Had a shimmy in my car. Took it down to Pep Boys and they put it through the works. Test drove it, let it idle, hooked it up and ran the engine testing. Everything passed with flying colors. They explained about air conditioning pull and put my mind at ease. Didnt charge me a penny. They said no charge and have a great day. Definitely worth going here for all your service needs. Highly recommend as a single female driver.

Jason, the manager of the service center is incredible! He was so patient with me and my son. He took his time with me discussing my options for a new tire. The mechanics in the garage worked so hard to get us in and out as soon as they could. Will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, a trip to Charleston took a turn for the worse when we were heading home and discovered we had a flat tire. Kenny was super understanding and helped us fix the tire. He had us in and out in under 30 minutes! We are so thankful we chose to stop by this location because if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t have been able to make the 6 hours drive home.

I asked for a oil change from my history, normally it’s high mileage they put. Asked for a tire located rear driver side to be repaired. When I picked up was told they didn’t repair because they didn’t see a leak and didn’t want to remove the “staple”. They inflated to 50 psi (only required 29 to 32). When I walked back in from picking up I asked about the tire sensor flash, Christina(new to me person) told me I have watch batteries in my sensor they must have gone bad. Called back after leaving talked to Larry, asked why my oil was synthetic and if my tires was rotated. He said he couldn’t explain why, I informed him I know the tires weren’t rotated because the tire I talked about is in the same location. I was asked to come back on Tuesday (I didn’t), I was told I can mix oil when I top off my oil. I have never left this place before feel like WTH happened to my car. I usually deal with Jason and he was not there Saturday and Sunday. I also got charged $20.99 for repair and rebalancing?! My tire is from there and it was not fixed. All of my tires needed more air. My car was not checked over, I wasn’t solicited for potential sales, aka my flashing tire sensor and probably other things like an air filter. I’ve always felt comfortable with my dealing with Jason and his no BS approach with anything my car needs to keep it running. I’m not comfortable with what happened recently on 10/10/21.

The lady at the counter was friendly as was the older gentleman. Two hours later, someone calls me and tells me my AC system is toast and needs a new compressor, evap, and condenser. I told them what the problem was, a broken low psi shrader valve. All I wanted was a new valve and a vac/recharge. They charged me for the diagnostic. I changed the valve and vac/recharged the system and for some miracle, it worked. Thanks for letting me know how you guys roll. I don’t know why you picked me to try and fool, but I see others give you multiple stars I wonder.

I just want to give a shout out to the staff and techs at Pep Boys. I have never used this company at any location before; however, my experience was definitely a good one. Dont know if it was cheapest. Friendly and very helpful.

Had a flat at 6pm on a Friday night. While I was putting on the spare, I was calling local places to see if I could get in. Found Pep Boys and Kenny was helpful. Told me to come over and they had the tire for me. Made it to the store just before closing and had a new tire on in about 15 minutes. Great and fast service!

Our maintenance required light came on in the middle of a road trip. Jason was able to accommodate us on a Sunday and did a fantastic job getting us squared away for a safe return trip. Service was prompt and excellent.

Very disanointed with the Pep Boys. I made an appointment online to install tires and alignment few days ahead for first thing in the morning, but when I get to the store I was greeted with an annoyed employee who told me my appointment was moved to later in the evening. I was told the online system allows for double booking and if I need to make an appointment I need to call them, which does not make any sense. What is the point of online reservation system if I need to call as well? Also the alignment machine was broken and nobody bothered to let me know ahead of time. I took my business elsewhere who were able to service my vehicle without a problem. I recommend you do the same: look elsewhere.

I am in the Charleston area on vacation. I got an alert that my left rear turn signal was out. I happened to be staying at a hotel just two doors down from this location. So I went in and asked about getting the bulb changed. The guy behind the counter said I would have to bring it by in the morning. Clearly his conversation with his buddy was more important than helping me. He probably couldve fixed it in 10 mins or less. Wont ever go to a Pep Boys again.

Set an appointment online to have brakes worked on. Was asked if I would be dropping off or waiting. I selected waiting. Arrived 15 minutes early. Was told it would be several hours before they could get to it even though I had an appointment. Manager stepped in and told them which vehicles to work on and what to get out of the shop so they could get to me. Waited an hour and was told my rim was rusted to the hub so they cant work on my brakes. No charge. But no work done. Amazing that I can YouTube a video on how to remove a rim thats rusted to the hub. Understaffed and lazy. Do not recommend.

