Store was full of bicycles so the selection was great! Staff was extremely knowledgeable and listened to how I would use the bike. I had a few bikes in mind and was able to test ride two bikes before deciding on one. The exact size I needed had to be put together. My salesman had it put together the same day. I was able to test it out and decided to purchase the Escape 3. I just finished my first morning workout and it went through the gears great. Thanks Jody for helping me get on the right bike for me!

On Jan 6th 2021, I ended up purchasing a fabulous cross country mountain bike (giant xtc advanced 29 3) from giant university city Charlotte. Exactly what I wanted, but only after working with Shane to identify the best way to get me what I actually needed. Extremely knowledgeable staff and they show keen interest to hear you in order to get something right for you and not just sell stuff. I told them that I am an out of city customer and wished to have the bike shipped out to Frisco, Texas and they packed it professionally for a nominal price. I would highly recommend them for anything bike-related for anyone in and around Charlotte or actually anywhere in states.

Bought a bicycle yesterday that was assembled in the shop. The seat post will not raise or lower and is stuck firmly in place. It is so low, that is not easily rideable. I have tried everything to get it to move and will continue doing so.

Had a great experience buying from these guys. So hard to find the Trance X Pro, ended up driving 6hrs to their shop b/c I was tired of waiting for it to show locally. Called before making the drive. Shane the owner was helpful and super knowledgeable. When I arrived he came out to greet me and chat. It was clear he cares about the bikes and the customer experience. He even printed out and annotated a trail map so I could go for a ride before heading back home. 5 stars, definitely recommend.

I bought the Talon 2 online and drove 4.5 hours to pick it up...without checking their hours first. I know! I was just so excited about finding this bike. I got there on a Monday to find they’re closed on Mondays. But the guy working that day (Chandler, I believe) was AMAZING and flexible with still letting me pick it up even though they were closed to customers. THANK YOU! Immediately took a ride on the greenway to test it out, and I love it—can’t wait to take her on some bike packing trips this summer. Highly recommend Giant University City in all the ways!

They gave honest and insightful advice that helped me make my decision. They never forced the situation and allowed me to do the research based on what they said. Customer service here is seriously exceptional. They may sell multi-thousand dollar bikes here but they certainly know how to work within a budget to get you back on the road. Ive gotten my 1972 Fuji Spree serviced here multiple times and every time I ride away pleased with the work and the price points.Do not hesitate to bring your bike here! Their optimism and professionalism is something that is hard to come by in a service industry such as bike maintenance. Glad to have a local shop that is as reliable as this!

The staff at Giant University is knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. Recently, I came in to look at some gravel bikes. I was able to test ride a couple of options. There was one bike that I had my eye on that had sold prior to the test ride. I ended up purchasing a Giant Revolt Advanced at a store out of Charlotte. After owning the bike for one day, the sealant in the front tire had deflated. I contacted Giant University and Mark along with the rest of the team explained why this happened and had me bring my bike in to take care of the issue. I was able to pick up the bike after they monitored the tire for a couple of days and go on my first gravel ride the next day. I highly recommend Giant University!

Integrity, knowable, and helpful. These the word sum up the staff at Giant University City. These guys are awesome. Im new to mountain biking and wanted a more road-focused bike for training and exercise when the trails are closed. These guys knew what bike I needed (even when I didnt) and hooked me up with a bike that fit my requirements. I tried to ask about more expensive bikes but they geared me toward the right bike for my situation and they didnt try to upsell me to the more expensive one. They provided great support and setup the bike for me teaching me about it and how to maintain it, even though it was close to closing time. Ive shopped at other Giant retailers in the area and have not received this level of service. A+++

