Lady at the cutting table was super nice and helped me find some things I needed. She told me a cautionary tale of how sharp the rotary cutters were since she nicked the top of her finger. Will definitely come back and try to tell her how my projects turned out!

It was so empty, I went to the specific store to find the fabric I wanted. It stated on the website that they had 4 yards left. I went there and they couldnt even find it. The girl that helped me was nice but how do you lose 4 yards of fleece?

Very clean and organized. The staff was amazing and I found everything I needed. They also asked if I had coupons, the rewards card, or military discount. This is the first Joanns that has asked me about any of those three things. I will definitely be driving the extra 10 minutes to visit this Joanns over the one that is closer to my house.

Spacious & tidy store with a huge selection of merchandise in the fabrics, notions & crafts departments. Excellent customer service when asked to help locate a sewing item, then help choose among several types (light, medium or heavy weight) for my sewing project. Look for store coupons to sweeten the visit (on line & printed).

Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Fabric choices were limited on the day of my visit. Mask wearing is suggested and encouraged at this time.

Crafts are my hobby and when I get wind of a new technique in my happy hobby place arena, my must-have ASAP personality wants the new supplies right away. Online ordering is awesome, but I enjoy the challenge of chasing products locally, and getting them at a good price. Letting my fingers do the walking, I called around and ultimately ended up on the phone at Joanns in Chesapeake. I didnt realize how fortunate I was when it was Nadine who answered the phone in the store. She seemed genuinely willing to help me. The item I was searching for is relatively new for use in the kind of crafting I do, and it took some searching for it to be located in the store. But Nadine persevered with diligence...no inkling of annoyance for being asked to go to great lengths to find the unusual item. And with much effort, she found it. My item was at the checkout counter when I arrived at the store about a half hour later to pick it up. The past year and half have been stressful for most of us, if not all, and patience levels have been tested. I was so impressed with Nadines willingness to ensure customer satisfaction, I asked another employee who the store manager was. I wanted to bring attention to Nadines work ethic and professional attitude. Well, the manager was... You guessed it, Nadine. Nadine demonstrated excellent customer service skills for her team at Joannes, courteous perseverance, can-do spirit, all the while projecting willingness to ensure customer satisfaction. This level of quality service has not been an experience Ive enjoyed in quite some time. Listen up all competitors and like businesses struggling in our economy currently. Shoppers like to shop where customers get good customer service and where they are treated with respect, and yes with importance. When kindness is an option, choose to exercise that choice. It makes a difference for everyone.

Very helpful very organized and most of all very budget friendly. A couple of guys go into a fabric store not knowing anything except one of them once a soft piece of material for their granddaughters blanket. Not only did we succeed but they made us feel comfortable doing it. Doesnt matter your skill level, as long as you know what you want, they can help you find it.

Welp....I found what I needed....but even in the early afternoon (nowhere near rush hour) when it didnt seem busy, I wound up standing in line so long I left the single item Id come for and went home without buying anything. 4-5 people in line ahead of me, one register open, aaaand yeah. Almost zero forward movement. I gave up.

If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. The last 3 times I have shopped there have been horrible experiences. On 2 separate visits I was overcharged and charged for things I did not buy. I had to make return trips to have that rectified. On my most recent visit the cashier refused to honor the clearance price, that was clearly marked, on 9 items of trim. After standing in the checkout line for 5-10 mins i was told I would have to go to the fabric counter line to get the correct price and then get back in the checkout line and wait some more. Where was the customer service? I thought retailers honored the price that they tagged. Third time is the charm. I will never go back there again. Employees lack customer service and are not trained very well. So disappointed 😞.

My husband and I went to this location early Saturday morning to get some fabric. Maybe 2 or 3 visible customers in the store so they werent busy enough to miss anything. After choosing the design, I went to the fabric cutting area and waited at the table to be called, not realizing I needed to pull a number. After waiting for the employee to finish with the customer at the first table, she finally asked if we had pulled a number. I said no and noticed the machine. I pulled a number, and walked back to the empty table. I had no idea that another customer had walked up put of my view and pulled a number before me. Another employee walked up facing me, IN FRONT OF ME, and called the next number. I know it seems normal but I was standing there waiting; not familiar with their program. So someone else, that wasnt in line when I arrived, pulled up her cart with about 8 different fabrics to be cut! So that means I step back and let her go first. Frustrated with the employees, I left and dont plan to shop there ever again. White employees, white customers, yes Im black and was trying to purchase an African print. I hate to think that these things played a part but its definitely how I felt. How can someone be waiting and you not even acknowledge them?! It could have been shared that we didnt know the procedure but were definitely waiting first. Something, anything, could have been said instead of acting like two adults werent standing in front of her! I felt ignored, disrespected, and that they didnt really want my business; hence my stand to not return.

