I started working with Clayton homes back in June of 2021. I have yet to close it has been 5 months now.I got approve 5 months ago, picked out the home that I wanted only for Jenna to tell me a week before closing that they no longer build that home that I pick out 5 months ago.After founding out that I no longer could purchase that home. It seem like they were picking homes and trying to push them on me. After jumping back on the internet to found a home all over again, house that I would like for some reason I couldn’t get, even though I was approve $260,000.It got to a point where the seller of the land no longer wanted to wait because Clayton home was taking so long. Also there has been set backs on Clayton home behalf that I knew nothing about. Please think twice if I could turn the hands of time I would have wasted my time else where. They lie tell you what you want to hear and do nothing. I’m for sure seeking a lawyer now smh it’s been so stressful

Love the young brunette lady that took the time to speak and cover all my questions. She sits in the desk next to the door in the office. We spoke about a model that sits in the front that was sold. Any who she was very knowledgeable about her job and my needs. Great place to look for home.

NO COMMUNICATION!! Nicole does not keep her word, makes promises and does not follow through with them.. Was told nothing but lies, kept all text messages and emails for this reason, she constantly went back and fourth clearly not remembering what lie she had already told! Be ready for this to be a long dragged out process! They deal with the same lenders all the time, which you would think would make the process easier since they know which paperwork said lenders need, never had everything in order, mistake after mistake!! Nicole tells you everything you want to hear not the facts! As big as this company is, they need to have more sales people, more contractors lined up to do work if another is not available.. WORST experience ever! EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES!! NEED to concentrate on deals you already have in progress instead of trying to get more and more and getting deal mixed up! NOT PROFESSIONABLE, UNORGANIZED, LIE AFTER LIE! FIRST AND LAST TIME DEALING WITH CLAYTON HOMES!! Nees to pull your heads out of your as*** and learn how to do your job the correct way... STAY CLEAR, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

The best experience to buy a home from. My boyfriend and I were clueless when it came to buying a house. We knew what we wanted but couldn’t put it into a house. Nicole was the best salesperson to have. She was there with us the whole way. We changed our minds multiple times and she was always okay with it and just rolled with it and always had something to show, (she definitely knows her houses). She kept us informed on everything even down to the smallest details. This is our first and forever home and we’re so blessed we had Nicole along the way with us. ❤️Definitely go see Nicole If you’re looking for a new home!

I went looking for a manfactured home to purchase.The salesman was great.He did not follow me around so I was able to look on my own without pressure.I was disappointed that they had no 2 bedroom homes on the lot.Most of the homes were much larger then I needed.Didnt see anything that impressed me.

If you are in the market for a home and are beginning the process of looking dont waste your time going here. I just stopped by the home center to see if I could look at a house on their lot and was told they are not doing open houses at this time. You must do the paperwork (run your credit) to see how much you can afford before they will show you the houses in your price range. This may be a Clayton hom policy but I didnt read anything in the CVOID disclaimer about having to do paperwork prior, it did say make an appointment with a consultant. Just want to make everyone aware so you dont waste your time driving there.RESPONSE TO OWNER:I believe you misunderstood what I was saying. I have no issue making an appointment to view or speak to a consultant regarding questions I may have. Due to our global pandemic and I can understand the process to protect employees, customers etc from extracting the virus. However, I was NOT told to make an appointment. I WAS TOLD: FILL OUT PAPERWORK TO RUN YOUR CREDIT TO SEE THE HOMES YOU CAN AFFORD THEN WE WILL TAKE YOU TO VIEW THEM.

Very friendly staff. Gave us a key and let us walk around and through the homes at our leisure. We our first time buyers and were definitely nervous and and excited and full of questions and they put us at ease and walk us through everything step by step.

Clayton Homes has great inventory and models to choose from, you can go wrong! They also have also partnered with us to refill the Blue Ridge Food bank for the month of January and a great friendly place that loves giving back to you and the community! Thank you for all you do!

