Not sure what was up with the night cashier at self checkout but he looked like he hated his job and was nodding off. It was really hard to get assistance, multiple people were asking him for help and he was just kind of a zombie. Im not sure if he was just tired or what was going on but that was not a good experience when there is no other staff to be found. He seemed annoyed that anyone was asking him for help and I watched a few people walk out without bags just because they didnt want to deal with asking him for a bag. Please have more friendly staff or if the staff need a break have someoneelse available-- this was uncomfortable to watch . It may not even be his fault due to staffing issues

Customer service closes early all the time which is ridiculous seeing that Ive never seen a customer service desk closed at any other tops or any store for that matter at noon. Especially when you need it, it is very frustrating.

A great place to shop for your groceries

Since returning from abroad, I have had many disappointing experiences at a few Buffalo-area Tops locations. As a child and young adult I recalled many of visits to be second to none if not on par with perineal competitors such as Wegmans, however in recent years, Top Friendly Markets consistently has lagged behind by way of price, cleanliness, quality, selection, customer service when matched against local, national and international chains that have entered the Western New York market within the past decade.My frustration with Tops started when first returned to the area May of 2015. I wanted to return bottles and cans for their deposit at the Tops Main and Union location. I had various redeemable container purchased at different supermarkets throughout the area.I inserted various bottles and cans into the machines which were purchased at several non-Tops stores such as Wegmans. All the cans were accepted and credited with the acceptation of a few others - the containers that were once filled with drinks I had purchased at another Tops locations the other side ofLast year, I was shopping for bananas the Tops Maple and Transit location. After I inserted my phone into the front pocket of my shorts, the mobile phone fell to the floor. As I was about to pick up the phone I noticed a working heading in the path where the phone fell a few feet away. The worker, wearing black shirt with a red collar, was dangerously close, so instead instead of reaching down to pick up my phone I told the worker I dropped my phone and watch out. Oblivious to my commands, the worker ran over my phone with the cart, causing two of the four wheels of the cart to knock the flimsy cover of the phone and and cause damage to the screen and stylus. Judging by the colors of the employees shirt I was certain it was a Tops employee who had damaged my phone.I called Tops customer service explain what had happened but they insisted that they reviewed video of the incident and insisted that it was not a Tops Employee they view in the incident, but a Coca Cola vender and they were not responsible. I had no idea how it would be possible that representative of Cola Cola would be pushing a cart carrying produce into the produce department. She along with other representatives told that a representative of Coca Colas insurance provider would be in touch with me and warned that I could that I could be responsible for committing fraud.When I got in touch with Coca Colas insurance representative I was stunned how unprofessional she was. I assumed she had access to the very same video the Tops employees had allegedly viewed and insisted she view it. Check the video, I said. She then replied yeah, Ill check the video, with a hint of sarcasm.I said it may not have been a Coca Cola employee because the person maneuvering the cart was wearing a shirt like most Tops employees commonly wear. I then asked what she saw in the video. After asking. She then revealed to me that there was no video and the call ended abruptly thereafter.Following the call, I continued to call Tops costumer service to inform them what happened , insisting it was Tops and not the Coca Cola Company that was respnible for the damage of my mobile phone. To this day, I was compesated by Tops with not even a ten-doller gift certificate. Its really a shame how petty Tops has become.

Very bad selection of peoduce, and the produce they do have are of very bad quality.

Avoid this location the employees arent for anything but a check! Horrible customer service skills, seriously.

Thought this would be a good place to stop at before work but doesnt open until 6am. One of my coworkers starts working at 7 am, stopped there for a couple of things, and just as she was approaching the register the cashier walked away to make a phone call. Didnt care that there was people standing in line. Self checkout wasnt open either. Produce was well stocked and fresh. Guy in meat had a major attitude.

Its a small super market but its convenient. Our is very close to home. They usually have stocked shelves.

The new manager was very engaging, a great personality. Unlike the previous one.. amazing experience today.

I went to this Tops today. My WIC card accepts the 4.23 oz juice 🧃 packaging box. But the problem is the unfriendly cashier said it does not accept. I have to pay while I’m out of pocket. And so I have to discard this necessity juice. Something wrong with this Tops system. How can I solve my dried tasteless tongue while I’m pregnant? I need juice! I can’t live without juice! Dang! I have to drink water or milk instead. Smh.

