My wife and I stopped at Rock/Creek Riverside on our way through Chattanooga. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff, Patrick went above and beyond to help me with an issue I was having with some equipment.I will add Rock/Creek Riverside as a stop whenever we are passing through Southeast Tennessee for our next outdoor adventure.

This store has everything an outdoors-y person could dream of! They had a huge selection biking/kayaking equipment, but I was here for climbing. They didnt have the largest selection of climbing gear, but what they did have was good and high quality. I asked for help in picking out climbing shoes and the employees were able to give reliable and valuable advice. They also gave harness advice, but they didnt have all the sizes available at that time. I will definitely come back next time I visit Chattanooga!

This is Toys R Us for the outdoors man! The staff is VERY knowledgeable,friendly,helpful an most important!!! NOT PUSHY!! They have about anything that you need or didn’t know you needed. Some of the prices are a little bit high , but it’s such a specialty sport it kind of goes with the territory. I still love this place.

I stopped by to try to replace a lost Yakima bike rack key. The guy had no trouble figuring out the right key. Awesome bike shop!

I had a wonderful experience renting a tantem kayak from this location. They were closing up for the season so, we were coming in right at the end. We worked with Nick directly & he was extremely helpful. This was my first time on a kayak with my friend. We had Nick deliver to our chosen location & from beginning to end it was a fabulous experience. He was so kind and easy going. Will be visiting this location and subscribing to the newsletter for events/sales.

We’re so lucky to have such a great outfitter and gear shop like Rock Creek in the Chattanooga area. Every time I go to any of their locations the staff are more than happy to help me out with whatever questions I might have and they’ll stick around until you’re comfortable with the gear you’re getting. I was buying a sleeping pad and they took a few of them out of the packaging just so I could try them out. 10/10 would recommend.

Had an amazing tour of the Chattanooga riverfront on kayak - our guide James was very knowledgable about the area and showed us some really neat spots on the river.

Great staff! Especially Nick who went above and beyond to help me fix my outdated Yakama Rack system. I ended up buying a new rack system for a safer transport of my boating gear. Every staff member went above and beyond to help me. It was great! This is my outdoor gear store of choice.

I had the absolute best time kayaking the Tennessee River because of Rock/Creek! The employee that dropped off and picked up our kayaks was the absolute best. He went way above and beyond for us! Cannot recommend them enough. If you are looking for kayaking in Chattanooga this is the place to go!

I went there today for the boat sale. I stopped in the back to check out what was leftover from their major apparel, etc. sale they had a few weeks ago and picked up a great deal on some Reefs. All Reefs were 70% off MSRP but most werent marked, however, Chris happily offered to scan and get any prices for me.Went back to the kayaks. I thought I had decided but wanted to know differences between some kayaks. Chris (my boyfriend said his name tag stated he was the assistant manager - I hadnt noticed) came over to help. He was super thorough and helpful. When I decided on one, but wasnt sure I was going to be able to get it home, Chris went above and beyond to fit it into my Honda Accord and strap it down. If that hadnt worked, Bradley (the associate that cashed me out) was happy to hold it until I got there with a truck.When we told Chris where we live, he mentioned that Bradley lives in that town, too, and could tell us where to paddle. Bradley spent lots of time giving us great info on paddling, hiking, and additional resources.Overall a fantastic experience. Awesome service!

Hey! Rock Creek is the new Specialized bike dealer in town. Picked up my new X Comp Carbon last week and love it. The RC bike dudes Bobby and Jacob are first rate. My build and setup are “Spot On”. From my limited experience so far I’d say it may be the best place in town to take your two wheeler for service. Thanks for a great deal and even better service.

This is my second time to visit. Neither time have I purchased anything. When I get ready to pull the trigger I will purchase from here. The staff has always been extremely friendly. These guys and gals seem to know everything. Im a newbie to the sport. So this is extremely valuable to me. They take the time to explain ALL of the different types of boats, gear, and creeks. GO SEE THESE FOLKS!