Excellent customer service and facility

Everything started out great. Nicole seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. But after a few weeks it got really bad. The communication was horrible, took days and some cases weeks to get a response from her. The general manager is a joke. Promises made, but never came through! All said and done, I asked for my deposit back, This was a month ago. I have emailed Nicole and of course, no response! What kind of business is this! I WOULDNT give them a dime of my money if they were the only place in the country!

So far clayton homes has been great. Jenna is great at her job. If i have any questions or need anything I can call or email her and she is always ready to help. I would recommend clayton homes to anyone.

No. When I went there 4 years ago, the guy did not help me at all and didnt let me view a home I was interested in. Said he was busy and gave me some pamphlets. My wife walked in and he came out with her to go look in the home and gave her a tour, when I walked in behind her and my mother in law and he seemed surprised or shocked. Idk if it was because I was a person of color and she is white or not but it seemed that way.

Nicole ,,,is the best . She really did a good job on helping us pick our home and land,she went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of.

PLEASE READ before even thinking about getting a home from this location... Friendly people... thats about it. We started working with Clayton in Jan. 2018. it had been a stressful road... we are now in November 2018. We were told looking at moving in October, then beginning of November, then the middle of November now the end of November. And we are to be moved out at the end of November at the home we are in now. They are not easy to work with nor do they keep in touch about things. We know the rain has messed things up, but they are slow in getting things done. Other things we could list... but just note you may have a LONG wait and like us, you might lose money. Stressful...Update (December 12, 2018) Still not in our home... Tell us the snow messed things up, but who worked on anything on a Sunday? And what does snow have to do with the last finishing touches and inspections? And right now we have no real heat to keep warm and no way to fix meals, and Clayton could care less.

My fiancée and I started this process over a month ago. We filled out the application and done the pre-approval. We had never done this before and it was weeks with no response. We finally got a response last week, but we had already decided to go somewhere else. Seemed helpful in the beginning, but just seemed too busy to help someone with questions on their process.

Lazy salesman, lack of work ethic, bias and customer, no service instead of customer service. When you walk into the business. The salesman act as though they are doing you a favor. They make their living selling double sided, because they are bias in who they help. They lose out on the opportunity to make a sell. Their rating is zero.

Clayton Homes of Charlottesville is amazing!! On June 3rd my home was lost due to someone setting it on fire. We spent the following couple of weeks working with the insurance company. They told us it would be about 6 months before we could get in a new home. Since we had purchased our first home from Clayton in 2000 we went right to Clayton homes of Charlottesville and met Nicole and told her our story. Her and Britt helped us find a home that I loved and fit the money we had from insurance. They removed my old house and graded the house site, bought in a new home and planted grass seed. In September less than 3 months from the fire they handed me keys to my new home. I have never seen a company with people so helpful, hard workin, caring and thoughtful. I would recommend them 100%. My new home is amazing!! And Nicole and Britt are the BEST!!!!

Clayton homes Charlottesville worse experience ever they are quick to take your money then give you the run around wont return calls didnt schedule any appointments to go over properties took it upon themselves to pick your lot and house and say this is all well do i had picked out a house and found a piece of property i was interested in they didnt even attempt to work up a price or put my bid in on the property i had already talked to the realtor had her send soil samples perk tested and all other paperwork to Clayton Homes of Charlottesville they made no effort I would not recommend anyone dealing with this place

My boyfriend and I went to Clayton homes and it was one the worst experiences ever . Poor customer service. The salesperson, she was very rude and sarcastic. Is this your company as a whole ,rude and sarcastic or is it your employees. The lady that we talked to couldn’t sell me a dog house , she was just that rude and disrespectful to first time home buyers that needed guidance and help in buying a home.Very bad salesperson

I am not happy with this Clayton homes I gave them a chance even being told they are the worst and also read the reviews. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt but I see I was wrong. They took my deposit and I was told one story after another on seeing the land and making a offer for the land. This I can say that I should have listen to the reviews because they didn’t lie. From my experience so far this is not good and they are playing this waiting game with land that I would like to purchase but they seem as if you have all the time in the world and that no one else desires land. I was told next then next week and then the end of the week and nothing. My advice stay away like the reviews say. Unless you want a headache and want to be aggravated and disappointed.