I purchased my TCR and have had all of the service done at this location. The service leaves a lot to be desired. If youre interested in someone being condescending while accepting no responsibility, this is your place. They have never responded to any email that Ive sent them (Ive sent three). I purchased 2 tubeless continental tires from Giant after experiencing a flat. 3 days later the tire failed. At issue was the sealant was coming out of the tire near the stem. Also both tires were placed on backwards to which the service guy only responded with oh sh*t  Instead of attempting to come up with a win-win, he proceeded to educate me on car tires ....yes car tires and use that as a parallel as to why they would not be accepting responsibility for how the tires on my bicycle were installed as well as the sealant seeping out. He was condescending and unprofessional and offered no solution for their errors and only advised me that they do not accept tires back. When I left Giant I received an email telling me that the patch kit that I ordered arrived (no one said anything about it to me in the store because they were just interested in getting rid of me). I asked that they refund my money for the patch kit because Id no longer be doing business with Giant University....as you might expect based on their email etiquette I did not receive a response and I havent received a refund for the patch kit that I never picked up. The relationship with Giant starts off good because they are focused on sales but if you run into any issues with service be prepared to be ignored or dismissed.I purchased a Giant TCR and subsequently have brought multiple friends here for bike purchases, most recently I brought a friend to this location to purchase a Liv Avail. The sales aspect is actually pretty decent. It lacks in that they dont do any type of fitting once the bike is purchased. Youre on your own. Picture is of the tires put on backwards. shows a lack of attention to detail. Im sure Continental has a reason for the tires to go in a certain direction.

I had a great experience purchasing a new bike. After I said what type of riding I was interested in, a bike was recommended. I was able to give it a good test ride out back to make sure this was the one I wanted. Also bought a few recommended accessories, including a helmet. After purchasing, was told the bike would be built and ready in a couple of days. Picked up it no problem. Friendly staff, very helpful would recommend.

Bought my bike earlier this year and the sale process was simple and easy. Staff member was knowledgeable on my questions about the bike. Recently, I had forgotten about the introductory service being 90-day, and I went well beyond that, but yall were gracious enough to honor that service for me. Very much appreciated! When I talked to the staff member about the service he was professional and offered good advice going forward. After picking up the bike from service, it noticeably shifted gears even better. My husband and I bought a bike for me several weeks before Christmas as a gift to me. The last time we purchased bikes for ourselves was more than 30 years ago, so we had many questions. Wyatt was so patient in answering every question we had and he really knew his stuff. Very impressed with all the staff in the store; very knowledgeable and made us feel like we were the only customers there. We purchased a helmet there and came back several weeks later to purchase a bike rack for the car. Went back to store today as I was having issues with the fit of the bike due to a knee replacement I had earlier in the year. Mark (store mgr and excellent bike mechanic) installed an extender on the handlebars to make the bike a more comfortable fit for me and easier for me to bend my new knee when pedaling. He was so patient and understanding of my situation and didnt let me leave until I was comfortable and happy. Additionally, owner of the store came by to make sure we were being taken care of and were satisfied. Awesome service from EVERYONE weve had contact with in the store and it made us feel good to do business there.

Im from Virginia and bike shops and inventory are very limited in my area anyway. The pandemic has created a severe inventory shortage in bike shops in my local area. I shopped around local and could not find the bike I wanted in the size I needed. So I went online and found Giant University City bike shop. This shop had the bike I was looking for in the size I needed within my price range. So I purchased online and picked up in shop.I made a 2 1/2 hour drive from Virginia to pickup in store.Upon entering the store, the shop appeared neat, clean, bright and well stocked with inventory. The staff was helpful and made sure my bike met my expectations. I will consider Giant University City bikes for future purchases. Thank you.

Giant did a great job for me and got me a great value on a closeout year-end model bike that ended up saving me more than 1/3 of what I would have spent otherwise. They answered all my questions along the way and helped me with minor service adjustments later as well. Highly recommended.

I have bought three bikes from Giant University and live about 30 miles outside of the University area. That should tell you something about this bicycle shop. I know customers can be difficult and me included and they were always eager to communicate by phone or in person. You rarely have a bicycle shop or any retail store that bends over backwards to make sure the customer is happy even in challenging situations. I highly recommend Shane and his shop and will buy or service my bikes their again. It’s worth the extra drive to know that they actually care about the customer and stand behind their bikes, maintenance, and service.

The bikes have a great design, very good quality and components, but most importantly, they feel great to ride! It was the best “cost vs. benefit” option I could find. Also, very well organized store, clean and big enough to display all products. You can find everything you need in one place, from a bike to a helmet or a rack. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. They provided great recommendations and were a key factor to help me decide my purchase. Thomas went above and beyond to help me select the right bike, what pressure to use on tires and shocks and even showed me how to set up the rack on my truck. Congrats for a great service!