Top notch gear house here. Employees are very knowledgeable about all kinds of outdoor products. They even have a good selection of Made in America product. On my last visit the staff helped us with the installation of a Yakima roof top tent on our car. Will definitely stop back through here again the next time we see in Chattanooga

We just left Rock Creek Paddlesports with two new Jackson kayaks with all the trimmings. Very happy with our purchases! Daxton was very helpful and answered all of our questions with both knowledge and a lot of patience. We made three separate trips to the store before we made our final decision, even taking some boats out for a demo. We feel he was genuinely concerned that we purchased boats we would be happy with. Nick was very helpful also! Would highly recommend this group if you are in the market for anything related to paddling sports!

Great staff. He worked with us for a couple hours and when we went back the second day another member moved several boats for us plus was very patient while we decided on a boat. We got a great deal on a whitewater boat and their selection was large including fishing kayaks, clothing and accessories.Would return again to consider another purchase.

I went in not knowing a lot about what I needed, but after looking for about 30 seconds I was quickly asked if I needed help or knew what I was looking for. I didn’t know a lot about them but I told the guy I needed a nice kayaks for a reasonable price. He was very patient with me and was very helpful. He seemed to know exactly what he was talking about and did it with a smile. I believe the name of the person and helped me and checked me out was Chris. Will be back very soon.

The outlet sales are really great value for the products that they have available. Lovely outdoor recreation store for the outdoorsy city that Chattanooga represents. They always have fun outside events that involve the local community as well.

Love this place!! They dont have as much as the other Rock Creeks but as far as paddling/kayaking/climbing, great place to get you items! Have packs and other items, not so much clothes as gear oriented.Great staff, friendly & knowledgeable(most are...)

I was in town recently for Chattajack 31, a 31 mile paddle board, and watercraft race down the Tennessee River. When I got to town I realized my Paddle grip was super lose. Not a good thing when youre about to be paddling for 7+ hours. I called the Paddlesports location and an employee there, Parker, was super helpful.. He told me to bring it over and hed re-glue right away. He pretty much met me at the door and took care of me straight away. His commitment to customer experience and service was awesome and very much appreciated. Thanks Rock Creek and High Five Parker... You Rock !!

I dont know who some of these other people talked to, but they answered all the questions I had in a very knowledgeable and experienced way. Very helpful even in the midst of a huge sales event. Took excellent care of me. Top of the line equipment.

Wow...this store is horrible, and they dont care whether you know it or not! I stopped to look at a Jackson kayak that Ive been shopping for...and discovered that their big annual sale is coming up this weekend...today....on their used demo kayaks. They would not tell me how much it would be when it went on sale because it wouldnt be fair to everybody. The guy that I talked to had so much snuff stuck in his bottom lip that it looked like he had a golf ball in there....I could barely understand what he was saying.I live an hour and a half away, so asked what time they opened on Saturday...I planned to call in when they opened and buy the kayak over the phone, if the price was as good as they said it would be.They said they opened at 10 a.m., I asked them to double check so they asked the manager and he said they would open at 10 a.m. I called at 10 a.m. on the button this morning, and asked about the kayak...the guy that answered the phone said that it was sold. I asked how it could be sold if they just opened....he said they had decided to open at 8 a.m. this morning...I guess they figured that would be more fair to everybody...change their opening time, but only tell their friends.CHANGING THIS TO A 5 STAR REVIEW! I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH THE MGR (DAXTON) WHO MADE GOOD ON A BRAND NEW KAYAK. HE DIDNT HAVE TO DO THAT, OFFERED ME A BETTER DEAL THAN I ASKED FOR....HAVENT HAD THAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE FROM ANY OTHER KAYAK DEALER, REGARDLESS OF BRAND!

Conveniently located a few minutes from the heart of downtown Chattanooga, this outlet and overall beautiful store has almost everything youd need for your outdoor adventures. I highly recommend coming when they have their warehouse sales (one in fall and one in spring), the deals are absolutely phenomenal! Overall, I love this store and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to upgrade their outdoor gear and get fantastic advice from knowledgable professionals.