Clayton homes has been great from the first time we walked in the door in July. We had to walk away from a housing deal that fell through from a realtor and we were so disappointed and decided to give Clayton a chance since we were already pre approved. Nicole greeted us at the door and had guided us through every step. She even found us a mortgage company that offered us a better rate. The timelines she gives are realistic and helped us pick out land plus make really nice touches to our home. The company is great but I highly suggest dealing with Nicole if she is busy, wait for her it’s totally worth it. I was stressed over all of this house stuff and texted her at 9pm on a Friday and she answered right back (cheerfully I might add) you’re just not going to find that kind of service anywhere else. Don’t look at the other reviews I’m glad we didn’t.

If I could rate less than one star I would. My husband and I went yesterday and the sales rep DID NOT want to be bothered at all. He didn’t bother to introduce himself and had the nerve to tell me to look online because he didn’t want to show me the models. No customer service at all. Worst experience ever! Hell will freeze over before I ever waste my time here again. Run, don’t waste your time stopping here. You’re better going somewhere else and letting them meet your housing needs.

Horrible experience so far. My mother and step father were in the process of buying a new home here. They were rushed to get the deposit in so they could hurry up and get started. That was over 2 months ago. They havent even gotten the land yet. We were told that the salesman had put a contract in on the land my mother wanted and that they would hear something in a week or so. Two weeks went by, we heard nothing. My mother called back today and was told that the land is sold, he never even tried to get it. So here we are, 2+ months after the deposit, and literally nothing has been done. Her salesmans name is Michael. He doesnt call to keep anyone informed and its hard to get in touch with him because he is always either off work, or on vacation. My mother talked to the sales manager today and was promised that they would get to work, Ill keep everyone updated. But as of right now, there is no possible way I could recommend this Clayton HOMES.

I agree with Janet and Ralphs review and if I could give less then 1 star I would as well. They never call you back. The are very unprofessional and it has taken over 8 months from the time we paid our first deposit and my daughter is still not in her home. And they would never call us back when we needed updates. Then when we got angry and gave them a piece of our mind about everything the sales rep had the nerve to call us and tell us how rude we have been to them and they dont appreciate it. Then the incentive they offered us for everything they put us through they lied and said they are not going to pay it because of the additional work they had to do to pass inspection which was their fault in the first place.

If youre interested in buying a mobile home, formally known as trailers, shop more than one dealer. You should make sure that you see the actual home youre buying before its delivered and compare it carefully with the model. If you dont, you may miss little things that you assumed were the same as the model. My disappointments were realized after it was delivered to the park where I currently reside. Those include no dishwasher, no garbage disposal, kichen cabinets on the inside are left unfinished particle board, kitchen lower cabinets under the sink have no backboard with the plumbing exposed, no air conditioning unit, light and bathroom/kitchen fixtures are second class, and my second bedroom closet has unfinished walls! Be careful in your choices and double check and/or make comparisons to the model before you sign the papers. Lastly, it seems once they have your deposit and whatever percentage down, dont expect things to move at anything but a snails pace! Good luck!

Had almost the exact same experience as the reviewer, janet, except with the woman working there. unhelpful. we were greeted coldly by the man working there, and we left knowing about as much as we did coming in after talking to the woman. she said that liability wouldnt allow any home tours to be conducted, wouldnt give us pricing information on the house we want to buy. couldnt have made it more clear that we werent worth their time. take your sign down if your home tours end at the sign promoting them, so no more people walk in and walk out five minutes later feeling like an inconvienence.