Mark, and many of the people whove worked hear over the years have always been great to deal with, and patient with me. I usually dont buy things on first or second visit. But have purchased two bikes here when they were a trek store, and just purchased another new bike, Giant MTN bike, along with several other items over the period. Always answered any questions I had, and filled in the info I didnt know. I already tell friends to come here, and will continue to shop here.

Hands down my favorite bike shop. Charlotte has many great bike shops, but I keep going back to Giant University City. Im a recreational cyclist that does ~3,000 miles a year. I have found the prices, service, and humans here to be the best. The Performance tune-up done on my 2011 Trek 2.1 led to a faster smoother bike. The basic repairs done to my sisters beach cruiser were completed while I waited and all done at an affordable price. Ive tried other shops and had good experiences there too, but Giant University City is the best.

It was an excellent experience first time picking up giant products picked up a 2020 Giant Talon 2 absolutely love the bike and the features very well-built lightweight and stylish.

Very pleasant experience. Mark was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Though unable to resolve my hydraulic brake problems, due mostly to my time constraints, they didn’t charge me for their service. I’d nit only do biz with them, I’d recommend anyone in the Charlotte area to look them up for everything cycling related.

Edit #1:After clicking on the link on the main Giant webpage for a 29 mountain bike, it said Giant University City had one in stock. Thats why I ordered it from GUC and we drove six hours round trip to get the bike. It wasnt until I got it home and had it for a few days that I realized the bike I thought I purchased was different from the one they sold me. Ended up with a 27.5, not the 29 I thought I purchased. After further research, the 29 page linked to the 27.5 bike and called it 29. So technically, I did purchase a 27.5 because the bike was entered into the system incorrectly as a 29. Check your specs online and in-store folks! *Removing a star.Edit #2:On my first ride on the bike, I had such a problem with the drivetrain skipping and popping that I had to pay my local bike shop to fix a brand new bike. Disappointed with how poorly this bike was assembled. *Removing a star.Edit #3:After about 3 weeks of riding, my bike developed a creak in the bottom bracket. Over the last two months this creak has grown from a slight sound when I pedal up a hill to a loud creak with every pedal stroke. Pedaling on flat terrain or up a hill sounds like a rusty seesaw and its embarrassing to ride on the trails. Im guessing the threads were not properly greased or something similar as I keep this bike clean as a pin and its only a few months old. Once again I find myself headed to the bike shop to pay them to fix a brand new bike.*Removing a starOnly store within 3 hours of me that had the bike I wanted. Ordering online was quick and very easy (although it was ultimately the wrong bike). The team member that helped us spent about an hour answering questions and helping us look at options for my wifes mountain bike as well. We probably asked some silly questions, but we didnt feel judged at any point, and the staff was extremely helpful - going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to give us a great experience.

Ive got two bikes on the roof of my car that I need to get packed up into boxes, because I am moving internationally. By chance I bump into one of the managers or maybe the owner in the parking lot. He pleasantly welcomes me inside, helps me bring the bikes in and fills out a work order for them. With all the things going on, this was a ENORMOUSLY helpful, since I will not have to make another trip. The greatest part, is he did this after hours, he was on his way to his car to go home for the evening. Such great customer service.TL;DR: Stayed after hours to help me unload my bikes to be packed, saved me loads of time! My experience with Giant bike store @ University City Blvd. was amazing. From the first day I walked in to purchase my bike, the sales associate Shane made everything simple and was clear to the point with every detail regarding layaway. When I went to pickup my new bike the following week, the staff took the time to make sure I was purchasing the right accessories and kept their promise of applying my 50% discount to all my items as well as, spent the time assembling my new bike rack onto the back of my car. I will definitely be making my new bike purchase from Giant and spreading the word to my friends and family about the excellent customer service I received!!!

I have been using Giant University City (I knew it as Bike Line of Charlotte before I moved back to Charlotte) for years. They helped me pick out both my bike and my wifes bike. They assisted me with the fit, price, and outfitting it to commute to work. I bought a MTB. Both bikes are in great working order and shape because I bring them into Giant University City to get serviced and checked on. They have great products, free classes, and the clearance table never disappoints :-) I still pay retail for the majority of my purchases but hey there are those other time :-) Dont just take this review as a they must be great... Go see for yourself!!!
