Bizarre experience. I went in with 2 bags of clothes and a bag of shoes. They told me they were unable to accept my clothes in the plastic trash bags and that I would need to find a reusable bag or bin to put them in. Not sure why this is, I would assume the opposite would be easier, but I found reusable bins for them anyway and brought them back in. As I was handing over my clothes I noticed 2 trash bags full of clothes that they were sorting through. Not sure why I had a different rule but they told me I had to be back by 6 to collect any cash. They told me there were a few people in front of me and that it would take them at least an hour before they could be done with my items. I decided to head home and 11 minutes later I got a text saying my items were done. Strange, but I headed back. When I came in they informed me they were unable to take any of my items because they were being very selective about the summer stuff they were taking right now. 80% of my items were fall and winter... after I told the boy this he said it also just comes down to wear and tear. Most of my items are expensive brands and many things had never been worn. I decide to let this go and brought all the items back to my car. As I was placing them back in my car I noticed that all of the clothes were still bundled together the exact way I had placed them in these bins. They had never even gone through or looked at my items at all. Im a working mom and this was a colossal waste of my very little free time during the days. Very strange experience. Dont bother taking items here. Im sure its a fine place to shop, but if youre trying to sell, just go straight to platos closet.In response: It was all freshly washed and stain free. As I said before, many items had never even been worn before and still had tags. It therefore was obvious that the clothes hadnt even been looked at. Not a big deal, I took them somewhere else. Just a weird experience that others seem to have had as well...

This store was fabulous. Im use to shopping at Platos Closet, but this store was a bit more pleasing to the eye (had a stylish layout). The prices vary and can be a bit higher, but they also have $1-$5-and $10 clearance racks. Most of my shopping was off clearance because the clothes didnt look like something on discount at all. I was shopping for chic attire and I got it. They loose a star because there are no shopping carts or bags to hold your stuff.

I love this resale shop! We relocated from Michigan, where I had some great choices in consignment & resale. Although we live in Davidson, I’m always willing to drive to Charlotte to do business with this location. I’ve sold Chanel to them & various other designers. They seem to always be as fair as possible. They are professional & I highly recommend them. PS the owner is respectable and nice, too!

Awful experience. I went to sell bags of clothes. They proceeded to tell me it had to be in something like a box or reusable bag, so we went and got boxes. They then proceeded to tell me that the folds needed to be folded. Which made no sense seeing as how they UNFOLD every item to look at them (no logic there). Once I gave them my items they said they would text me and let me know when everything was complete. I knew there was some kind of 4pm deadline as I had overhead them tell another lady, however they did not mention that to me. I received the text that they were finished AFTER 4pm. I called a little later as I had a child to tend to. When I called to ask if I could pick up my money a little later as I had given them the OK to donate what they did not take, the manager told me that it was now store credit and I would not get my cash. I had let her know that that was NOT communicated to me and that I wanted the cash, as that was the sole reason I took my items there in the first place. They told me sorry, thats the policy.Due to this I will NOT be using the store credit they gave me as I think the whole thing is a scam. That is why I did not receive the text until after the 4pm deadline that they were finished. I am in IT, systems do not delay that long when sending out a finished text. Youre better off giving your clothes to Goodwill and knowing that some scamming company is doing their best to make every dollar they can from sellers with this scam.

My experience is always great when I go. They greet coming in and out. Alway have some awesome sauce clothing and more at excellent prices. I just can’t seem to stay away. If you have never been here, you need to be running to it

I generally have a good experience here but was recently really dissatisfied. I arrived too late to sell a bag of items intended to be sold at the store and asked if they wouldn’t mind holding it while I shopped. I however forgot to ask for the bag when I left that evening and by the next afternoon they items were send to donations! No one informed me at any point that items would be donated (especially the bag itself). When I called back and asked to speak to a manager I got a rude response taking no responsibility or giving me any credit for items lost. I was also informed they were basically too busy with customers to give me any more attention. I asked for the warehouse manager to call me directly and still have not heard back. Hopefully things will be sorted out but I am leaving a review because on unacceptable customer service.

This is a great place to shop. You get the best brand of clothing for the best prices. I love the clearance racks.

I had the most wonderful experience selling my designer handbag. Sara was delightful. She also helped me with something else. She did it all with a smile and so graciously. I checked in my bag as the male employee was rubbing lotion on his legs behind the register. I took a bag of clothes of 30+ items. Some new with tags. He brought NONE. Seems like they want to be like Forever 21 or other clothing stores that DONT buy and ONLY sell items. Goodwill should take them over. Tops, Bottoms, Bags, Accessories, and Other Items are Over Priced. Items are priced like brand new items in this store. Go to macys and buy brand new clothes for the price that youll spend on the used clothes in this store.

