The store is really nice, clean and calm and I was able to take my time. I was never pressured to up my budget. Went to Morrison to purchase an engagement ring with my girlfriend, she determined her ring size and selected other elements such as halo and cut. I made a second appointment with the same salesperson to select the diamond. When I arrived, she was busy with another client, so I had to communicate all of the ring and diamond information with a new salesperson which was frustrating. A few days later, the original salesperson messaged me that the ring was ready. When I arrived, she asked for my name and why I was there. A month and a half after purchasing the ring, one of the prongs is loose which Morrison is fixing for free. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of my expectations.*Updated: Morrison is remaking all 64 prongs which is very generous and above what was expected.

I will forever be indebted to Joan for coming to my rescue. I live in Columbia SC and had my engagement ring cleaned and redipped at a jeweler in Columbia a few days before my wedding. When I received it back, it looked dingy and worse than it did when I brought it in. They told me there was nothing they could do to fix it.My wedding was in Charlotte and I had to leave for Charlotte that day. I have been to Morrison Smith twice and have had a great experience both times.Im writing this review to give them a shout out for going above and beyond recently - I came in for a jewelry fix and was given a quote for it, and got a call back saying that the fix actually needed a different kind of work that would cost an additional couple hundred dollars and that they would see what they could do. They called me back the next day and honored the original price for the quote even with the extra work!I wanted to sincerely thank Morrison Smith for being upstanding and going the extra mile for customer service, and I know my jewelry is in safe hands. The name says it all, Fine and Custom Jewelers - but I would add the word, great to their title! Whether it is an unusual estate piece you looking for, a modern piece that no one else has, traditional and elegant jewelry, or a custom piece, Morrison Smith can be your one-stop-shop. We had the opportunity recently to have the craftsman here design and make a custom ring and earrings with some cabochon opals we had acquired elsewhere. I cannot state enough what a great experience it was! The patience, attention to detail, obsessing over the finest detail, and FRIENDLY customer service, is exceptional. They are not happy, unless you are thrilled. I also need them to expand my wedding ring, as the years have added a few, well alot, of pounds. Given the complex ring design and multi-color gold weaves in the pattern, I was told through the years by others, it may not look the same after expansion - so I left it in the jewelry box. Morrison Smith, however, said, no problem and did complex surgery and design matching to expand the ring - and - the final result is flawless, precise, and the added section is indistinguishable from the original. THANK YOU Andrew and team for bringing our thoughts to reality and for being such great craftsman - well treasure the pieces for years to come.

I was in Charlotte several days before Valentines Day and decided to stop in and see all of their changes.I knew Ginny had retired but I was not concerned; Morrison Smith always had a good sales staff that went out of their way to ensure their customers were alway satisfied with their purchase.Rob Bireley greeted me at the door and ask if I was looking for anything in particular. I told him I had seen a sterling silver intertwined tube bangle on the website and would like to see it in person. He walked me over to the counter where they were located. I was amazed at their selection but my eyes were fixed on the bangle I had viewed on the website.Bingo! In twenty minutes I was walking out the door with my beautifully wrapped gift in hand and was extremely happy with my purchase. I had a custom ring made in memory of my father who passed away earlier this year. Sam was a personable and great sales associate and Andrews design and technical skills combined to bring to reality a ring that was exactly what I had envisioned. Anyone looking for great service and high quality jewelry design and production Morrison Smith is the place.I also had two automatic watches from the 1940s-50s repaired and serviced. One Bulova and a Elighn. The watches were returned to their orginal luster and work like new. Couldnt be happier with the service done on the watches.

I had a wonderful experience with Morrison Smith. After one of the diamonds in my wedding band scratched the bottom of the aquamarine in my engagement ring, I was so worried that it had caused permanent damage, and my ring would never look the same. I worked with Samantha and Luen (sorry for misspelling his name for sure), and they were amazing. They assured me they could repair my ring and fix the setting in a way to keep the diamonds from ever scratching the aquamarine again. I am a tough critic of most things, and I swear I like my ring better NOW than when I was proposed to! They fixed the prongs on the underside of the ring that seriously made it more beautiful. I cant recommend them enough!

They ate lovely folks and have some really nice pieces that are unique. But please DONT bring your watch here; I kept telling them what was wrong with one watch and after leaving it with them four times I gave up. Another watch they took in twice and it doesnt work either. Also I bought a new band for it but the loop that holds the tail of the band came unglued In just over a month. Thats not their fault but i wish they had higher quality bands.

I was not a customer but needed repairs to my engagement ring and wedding band. I took my rings in and Tom was so wonderful—he put me at ease and within a week, they were repaired, cleaned, replated, and better looking than when they were new. They worked with my jewelers insurance and took care of everything. I am so happy and any new jewelry purchases will be done here.

Absolutely exceptional service. I came in needing a minor adjustment for a watch. Typically, I would not expect much in the level of service in a place this high end. Yet their watch repairer stopped what he was doing, made not one, but three separate adjustments to my watch. It frankly was a major pain, but youd never know it from him.While I was waiting, I mentioned to their sales team my need for a diver watch band. They typically didnt carry this type of product (again, due to being high end) so instead of saying no, they first tried looking up the product. After that they went into their stock of old watches, found me an old band and invited me to keep it if I liked.When the adjustments to my watch were completed, they handed it back and refused to charge me. I asked if there was something I could pay them and they smiled and said a return visit. I absolutely will and so should you.

