first time shopper: this is exactly what I wanted it to be and more! It felt like I was walking into a loved ones living room and everyone was just as warm. They’re currently observing 5 customers at a time under “plague rules” and I had a lovely chat with a fellow customer outside while we waited our turn. They have labeled & sorted book sections, as well as a lovely supply of high quality statues of varying sizes. I give 5 for the experience, and I walked out with just about everything I needed.

Went yesterday and got a bunch of bath salts and candles. Tried the Goddess of Love bath first and it was amazing. Only $3 each. Feeling very refreshed and dreamy, still today.Everyone in the store was wearing masks but there were quite a few people in yesterday so it made it hard to move around and keep social distance, BUT I dont blame the shop for forcing people to wait outside in the snow and 3° temp.Cats name is Lucy btw, very friendly >*.*

This is a solid spot for all things occult, spiritual and metaphysical. Staff is knowledgeable on many subjects and the store is well stocked with books among other things. I bought a book called kundalini today.

This place is amazing! You can find anything mystical or magical here as well as many healing items like stones and how to books. Ken, the owner, has so much knowledge and is a great guy. His employees are friendly and always willing to help you find what youre looking for.

Denise was very understanding and helped me at length, and Ken gave great reading recommendations, and the books and supplies at this store are incredible. Love this store for the people as well as the supplies. Prices were affordable too!

I just dont trust people selling the aesthetic without providing the teaching to go with it. This place is FULL of great books at reasonable prices, as well as reasonably priced candles, incense, herbs, and other pagan ephemera. I highly recommend this place!

When I first came here I followed the advice of another review here which is long gone and asked Amanda or Amara to help me pick my second Tarot Deck. Ever since Ive frequented their place for all my magickal needs. I would definitely go to them, theyre decently priced and have always been friendly to me. They also host classes, but due to COVID they cant host them anymore.

I went there just yesterday and the cat was so cute and just rooming and laying around. The people were nice and the store was amazing.

Came here about a year ago, the day before they shut everything down for covid-19 and absolutely fell in love with the store. It was the highlight of my trip to Chicago from Michigan. So we decided to make a trip specifically to Chicago just for them. Mind you weve been e-shopping all year from here. Sadly this time the entire store just doesnt feel the same. The energy is off, its not inter personal. We were greated about 5 minutes after walking in. Likely due to the fact there were about 5/6 more people shopping then the sign said was welcome. Fortunately the adorable black cat was still in attendance. I will come back if Im in Chicago but I wont be making another trip just for it again.

Neat store with a bunch of crazy cool trinkets. My personal problem was I found a ring I really liked, so I waited in line to ask someone to grab it. Once it was my turn to be at the register I ask the lady to help me get the ring from behind the glass, she went over and collected the ring for me. BUT THEN a different lady starts cashing out people while Im waiting for my ring and not one worker told me if I should redo sitting in the line or wait for the current customer to finish cashing out before I can go back up to the counter. So Im just awkwardly standing next to the register as person after person start walking up to be cashed out. Again not a single worker paid attention to me after the ring was placed behind the register so I LITERALLY WAITED 45 MINUTES before getting irritated to the point that I had to ask a customer if it was okay if I go in front of her because the mindless cashier was just dead eyeing me. LAST THING to anger me was when I walked up to her she just gives me a death stare and again. DOESNT.SAY.A.WORD. So I plainly say the one ring Ive been waiting almost an hour for thanks Dont get me wrong its a neat store just some of the workers vibes are garbage.

The store is very aesthetically pleasing but thats about it. Its expensive one candle can cost 12 dollars and their oils that are the size of a quarter are $4.19. The workers are ok I guess but the man behind the counter seem annoyed most of the time.

I’ve been coming here for years, bringing friends and family from all around the Chicagoland area. I love this place and it by far has the best oils, books, soaps and tools for your esoteric needs. I love the cat because she looks exactly like my first cat I had in preschool. And I love how knowledgeable and helpful the people who work here are. The only thing is, I prefer not to be the only person who has constant eyes on me when I’m shopping. When I reach in my purse to put a quarter by the Egyptian statue, I prefer not to be watched like a hawk. That is the only reason I could not rate it 5 stars. Especially since I met someone with similar experiences recently, please do better. Other than that, it is by the far the best.

I’m disappointed and scared to go in now.I tried to walk-in today with my partner, and we saw through the glass that the person with a beard behind the counter was not wearing a mask at all. This is visual proof that they don’t consider the health and safety of their customers. As someone who is disabled, being high-risk and seeing this terrifies me— especially for a local business who I want to support badly. Since tensions and anxieties are already high with in-store shopping, we turned around, after being gestured to come in.We will bring our service elsewhere, until they step up their game and wear masks like everyone else. I am truly disappointed. They really lost my service.

Love everything about this place! Always welcoming, even when I call to see if they have something in stock. They even have a gallery for all the tarots cards they carry! How cool is that! It’s something for everyone in there, no matter what you believe/worship they will have and very knowledgeable. And best of all they don’t judge you here no matter what your beliefs are. Also if they’re out of something you want or need they’ll help with other options, even if it’s other places. It’s so refreshing and genuine. I can not rave enough about here.

This place is horrendous honestly!!! They have a sign on the door that says CAT ATTACK!!! Instead of putting up the cat they rather it attack! And that’s what happened their cat tried to attack me to the point I am running around the store and the only thing they said was we can not stop it because if we do we will get attack also!!! So you rather not put up your attacking cat to protect your customers. Never experienced this before. Bad energy !!!!

This is the best occult general store Ive ever encountered. Not only are they fully stocked with anything one could need for a ritual, the owners are wonderful, knowledgeable, and just great to talk with. I come here often to pick up incense, herbs, the occasional book or stone, and to browse the tarot collections. They are happy to answer any questions (no question is stupid!), and offer advice/supplies for any level of practitioner. They will treat you with the same level of respect whether youre casually exploring or if youve been practicing for years.

Love this place wish their crystal collection was bigger. Love the book and deck collections lots of variety. Lov their herb collection lots of options available!