Update: the shop now does vehicle inspections for Uber and performed mine for free because of the trouble I had.Visited them to get inspections for Lyft and Uber. I gave them both forms when I got there. They waited until after the inspection to tell me that they dont do Uber inspections. Now I have to find another shop to get my Uber inspection.

I was appreciative of them fitting me in on a Sunday with short notice

Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service on Savannah Highway in West Ashley is a great place to go for all things auto parts and vehicle service. This location is very well managed and operated and they make it easy to find that part you are looking for or fix your vehicle quickly for a good value. The staff here is very friendly and works hard to make sure that you are helped. I have had a really good experience every time I have been here.

The gentlemen we a joy to deal with! Its nice to see that excellent customer service can still be found in this business.

I was denied service as a walk-in, but someone before me was granted service as a walk-in. It just seemed wrong for the service clerk to say that there was nothing he could do after granting the same service to the person infront of me.

Jason (assistant manager I believe) really went above and beyond to help me out. I desperately needed a set of tires before traveling from Charleston, SC to NC and he was able to help me get back on the road even though he had a busy schedule and I wasnt on the schedule. Top notch guy and great service.

I love that they are open Saturday and Sunday. Very personable. Truly is free to take a look at your car. Very honest about the work. I feel the prices are a high. I get the corporate rates and overhead, just think the prices for garage needs to come down.

We showed up to purchase tires. None of the tires on their website that showed availability were in stock . Then 3 were in stock but with 3 in stock free installation was not honored. Now if you want the deal on their website drive 30 miles to the Savannah Highway Store or pay the extra $120 for installation and receive no discount on the multiple tire purchase. That discount is only available if you purchase online. The counter person could not even tell me what tires he had in stock because the inventory was bad. Driving on an emergency spare I went to the closest - Tire Choice Auto Service Center - not a block away and received great service. My tire was replaced without drama and he knew his inventory.

The guy treated me as soon as I walked in at 7:35 am. Took the time to explain about tires and the best one. The manager got of the telephone spoke. And honored my coupons for those tires so I could get the better tires. And gave me discount on alignment. Great customer service and very pleasant atmosphere. I will return for all my car service needs. And they thanked me for coming with smile.

Filed two appointments for oil changes and both times was told they didn’t honor their appointments and they couldn’t care less. When I took my car to another service place they informed me pep boys had nearly stripped the bolts on my oil pan and they couldn’t get them off. Had been a loyal customer for over ten years-will never return. Avoid at all costs.

They did great at working with my warranty company. I was able to drop it off and get it back in a reasonable amount of time (the same day). Jason was great! He was straight forward about everything! I love that! Thanks for getting my wheel bearing fixed and having me back on the road so quick!

I brought my Ford Expedition to be serviced , it needed brakes. My vehicle has been sitting for a year, so I needed to jump start it to get it there. Long story short the truck was in anti theft mode , when it was time to move into the repair shop . I was called and advised to see if could be jumped again using my original method . It couldn’t to my dismay. I was told it probably needed to be looked by Ford if they couldn’t get it to move out that mode. The service repair guys pushed my Expedition into the shop by Hand , and took time out to review what was under my hood and determined that my cables needed to be cleaned ,my battery as well and reconnected the adapters . It crunk right up. I appreciate the integrity and honesty of these men , because they could’ve charged for another service I didn’t need and were gracious enough to fix that problem free of charge. The Assistant Manager Jason was so pleasant , a God send and I will definitely recommend them to anyone for honest repairs and great customer service . Great Work and Honesty here

Outstanding experience. I called several places trying to get service for a noise we started hearing on a Sunday before having to leave town Monday morning. No other shop I called would even listen to the description. Pep Boys listened, realized it may be just a 5 min fix to a blocked AC line and squeezed me in. Best experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic. We can now drive safely home without water leaking into our car!

Most experienced service staff that ive ever encountered most all employees in the shop have been there for 2 years and the master mechanics range from 18 to 25 years of service at this location. The tire techs have been around more than two years...so i trust them with anything i may need for service.

They did good on work and price. Alittle bit slow but ok.

I dont recommend at all. My car was towed to them and they left my car outside all night and things were taken out of my car and my console was completely tore up. They never apologized or had any resolution and I will never go to them again.

Today was great. Was served promptly for my oil change, and was done in 30 minutes.

I wrote a note for my handicapped, elderly father and sent him here with a a spare on his SUV. The SUV also had a misfire going on which I knew was a coil over plug going out. The tech, Larry, said that the tire was too old to repair and he needed a whole new set of tires. Including replacing 3 coils and 3 spark plugs, he quoted my father $1900. I told him that he had lost his mind. Karma will get you for trying to take advantage of a 73 year old handicapped veteran. I sent my dad to a competitor, and they took great care of him, put a brand new set of 50k mile tires on it, and replaced all 6 spark plugs and coils for less than $700. Stay away from this place.