This tops location is okay they dont have much items Thats some of the larger tops carry the neighborhood is very bad.

Not the most updated Tops. There is one tiny entrance/exit. It doesnt have a lot of the items that the bigger Tops stores have but they have the essential items. There are associates available if you need anything and they are nice (at least the one that I spoke with) The deli is very slow. When I went there was one employee working.

Every time I go shopping at your place you dont have open registers.Today you had one open.A week ago I went there early in the morning ,you had open the self check out only.Obviously I used them ,but it took long time bc I had to get the products code,etc..The manager that morning was very ride to me because I didnt know how to do it properly.Please,try to provide a better service.

This my local store as its only 3 minutes away from my house, it might be small compared to the other locations but its HUGE with its wonderful, warm welcoming and friendly staff. 😀 Theyre always so nice, kind and attentive! Theres this 1 manager of the store in particular by the name of Bob, I call him Bob on his Job and he always makes sure his store is on the ball and if theyre out of stock on an item or plain just doesnt carry an item, HE WILL GET IT IN THERE FOR YOU, he assures his customers great satisfaction and makes you always want to return again for your grocery wants and needs! I hope they have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Years! Keep up the great work guys!

Almost always disappointed by tops. Slow unfriendly staff, average selection, but always gives poorly run vibes to me. It does it’s job, but I can think of better options.

Selection is limited due to the smaller size of the store. Produce quality is consistently awful and regular prices arent great. Staff is fantastic at this location! Great for a couple quick items but not a full grocery list.

It was a very small Tops and parking lot was to small. Only good if you are just looking for a few things. Really didnt like parking

If you looking for kosher food , there is in the back of the store , Nissan deli , great guy good kosher meets and verity of kosher food

This Tops on Kensington and Harlem is my go to for a quick shopping trip. It is near my church and they are a full service store but not so huge that it makes shopping difficult.

Not too busy today. I was in and out very quickly.

Everyone that works here always attends to my questions promptly and with respect. The deli department personnel will bend over backwards for you. What the store lacks in size, the store employees make up for in kindness.

For me it is convenient because it is close to my house, but it does not have much variety. Especially the Latin area, it is practically empty, they only have two or three articles.

A little smaller than other tops but it does a pretty good job at getting what you need and getting you in and out

I always love tops easy check out. I can always get my stuff and check out quickly not getting fustrated with people pulling out check books in the fast lanes

Rarely a good selection of fresh organic vegetables, none in frozen section. Have never found organic fruit (unless you count grape tomatoes). Hard to find anyone to help find items. Very friendly cashiers, but they always have trouble with at least one item or coupon or payment method because they dont know the code or put the wrong thing in and dont know how to remove it. Maybe theyre used to only their regular local customers? I only go there about once a month or so when i have an appointment nearby; still feel like an outsider even after a year.Usually cant find something i need (because they just dont carry it?) However sometimes they surprise me with something, like better nondairy yogurt than wegmans has.

I like that its closer to home, and I dont hAve to patronize high price corner stores.... but because its small stocking the shelves is limited .. so some items that are on sell this store will run out quickly. Other than that very clean, managers are kind, most cashiers are quick and friendly.

Small store with little selection. Great to swing by and get the staples (milk, bread, etc), but we do our main shopping elsewhere. Have purchased items in the past that were past expiration or started to spoil, not realizing until we were home.

The smallest Tops You will ever go to. They are not friendly here. Everyone that works here looks miserable. Every time I come here they make my day down and they don’t give change, not even for a five this is literally the saddest tops. This is the closest TOPS to me and I go out of my way to go to another Tops.

Store is kind of small they dont have enough people at the checkout the line too long even during the day and two bit on that untidy side

Its okay for a quick stop but honestly Wegmans has a better selection of specialty products like diabetic and ethnic foods.

Enjoyed shopping there today they have such fresh meats And fruit I enjoy it I Get everything I Need A lot cheaper than Wegmans And A lot closer to me 2 minutes away

They didnt have a lot of the items that are on sale in their circular. Also, we used the self serve registers and the woman who was overlooking those registers was very nasty, mumbling under her breath, snapped at us and then when SHE made a mistake, she got nasty with me because I wanted her to correct it.

Quick and easy in and out. I would do MAJOR shopping there but great for a quick stop if you need a few things.

