Our server was very sweet.It took several minutes to be seated. Not a big deal. We probably waited 45 minutes for our food. I ordered my bison burger medium rare, but it was so dry and overdone that parts of it were crunchy. The pretzel bun was nice. There really wasnt time to send it back considering how long we had already waited. My husband said his was okay.I was disappointed because this is exactly the type of restaurant I would like to support.

Wow. What an amazing, delicious cafe!We were driving through town and decided to stop here for a sandwich.GLUTEN FREE!Let me just say, if you are gluten free, this is a MUST stop. They make their own gluten free bread! Say what?! I think 99% of the gluten free bread I have had in my life, the restaurant got it from some random grocer and not in-house. That was an incredibly nice touch! We even bought a loaf to go!The sandwiches were outstanding. Super fresh. Filling. Full of flavor!They also feature some local soda in bottles!What a cute place!
Incredible food! Homemade lemonade, pancakes, homemade whipped cream, and organic oatmeal are were so good, it was hard to stop taking bites.. even after we were stuffed! Our waitress was also unbelievably kind and helpful, and very prideful about how everything is made with love. We just wanted to make a quick pit stop for food and so glad this popped up right on top of the list!

Visiting town to explore Dunes State and National parks, and came by for breakfast. My Buffalo hash was very tasty. Great flavor and seasoning. My wife enjoyed her omlet just as much. The fresh orange juice was delicious as well. Only drawback was as tasty as it was, it was not a $45 breakfast. Tasty food, but probably not a future destination for the price.
Stopped here after a long walk with my pups at Coffee Creek. It was their first time dining in public and I was pretty nervous as they love to bark…dachshunds 😬 Anyway, once they settled in they were fine and our server, Miranda B. was incredible! She was very friendly, gave the pups water without me even asking and she was just overall a fantastic server! Example, I asked how sweet one of the latte’s was and again, without me having to ask, she offered to use less pumps of sweetener than usual. Just thoughtful! The food was delicious and I will definitely be going back again.
Very nice. Modest but adequate helpings of outstanding hash browns plus very good bacon. Over-medium eggs still had runny whites, the only slight negative. Waitress was outstanding, friendly and attentive without being at all over attentive. Will definitely go back when we are back in town.
This place was excellent! The soup if the day, Curry Vegetable and was flavorful. We split the Madras Coconut Curry and Farmers Market Sandwich. Several vegan and vegetarian options available.

The BLT had wilted lettuce mix in some type of sauce thinking I wouldnt notice the bacon was burnt the tomatoes small the bread was small not normal bread . My wifes buffalo burger came on gluten free bread that was the ends of the loaf an the burger was thin. The waitress came over once an took a long time to refill my tea which she messed up Also my French fries were cold an had a strange taste. Thats all but we had to try the place now we know

While traveling I-94, my wife and I were looking for a local place to grab breakfast and a coffee. This came up. It didn’t disappoint. Their commuter breakfast sandwich hit the spot. It was reasonably fast and on homemade bread. The house coffee was so good, my wife had to go back and get a second cup.We’re adding this to one of our stops, as we frequently go through this area.To the owners, keep up the great work. The friendly service was greatly appreciated.

Rubens are fatty, chicken sandwich is nill and the Omelets are greasy soaked the paper plate it was served on. It came with green pepper when I did not order it. When I told the waitress about it she argued and said we don’t even have peppers here” when it’s on the menu. The waitress seemed bothered that we were here and not friendly at all. Then she went behind the counter speaking negatively about customers to the kitchen while laughing just steps from us. She has no customer service class. The short haired brunette needs to go, she is the worst about this place.The girl with the long black hair is the sweetest. The tea is good. That’s it.
Corned beef hash had mushy over cooked potatoes, tons of undercooked onions with very little cornedbeef. What cornedbeef was there was mostly gristle. Eggs were also mushy. I told the waitress, and she still charged us. My friends omelet, on the other hand, was just right he said.
Its kinda standard but a bit pricey. with the prices Id think that they can afford a dish washer. whats with all the single use disposable plastic. plastic cups forks knifes and paper plates. the bread was good how about 2 slices instead of one.

On our way out of town, we stopped at the Third Coast Spice Café in Chesterton for breakfast. We’re glad we did! Situated in a strip mall not far from the I-94 freeway, it was a step above other cafés. Though it has the usual breakfast fare, it was done with care and an added touch. For example, cheeses go beyond cheddar and American; peppers go beyond just bell.My wife had the Florentine Omelet which included balsamic tomatoes, caramelized onions, spinach and asiago cheese. I had the Garden Omelet which included roasted red bell peppers, caramelized onions, artichoke hearts, balsamic tomatoes, spinach and Swiss cheese; I also got a side of peppered bacon. Our meals were outstanding. The wait staff was prompt and courteous and the prices were reasonable.If you’re traveling along I-94 in northern Indiana and looking for breakfast or lunch, give Third Coast Spice Café a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Absolutely the worst culinary experience Ive ever had. The food was terrible. Couldnt even tell what I was eating. Advice... If you have to explain what the food is because the customer cant tell by looking...its not good. Way over priced. Save your money, eat mcdonalds. Ugh..

From one chef to another this food is amazing. The love that goes into this definitely shows in the food. It is a great concept and a great hidden gem in Chesterton. I highly recommend this place and you can order anything off the menu and you will enjoy it.

Love eating here! My family always leaves happy AND full! The food definitely tastes as “real” as they describe. I haven’t figured it out yet, but there’s something about their pancakes- I always find myself craving them!The staff is always very helpful, even when it’s busy.It would be nice for them to get a bigger location so there’s more of a waiting area (and more space in general), but don’t let that keep you from going!