My brother-in-law and I picked out my sister’a engagement ring together (from Samantha) last year and my fiancé and I just purchased our wedding bands today from Tim! I’ve had a couple pieces of jewelry worked on by Morrison Smith and they are so friendly and very competent. I had my white gold wedding rings re-plated there and they looked brand new when I got them back. I also had a wide, gold Tiffany ring resized and it looked brand new, fit perfectly, and was done in the timeframe indicated when I dropped it off. The people are friendly and they are very transparent with their craftsmanship- you can see them working in the shop through the glass, and all work is done on-site, so no worries about your precious jewelry getting lost in the mail. Prices seem to be reasonable, as well. Would definitely recommend them as a reputable, knowledgeable, and dependable jeweler.

My partner and I decided to create a custom engagement ring and we wouldn’t go anywhere else for ANYTHING - they do everything from custom jewelry, repairs, cleaning, etc. there truly isn’t a project they wouldn’t take on. Seriously, you won’t want to spend your money at any other store.

Our experience with Morrison Smith began when my (now husband) reached out to Sam to custom make my engagement ring! We knew that after working with them (and how gorgeous my ring was) we would be going back for our wedding bands! I was so exited to be a part of the process of designing my wedding band, and we were able to figure out how to get my husbands band as well. When we picked up our wedding bands we wore them for 4 hours that night and we didn’t want to take them off! We did though, and waiting until the ceremony when we would get to wear the forever!They were so attentive every step of the way, and answered every single one of our questions! Im so happy with my experience designing a custom ring for my mothers day gift to my mom. A very sentimental ring was stolen from her a few years ago and we were heartsick over it. When I worked with Tom and Betsy I could tell they cared about getting this recreation perfect. The end result was better than the original and my mother wears it every day now. I felt concerned initially about the level of service we might receive from any custom jeweler because we were not seeking assistance with an expensive piece. To Tom and the staff it did not matter. They treated us exceptionally well regardless, and without even knowing the full story behind our ring (below)...The piece we brought in for a repair, resize, and appraisal belonged to my grandmother. She is not well and will not be with us much longer. The piece does not hold much monetary value, but it does have a significant amount of sentimental value. She gifted the engagement ring to me (her granddaughter) and wished for it to be resized and worn by me following my engagement. It was hers from her marriage to her first husband (my grandfather who is now deceased). The ring is beautiful, well fitted, and was completed in a timely manner. Most importantly - my grandmother approves and cried happy tears when she saw it. I am so grateful! I cannot say enough about Morrison Smith.

I had my engagement ring and wedding ring repaired here, and my experience was so incredible that I dont think I will ever purchase new jewelry or repair my existing jewelry anywhere else. The staff were so careful with these rings, which mean so much to us, and the restoration work they did definitely exceeded my expectations. I was very apprehensive about getting my engagement ring sized as it was my moms ring and designed for her. Her ring size was a 7.5 and mine is a 4.5. Morrison Smith reassured me that they could do it and they could do it fast! Based on other websites I read, I thought it would take weeks but it took 2 days! I picked it up yesterday and it is beautiful. They cleaned it and re-dipped it and it is the perfect size. There were a couple of questions they had once they took a deeper look into the ring and they were very communicative. I hand picked the diamond and customized the ring, and I never felt rushed trying to make it perfect. Samantha was a pleasure to work with and was excited to meet my fiance when we returned to select our wedding bands.

Before coming to Morrison and Smith I was very frustrated about the process of getting my vintage engagement ring fixed. However, from the moment I went into the store until the time I picked up my ring, I truly had an amazing experience. Samantha helped me very much from the get go. I have jewelry that I no longer wear because it is yellow gold. I took in a beautiful yellow gold ring with a blue topaz stone. After speaking with one of the jewelers, Tuyen he said I could “Rhodium” plate the ring and make it white gold. I was a bit skeptical but was amazed at how beautiful it turned out. We could not say enough wonderful things about Morrison Smith! I never write reviews but Morrison Smith is so outstanding I felt the need to share. My husband and I both had very unique ideas about what we wanted and needed for our wedding bands. They required custom work that was also a bit rushed. The owner, Chuck, immediately drew up what we wanted (which was impressive since two other jewelers couldnt even come close) and he delivered the most stunning rings in record time! My husband and I both get compliments to this day. As a result they have gotten all of our business- jackets for earrings, a new diamond necklace, and even fixing an old family heirloom. All of the employees are warm and friendly and they really can deliver whatever you want... you just have to go in and tell them your vision! Best around!!!!

Morrison Smith is the neighborhood jeweler you will find yourself in again and again! They are cheerful and welcoming from the moment you walk in. I take my pieces here for cleaning and polishing and my sister always looks forward to browsing when she visits from London. They do a yearly diamond visit to Antwerp and the annual sale is not to be missed! There’s even a little area for my toddler so I can take my time. A true “diamond in the rough” here in Charlotte!
