This place is full of magic! I have been coming here for years for random day trips, quick stops after the beach, even a first date! I love checking out the shops, seeing the animals, and my favorite part-the bamboo forest! I recently got engaged in the bamboo forest and the owner and staff were extremely accommodating! They went above and beyond for my fiancé’s secret plan. They were so kind and helpful. They played a huge part in making our engagement special. From our first date to our engagement, the umbrella factory will always hold a special place in my heart! If you haven’t already been, it’s definitely worth the visit. We come from CT as often as we can to experience the special things they have here. Truly a gem! Coming to the umbrella factory will definitely become a family tradition.

If you don’t come here then you’re totally missing out on a great Rhode Island experience. They had their very own bamboo forest which is very rare and I’ve only ever seen one in Hawaii. They have a beautiful greenhouse with some extremely rare plants for a reasonable price. The little hippie shops are adorable and I end up spending all my money every time totally worth the trip!

I REALLY LOVE THIS PLACE!!!💯It was my second trip here.It has a cool 60s hippie vibe.The grounds are just beautiful!!!Dont forget to check out the Bamboo Forest while u are there.The only downside was the selection of items compared to my previous visit pre-pandemic.Sadly, the quantity and quality of items is definitely down so minus 1star for that.😪I purchased a maxi dress and to be truthful it was hard to find something I liked.

Very unusual place to visit. Lots of unique items to see purchase. The flowers and greenery are fantastic. The bamboo forest is something to see. We spent about an hour there. Definitely a place we will go again. Note: I did not see any umbrellas ;)

Truly the most fantastical place Ive been to in a while. My family and I make a point of visiting here at least once a year to see the adorable animals, breathtaking art, lively gardens, and of course, the hippie vibe. I always feel at home here, surrounded by alternative culture. There is something for everybody at the Fantastic Umbrella Factory, and I stand by that statement. Whether youre a witch, pagan, Christian, Indigenous, Buddhist, or anything else, there is something for you here. At first its a little overwhelming, but the experience is totally worth it.

One of my favorite places to adventure to in R.i. They have all these great shops spread around on the beautiful shady property with tons of beautiful flowers, bushes, trees, grasses, and bamboo. You can purchase gifts from all around the globe in these shops, they also have rare and exotic plants for sale. Great place to go and relax, very peaceful there. ❤

If youve never been to the Fantastic Umbrella Factory, I suggest you take a trip down! Theres several very cute shops and tons of great gifts. I highly recommend taking a stroll through the bamboo and giving the emus a look while youre there!

Nice people but more of a flea market feel. Thought it was going to have a more home made feel that a place that sells mostly Chinese goods. Nothing against Chinese goods, just not what I was expecting. This place has a chance to be great with some changes. Wish them the best.

I love this place and go as often as I can. Ive purchased many articles of clothing and jewelry from here... all of good quality. The atmosphere is so relaxed and beautiful. The greenhouse is exceptional!

Adorable and unique place. Kids had a great time wandering in the bamboo forest and counting chickens wandering around! Adults resist plant and candle hoarding while comfortably letting children wander within sight. Something for everyone to enjoy in the shops!Cafe is closed for corona but food truck with what looked like seating will be up and running next week a gentleman said.Worth seeing for sure. Great social distancing practicing and clean outhouse.

Cool place. Bamboo forest is cool, emus are like scary little dinosaurs, they dont bite... hard. Got an awsome sweater and a thumb drum 👍 stop in, its worth the trip.

My girl recommended this area while im staying in RI on military orders. and i can now see why.... because this place is great! theres a well kept bamboo maze and the livestock are super friendly.for real, ive never had chickens walk up on me before. but i can tell the emu wasnt my biggest fan.

This place is an adorable hidden gem! If the smiling animals can’t brighten your day then the kind staff, beautiful grounds, and darling shops will have to do it. By far one of my favorite places that I visited in Rhode Island!

List its 60s mojo. Maybe its due to the covid? Only 3 of the vendors were open at 11am on a Thursday in Sept. I saw sad potential customers walking away.

Great place to enjoy. Enjoy the beautiful gardens, animals. Gift shop, Candy store, Antiques, Nick knacks, toys, games, Arts and Crafts. Theres a lot to look at and lots of things to buy. Take time to enjoy the beautiful grounds, take a stroll down to the barn. Little bit for everyone. note: order buildings and not all are handicap accessible. 2 story buildings also not accessible. Still plenty to see.

Really cool eclectic place to visit. Mix of souvenirs, handcrafted items and live plants. They have a bamboo forest to walk through. Goats, emus, and chickens walking around. A nice sitting garden and plants lining the walkways.

Stumbled upon this place coming through RI one day and I am glad I did. The grounds are pretty huge, and include multiple shops in various buildings, a bamboo forest, emu and other farm animals, a general store and more. The landscaping here is cool as well with lots of exotic plants all around the grounds. This is not your everyday shopping spot but a really fun place with really friendly staff. Take the fam.

This place is unbelievable, especially for children with the free range animals. The greenhouse is full of beautiful flowers surrounded by humming birds. There is no charge to go and its lots of fun;

The bamboo forest made music of the gusty wind today. The emus grunt is always fascinating. Shops are filled with real leople and products you can touch. Unlike Amazon, the great destroyer of locally run and supported business.

This is a great place to spend an afternoon meandering through the property, exploring. They have several unique shops which have some great goodies. Some stores were not my cup of tea but was still fun to look around!The animals were fun to watch and interact with (goats, chickens and emus). Our favorite was the bamboo field in the back.Im looking forward to coming back in the spring when Im sure there are flowers around!

A great way to spend an afternoon shopping enjoying the animals.

This is not an umbrella factory. When I first went there, it was more like a hippie commune gone commercial. You had a head shop, anything reggae shop, natural food eatery and more. The gardens were lush from the manure and compost from the animals kept there. The many arbour holding wisteria and trumpet vines were made from repurpose wood along with the fences. Today it has been upgraded but the gardens are still fabulous and pheasants still walk around the grounds. Make sure you go into the bamboo forest. Very cool.

Love this spot been shopping here often for years. I love how I can always find unique gifts here. BUT I was extremely disappointed when I was checking out in the candle shop and the cashier didn’t have her mask pulled up. Her mouth and nose were exposed. As a healthcare worker this was extremely concerning. Masks are only effective if you wear them properly.

Really terrible vibes and rude employees. Their website makes it seem a lot more interesting.

Such a neat eclectic place. The bamboo maze was fun for the kids. They said the cheeseburgers at the cafe were the best they ever had! Lots of neat little shopping areas and a henna tattoo artist. Super cool day. 2 hrs was plenty of time for a visit with one adult and two 7 yr olds.

Free to enter great little place to take the kiddies. Also they have several art type gift shops.
