I went in and picked up a stack of comics for my cousins birthday, took to the register. The two employees were engaged with a catalog and ordering something for the shop. They acknowledged my presence but did not seem to understand I wanted to buy 15+ comic books. I left the store and the books at the register. I will never go to this store again.

Great little shop. Staff was very helpful. Lots of vintage toys and a plethora of comic books from every conceivable publisher .

Rebel Base was a delightful and nostalgic discovery. The store itself was a little hard to find as you have to go down a flight of stairs and a hallway; however not a deterrent. Upon entering we were greeted by the staff and began a lovely journey down memory lane. The stores inventory was both diverse and rich spanning the gamut of classic toys to modern offerings. The selection of comics were well displayed with promises from the staff to order what you couldnt find.What really caught my eye however, was the collection of vintage toys. I saw toys I remember fawning over as a child. Despite being small the space was well used; however there were a few distractions from the experience such as stacked cardboard visible from the back and toys that hadnt been stocked yet haphazardly placed in the storage area. These minor blemishes do not take away from the selection or reasonable prices. Was worth the trip and will be returning.

Was in town for a convention and had extra time to kill. As a long-time collector I was impressed with this shop. They had multiple copies of a hot book other shops were sold out of and a nice selection of back issues going back to the bronze age. If youre in the area worth a visit.

The selection of comics and collectables in such a small space was quite the sight to behold, but the pricing was definitely a bit steep. If you are looking for some truly rare items and are willing to fork over the extra cash, this spot is the place for you. The employees were very knowledgeable and friendly.

Absolute favorite comic shop around Charlotte metro area. I always go at least a few times a month. When I visit they always play a fun animation/cartoon tv show or movie so its not dead silent in the shop. Some of the reviews say rude owners behind the counters, and on maybe on a particular occasion it was not a good experience for them, but Ive NEVER had a bad experience with the guys at Rebel. Love it there!

Excellent selection of new comics and back issues as well as LOTs of toys and collectibles. Dont let the sign outside fool you! Great Clips does not sell the comics and toys...the Rebel Base is hidden behind the Great Clips inside the building. Ha ha!!

Is a unique little shop. It has everything for the comic book and pop culture fan. My boys loved this store.

Great comic book shop. You can open a box and theyll save new comics for you. I placed an order for an older comic. They have a good selection of back issues and nerdy toys.

First time visit. The staff was awesome and helpful. Comics were easy to find. However they did not really carry the more dark ones I enjoy. Most of it was marvel DC stuff all great!!! If thats your jam.

They hosted a power ranger signing. It was listed from1-4pm. I drove 2 hours all for the owner to say that he booked the guest to fly home at 4pm. Which is understandable but what is unacceptable is knowing that information and still publicly advertising this event ends at 4pm. Barely even got an apology the owner just told me I could catch the next signing in South Carolina sometime. I even called to confirm the times before driving 2 hours. So unprofessional. You couldn’t pay me to support this place.Signed- one very frustrated nerd

Ive been buying my comics and statues from here for decades. Their DC/Marvel selection has decreased over time but if you have a subscription they will find what you need. They do have a wide selection of indie comics that is quite impressive.

It’s been years since I last visited Rebel Base but today I dropped in to see if they had some comics to rebuild my collection (some of these were older titles and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to find them locally). They had a fantastic selection and I found a bunch of the comics I wanted and at very reasonable prices. The staff was very polite and helpful and I will definitely be back to continue adding to my collection.

I’m a huge funko pop collector. This store had so many amazing finds and for a decent price. The workers were super helpful. I’m glad I found this place because I will for sure be going back.

Great place, alot of books and toys to browse. They had a good selection of back issues as well as new releases. The only negative thing I would have to say is their more rare books have zero wiggle room even if some are over priced. So the price you see is the price youll get. Other than that great staff.

This place is an awesome little hidden secret! The staff was super friendly and was just excited about the collectibles I was looking at as I was. They have a great selection of Star Wars items as well as Marvel and DC characters. They also have Bandai models tops! The prices seemed to be appropriate.

Nice niche comic book shop. Loads of collectable toys. Obviously by the name a star wars haven. Guys who work there were nice and helpful even though they didnt carry what we were looking for.

Has the best selection of Pop Figures and other unique collecables! They are alittle overpriced with their figures but the pop figure prices are spot on. They also have current selections of comic books which is cool! Definitely check this spot out, but know that it isnt visible, its downstairs of the shopping center next to Great Clips. 🤖

They have always been very helpful whenever I go in. My boys have enjoyed going there since they were young. Willing to order items they wanted.

This store is packed with comics and toys. It was a bit of a cluster and the statues were difficult to fully see. It could use some reorganization for sure. The guy working seemed mostly disinterested.

I’ve been collecting comics since I was ten and in all my years, I’ve never been to a better store than Rebel Base. The staff is incredible, knowledgeable, and always goes the extra mile for their customers. The comic selection is amazing, as are the collectibles. You can create a pull list to hold your favorite books, and by doing so, you’re given a discount on pulls with 5 or more titles! It’s incredible! If you love comics, THIS IS YOUR HOME STORE! If I could give this place more stars, I would!

Actually liked the store! First time in Charlotte and found that awesome store! They had collectibles for all groups and ages! Not every toy had a price so it was hard to tell, but still nice!

