It’s Friday night! Thankfully the line wasn’t crazy long at this Insomnia Cookie location, and service was quick and friendly! I obtained 6 mouthwatering, warm cookies! 😋 Oh no, I won’t misappreciate these cookies by eating them in the passenger seat of vehicle (my boyfriend’s driving). I am anxious to get home, pour me a glass of milk and dig in! LOLDude- I just got home. Just took another picture of my cookie box. They gave me 7 instead of 6 cookies! An accident? Complementary? I don’t know! I don’t care! I just know I’m going to enjoy another cookie! 🍪OMG.. I just dig’d in. These are probably the best cookies I have ever had! 😍 Soft, warm, delicious and not overly sweet! Perfectly baked!

Customer service is amazing even at 11 with a line out the door do to covid regulations. The cookies were hot and also good. I could do without the waiting in line and delivery even if just down the block seems to be the quickest option available.

Extremely disappointed with Insomnia Cookies here in Chapel Hill. We drove about 30 minutes out to grab a late night treat. However when we got there we were told they we not making anymore cookies. Mind you this is just under 2hrs before close. They said they got back up on catering order so there we not making anymore, I guess for all walk in customer, for the night once the orders were done. There were sheets of cookies behind them, you don’t close for just under 2hrs and you’re not making anymore cookies when that your whole thing? This definitely ruined my taste of this location.

So, as I was out for a bit of exercise today. I had drank all of the water from my reusable container. I stopped in and asked if I could please have a fill-up -only asking for tap water- I was very briskly told NO. Some malarkey about old pipes.... Had planned on getting a cookie or two also. Not very polite or kind. No water, No cookie. The people right next door were happy to help me.

They have eight different types of ice creams🍨 , brownies, chocolate milk, 2% milk, whole milk, nine different traditional cookie flavors, three deluxe cookie flavors and you can make any two cookies an ice cream sandwich. They even deliver them to you. Opened late 🍪 🍪 🍪

Just got cookies here for the first time! I love the chocolate chunk. Delicious! Im only giving 4 stars, however, because I asked to get a chocolate peanut butter cup in a box of six and they wouldnt do it citing a policy that they only do traditional cookies in boxes and no deluxe cookies. :(

Insomnia is a good place to get warm cookies and milk. The quality of their cookies are usually A1! This visit, I decided to get a cookie cake. Please be warned that the cookie cakes are small! Do not order a cookie cake expecting it to be the size of the ones you see at the mall or at the grocery store. Photos can be deceiving and I thought I had the measurements right but what I expected and what I received were two different things. Just a heads up! Other than that, this place is great!

If I wanted cold cookies I would’ve went to the grocery store & bought some.

I love this place... I was first introduced to it while my daughter when UNC on life support. One of the nurses seeing the toll of the days and nights worrying brought my wife some cookies one night and that was all it took.. Those sweet treats somehow always changed the mood. The cookies are always warm and fresh and very taste. Even though I don’t like going to Chapel Hill because of the memories, this place reminds me of the great ones..

George Williams is a delivery driver from insomnia cookies. I just got my cookies delivered to E7. He couldn’t find where my building was and he couldn’t find my actual apartment because our apartment complex here at the villages of Chapel Hill it’s confusing. But it didn’t stop him. My cookies were still fresh, warm and delicious. He is the best. I’ve been getting deliveries from this company for the past few years now including from insomnia cookies to Blue Horn lounge that’s located in Franklin Street a few minutes away from insomnia cookies. This guy is my top favorite delivery person from this company. He has the most ultimate respect, he goes way beyond to get my cookies and other’s cookies delivered to us. George, you’re the best.

They will not accept legal US currency as payment. Went to purchase a box of cookies and only had cash on me, and to my surprise they refused my completely good and legal form of payment.Weird, it is safe for other businesses to conduct daily business via cash transactions but not Insomnia Cookies?!?! Did I miss something, is my cash more dangerous inside of Insomnia Cookies versus say any other business on Franklin St??? Absolutely absurd that they would refuse cash as a form of payment.So we left without cookies 👎

They didnt answer the phone when I called.