I went to get my blown tire replaced. The new assistant manager (from Massachusetts) was very friendly & helpful. His associate Daniel was not annoyed by my constant questions...this was at 6pm, & though they were exhausted, they were professional & helpful. The guys that work the retail side were some of the nicest people. Thanks again, kind sirs!

The West Ashley location is chock-full of misogynistic men. My girlfriend took her vehicle there for a simple oil change and they recommended four other areas that needed to be fixed for a total well over $200. However when I took the same vehicle back to test and see if they would offer the same services, they simply just change the oil. Regardless of if her vehicle needed those fixes I think its extremely shameful that they try to pull that on a woman but dont question a man.

I just moved to Charleston and I have gotten nothing but great service from these guys. They were very helpful when I needed a new battery and they are always very polite. They have good prices and again I have never had bad service from them. They are fast and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone.

The best service Ive ever had at Pep Boys hands down. I had a very challenging situation and Jason stuck it out with me until the problem was solved. Were very thankful for his service. Without his help, we would have been stranded 8 hrs away from home.

Brought my car in for service because a/c wasnt working. Was told I needed over a dozen parts AND a power steering pump totalling $3700. Decided to go for second opinion and only part I needed was a new compressor. Stay far away from them.

This is for the retail store side of the shop. Its currently 9:17am and the doors are still locked tight. If you cant even show up on time to open the store how am I supposed to trust you to recommend parts and service for my car. The service side (oil changes, etc) has been great to work with.Taking my business else where.

I overheard a conversation with another customer at the counter. He had come in to have his tires replaced because the Ford dealership told him he should. They had taken the tires off and noticed that there wasnt a single thing wrong with them. They had plenty of good tread and there was no damage. They waited for the customer to come back and told him there wasnt any reason to replace the tires right now and he should save his money! Honesty goes a long way!

We requested an oil change, tires rotated/check tire pressure, and to check for a major power steering leak. What we got was a basic oil change with an attitude, they never checked the fluid levels of the rest of the engine/transmission. The air pressure on the tires did not get done, until I asked (more than once) to please do so. Then, regarding the major power steering leak we had, all they told us was that it was leaking so much (really??..), that they could not see where the leak was coming from, so there was nothing they could do. Although I stayed the entire time watching them work on the vehicle, not ONCE did they even attempt to clean the lines to see if they could see where the leak was coming from. At that point we knew it was safer for us to simply buy a few more bottles of power steering fluid and fill the dispenser until we could find a proper mechanic to truly fix the problem.While waiting for our vehicle, others were arriving to get quotes or ask for service, but with a negative attitude they were told that they needed to come with an appointment. We also overheard the gentleman handling the front desk ask another employee to handle another customer who was waiting for her vehicle because he had no patience to deal with her. I understand that it was a very hot day, and regardless of day, time, or event, keeping composure and being polite goes a LONG way. Not only will we NOT return to this facility, but we will NOT recommend others to go here at all.If this is an auto repair shop, isnt it their job to properly inspect the vehicle, find out the source of the problem, and offer a quote, or an alternative solution?????

I had the best treatment here. I came in for a new tire and the guy helping me told me I really didn’t need a new tire. It’s rare for people to put customers before selling. I’m a customer for life now!

You can find pretty much any basic thing you need to work on your car, except for customer service. I am always having to hunt someone down just to ask if they have something in stock or to check out. At times, I could literally just walk out with whatever I have and No one would probably notice.

Really good staff, knowing that the customer comes first. Real good people at the store on Savannah Hyw. Any problems please check with Jason by name.Hes really good at everything and the staff also. The store is ran down and old. The equipment is old too. Needs a major overhaul to compete with the surrounding area but the service is outstanding.

Generally dont leave reviews but these guys were amazing. They had my car towed and fixed within a day and were so nice. Definitely will go back to them if I ever have another problem. Highly recommend!!

Have taken my and my husbands vehicle here for a number of years. Generally very good service with reasonable prices. No price gouging like the dealerships.

We were in Charleston for the holiday weekend and ended up with a dead battery and what ended up being a blown main fuse. After running back and forth and talking on the phone several times, we decided to have the car towed in - for only $25 - and they were able to diagnose the issue quickly and put a temporary fix on it to get us home and to the dealership. They didnt charge any dumb fees or try to sell us on any other services. They were extremely helpful and were able to get us back on the road quickly and for cheap. While car trouble is always a huge inconvenience and comes at the worst times, we were still able to enjoy our time in Charleston without having to worry (as much). Happy 4th of July!

