I’ve been calling places for the better half of the day attempting to get someone to deliver stone on a Saturday. I called tidewater mulch at around 1:49p.m. and received the stone at 3:21pm. Definitely exceeded my expectations after being shut down all morning. Thank you guys for being fast and friendly!

We called on a Sunday and ordered several yards of top soil. It was delivered first thing on that coming Tuesday morning, as was stated when I ordered. The soil is dark and rich and good quality. The women I spoke to on the phone to order the top soil were very helpful and patient with me when determining how much soil I needed. I am impressed with how quickly it was delivered without any delays and by how good of quality the top soil is. The delivery driver was courteous and very kind. The price of the top soil was on par with other companies I called, though Tidewater’s delivery fee was twice as much. But I am willing to pay a higher fee for better service and materials. I highly recommend Tidewater Mulch and Material! We will be using them again in the future.

This place is awful, the service is awful. I dropped my Ryobi String trimmer off for some warranty work two months ago and they still cant tell me when the part will arrive or when it will be fixed. STAY AWAY

This company is so disorganized and the staff lie to tell you what you want to hear. Delivery times were late (like 12:15 for a morning delivery/6:30 for an afternoon delivery late) and the customer service is poor., so poor in fact that Tyler the “manager” literally said he hoped we would never use their company again when I said I wouldn’t out of being so dissatisfied! Would not recommend ever.

Purchased river rock from Tidewater Mulch & Material to put in our front flower beds. While loading the river rock in my truck the employee dumped over half of a front loader of rock down the side of my truck causing significant damage. When brought to managements attention they said it could just be buffed out. I got an estimate from the dealership body shop for the damages for $1400. When I brought the estimate back to Tidewater they said they would give it to the owner and be back in touch. Several days later I get a call from the owners wife. She informs me that they are not at fault but they would repair the damage as a courtesy. She gave me a number for someone to call to repair the damage. When I called the person he gave me a door number as an address. I asked what the name of his company was and he said he did not have one, this was just a side job. He was not licensed or insured. I called the owners wife back and requested that the repair be done at an actual business. I was informed that this was not an option, that they would repair the truck onsite or not at all. I ended up having to file a claim with my insurance company who then filed a claim with Tidewaters insurance company. Tidewaters insurance company reached out to me, apologized for how Tidewater had handled this situation and covered the repairs in full. Bottom line, do not support a business that has zero ethical practices and could care less about their customers or staff.

I ordered 11 yards of fill dirt from Tidewater Mulch & Material. Excellent price, product, and service! Its a pleasure to do business with such a company and I will happily return.

Tidewater Mulch and Materials is the only place I am willing to do business with in the Hampton roads area. They have top notch plants and materials. Their prices are cheapest around and they always go the extra mile to accommodate what I need. I purchase all my equipment from the manager Tyler. He always makes sure the price I get beats everyone else around. Their service shop provides exceptional service. I had a critical failure during lunch yesterday and they squeezed me in and got it repaired on the spot. I highly recommend them to anyone needing plants, materials, equipment, service shop, and anything else you can think of. If they dont have it they find a way to get it.

Frank was prompt and very nice when dropping off our compost this morning! The wait time was minimal to get our delivery, only 3 days!! That compared to the 10-14 days we have waited for another company to deliver to us. We will be using Tidewater Mulch for ALL of our gardening/landscaping needs!!

I love the history of this nursery. I buy all of my plants and compost from them! The mushroom compost does wonders for my garden and has done an amazing job allowing my grass to grow in. Highly recommend!

We ordered 4cy of pea gravel yesterday and had it delivered today. Very happy with both the service and the material. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were able to get our material in time for our open house. We will definitely be back!

Everyone at Tidewater Mulch And Material has been extremely helpful in answering all of our questions, helping us to choose a very affordable Crush-n-Run product for our driveway parking expansion project. Including delivery the total cost is much lower than their competitors, despite being delivered to Suffolk.

They had my mower blades in stock! and even installed them for me! I ended up getting a dumpster delivered to my house as well. Very pleased.. thanks yall!!!!! :)

TMM delivered my topsoil the same day I ordered it with no issues. The driver, Corey, did a fantastic job maneuvering his truck into our tight driveway and made sure to get confirmation multiple times before he began dumping.