I pre-ordered my cookies to be delivered by a certain time to a local hotel in the area. When I went to track the order, the tracker was not working and the delivery driver never got in contact with me or came inside to see if someone was expecting a delivery. When I tried to call about my order I was on hold for 8 minutes for each phone call (I had to call about 7 times) and was hung up on at one point. The phone number on the website redirected me to a call center and the lady tried to have the driver come back out with my order but when I went to check, it said it was already delivered earlier. I called again and this time the store was about to close and the lady on the phone said she would contact the store to ask about my order. The final time I called I just wanted a refund because Ive been playing phone tag for over an hour with this company and still did not have my cookies. She promised to issue a refund and would send me a confirmation email; which I never received. Instead she sent me a coupon for six free cookies with a purchase. Im now short 40 dollars, 24 cookies and patience. Ive always loved this place but I will never order from here again. Im just waiting to see if they will actually refund me or if Im going to have to play phone tag again

The people that work here in afternoons and nights when I go are always super nice and give good tips about ice cream/cookie combinations. I accidentally ordered twice using the online form and they helped me figure it out! I ended up keeping both orders because cookies, but they would have gone above and beyond to help me had I decided otherwise. Ive had some good conversations here :)

Great little cookie & ice cream shop in downtown Chapel Hill. The cookie six pack is definitely the best deal. The cookies are super fresh and warm, with crispy edges and soft chewy centers, yum! Double chocolate chunk is my fav, closely followed by the peanut butter cookie. Ate them with a hot mocha from Carolina Coffee Bar across the street, perfect on a cold winter day!

It hurts to even give this place 1 star. The thing that made my experience terrible was the poor service...the staff was just dingy looking and lacked interpersonal skills. The venue lacked cleanliness. It seemed more like a hangout spot for hobos and that’s not even the worst part!My sister and I were not even properly greeted. The thing that made our skin crawl the most was when the cashier touched our cookies with her bear hands—she had dirty fingernails and a discolored bandaid.... I won’t even mention the plethora of pathogens I was potentially exposed to. When I mentioned my concern, she stated that she had “just washed her hands”, which didn’t sound too promising. She then proceeded to rub her nose and scratch your face as rang up our order. My family and I will NOT be returning!

If I could give more stars I would. Someone hand-wrote the little note that I added in the delivery directions for the person I was delivering a birthday cookie to, and that was just SO nice. Excellent customer service.

Where were these when I was in college? You can’t go wrong snagging one of these for an after dinner treat or a late night snack! Only downside is the lack of space if you’re wanting to enjoy your warm cookie 🍪 right there and then!

If I could give zero stars I would. Dont waste your money or time here. Cookies are mediocre at best, placed an order 11 hours early on Valentines day for a 10 PM delivery. At 10:20 I called customer support and when the lady answered she immediately told me that the store was 2 HOURS BEHIND! She said she would call the store and try to get the cookies out sooner. If Valentines day is a busy day for a business, the business should be prepared. Poor Customer service, I will never spend another cent here.

Me and my boyfriend went here for the first time day and as soon as we walked in the manger said “Welcome to our little piece of heaven!” And man was he right!! This place was amazing! Soooo many options, highly suggest the cookie ice cream sandwiches!!

I order from insomnia too much. They’re just so convenient, especially since they deliver straight to my house. They’re currently doing special, larger cookies. Get the s’mores. It’s unreal. I would also suggest getting the cookie ice cream sandwich. They deliver ice cream and it doesn’t melt on the drive!

My order was an hour late and when I called headquarters to make sure everything was still on track, the customer service lady was extremely rude to me. Had she been polite and given me an ETA on my order, I wouldve been satisfied with my experience. Overall, I was very displeased with my service and tbh this experience was so bad I might not use Insomnia again.

