They have a good bike shop! I wish Id known about it years ago. They were super responsive, super polite, and got a flat tire fixed in 5 minutes for $20 ($10 parts and $10 labor) for a kids bike. Im a fan.

Excellent! Purchased something from them years ago, but had not been there since. I did not realize the verity of things, different sports, that they have now. I was there for weights but now realize the bike shop and supplies are incredible and will be back to utilize that. They have a great selection of used bikes which is hard to find. I had called ahead, great service on the phone. In person, they were all attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. I will be back, will recommend them and give them 5 stars.

Just brought a bike from here about a week ago, everyone that worked here was really nice which was appriciated since im really new to getting on a bike,the guy working the register was super helpfuland recommended a size that will fit for my height the 2 guys that fixed up the bike was also very nice and had the bike ready to go in about 20 mins. Im super happy with my purchase and service.

Poor customer service was looking for assistance had to walk to the counter which gentleman was eating at the time. Asked if it was possible to get better pricing on product that was used which I explained online I can get at Lower pricing . then I was told you should order online unless you are purchasing alot of stuff then maybe we can help you. I will no longer bring my business to this location that I have been coming to for years.

I went to the store today to get a pair of hockey skates for my son and found a good deal on a nice pair (used, like new) The guys were really nice and helpful. Got them sharpened for $7 and good to go.Thank youI wish the store had a bigger selection on figure skates

One of the original Play It Again Sports on the Northside. Been a favorite go to place since day one. Fair prices, good service, plus the trade ins. Get a membership 15% discounts, you will quickly recover that cost. Especially if you and your kids play sports.

Went in today to get a tube fixed on my bike. They were super nice, knowledgeable of what they were doing, even went as far to blow the dust off my bike because I hadnt used it in awhile. Good experience and cute little shop.

I was looking for a bike and went to see what they had. It was for my daughter and she happened to like a certain one.Customer service was nonexistent. Guy who helped was so indifferent to helping us. The older man there acted like he had no time to help us. The reason for your business is to help sell to customers.We were given a price and we left to think about whether or not to purchase. I returned with my husband to make sure the mechanics were working if not fixable.I stayed in the car & I forgot to tell him the price. He comes back and says the older man gave him a price and he didnt think it was worth it. Lo and behold it was almost double of what he told me. I parked and went in. Bought it at older price.The older guy told the younger one to let me load it myself.Rude and gruff attitude. In hindsight shouldve walked away. Not give my money to such a poorly run establishment.

I havent been here in over a year but its full of ideas to play outside. If you have a question, theyre quick to answer and get you out, with plenty of time for recess!

Just visited this store and waited on street to be allowed in ,had mask on And when my turn to enter i was asked what i wanted and then told they dont have any stationary bikes and if i was browsing to step aside. Not friendly in any way, no thanked for coming , just move along. Wont be back to this location post crisis or ever.

John went above and beyond to put breaks on my cruiser! The bike originally only had a coaster break and I wanted to have some hand breaks so I could stop more easily in the city. He took the time to research the best breaks for the bike and made sure they were all black to fit the vibe! Great customer service and would definitely recommend! :)

I had a flat on my very inexpensive bike. So I threw my bike in the car and drove it over right after work around 5:30 pm. I expected to just drop it off and theyd call me when it was ready. Nope. The guy immediately took my bike quickly fixed it and showed me what likely caused the flat and suggested a minor repair to get it up and running. It was so pleasant to go into a bike shop and not get shamed for having a cheap bike or not having the BEST of the BEST in terms of parts and maintenance. And the repair was not expensive. So props to you guys and Ill definitely come back!

Nobody would service my electric scooter (e-scooter) in Chicagoland area. Called about 15 different businesses. They would not even take a look at it. These guys were great! Told me to bring it in. John did a fantastic job! Quick and inexpensive. Will definitely come back for service and maintenance!Great selection of bikes as well!

If I could give this place negative stars.. I definitely would!!! I asked for a recommendation on rollerblades and the guy said “try them all on, I actually don’t care! Just buy a pair!” I was so off put as a business owner myself, a business that I own and can’t go into at this time because I’m not an “essential” business... I was looking to shop local and not order from a chain business but this is the kind of service you’re offering?! #goodluck

Play It Again Sports in Chicago is the best place to go for a great quality used bike. The selection is HUGE, and they have so many bikes to choose from. There are hybrid bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes, kids bikes and so many more. If you are looking for a new bike go to Play It Again Sports and you are sure to find a great bike at a great price!

I absolutely love this place! Just picked up my bike from a tune up, the staff are incredibly nice and knowledgeable. My bike feels and looks amazing, they took the time to clean my bike very well. And when i dropped off my bike (and at pick up) there was little to no wait and the staff greats you immediately. Overall i will def be taking my bike back for repairs and tune ups! I had a great experience :) Thanks!!

PIAS obviously doesnt have the inventory to have the prices of a big box sporting goods store but it is great if youre trying to get started. You dont have to spend a ton of money here if youre starting a new sport you are unsure that you will enjoy. Youll have to get your equipment while that particular sport is in season as they change the inventory accordingly.I play hockey so I like to get my skates sharpened here and it is a good price. Once in a while you will be able to pick up a new stick for a great price.If you change equipment frequently or have kids, I suggest paying the $50 for the frequent buyer lifetime membership. I have definitely received my money back. Remember, that it is only for that specific store because they are franchises.

