A great place to stop in and purchase some plantain chips and chai tea. So glad I found this store while I was in vacation. Go visit this store.

India Spice in West Ashley is a great place for all things Indian food, groceries, and supplies. I have been impressed every time I have come here with the selection that they have available and it is unlike just about any other place in the Charleston area. The staff here is very friendly and helpful in making sure that you find exactly what you are looking for.

The owner was rude. While I was picking chilli to buy he was rudely told me to close the door. And said for 50 cents of chilli I m misusing his electricity. Then when I asked him why he is being rude he told me that I don’t have common-sense. And told me to leave and asked me to leave the store. He refused to sell stuff to me just over an argument. We often go there to buy stuff. Never going again.

This is a wonderful little shop, run by the nicest woman in Charleston. Indian cooking supplies and cosmetics. Great prepared foods.

We love this place; The first thing when we came through the door, the ownergowner us and went straight to our son and asked if it was ok with Mummy and Daddy to go get a special treat, walked him over to the biscuits section and gave him a pack of biscuits he grew up eating, sat him at the table and gave him a small chai to dip them in. He also gave us great recipe advice and got us all we needed and more, very nice and super helpful. Love the smell in there to it just is so earthy and full of spice.

The best place to buy spices and other speciality Indian products. The owners are amazing people and so friendly. There food is awesome too. As a Chef that specializes in Indian inspired cuisine its my go too.

I love this place. The home-made to go food is delicious. The owners are so friendly. They are happy to chat about how to use the ingredients offered in their store. One owner chatted with my 7 year old picky eater about Indian food, and when we got home my son tried the to go chana masala and liked it! Prior to talking to the owner, hed been unwilling to try Indian food.

We LOVE shopping here! They have a wide variety of items from cooking to clothing. We are here at least every other week, if not weekly. We used to love going out to lunch at Nirlep weekly but by visiting this store we are now able to have our favorite meals at home, much healthier.

In my adventures of new Instant Pot recipes, I came across one for Coconut Tandoori Chicken and needed a special spice that I knew I couldn’t get anywhere else but at an Indian grocery store. I walked in and immediately was greeted by a woman behind the cash wrap. Not just a “hello” but she was genuine with her greeting. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome. I knew nothing of the spice I needed except for the name. I asked for assistance and was shown what I was looking for. Thankful that there are still wonderful people in this world. Will come again when I learn more about the mass quantities of spices that they have!!

You can get almost everything for your daily need, fresh vegetables, spices, snacks etc etc.In case something is not available the owner is so awesome that he ll arrange it for you as an special order( will take few days of course but hey you are getting your stuff).Amazing experience.

Get your Indian spics here. Less options for South Indian groceries. Check the dates and quality before you get it. Some of the items doesnt meet the export quality. They just sell what they are getting, not much bothered about the quality of the product. Buy quality items from here and stay helthy.

Carries spices that are hard to find. Found amchur here, dont think I could have found it anywhere else. I was also pleasantly surprised by how friendly the gentleman working at the store was. He answered every question and had great advice. I plan on visiting again!

One of the best places in greater Charleston area to get Indian groceries. The veggies are phenomenally fresh, price is OK and the owners are cordial and professional. However they have very little options for Organic groceries.

Compared to other Indian Grocery stores in South Carolina this store is extremely OVERPRICED.Example: Vicco Turmeric cream is priced over $8, but at a similar Indian store in Columbia I purchased this cream for about $3.This stores Corn flour was also overpriced.I also dont like that many of their products DO NOT have prices attached to them. Asked the cost of Serrano peppers the wife gave one amount and the husband yelled out a higher price and the wife seemed surprised. This is a red flag that they will charge what they want depending upon the customer! We do not spend money with someone that is trying to take advantage of us!

Jaipal (sp?) welcomes you like family. Great selection, including some nice Desi produce (curry leaves, brinjal, bitter gourd, etc), tremendous prices on bulk spices and everything to make you feel at home! Samosas and delicious prepared meals available on request.

A nice little grocery with a much better selection of curries and Indian foods than at any conventional supermarket. Access is a bit hairy depending which direction youre going on the road.

Came across this place while visiting from up north. My friends family wanted an Indian meal so we came here to stock up. The owner was so nice! Gave my son some treats and made us feel so welcomed. Their selection was excellent. They also sell ready made food- we had samosas and dahi vadas. Delicious! They also have chai- yummy!
