I have known Custom Stone and Marble, for over 20 years, and I have nothing but the best experiences with them.They have always went above and beyond, to make there customers happy. What the previous reviewer said makes no sense to me at all, and also makes me wonder what the real story is. It makes me very upset to see false reviews placed on good people. I would be happy to dispute anybody who says otherwise.

We had custom stone do a large job on our home in Raleigh and they were incredible from start to finish. I wanted to give my input because we plan on using them again for our kitchen after the natural stone work and I am guessing that the negative review on this page was because of a single instance of a bad crew member. We have nothing, but positive things to say and have referred them to both friends and family in the Raleigh / Durham area. Great company!

Custom stone is professional, efficient, and they stand behind their work. I have enjoyed working with them for about 5 years and they are my only recommendation for countertops. The whole staff is knowledgable and can help you find exactly what you are looking for.A real example of a building professional, even as a homeowner you will get the same level of service that a designer or contractor would get.The best of the best.

Update 5/14/19: A crew member returned to my home in December and cleaned the grout and sealed it. However, the mold has returned and now it is under the sealer and cannot be cleaned. My contractor has been trying to get them to come back to remove and replace the grout but Ive been waiting for this to be scheduled since February. Original review: My husband and I used CS&M for all of our tile work in our whole house renovation. They were the subcontractor of our general contractor. Their scope of work included shower floor overlay in laundry room floor, guest bathroom, kitchen backsplash, floor tile in hall bath and all tile work (floor, walls and shower floor) of the master bath. There were multiple issues during the project: 1) the manager of the tile work never replied to our architect’s multiple requests for confirmation of square footage of tile needed for the master bath (which we were buying on our own- so we had to make our best estimate and somehow there was only one tile left after installation), 2) the master bath counter top –purchased from CS&M- was cracked upon installation which was later repaired but crack is still visible and no discount/refund extended to us, 3) incorrect cutting of corbels and shelf shape for shelves inside the master bath shower despite our written instructions (only one of the shelves could be fixed once we discovered the error) and 4) grout that is not holding up per our expectations. Item number 4 has been the ongoing issue for us as it has been an immense hassle for them to address the problem and resolve it. Our project was completed over a year ago. About 6 months after installation and regular use of the master shower we noticed black moldy spots forming in the grout. (When picking the grout color we were assured that the grout they use “will hold up to anything” so not to be worried about mildew and mold showing.) After each shower we squeegee the whole shower (including the floor) and leave the shower door open while the exhaust fan runs for 30 minutes. Additionally, we were cleaning the shower with an all-purpose cleaner monthly. The grout should not have become moldy. Additionally, it shouldn’t be so bad that it requires sitting in bleach gel for 10 minutes in order to be scrubbed away. It’s been difficult to get follow-up from anyone. Weeks go by before we hear anything. Last we heard they contacted the manufacturer who agreed there is something defective they need a sample. It has been a month now and we still wait for CS&M to come get a sample. They clearly do not stand behind their work and don’t seem to care about satisfying customers. With all of these issues, we have not received a single apology, an offer to give us some sort of refund on what we paid nor have come up with any other solution. Best to look elsewhere for you stone, marble and tiling needs.

We hired Custom Stone and Marble in November 2014 to provide and install a honed granite counter top in our kitchen. Very briefly, it was one of the worst experiences in home repair or improvement that Ive ever experienced. The counter top template was done incorrectly and the employees (2) who were at my home during this time were unprofessional and even critical of work that had already been completed in the kitchen. The counter top that was installed fit so poorly that it had to be removed entirely. Steve, the owner, was insulting and tried to shift blame. All around legendary rotten customer service. We hired KJ Natural Stone after this and they did a fantastic job. The counter tops look great, and they were a pleasure to work with. What a difference....The former should take a lesson in craftsmanship and outstanding customer service from the latter!