Great store with some great deals on both small items and big ticket items. Mid range items 20-500 are not so much on sale at the outlet unless they are close outs. They have he real deal equipment you want

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would.After placing my order, I did not receive it until after a month later. I had continued to check the tracking but their tracking details were very vague and did not update well. Finally, I resorted to contacting their customer service department. After a few emails back and forth, they did indeed issue me a refund as I had not yet received the product after a month, they presumed it lost in transit. They said I could then again place another order - but alas, my size in the particular item was sold out at this point. They also did not issue me another coupon that I could use as I had the first time, meaning I would have to spend more money. A few days later, the item arrived in my mailbox. Trying to be a good citizen, as I had already received a refund, I contacted them again to let them know. Now, I realize they have a business to run, but if I were in their position, I may have said, okay, how about pay for a discounted price, or just take it on us for the hassle you went through and being honest. However, they said, if you want the product, call us back with your credit card number to pay; otherwise, well send you a return shipping label. Which they promptly emailed, and I am using. I feel as though their customer service and shipping/tracking are greatly lacking. I will never order from them again, and I urge you to do the same.

I bought a Jackson kayak last weekend after several visits and many questions. The staff was always helpful and knowledgeable. They had a great selection and Nick offered some valuable advice.

I worked with Daxton last week to buy a long overdue new kayak and car rack. Daxton and his team are incredibly knowledgeable, informative, and patient, setting me up with exactly the right boat for the experience I was looking for. Austin and Nick installed the rack for me the following day, investing a tremendous amount of extra time ensuring it was placed perfectly for ease of use and spent the time to walk me through every step of the process, adjusted the ropes, buckles etc. These guys are awesome! I could not recommend them more highly.

I agree if there were a way to give 0 stars I would have. I went to look at Jackson Kayaks and I made the mistake of going to Rock/Creek no product knowledge what so ever and very rude. I will not be going back and bothering these people ever again. I went to another shop and spent my hard earned money on a different brand from someone who was knowledgable and very friendly. This place is over priced and not worth your time. The other Rock Creek Stores by the mall and downtown are very nice and I have always enjoyed my times there but unfortunately they do not sell kayaks.

Although completely slammed during the recent Labor Day sale, the staff took the time to assist me in choosing a new paddle board. Also, the board I ended up with had some damage that went unnoticed at the time. Once I brought it back in, they went out of their way to make it right. Its great that a local shop really takes care of their customers.

I liked all the products that were available and I know discounts and closeouts are different types of events but the checkout line was so long I watched many people give up and leave. While we were there, people had been waiting over 45 minutes to checkout.

Great products but overpriced. Also the staff is hit or miss. Some know their stuff and others are only the because they have a certain look and say cool things like send it. I prefer better and friendlier customer service, but i guess Im old school.Update: Things still havent changed. Overpriced gear and staff that obviously isnt being drug tested. Its pathetic customer service with minimal knowledge of the gear thats barely stocked. Sad.

Rock/Creek was hands-down the best, local outdoor shop in the Chattanooga area. 30+ years they’ve been the main go-to for almost any outdoor gear you could need. Sure, they sell high-end stuff that is expensive (so does REI, Moosejaw, etc..), but they also have tons of great, entry to mid-level gear to get anyone well prepared for the outdoors. Sadly they were sold to a big-box owner so the shop local concept is dead to me with them now. Honestly, with this new ownership, there isnt much loyalty to R/C, as theyve made some awful staffing decisions and are simply no better than REI for keeping it local now.

Horrible horrible on line service. I wish I could give ZERO stars. DO NOT buy off their website. I made a huge mistake and should have ordered my item directly from the manufacturer, REI, or thru Amazon. Those companies know how to take care of their customers. 4 times I have called customer service and they never pick up. Left an email and it has not been returned. I will call my credit card company and have them deny the charges.