Took my Miyata Road Bike here for a tune up. I knew it needed some work, but I am not experienced enough to take on all of it. Raymond checked it out, gave me some estimates and many options, and we agreed on a price. The work was done in 2 days and he adjusted the price because one wheel didnt need as much work as discussed originally. Honest guy, fantastic work. Would happily recommend for your yearly tune up for an amateur rider.

I had a great experience buying ice skates here. I originally planned on buying used skates, but the associate directed me to a good pair of new skates that he said would have better ankle support and were only a little more expensive than the used ones. He also helped me understand the sizing and was very patient as I tried on skates.

I never wrote a review for any place before but my experience yesterday was so outstanding I had to take 2 minutes and let people know.Stop in the store buy some hockey gear for my son. Not only did we buy new and used hockey gear from head to toe we also walked out with a bike for myself and my daughter. The service was great. The young gentleman that helped me knew everything about hockey and bikes. He was awesome. Signed up for their membership and now every time I walk in we get 15% off and much more. This is the place to shop for new and used sports equipment. They also have a parking lot. All you moms that one on one help with sports stuff go here!

After purchasing a new bike a size too large, they exchanged it for a better size until they could build my size.The staff is super friendly and helpful. Some of the reviews for them baffled me. While I cant say what it would be like to purchase their used equipment, I do highly recommend them for bikes.

Ive had a great experience buying a bike here. I was buying the bike as a gift and the associate helped me choose the right size frame. This is a budget bike shop so if you are needing a new bike for >$500, definitely come give this place a visit.

I am moving out of town and I have a really nice Trek bicycle in great condition that I had to part with but I wasnt sure the best way to sell it. I didnt want to go through the hassle of dealing with sketchy people on craigslist and the like. I did some research and learned more about Play It Again Sports. So I decided to take my bike to this location and I was helped by Josh. They did a quick look-over and offered me a very fair price. For me it was a pleasant experience and I highly recommend this place. I also browsed around the store and all their prices are very reasonable. So, friendly staff, good prices and good selection. You cant go wrong here. :)

Been there three times, and all three times the people were great, the products were in good shape and fairly priced, and the place, which looks tiny from the storefront, is HUGE! We used to frequent Play It Again before we moved to Chicago, and were glad to find it again so close by. A great racquetball racquet for $6? A sled for $11? Kids skates from $15? Rock on.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!! I have come to this location numerous times to have my skates sharpened because it is closest to my home. Stupid me! Each time they have completely botched the job. They were completely sharpened unevenly by the owner himself!!! I have been playing hockey for 24 years and have never had this much of a problem with skate sharpening. Please, for the sake of your ice skates, stay away from this butcher!

I had a decent experience. I had to approach the workers for assistance which bugged me but once I received some attention the associate was able to answer my question. The price was right and the selection was pretty good.

This is a great shop with a team of very knowledgable mechanics that will resolve any issues you might have with your equipment.They have a wide variety of used items for sale at reasonable prices. Some of the complaints I read here might make some sense, but being a used store they are focused on price and I doubt the sales staff are paid commissions - so I dont expect them to be jumping all over me - but rather managing the inventory and keeping everything somewhat organized.

This place is tiny and its difficult to find things, not to mention its fairly cluttered.Prices are as you would expect, not super high because its primarily used product, but even some of the newer stuff was inexpensive.I know they mostly sell used stuff, but they could be better at organizing, or at least get a bigger space to accommodate all their stuff. Maybe make more of an effort to pick up products like Ice Skates that are sitting around, un-shielded, so that unsuspecting customer dont cut their sandal clad feet on the naked blades. It also takes FOREVER to check-out on their antiquated system.Ill shop here again because I can find cheap sports equipment, but Ill only do so begrudgingly.

I went to play it again sports to purchased a large number of used baseball gloves to send to our troops in Afganistan. When I approached the sales associate to inquire about discounts for the gloves, he informed me all prices are fixed. When I informed him I was purchasing baseball gloves to send to our men and women serving out country, he informed me there was no military discount. I wasnt looking for a military discount, I was looking for some support for our troops. This is the only Play it Again Sports who refused to help me support our troops. My advise for future shoppers is to go else where for their sporting good needs.

EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!Ive been in customer service for 18 years. This was totally unacceptable!In the past this store has been awesome. I play a lot of different sports for many leagues. Ive told people about this place. Ive spent a lot of money over the years here. I also havent been so late in the evening. So, I go into the store at around 6pm looking for golf clubs. I see 4 people as I walk thru the door but I assumed they were waiting for a friends bike to get fixed. I walked toward the back after looking around a bit and came across the golf clubs. I found it weird there was no one to help me, this had never happened before. Anyway, I just recently started playing golf and really want my own set of starter clubs. I eventually got tired of being confused and walked to the front to ask the bicycle guy for help. Come to find out, all 4 of these people work here. I asked for help with finding the right clubs. They all looked at each other and came to the consenus that all but one of them knew nothing about golf. They called his name because he never even turned around to acknowledge that I was talking. Just as he turned around I got ready for my question and he bolted right past me to help someone that had just walked thru the door. This experience makes me never want to come here again. Word will be spread.

I bought some used olympic weights and handles from here and after getting them home decided that they were too bulky for me. They let me come back and exchange them for some standard size with no problem and even helped me out to my car.

Horrible customer service, filthy store.Walked in to buy a softball glove and was in the store for over 20 minutes looking and looking and no one asked us if they can help us. I literally had to approach a the guy and ask him. The answer I got was if you didnt see it there we dont have it.
