Gerhardts is arguably the best source of chocolate and related product in Charlottesville. Definitely worth a stop to browse and consume a variety of delights. Overtime I have found that some products are executed much better than others. The discovery of what floats your boat will be very enjoyable as you decide which of these work best for your palate. Even the items I did not think were spot on are still tasty morsels. So go visit and enjoy!

Neat place with delicious, handmade chocolate! You can watch the chocolate being made Mon-Fri, 10-4. I noticed that you can have wine and chocolate get-together or bridal showers at Gearharts. I included some information from the brochure.

Amazing chocolate. Its also fantastic compared to almost anything store bought if you are looking for high quality ingredients.New location is better in every way than the last except one. And thats the location itself. Hard to walk by here while on a casual stroll. But it has much easier parking.Gearharts should be on everyones must stop by list in Charlottesville.

As a former employee, and sometimes customer (as my budget allows), I cant recommend this place highly enough! If gourmet chocolate is your thing, the Gearharts Fine Chocolate is a must!

Always quality product, always kind staff. They are a little pricey for anything other than the most special of occasions and important of gifts, but they are certainly worth the occasional indulgence.

Best chocolate in Charlottesville! Friendly staff, family owned and lovely family. My sister used to work for them and she loved that job so much. Also, got all our family hooked on their chocolates. Once you try these chocolates, you wont want to eat local chocolates from anywhere else.

Amazing local chocolate shop. They make their own chocolate. They have plenty of free samples, a friendly and helpful staff, and good coffee and tea in addition to the chocolate. Prices are quite reasonable.Special note: The flourless chocolate cake is out of this world.Wife approved ;)

Awesome local chocolate shop with some lovely choices of pastries and chocolates. You can even get a coffee and hot chocolate option. There is a window where you can see into their shop and see how the chocolates are made. Really enjoyed the truffles and the chai-spiced pecans. Definitely check it out if you are in the area or need a little hostess gift for a party or a small gift for a friend.

I love the staff, theyre always so cheerful. Im a fan of milk chocolate and theirs doesnt disappoint. The Vanilla Bean Brulee is sooooo addictive. The Apricot Brandy is also very good.

I love taking my kiddo for a treat after class at Carver Rec. Its quiet, spacious and lovely.

Some of the flavor combinations in the chocolates are really creative and delicious. I tried the dark chocolate caramel with balsamic vinegar + smoked sea salt, and it blew me away.

Great to see them expand, there literally isnt a business in charlottesville I have more adoration for. They have a beautiful new store, you can watch them make the chocolate and its as beautiful as you would expect. It is worth every penny, it is more art than chocolate. Best chocolate this side of the ocean,Only complaint is the sort of grumpy owner. I get it, I dont like people either, but leave your very competent friendly employees to run the front. Its great chocolate, but he is no people person. He always seems sort of horrified by people (that varies from horrified to moderately annoyed). He seems to smile a bit more for the ladies who come in dressed up, but listen here buddy, I dress like a farmer, I drive a cheap truck, but Im the one who spends several thousand dollars on chocolate every year because PRIORITIES! Using his supernatural magic, Chris Chan has gained access to a dimension identical to the fictional work hes created.In this parallel dimension Chris chan is a very powerful god like entity.In 2018 it was said that a dimensional merge will come and bring the end times.

I would give this place 10 stars if they were available. Its not just the chocolates but the pastries are insanely good and with good coffee to match, this place is hard to beat!

Great local chocolatier, been in Charlottesville for 17 years, you can see them make it right on site! Great flavor combinations and they have other things such as bars.

I don’t live in Charlottesville anymore, but get a box of these chocolates shipped to Oregon for Valentine’s Day every year. These will always be some of my favorite chocolates, one of many things I miss about Virginia.