Great customer service! So much fun to hunt for fashionable bargain at Uptown. I sold clothes to them for the first time today. Easy process.

I only shopped here, so I cant review the selling-aspect of the business. They have a really great selection of mens and womens clothing, and everything was super clean. I found pricing very inconsistent and confusing, though, with polyester clothing from fast-fashion brands (H&M, Forever 21, etc.) priced the same as/slightly more than higher quality fabrics from better brands.

Staff is always very friendly, always such a great selection of clothes, and great prices! Easily my favorite place to shop in town!

The customer service is lacking most days. Upon reading some negative reviews I agree to an extent with most however some I try to blow off and just think its unwarranted complaining but then seeing the owners responses to some of these confirm their feelings. Owner seems to blow off anything negative and is extremely defensive. Do better instead of discounting peoples experiences.Update since google doesnt allow people to respond. What you need to understand is that if I have a problem with the customer service most people will leave instead of spending money at your business and thats what Ive done on at least 3-4 separate occasions. Thats why you dont have my name in your system. I will NOT be providing the number my fiance has used the 1 time she has purchased from you. She refuses to go back

We have been coming to this location since it opened, however, after today. I am not sure that we will be back. Only took 3 items, two items of which were definitely worth more than what we received. $12 for 3 items. There was a note on the drop off receipt that said clothes were Worn, Old, and Stained as their reason for not taking the items. My wife definitely called the staff out on the stained aspect because NONE of the stuff had stains, yes, we checked the items after leaving the store. After inspecting all of the items, we found not a single item that had signs of wear or stains. A couple items might have been an older style, however, were still gently used. The items we brought home were only worn a handful of times. Talk about old, the mens shoes that were taken, were purchased about 6 years ago. I make this review because my wife and I have found numerous items in this location that is definitely worn and plenty of items that have holes in them as well as major stains. Not little stains that would come out in one wash, but stains that would require much more work. If the item is not what the store is looking for, then simply say that. Dont lie and say stuff is stained and worn and old. I dont buy that BS.

I had a great experience on a Sunday. The staff and security were very nice and upbeat. My selection of clothes were accepted. Fast forward to 3 days later, the service was below standards and none of my clothes were accepted!! I’m not sold on the staff.

I can’t believe I wasted my lunch break to come here. My first time at this location was 3 days ago where I spent around $250. The staff was super friendly and encouraged me to make an appointment to sell some of my items. I forgot her name but the girl with the short black and green hair was so helpful. She told me to bring whatever I could find to sell because they are always taking “different styles and brands”. The only additional instruction I was told was to make sure the luxury items were separate from regular.Fast forward to today, I am very obviously struggling to get the door open with my storage container of items. No one helps, no one welcomes me, no one even tells me where to set my bin down. From that point on I was so frustrated. I was treated MUCH different when I was buying vs selling.After a few minutes in the store waiting for my items to be reviewed (I had roughly 30 items for review. Some with tags, free people, Celine heels that were only worn TWICE by my mom, well kept Jimmy Choo kitten heels, etc.) I was told they would give me $21 in store credit. Yep, $21. The reason they couldn’t take the items were apparently due to them being “summer styles”.The reason for my frustration is I was never told in store when I made the appointment that they were not taking specific seasons. I would have NEVER wasted energy and over an hour with travel of my time if I new how big of a waste it would be.The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is for my 1st experience in the store. I think it’s clean and well organized. But I won’t try to sell here againEDIT: The store manager called me the same day I posted this review and was kind and apologetic. She offered to meet me personally to review my items if I ever wanted to sell at this location again. Great customer service on her part :)

Very nice, big, clean store! The store looks like american eagle. Most of items seem new. However i wish that they never did grand opening during covid at least in June would of been better. There is a serious racial undertone article this location. The staff members are not engaged when it comes to customer service. Management is condescending and unorganized. They are unable to process buys property with a lack of communication. Will never shop or sell here in the future.

I’m only giving 1star for the selling your stuff part. I sold a brand new pair of Adidas sneakers and some other clothes so the young lady there told me they’re only taking 4 items and they’re giving me $16 cash or 22 store credit so I was thinking they probably didn’t want the shoes so I signed the paper. I asked what did they take she showed me it was the shoes and a few shirts and if I wanted them back I had to buy them back... they should really show people what they’re taking first just an curtesy but place like here an platos Closet are a scam they bought the shoes for $16 and going to resell them for 60 or so your better off selling your stuff else where will never sell here no more but would get some clothes maybe