I love the store, but it no longer carries some of the items I need for my beading projects, and that disappoints me, because they were the only ones that carried some of what I need. Im hoping it just from this pandemic and the supply issue and not that theyve discontinued these items.

I tried to shop online (which I was unsuccessful at in the beginning of the pandemic). Actually going into the store was a very pleasant experience. The layout of the store felt cozy for the amount of space youre in, definitely not cold and uninviting. I found it easy to find what I was looking for. There were a good many people in the store, everyone wore a mask and practiced social distancing (hey, its the world we live in now) and it was wonderful to see fall decor although Im not ready for it to be cold.) I will most certainly come back to this store often.

Didnt have what I needed stick gets low quick

A normal place to get all kinds of craft items, cloth and sewing needs. Have noticed their selection and stock has diminished. Hopefully its just a covid thing and will return to normal soon.

Not a lot of stock available (compared to other Joanns Ive visited recently, which is a lot.) and existing stock is not organized in a very intuitive manner. Whitney was EXTREMELY helpful in trying to locate a particular fabric for me at another store.

The employees were helpful. And the weight to cut fabric was very short. Plus, they had a large selection of fabrics at great discounts.

JOANN Fabrics and Crafts giving away a mask for healthcare workers. When I ask for it because I am nurse working in the hospital setting, the lady said that they dont have any any more. Fair enough but she never tell me when can I come back to get a mask. I am at the cashier and again talks about the mask. The cashier just told me that yes she brought some mask to her friend who works at the hospital. Wow, do I need to know someone to get it? She then nicely ask me you want one. So I said it is okay. I am making my own and for my friends.I just feel that there is something wrong to the way they communicate it to me. It feels like not right. Instead of telling me that we give away mask early in the morning when we have supply and or you can call us and see if we have available is better than the way they told me. I am just testing yall , maybe yall notice I am wearing my home made mask and buying materials for it. I am a yellow but an American. Please be nice . God bless you all.

Large selection of craft items and cloth materials for dresses, blankets,etc.. But somewhat pricey. Associates were very friendly and helpful. If you like doing crafts and sewing, try this place.

Its an ok Joans store I wish they had way more stuff because it is a great store not only do they have coupons but you also get military discount which is awesome

Employees have gotten ruder and ruder as time goes on. I used to love shopping here for all my craft supplies and anything I needed for my Etsy shop. Wont anymore. Its not worth the headache or the attitudes from employees. They also dont stock most of what they used to anymore.

Very friendly employees! They work very hard to cut our fabric, pack and deliver our curbside orders, help us find what we need in the store, check us out, and never complain! Thank them when you go in. They have been open the entire time during this mess and have put up with rude and unhappy people, with a great attitude. I dont mind waiting in line to get my fabric cut, they work diligently with every customer!

During the covid-19 pandemic Joanns has been wonderful from their customer service in-store and curbside pickup to their online store. The ladies at the cutting counter are quick and efficient and I can not say enough about the helpfulness of all the store associates. Thank you Joanns for staying open through this difficult time.

The prices for the fabric is pretty high for basic sold cotton. But otherwise, staff is cool, place is clean, and you can find a LOT of sewing needs and supplies here.

We just ordered from this store, just yarn and a knitting needle. We did the pick up at store option thinking it would be safer and faster.Well what we didnt know and what was not indicated anywhere on the website is that there is currently a 4 day wait for you to get the things you paid for. There is a big backlog and they fill them in chronicle order, which is the way to deal with a back log but it would have been nice to know its going take 4 days to get our order. We could have purchased it elsewhere and picked up the same day. Its incredibly frustrating. So if you order online from here ship it.

My wife likes shopping here for her craft stuff. My daughter is an artist and enjoys shopping there too. For my part, the parking lot is nice. Its a great place to sit in the car while Im waiting for one or both of them to come out of the store.

Everything was clean, all employees were wearing masks, and 99% of the customers . Employees were super helpful and pleasant. But, there was not as much fabric variety as I was expecting, but with the pandemic and everyone being home doing projects, its understandable