I was excited to visit the store for the first time 12/17/20 in the afternoon. One of the guys behind the counter was super rude in tone, snarky, and overall just discourteous when asked for assistance. I just ended walking out of the store...won’t be back. Definitely wouldn’t recommend paying for that kind of treatment.

Great shop. I go here every time I figure out that Ive missed a newer issue of something and 99% of the time, they have it. Back issues are a different story. That part is cluttered and hard to look through sometimes. Staff is great!

Great store. The owners were awesome and lots of knowledge surrounding newly started series I went there to buy the new Cosmic Ghost Rider issues for my son. Being a Mom unfamiliar with this world, it could have been difficult. But they patiently answered all my newbie questions. I absolutely will go back and frequently. Huge selection of collectibles and variety of comic storylines then anywhere else in town. You want to come here first before trying other locations. Thanks guys for the tip on upcoming items

Amazing selection of...well you name it and they have it. Toys, comics, trade backs, collectibles etc. The owner, Troy, is humble, informative, passionate of his store and an overall awesome dude! They have the best pull list discount in Charlotte by a long shot! Dennis, who normally works there on Wednesdays, provides solid recommendations and helps you navigate through the store. If youre there on Wednesday youll feel like youve known this guys for ever.THE best comic book place in Charlotte. Period.

Enter and youll find it has one of the best selections of comic books, graphic novels and toys Charlotte has to offer.Theres lots to look at too as literally every corner is filled with some type of nerdy, geeky collectible. Bring lots of money if youre looking to complete your collection.And if you cant find it - you can always ask one of the staff. Theyre knowledgeable and friendly and willing to admit when you might be better off searching online or at a competing store.I give 4 stars instead of 5 simply because its not the most organized shop in town. Be prepared to dig a little for some of the hidden jewels. Ive been a customer there for years now and Im certain there are still layers yet to be discovered.In conclusion, if you love pop culture, comics, toys, figures and games... Give Rebel Base a chance. You might find yourself right at home.

This is a phenomenal place the staff are knowladgable, incredibly helpful, and they treat you like an old friend.This is a true comic shop it has a warm welcome (like home) it is everything you think a comic book shop should be. Toys, games, figures, comics everything from new all the way to the begining and everything in between. Deffinitly going back and highly recommend

Great place! Had a huge selection of hard to find items with kind staff.

Selection is good and better than most places but most things are overpriced, sometimes by a large margin. Most comic book stores do have some kind of up-charge but this place is significantly higher than most places. Their high pricing makes me often walk out of this store empty handed. Comics are always pricey and the action figures even more so. If youre looking for a deal do not go to this store.

Stopped in over Thanksgiving to grab some issues I missed at my local store and was pleased by the wide comic selection of recent issues. My only complaint is poor organization of the recent issues but Id guess thats more a function of people constantly looking through them then anything else. Would definitely stop by again if Im in the area.Also they offer some kind of discount if you subscribe to issues which is always a plus at your LCS.

This is the best place in Charlotte and surrounding areas to get anything comics or collectibles, period. I live way up in the University area so to get here is quite a drive, but its well worth it. I love how everything from the floor to the walls are covered in goodies. Other comic stores around Charlotte (wont say who) dont seem to keep up their stock, almost as if they order too few comics. But Rebel Base on the other hand, has every comic Ive needed and Ive been coming here since I moved to Charlotte three years ago.

Awesome place, prices are fair. They have many issues old issues and a great library of newer comics as well. Highly recommend checking this place out. The location is pretty cool too.

Huge selection of old issues and toys. This is a 80s kids dream shop. Its small and hard to find issues once inside, but they have great deals and just about everything youd want. Be careful to read the parking lot signs.

This place is very comic and you heavy, great to explore. Comics are well organized and the vibe are easy to pick through. Youre are petty much everywhere, old and new. Less heavy on cards, though they got a selection. Nice sized trades and Manga section in the back.

Very large selection of comics and toys. Would love to see more indie comics or manga, but for what I go for they have exactly what I need. I love the location. Itd be nice to have a reading chair or two but it doesnt ever take me long to figure out which comic I want to read next. I bring my friends!

Great Shop. Amazing amount of current back stock. If you missed a few issues or a series, you more than likely will find it on the racks.Huge amount of toys, pops, statues, and much more.

Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable staff. They have a little bit, make that a ton of everything. New comics, back issues, new and old toys, table games, Lego, you name it. They buy collections as well, just make sure you go on a day when Troy is there.

Rebel Base has everything - and they may have too much of it. So much stuff literally stacked up makes it hard to find what you want at times. BUT they leave their back issues out on the shelves for quite some time which allows you to pick up some stuff that other stores no longer have out. Their sales can be epic- I just wish their space was twice as big to handle the stuff they have. Employees can at times be too interested in playing games on the computer or not be as helpful as you would like.

Stay away! I picked out a few items I liked and was going to pay the prices on the stickers. Once they found out what the items were, the employees tripled the price and would not even try to work with me. Terrible customer service.

Great selection, less than stellar staff. I was looking for several specific comics, and Rebel had all of them but one. When I asked if anyone else might have it, the staff told me definitely not, and that everywhere else was way more expensive, and that I was better off waiting until Rebel Base got it back in stock. Turns out several local places had the same book for the same price. The staff is not particularly friendly, either, and kind of give off an air of arrogance. Unless Im looking for figurines, Ill take my business to A. Pennyworths.

I went here after a big let down at another comic store. They were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. My son with Autism loved it. This will definetely be our go to comic book store. It should have a better rating than the other one.