They have absolutely no selection of anything. The produce is rotten half of the time. They cant honor many sales that other tops do because they dont even have the product on the shelf. If youre looking for ethnic ingredients, this place has nothing. 4 plantains and 2 packets of sazon. Please keep up with the times. Cheektowaga has other ethnicities besides polish.

Most of the employees make this store an unpleasant experience. The guy who is usually at self checkout is such a douche. He wont even look at you when you ask a question or need help. There are a couple employees who are friendly and attentive but majority seem miserable.The store itself is alright. Prices are similar to Safeway, Albertsons, and Fred Meyer.

They have a new system at self cash out a camera that record you!No thank you!No more Tops here!

If I could give less then half a star in would this place is beyond terrible! Poorly staffed and managed ! Terrible terrible! Had an employee tell me she was closed and then 10 sec later she was open leaving me stuck waiting in line for 20 mins to buy 2 gallons of milk. Then the cashier I had just was nasty and rude didnt even ask for my points card had to be like hello handing you this to get my points never shopping at tops again!

It is an okay tops. It is on the small side and offers a limited variety of goods, but it is much cleaner and friendlier than its sister store on Main Street. Still does not remotely compare to Wegmans.

If this is for Maple/Transit store...my experience is and has been DAILY since i work for a family nearby providing homecare for their loved one. Wasnt immediate that i noticed the bad attitudes of many of the employees. Of course not everyone is in the most awesome of moods at their jobs everyday. I am not either. But then quickly i summed up the cranky/rude/downright nasty ones...hence the reason i avoided them and changed to self checking only.One particular day this deli worker ignored me as i was seen and the employee walked away. Hmmm...well i said excuse me...and still no response. So i was flipping. I had to go to the desk and turn in lotto tickets for my patient and the girl there qas talk about an emplpyee to the assistan manager. So i spoke up and said yes there are some really nasty, non helpful employees here and in the depts where Id encountered them. The asst mgr. named each of them to me and i said if you know this why dont they get reprimanded? She said....its the union...they wont fire anyone and they dont have to be nice to customers. REALLY....HOW UNNACCEPTABLE. !!!!!!! She agreed amd.apologized. i said I have to come onto this store every day and sometimes 2-3 times a day. I hate shopping as it is and then to have to deal with such a reality ruins my day. I came close to quitting the job as i shdnt have to deal with such people and that often. So i continued to ahop as quikly as i cd and get out of there. But in the beginning id greet the cashier or other employee in the various areas and after 3 xs i totally gave up.Even the pharmacy...no one says ill be right with you or even aclnowledge me at the counter. Wheres the dam bell that used to be available ages ago to get their dam attemtion??? Soooooo...after a time i went in and one of the most snooty ones said goodmorning as i walked by them in the aisle. Then another and another were pleasant....hmmm...could only be God at that point making them be pleasant. Ya know...i say train some mentally handicapped individuals to do their jobs and i guarantee every customer will be happy and look forward to patronize this establishment. I have worked with the mentally handicapped and ill tell ya...Id rather have them work for me if i owned a business as they are hardworking, loving, kind and only want the same in return. Now lets trun this around and think of WHO is actually the mentally handicapped....???

I hate this particular Tops. It declines to cash my paychecks when every other store does. Its understaffed and dirty. Its near my work so I stopped there today out of necessity.

Its the local place to get a gallon only milk or a loaf of bread. Has a fair selection of produce and deli meats. Price point is actually not that good, but it is super convenient. Probably the best thing going for it

I was not able to shop because there is only one drive cart. Being , handicap its hard to get around the store I usually ride when the cart but theres only one one got stolen and one was never replaced so a lot of time so that was my experience

My visit was only to the customer service desk. The young lady servicing was very friendly and professional.

You can find just about any food item here. The store is easy to navigate and the prices are very reasonable

They put one cashier at the customer service without fail and to even go up to the desk, you need a shoppers club card. Youre not wegmans get over yourself.

People are helpful and its a quick and easy place to get in and get out.

A typical Tops. All the same prices but layout may be different. Some locations are still really old locations and are small. You may not find a bakery or Carryout Cafe. The one at Harlem and Kensington seems like that.

Its crowded. Small space too many people, blind Corners at the end of every aisle. Somehow the bakery items arent as good as here as they are the tops in Williamsville.