Dropped my Amercan landmaster off to have new wiring harnesses and some electrical work done. They got it back in time for me to use it on the weekend with everything fixed and working. The manager Tyler was helpful and good to deal with....Oh and Brittany makes the best popcorn

We have used Tidewater Mulch and Material repeatedly for delivery of mulch, compost, top soil and pea gravel. The deliveries are on time, the drivers are great and you cant beat the price and quality. Were very happy and will be buying again.

Had my push mower for over three weeks when I was told the tuneup would take a week to a week and a half. Called them after two weeks and the lady took my information promising to call me back with the status. Of course they did not call back. Three weeks and called again on a Wednesday. They assured me it would be ready the next day. On Saturday, three days later I stopped to pick up my mower and it still had not been serviced. They told me I could wait for them to service it. I told them I was taking my business elsewhere. I will not use them again, which is a shame because they have great pricing on land scape materials.

Have had them deliver both dirt and mulch to my house the last three years. Found them after another company kept on giving me the rain excuse for why they couldnt deliver. Called tidewater that day and had the same product at my door by sundown. Quality is high, prices affordable and the everybody who works there is professional and polite.

I ordered 10 yards of crushed concrete for my driveway. When speaking with the manager he told they had a truck that could spread the load across my driveway creating minimal raking for myself. The delivery showed and apparently the truck I was promised blew its engine the previous week and they instead dropped 8 large piles in my driveway. I had to rake these 8 piles across 160 ft of driveway. While raking this crushed garbage it revealed broken pvc chunks, shredded tire pieces, driftwood, and plastic bags. Not impressed.

They picked up my zero turn on Monday. I had no communication on status of service so I decided to go check on my mower, when I got there they couldnt find my mower. I had to go to the warehouse to identify my mower. To my surprise, not only had they not serviced it, they left my almost new zero turn out in the rain! Service lady was apologetic, the guy in the reception area seemed to not even care! Very bad business practice!

Great service when youre purchasing equipment or mulch from them.....But if you never want to send them anything for repairs, all I can say is good luck. They will get to your repair when they feel like and if you have any repairs not cover under warranty dont expect a phone call with an estimate or a phone call at all. my wife and I called multiple times to get a status update for their week and half they had my mower and not once did they return our call. It to the point that Im just going to sell my mower and get John Deere because I dont want to have deal with this repair center again.****update****Got the mower back today and surprise I get a bill for 134 dollars because the repairs werent covered under my warranty and they did t even fix the problem i turned it in for. My wife turn it in asking them to fix only what was covered under warranty but the only call it got from them in the two week my mower (after multiple calls from my wife and myself about updates) I was told by that my deck was covered under warranty and they were going they offer see if the discharge chute would be covered too. I dont mind paying for repairs when needed. this repair center in an absolute joke do not use them ever!!!

I am so utterly disgusted with their lack of customer service. This company and their joke of a general manager has almost brought my bosss company to its knees from not repairing our equipment and lying about the warranty the equipment is under. They still have our commercial mower which is the heart of our company after five weeks of being there. I cant imagine how they can conduct such shady business and continue keeping their business open.

I ordered 7 yards of sifted top soil and 7 yards of mushroom compost to backfill my garden. After the material was delivered and I began working it into my garden it was very apparent I either received fill dirt or unsifted top soil instead of sifted top soil. The top soil has a significant amount of large clay clumps that will only break with repeated hits of a shovel. Too late to complain personally; the material has been delivered and paid for. My advice is to use a company that will provide what is ordered.

Terrible company, does not do what they promise. Ordered 3 loads of topsoil and they were supposed to deliver the same day and did not, did not deliver the next day, I called and they said they would deliver the following Monday, they did not. Called again and they finally delivered 2 loads on Tuesday and promised me the 3rd load that day but it did not show up. Called again and they told me it would be out there sometime today, had to speak to Aaron and he told me that it would be there by 2 and that his driver didnt show up yesterday so he couldnt deliver it. No communication and they made their problems my problems. Found another company and they delivered the next morning with no issues.

Dont use this company. They have no respect for the Handicapped. They parked one of their trucks in the handicapped spot in front of a school when it was letting out for the day. The vehicle was running as well with no one in it. There are many handicapped people who need those spots. If they are that lazy when it comes to parking I would hate to see the quality of their work.

I got 1/2 ton topsoil, which is one bobcat scoop in the back of my pickup. $15 which is cheaper than 10 bags of topsoil at Lowes or HD, but about double the quantity and much higher quality topsoil here. HD&Lowes is @ 1/3 sand mixed in, but TWM is good soil.

Aaron Sinks is great at what he does and Ive never worked with another vendor with such exceptional service and support.