Took the kids here because we heard the story of them at Harvard. Very fun selection of decadent cookie choices that were all yummy. I wouldnt recommend if you are dieting but might be worth the extra mile or two to walk it off.

This place had a variety of cookies. But the only thing you taste is sugar and no flavor of any of the cookie I brought. They gave me a few free cookies. I thought that was nice and gave her an extra tip. After we are the they werent that good. And my daughter got sick off if he the one she gave to us. I didnt eate them but my daughter did and got sick. I will not get cookies from them anymore.

The cookies here were fantastic. They are HUGE and just the perfect semi-soft texture. They stayed soft in a zip lock bag for about a week.

The cookies are GREAT! They are always moist and chewy and they stay open late.

The cookies were yummy. I would come here again for that yumminess. The ice cream not so much, my son wanted ice cream instead of a cookie...a small there ($3.90) is apparently 2 tablespoons of ice cream. So I would reccomend the cookies but go some where else for a less anemic serving of ice cream. I told them they should visit other places to learn how to scoop ice cream. He was really having a hard time scooping it so maybe it is just that they really dont know how?

The cookies are fantastic but the service is TERRIBLE. I ordered six cookies in January and they left 2 cookies out of my order. I called the company and received a coupon. WHICH DIDNT WORK. After two different 20 minute phone calls to corporate, they finally gave me my free cookies. 5 stars for cookies, 1 star for service.

Insomnia Cookies is a great idea but very poorly executed. I waited with friends for 15 minutes to get cookies (not a huge deal in itself) with very little communication from the staff. When I finally was able to order I was charged for the previous customers bill which was double mine. Because of the incompetence of the staff they were unable to give me a refund. I accepted an extra brownie that I didnt want instead of waiting for another 10 minutes while they figured out how to work their own computer.

Hey, the cookies are actually pretty good. Ice cream was solid too! Better than I thought it would be!

Their cookies are good, but overpriced. Also, they dont have a direct phone line to the store so if theres an issue with your order (as there was with mine) you have to call, be on hold for 10+ minutes, then talk to someone at a satellite customer service center who then talks to the store for you. All in all, totally not worth it and a frustrating experience.

The delivery area is ridiculous. They will come down hwy 54 but wont deliver to an apartment complex off 54. Im in Berkshire apts. And its stupid that if lived accross 54 (Berkshire apartments just on other side) they will deliver there but not to my side. Thats just really dumb. I was lookin forward to ordering.

Their service is absolutely horrible. I ordered cookies at 8:30 PM, and they never came. I called their number a total of four times to ask about the status of the cookies. Finally, at 11 PM I got a refund. Do not buy cookies from the Chapel Hill location unless you want to be disappointed. I love Insomnia Cookies, but this particular franchise is unacceptable.

Placed a special order to be delivered to our student inbetween classes for Valentines Day...at the specified delivery time the cookie tracker said baking! Our student is pressed for time...and when I called to inquire was ON HOLD for OVER 20 MINUTES! I ended up hanging up. First and LAST TIME for Insomnia Cookies! ...seems like they bank on business by desperate college kiddos. Spread the word, and spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!!!

Bad customer service. I made a order at 8:43 and the delivery driver showed up at 9:45. I touched the cookies and told her she could take them back because they were cold and she said “ for what? The order is right you already paid for them and we are really busy tonight” with a attitude and a lot of hand gestures I received a call from the store from who I believe was the manager 5-6 minutes later saying the driver told her a while different story and that I sent the order back because I’ve had issues with the driver before which was not the case. The last time the same driver brought cookies to my home they were cold as well and she told me to heat them up in the microwave and that she was not taking them back. The manager asked me did I want her to send the cookies back with the same driver or someone else and had a attitude as well when I told her I no longer wanted the cookies tonight and wanted to be refunded. She said ok have a good day and hung up. This is the second incident I’ve had with insomnia cookies and I will no longer be ordering from there again.

The cookies are so delicious and theres an awesome variety. Its just a little expensive.
