This is one of my favorite stores but I didn’t like how the lady working at the store treated me. The young man that works there is always nice and polite.

I went here 9:40am 9/8/21 and store was not open . I think you should change hours to correct time so people don’t have to waste time and gas coming to a close business .

This place charged me $9 for a $3 bag of marley hair. And the place was disorganized. I will not go there or recommend it to anyone.

Really small and cramped. Over filled with boxes and random things everywhere. Most things were not labeled with a price anywhere on them or even near them. Cashier was not very helpful. Kind of stand off like and short. Prices actually werent too bad to be honest but probably wont be returning.

The owner of this establishment is so warm and kind and I have been shopping here for years. And now that my daughters are older we are here more and will continue to shop here. Please stop by and support my dear sister.

Good shop. Has all the hair products that my daughters and I need and want:). Lots of brands of conditioners, shampoos, oils, extensions, hair jewelry . I make a special trip to get my hair products here. The owner/staff are always helpful and neighborly. Great community business. Appreciate them.

I don’t think I have ever gone there without the lady at the register being on the phone on a personal call. I wouldn’t say she is rude but definitely not very professional. The store is totally cluttered you can barely move around. I bought $3.00 braiding hair and needed to exchange but she insisted it was not the hair she sold me. Does she really think someone needs to Profit off a $3.00 pack of hair. I had left the hair in my car trunk for quite some time and since I was going to the grocery store decided to change it for a different color. The hair was DEFINITELY purchased from her and the bag was not opened. Any business owner who reacted the way this woman did for such a worthless and inexpensive item does not deserve my business. I’ll do like everyone else and drive past her store and take my business elsewhere!!

This store surprised me! They have a lot of selection as far as hair color, different colors of braiding and crochet hair, and natural hair care products! It was our first time going today, but we will be back. The lady running the store was also very nice!

The owner was extremely polite however their selection was very very limited. It was also not enough room down the aisles to properly look at what they did have. Also 95% of the store didnt have prices on the product. I wont be returning. I will just have to drive the 30min to Tisuns

Helpful staff, not following you around like youre going to steal something. Pretty much anything you need in for your beauty routines from hair to face. Nice selection of raw shea butter and wooden earrings. Little surprise goodies around every corner!

Horrible experience. Owner was on the phone the whole time. Prices are too high when other stores around are cheaper. If an item doesnt have a price on it, she just puts in a random amount thats probably 2 dollars more than just buying at a different place smh. Never going back!

The owner of the store which by the way I forgotten her name. This BEAUTY STORE basically has everything that I want and more. I wanted a particular brand of edges for my hair so I dont perm so often. And the owner worked with me by ordering so many of them. March 10th 2019 in the A.M. after church I went to picked up my items and then some. You dont see what you are looking for and she will try her best to accommodate you the best to her knowledge. Therefore I informed her that Im leaving the states and going elsewhere so I completely racked up on perms, hair accessories, and etc... trust and believe youll not be disappointed with what Im saying about the owner. I’m not from Charlotte but if I ever come back I would visit this beauty supply. The wonderful lady behind the counter was so helpful and understanding. She does not want to sell you something just because. She wants to make sure it will work for you and not many vendors care like that. I give her a A+.

Best beauty supply in Charlotte. They are well stocked and very knowledgeable of all things beauty. They appear to be run by a mother and son and both are super sweet and helpful each and every time I visit. I love coming here :)

The second time I enter to this store and the same attitude I receive from the woman at the register. She is being rude.

One of the best salons Ive ever been too-when I mentioned that my parents were health nuts, the hairdresser actually ran to the nearest store to get me and my sister some snacks! My hair ended up looking silky smooth. I dont get my hair done often, but when I do, Im definitely coming here!

They have plenty of products all different brands, but they dont carry all of a brand just certain ones for instance I use Carols daughter hair milk and they had only the almond and Carols daughter has many different varieties. But other than that its a good store.

I purchased some hair glue from here that wasnt good, took it back the next day and the lady argued with me about the 1$ old glue they sold me. She kept trying to tell me I got jt from somewhere else even with my receipt. I never stepped foot back in this store and never will. They quality of products sucks, and after looking around most of the products collects dust! That explains the old hair glue. They need to learn what customer service is and apply it to their hair store. I never recommend this place to no one. They also dont have a variety of things anyway.

