I recently had 2 guitar amps go out on me, so I took them (and a guitar that needed some internal electronics cleaning) to Roger at Universal Electronic Repairs. He was very professional and straight to the point. I got my amps and guitar back in great working condition, in a very reasonable timeframe, and he also cleaned them up pretty nicely! I will be taking my gear to U.E.R. for any future maintenance/repair needs. Roger has been taking care of musicians needs for quite some time, and is very knowledgeable. Roger did a rush inspection of a 1970 Ampeg B15n that I had bought on Craigslist. I was having problems with it giving a bad electrical hum whenever plugged in. I thought Id been given a dud and I needed an opinion quickly... I paid the rush fee for a quick diagnostic inspection that was turned around to me VERY quickly. Roger was honest in telling me there was nothing wrong with the amp, it was probably just bad power at my place, which turned out to be true (interference from running Ethernet through the power receptacles in my rental house). Roger demod the amp for me in the shop, showed me the insides and assured me the work of the last amp tech who restored the amp was top notch. We even got to chat a bit about old Ampegs and how awesome they are. I greatly appreciated Rogers honesty and how prompt he was. I now have a healthy B15n and I know where I will be taking it when it needs maintenance.

Found out about Roger and Universal at a guitar store by chance. So I called and ended up taking my 45 year old Pioneer Elite amp and pre-amp to Roger. They had not worked in some time...but they do now! They are so much better than digital. Roger is great to work with.Thank You Roger!!

I wouldve loved to give them my business but the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was extremely unprofessional and rude. Hate to give a bad review based on that- but it was truly offensive to treat a customer that way. Hopefully he was just having a bad day!

I have an old KLH Model 20 turntable and speakers that my father bought in 1968 that had been sitting in my brothers basement for the past few years gathering dust. They needed some TLC and Roger did a great refurb of the speakers and fixed a problem in the turntable that was causing one of the channels to go dead. It sounded great in the shop, but when I got it home, I had a loud crackling sound. Roger was awesome and said that the new repair was under warranty, and he took it back and ferreted out another problem in the power supply that he fixed gratis. Huge dedication to getting these up and running again and the system sounds great. Thanks Roger!

I cant say enough about the great service and wide range of amplifiers Roger has fixed for me (Aragon 3005, Classe CAV-75 and a Parasound 2205A. All were fixed and well below what it would have cost to ship to the authorized dealer. Highly recommended for higher end home amplifiers.

I am a semi-professional guitar player with a variety of amps and other electronic gear. I can usually do most simple repairs myself but I had a Fender Blues Deluxe Amp with a weak distorted sound that I could not fix using all the usual methods -- looking for shorts and/or changing tubes etc. Universal Electronic took the amp and got it back in top notch working shape in about 30 days. They were direct about how long the repair would take and offered me the option of having it done quicker for an extra fee, but I have other amps so I opted for the normal schedule. They called me when it was ready and I was pleased with the work that was done on time at a reasonable cost. I also have a Roger Mayer Vision Wah, which is a sophisticated high-end wah pedal that developed a loose connection that was intermittent and driving me crazy as it was impossible to find where the problem was coming from. Again, Universal did a great job in finding and fixing the problem within the time promised. So my experience with Universal Electronic Repair is quite favorable and I would bring my gear to them again. Sometimes you can find a person who does repairs out of their garage or basement to do this type of work cheaper, but this is a bricks and mortar shop with at least a couple of employees, so I didnt think the cost was unreasonable.

Absolute professionalism coupled with the sensitivity needed to deal with the aritistic class. My Kurzweil 2600 is back in the game and sounding like it is brand new.