I think it is very important to recognize people for there excellence, and that is why I am writing this review. I have an account with Pepboys and love dealing with their commercial girl Sherry. She is very knowledge with parts and makes it a great experience going in to get parts from her. Being a auto tech it is very frustrating when going to buy parts and not having someone know there job or the industry that well. Sherry works very hard to make sure that the customer is getting the right part and is satisfied. I could only wish that all part stores were like this or had a Sherry working for them.

Didnt latch my hood all the way and I made it just past Costco on I-526 and my hood flew up going down the interstate!! I took the truck back where the manager immediately said he was going to make sure that everything was taken care of. The next morning they got me a rental car and I started the claims process to get my truck fixed. After TWO WEEKS of bickering about the issue, PB corporate decided that they were NOT going to cover the cost of the repairs! After another week of arguing with them and getting very upset with the store manager, I finally was able to get them to agree to pay for the repairs AFTER I MENTIONED THAT I WAS STILL DRIVING THE RENTAL THAT THEY WERE PAYING FOR!!!! Finally they sent me a check so I could get the truck fixed (new hood, windshield and front grille along with getting the hood painted). Once I got the check, it took Fender Mender only three days to get the repair done. Because of their ignorance and an incompetent lube tech, something that should have taken less than a week to get taken care of took right around 1 month (or not even happen at all, just latch the hood!!). It cost them substantially more because of the extended amount of time I was in the rental.Yes, they fixed the truck, but it was like pulling my own teeth. All of this because of a stupid oil change that I should have done myself.

Goofy but super helpful group. Were willing to open new wrenches and such to help me find the right one. Helped with a couple small issues. Only cost me the price of a new head for a wrench, despite a lot of help.

Super fast mechanics,finished in an hour. Wifi available during wait and you get a text when your car is ready. Reasonable price for fluids filled and oil change. Employees in the store part are a little unprofessional by cursing in front of customer and complaining about working but overall good experience. Would recommend. Also, steering wheel covers do NOT fit all cars, hold onto your receipt guys.

Very rude lady on the phone! Since you cant hear her, she gets an attitude with you and raises her voice because you cannot hear her. Speak clearer lady! Pretty sure the in store staff is great but the representatives you have answering the phones are damn RUDE!!

I hate to give a bad review but I wandered the Savannah hwy store for a solid ten mins and no one asked to help. Then I go to back counter to ask for an item, the person doesnt even look up from the YouTube video theyre watching, just said no. Thats it, then after I sighed and started walking away, the person (Im not trying to get anyone in trouble) says maybe home depot, I dunno. So, Im gonna take that advice. Thats why I give one star, for referring me to a better store. Thanks.

I have been on hold with PB for almost 15 min and not a single person has answered the phone on 12/5/16. This is Bulls--t. At 10:15 someone answers the phone and says I called the commercial line and they sent me to the service line that just keeps ringing. This place sucks. I am just trying to get a price to have my brakes and rotors changed. I am now hanging up at this point!!!

I didnt even make it in the door. I called them and asked about installing parts and what parts they had. The guy who I talked to was unbelievably rude. Im not saying the customer is always right but some customer service would be nice. I definitely wont be bringing my business there.

I wouldnt ever go to this place. Made arrangements over the phone for service. Got there, no clue whatsoever what I was there for. Had to keep my vechile there overnight. Then, out of the blue the next day, they decide they dont do this kind of work. Wasnt anything complicated. The guy that dealt with last of all there was a really bad attitude. Left me with a bad feeling. They capped an oil leak though so I could get to the next place....turns out they even did that wrong! I went down to Ravenal, found a mechanic who took me right in, went out of his way, and for a great price. Done with Pep Boys, and youd be wise to go where I did also.

We took my wifes car in yesterday for a brake problem. Pep boys took the tires off, and took a look. They called my wife and said she needed new rotors and brake pads that would cost almost $370. So we decided to get a second opinion. After paying Pep Boys $15 dollars to put the tires back on we took the car to Geralds Tires on Savannah Highway. Geralds told us we did NOT need new brake system and the problem is going to be fixed for less than $60. This is frustrating because we have spent thousands of dollars at Pep boys in tires. Wont be back to Pep boys! =(Well, I did go back to Pep Boys for something simple for my tire and they were very accommodating and great so I changed the star rating from 1 to a 4. :)