Discriminates against Asian customers

Soon as I walked in the store. A Indian lady was putting stuff on the self. She turned around looked me in my face and didnt greet me. That right there made.me want to turn around. But Im not from the area and that was the only hair store nearby. I continued to shop, she not once asked did I needed help. Coming from working in retail, always assist or check on your customers. I continued to look for my hair. She still didnt speak to me or nothing. When I got to the counter I ask her did she have crochet needles. She just rung it up. I saw it was $1.69. So, I just simply asked her did she have any $1.09 crochet. Instead, of answering me, she took the crochet needles out the bag. And voided it. I told her No I still want it. Just wanted to know if you had any cheaper ones. I tried picking a conversation with her by asking her what was the gospel station she were listening to. Wheres the customer service?

Please do not waste your time or money. First of all the incense smell when you walk in ugh... The place looks like a front for something else. The woman working there tries to con you into selecting over priced bad quality hair from their sad selection. Save yourself the aggravation. I drove 10 minutes to Carolina Beauty and snagged 4 pack of very decent quality hair for BOGO. Ill never return to this place...

I will never shop and do business at universal beauty supply ever. You will never disrespect my child over a donut container of edge control that she claimed my child slam down out of place. She stated Ill fix it. My daughter said what I do. She then stated to my child Ill just tell your mom which I was standing right outside the door. So I ask my child what happen she explained. She proceeded to ring her other customer and stated to that customer in her language, then stated in english calling my child UGLY,STUPID,GHETTO. The other customer stated to me what was said and gave the same story as my child.However she denied that as well and stated the other customer wasnt telling truth either. She also tried to say my child called her ugly. My kids know I have zero tolerence for disrespect.Ive notice on several occasions shopping here observing the way she treats certain customers. As she stated Im a mom too and she respect me. Im a mom that know my child and no we will never do business again for something that seem so small that she created the issue...

The place is a typical, smaller beauty supply store. But, the owner was quite sassy and ignorant toward black people, mainly those from Charlotte, not knowing where Ethiopia is. Well, my mom and I arent from here, and she tried it thinking we didnt know our geography. There are educated black people is what we told her and those who travel the world. Anywho, nothing to brag about there. I love Tisuns anyways. We happened to be there and just stopped by to inquire about a really nice wig on the outside window.

The lady that works there is so disrespectful and rude. I went there and the lady told me and my family to hurry up because she was ready to go . Then when she was bagging my mom hair and gave it to her she made it fall . I will never return to that store she was very disrespectful and I just don’t think anybody should be treated like that.

Do not go here!NOTE: This is reference to the hair salon in the back, not the store.Do not get your hair done here. I went to Gevada (aka Veda) for a different hair style, something that will allow my hair to grow out. She stood me up for 1 1/2 hours, had an attitude with me when I asked her about my hair, chopped the front of my hair into lengths I did not ask for. She and the shop are unprofessional, the shop is not clean, and quite notorious for bad business. She also claims to know a whole lot about hair, when the weave she did on my hair was pulling it out.Save your hair and yourself the trouble, go somewhere else.

The store is convenient. However, im giving one star, because the stylist charged to much for my hair. All I got was a few braids on the side and some in the back not to mention I had to purchase the hair bun and the hair for braiding which I didnt get back. So with that being said why was my hair 85? I avtually was upset and my mom looked at me like i was crazy for playing that. The stylist doesnt tell you the price upfront which shouldve been a red flag for me but I was due for a hair style and been searching foir months since relocating. I have to continue my search and salons in NC are so overpriced.

So I walked into the store, no one greeted me or asked if i needed help with anything, automatically I smelled a bad vibe. I let that go and carry on with my shopping. After I grab my first item, I proceeded to the hair section, the employee at the front desk(she looked indian) looked at me but didnt acknowledge me whatsoever. And something told me to leave, but i still carried on. So Im looking at the hair at the back wall, this is the first time Im having my hair done a certain way, I couldnt find what I was looking for. So I walked all the way to the front and ask the clerk to help me find hair for a vixen crotchet. She looks at me coldly, and and points to the hair on the wall and says its there. I explained to her that I was already in that section, and I need a little more assistance for I didnt see what I was looking for. Then she snaps that they were out. So now irritated, I told her that I all I needed was assistance and she sternly told me to go back to the wall and she wasnt allowed to go back there. So after telling her that it was her job to assist the customer when they ask her for help, she asked me for a picture of what I was looking for. I showed her a picture and she proceeded me to a box close buy and told me that this was what she had for the picture I showed her. So finally, I find the hair I was looking for and I went to the register, after paying for my items, the employee insisted that I was being angry for no reason because once again she brings up the excuse that all the selections were on the wall and if I dont see anything next time, they are out and to not get angry with her(like it was my fault for asking for a little assistance. I will NEVER or give anyone my money that does not respect me.
