Coming from Toledo in July my son found this Fantastic meat store for me..We went and fell in love with the owner and staff..Ribs where delicious and meaty..The slice thick bacon with the rind was the bomb...the taste brought me back to my Aunt house in Madision NC1988..Keep up the good work🙏

I love this place. I have been coming here every sense i was a kid. My mother and grandfather would bring me. Now that i am grown i come on my own. They are friendly, the prices are fair. Its a great place to purchase your meats.

1st. And far most, West side meats is the only old fashion butcher in Charlotte NC. Thats a fact! 2. The prices are reasonable. 3. Some of the best meats chicken pork and frozen fish you will find. 4. Its a black family owned business thats been there the 70s .4. They are very southern and friendly.

GREAT PLACE TO SHOP! They will even do custom cuts on certain meats. I have been shopping there for years.

Being originally from Philly, there are plenty of butchers in the city when you go down to the Italian Market in South Philly. These guys here remind me of those establishments as they are a straight up butcher with a great selection of meat, fish and cold cuts to choose from.Now that I know that it is African-American owned I will patronize their business. Now I got to find me a good Spice shop that sells various spices for meat like they have in Philly and I will be straight!When I saw the Philly Steaks in the glass counter I knew that I had to hook up a Cheesesteak for myself today and it was delicious. You guys got my business so as I told my wife we will be hitting you guys up once a month from now on.Ciao!

Does anyone know why they are closed on Saturdays now? Charlotte is a densely populated business city, many people work during the week 9 to 5. Its literally impossible to come midweek 9 to 3. Saturdays are needed. The voice-mail says theyre open but online says theyre closed. I really hope this is temporary and not a permanent schedule.

Good it had just what I was looking for

I’m so happy I found Westside Meats! Ive been there twice and both times they have been friendly and accommodating; cutting-to-order my selections that they didn’t have in the case. You can’t beat their prices and they’ve always had exactly what I needed. There’s a ton of construction going on nearby so it’s a bit tricky to find the first time but I love having such a great alternative to overpriced grocery store meats right in our neighborhood!

I honestly have to say westside meats is probably the best butcher shop I’ve been to. The staff is always courteous and quick to take your order. The meat is always done the way you want it if you forget to ask they will always ask you how you want it. I’ve never had an issue with my order. If you had a higher rating I would definitely give them a 10 keep up the good work I will always be a loyal customer!!! Don’t change a thing!

Walked in great atmosphere from the beginning told the young lady that was helping me that i just moved here she asked from where i said Charleston so she helped with what i wanted then she made me felt like i was home by introducing me to a guy that worked there from home

If I could take the meat I purchased back I would, Im not from the Charlotte area and I was very disappointed in the service and the food. Once I got in my car and started driving I had an overwhelming smell of bleach and now Im in praying that scent is from the bags and not because my frozen not fresh meat was rinsed near bleach.The older gentleman that served me was quite pushy in the manner that he wanted me to allow him to make my decision for me. I asked him to weigh my meat and he insisted that it was the amount I wanted. This may be a regular practice for your normal customers, however I shop at a locally owned and operated meat market in Goose Creek SC for years and the meat is actually fresh not frozen and the staff is always helpful. I wont be returning nor will I send my daughter who just moved to Charlotte to frequent this establishment.

Omg, please do yourself a favor and visit Westside Meats! I just got back and had to write them a review right away. This place is no frills, all the meats. I walk in, they ask me what Id like, I said I wanted 2 ribeyes. They asked me about thickness, etc, and cut it RIGHT there. They are the most beautiful steaks (and for only $11/lb) Ive ever bought, I cannot wait to eat dinner tonight! Not to mention everyone I interacted with was as sweet as could be. The woman who helped me and rang me up was a doll. Her & her husband just celebrated 56 years together! I cant wait to give them more business... and get more delicious, fresh meats in return :)