Done with this place for awhile... Shocked at my $12.00 lettuce SALAD.. Lettuce was brown and warm Pats COBB was also brownish warm lettuce. Try ROOTS in Valpo.. Very fresh and cold.

Came in for breakfast Sunday morning and sat at the counter. The coffee and food were great and our experience was made even better having an attentive, smart, and fun waitress in Erin! The other servers/staff were also great to interact with. First timer and will definitely be the reason I make the trip from St. Joe Michigan to Chesterton again.

My husband and I visited this establishment for the first time yesterday. This. Place. Has. Amazing. Food! Wow! My husband had the raspberry cheesecake French toast, curried tofu scramble, and Wild Cherry Cranberry smoothie, and I had the Popeye Hash(minus the eggs) with homemade whole grain bread and freshly-squeezed orange juice. Everything was truly phenomenal, and we highly recommend all of these items.The service was excellent(our server was Tyler), the atmosphere cheery and family-friendly(they have a toy corner for children!), and they were playing great music(U2 was on when we got there😍😁), but to be honest, the food was so good, it could have been served to us in a stuffy dungeon run by creepy monsters and wed still return. Even so, the service/atmosphere was a much appreciated added bonus.To top off our wonderful experience, we won a random act of kindness drawing, and our total bill was on the house! How flipping awesome is that? We will definitely stop here anytime we are Chicago-bound, and will tell everyone we know to do the same! Thanks again for breakfast and for being awesome, Third Coast Spice Cafe!

The customer service was excellent. The food was unique but may not suit every palate. I ordered the Moms Grilled Cheese and french fries with a Coke. It was something new for me. I love Grilled Cheese sandwiches. This one used a variety of cheeses. One of the cheeses had a paste like consistency so it may not be a big hit among the children but I enjoyed it. It was effortless to taste each bite of the sandwich. Full of flavor. Pleasant atmosphere.

Had a great brunch here. Elevated ingredients /cooking, upscale food in a diner with a hipster vibe. Also came home with some bulk coffee beans from Paris that were really tasty.

Im pretty picky on my breakfast foods, so this place was a pleasant surprise. Coffee wasnt amazing, but it complemented the meal nicely.I ordered the corn beef hash, something thats hit or miss in my opinion at a lot of breakfast restaurants (after all, scrambled eggs are fairly easy to make, not my favorite indicator). The hash was really hit out of the park. Not only was it a good corn beef hash, it was a unique take onto a classic dish. Packed with flavor and beef, eggs cooked well, jams were great, and service was good.

I was really impressed with the quality of food here. I particularly appreciated the expansive outdoor seating and adherence to social distancing and mask wearing. The tables were at least 6 feet apart outside AND inside. It made me feel comfortable. Plus they sanitized the tables after each person. It was a tad confusing on if it was seat yourself or if you wait to be seated.I got the Durango chicken and loved it. The poblano sauce was delicious and the meat was high quality. Fries were good size (shoe string) and cooked perfectly but needed salt. My friend got the gravy train and thought it was pretty good. The biscuits were lovely with the jam. The hash browns were OK. The coffee was good!All of the dishes/utensils were compostable and/or biodegradable which made me feel better about my consumerism. They were out of their juices and smoothies which was part of the reason i wanted to go there, so that was sad. Overall id reccomend this place!
We were super impressed with Third Coast! We got to the restaurant around 10:30am and were seated right away. Service was quick and our server Tati was wonderful! She gave us a great recommendation on one of the hash dishes. Her recommendation was great and we really enjoyed our meal. Even though we’re from Michigan, we’ve already discussed making a special trip back just to eat here again.Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a great breakfast or lunch!
Third Coast never disappoints! My favorite is their Cinnamon Toast Latte and their Farmers Market vegetarian sandwich. For sides, you can order fries, chips, or carrot sticks, which makes eating there with kids a breeze. Great, local place.

I gotta also add the wait staff seem to acknowledge the quality and price dissatisfaction with a shrug and indifference, which was somewhat telling of the lack of confidence and dedication.

Im going to rave about this place. First off, theres a big car park, so parking is a breeze! Next, the interior boasts a fun style which ties vintage charm to the welcoming of innovation in food. You can dine in or order at the counter. There is a well planned table arrangement with lots of booths and tables even if you come with a big group theyd be able to accommodate. The menu has lots of options and takes into consideration many dietary restriction. They offer gluten free & vegan. When asked about a certain ingredient often used in almond milk, my server was happy to check. (Almond milk here is free of carrageenan!) The food was delicious. If I have to make one criticism it would be that I was surprised to find processed salt on the table!

Solid Gluten Free options. The hottest coffee on the planet. Service seemed like their B-team was on the floor, but the food more than made up for it. I was surprised there wasn’t a line out the door.

I met a friend here for breakfast on New Year’s Eve Day a couple weeks ago. I ordered a belgian waffle as did she. Our interactions with our waitress were less than amazing and upon my request to have my syrup warmed, she told me it would take quite a while. I told her that was ok, and that I would wait. (The restaurant was only about half full.)She came back rather quickly with warmed syrup and as I was thanking her, she snapped at me that I should never expect that again, as the cook is very busy and they don’t typically do this sort of thing. (You would have thought I had asked her to do something borderline illegal, the way she spoke to me.) Our interactions that morning were all similar to this.The hot chocolate I ordered was bitter and I am unsure of why they put pepper on the bacon.Rest assured the unfriendly service will guarantee I will not be returning.
