I stopped by the Great American Bagel yesterday and ordered a Popeyes Omelette on an Everything Bagel - it was delicious! The servings are so big that I could probably share this with someone else if I didnt eat it all by myself! :)There is parking provided for free; there are a limited number of spots, but theres always a spot available since people are constantly coming & going. Definitely worth it!

This is my favorite place for bagels, and favorite location. It’s always delicious. But more importantly the staff are always kind and upbeat and positive. Whether I’m the only one in there or it’s a crazy morning rush, they are attentive and friendly. You can tell they have a positive environment. I’m always happy with my experience here!

Delicious bagels, incredibly-kind staff, family-owned, what more could one ask for? I had to buy half a dozen and two types of cream cheese because they all looked so good! They were nice enough to toast my bagel while I sat for a minute to eat (my first meal at 4:30 PM!!) And then were nice enough to have donated two bagels to me that were going to be thrown away ! Now I can give one to someone on the street who needs some extra food. Wonderful establishment ! Frequent there if you can!❤️🧡💛

I feel like Ive been to only good restaurants in Chicago, and this is no different. Tasty sandwiches and the bagels are light and fluffy. Going back for lunch soon.

Found this gem last weekend for a morning breakfast in Lakeview. They have a variety of bagels and sandwich options including paninis to start your day. I was amazed by the size of their bagels. They were huge! I ended up getting an everything bagel Swiss with egg and sausage. It was very delicious and toasted perfectly. I kinda wish I ordered another one because it was so good. Also, they have 3 varieties of self service coffee. I had the French vanilla, and I thought it was good! Employees were super friendly and awesome. Service was fast and prompt. Will definitely come back again in the future. They have their own parking lot, which is awesome too. They adhere to covid protocols so no worries here. Give it a try!

Great American Bagel is just ok. There are simply better options for bagels in the area. The breakfast sandwiches feel like something you could replicate at home.

This is the only place I know that charges for butter on a bagel!! Starbucks doesnt even do this. I Wont be back. Im not a person to just throw my money away. My daughter said a container of cream cheese was like 1/2 full, she didnt buy it.Guess its ok for wealthy people. So happy I no longer live in Chgo. w/high prices.The older man cashier was not at all friendly.

I had been going here once or twice a week for the past 2/3 months. They have good coffee and great breakfast sandwiches. I order my food on Grubhub for pick up which has been very convenient. I order the same thing every time and I’ve interacted with enough employees that there is a basic recognition factor even in masks. A few weeks ago I asked for a cup to get some ice water and the gentleman working the counter sternly told me that I’d “better only get water!” I didn’t ask for a free cup of ice water. If he’d charged me a dollar I would not have been upset, I sort of expected to at least pay for the cup anyway but I found the lecture offensive. Today a different gentleman implied that I was planning on stealing a bottle of orange juice when I had gone nowhere near the fridge or even that part of the store. I have no clue where either of these accusations came from and frankly they were aggravating enough to keep me from patronizing this store any longer.

Cannot say enough great things about this place! We ordered a carry out order that unfortunately wasn’t ready for the time of pick up because they were out of chocolate chip bagels and they went out of their way to cook us a fresh batch and were very very accommodating for us. Great customer service!

Wouldnt take my call in pickup order because they were busy, bad service. To Make it worse when I got there 5 minutes later there were 8 employees in the store and 3 customers.

This great american bagel is OK. My only wish is that they sold bagel dogs like some of the other locations do. Other than that the bagels are awesome and the staff is great

Good bagels moderately poor prices, but really slow service even when theres a 15 person line going out the door into the cold Sunday morning. Management should really institute some streamlining/assembly line or something during these rushes because the staff acts the same when theres 1 person in the store or the long line.

Check.Great: though the hardest to define, this may be the most accurate of the three terms. Everything from here is delicious from the specialty bagels and sandwiches to a good old fashioned bagel with cream cheese. Coffee is good too and the service is very friendly. Theyre always quick and the place is good for both sit down and to go. They also have big windows where you can watch them make bagels in the morning - they say its great for the kids but Ive found myself entranced on many occasions. Definitely great.So Great American Bagel - delicious bagel shop thats very accurately named.

I love their bagels, and they always have plenty of flavors ranging from whole grain to sweet to savory. The staff is friendly. I like sitting in the booths to take advantage of the bright southern exposure. Theres a Coke fountain with free refills. You can get deals using the Belly app.

Ive been there several times and the bagels are always delicious. I really like their coffee, too. I love coffee that doesnt need cream or sugar to taste really good. The staff is friendly and helpful as well.

I visited here on July 25th and ordered a salt bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was soft and delicious but there was barely ANY cream cheese on it.... a very thin layer. Not satisfied at all. I wont be back.

Seems staff is all pretty young and unsupervised. Tables werent wiped down at all, so the place just felt dirty. Food looked great, but the environment was not appetizing.

Their Scrambled Eggs taste different then the other locations . They are fluffy and flavorless.They also do not have the option of Egg Whites.The costumer service is nice but I prefer the other locations.
