Great little place! We had the bagels and they had a great texture and very fresh. Also tried a bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit it was amazing! So much bacon and this biscuit was huge!

Great bagels. Probably the best in Chapel Hill and Durham. The reason I’m knocking them down a couple of stars is that I’ve visited about 4 times in the past 6 weeks and they have made a mistake on my order every single time. These are simple orders, like 3 plain bagels, one with cream cheese (I got only 1 bagel). Clearly, they are having trouble finding good staff. They are always pleasant, but just check your order before you leave.

Ive always wanted a restaurant where you can trust that the food will be great, the service solid and quick, and the prices reasonable. So when Deli Edison opened near my work, I had to try it out. Lucky for me, it checked all the boxes! I love that they are always sharing new recipes and creating items I have to come back to try again and again. Highly recommend!

I dont know about 2 or 3 but I know Deli Edison is the one! 😍 This is the place Ive been looking for around here. I ordered the lox-smythe (pictured) and a dozen assorted bagels. And let me tell you, BEST.LOX. IVE. HAD. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, generous with the capers and even more generous with the salmon. Yes, GENEROUS, with salmon. The cream cheese was velvety and the bagel was flavorful (I got the everything bagel). My hunger led me to steal a quick bite in the parking lot. Needless to say I finished it in record time and am still sitting here giving my testimony. Beyond the great experience with the food, the staff! The young man up front today was a gem of a human. This is a family style joint and they really bring the NY vibe home in a unique and, for me, fulfilling way. Not to mention they have meal kits, local beer, and more all in a very covid-19 safe setup (grab and go). Time to give up the ghost on these chains and fast food spots kids. Get into Deli Edison, and enjoy real food while supporting local business.

We attended the preview this morning for the bagel buffet. The bagel assortment was delicious as well as all of the fixings. We also sampled lemon scones, apple muffins and ginger cookies all which were delicious. Expectations are low for a soft opening and we were very pleasantly surprised. Pricing seems on par to low side for the high quality far and they are serving carrboro coffee roasters coffee. Once open this will definitely make it into our brunch/lunch rotation.

Had to wait almost 40 mins for my food. Didn’t go back for a year and then tried again today. Ordered online and my order got “lost”. 55 minute wait this time. The food’s okay albeit expensive but I won’t be heading back. It’s really too bad because I want to like this place. Just way too disorganized.

Best Turkey BLT of my life! Will certainly be going back.Advice to management; your lunch menus have many items that I wasnt able to get because they are only available after 2pm and was confusing trying to determine what was available and what was not. Suggest having different menus or something else to differentiate whats available for lunch vs dinner.

Ordered a Chicken parm hero. They put lettuce, tomato, onion, and some sort of oily dressing on it. I didn’t ask for that, and their menu says nothing about those toppings. Why? $13 sandwich ruined. Other sandwich we ordered didn’t have the cheese we requested. Not going back.

Having driven past this place multiple times I was very pleasantly surprised. They have amazing fresh bagels, local fare, and a mix of various smoked meats for sandwiches. We had breakfast and the breakfast sausage, egg, and provolone cheese was delicious. We also tried their fresh cream cheese with smoked salmon mixed in, like a lox cream cheese. Everything was great, fast, and a lovely courtyard to wait in to keep with social distancing. Will definitely return.

I feel conflicted leaving this review so Im going to preface it with a couple of facts first. Deli Edison had not been open for very long when I visited the place and for anyone that has never opened a restaurant before it is not a simple thing. I recognize this fact due to my time working in restaurants. They were also slammed the day we went.I thought the food was good. Not great, but it had real promise. Ive been to the Pig and I know what Sam and Co. can do. It took forever to order. The person working the register seemed fairly stressed and maybe that is why they were so cold and not welcoming. It took a long time to get food as well. Folks that ordered after us were not only getting food, but also apologies. We did not receive the same sort of treatment.I had the Nonna which was tasty, but despite having salsa and pickled veg couldnt cut thought the amount of fat that the sandwich contained. It was literally swimming in fat. Maybe that is intentional, but I dont think it was. I also ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese to take home. When I ate it later that day I found a huge piece of plastic wrap in the cream cheese. It was just a really disappointing experience. That being said, it was so busy I didnt want to engage the folks working to talk about my experience. But I didnt want to go to the internet and complain about it either so I called the shop. They were closed so I left a message and my phone number. That was January 12th. I still havent heard back from them so Im not sure if they got it or if they took any of the feedback I provided.I want this place to succeed. I hope this review comes across that way. I will visit again and update this review. I hope the owners see this and see it as an opportunity because the lack of engagement in these reviewing platforms has always driven me crazy.

Went in yesterday for 2 sandwiches and a drink and paid my total. Today I get an update from my credit card company that the Amount i paid was adjusted to add a 20% tip which I did not add as I had left a cash tip. Make sure to get your receipts people as it appears they will add tips themselves without your knowledge

As a New Yorker who loved Bagel Bar when it was here I was excited to try this new bagel place, and it unfortunately came short of filling that hole. The service felt kind of all over the place with a “take a ticket system” that felt useless because people were pulling them after they ordered. The wait also took a long time with several “to go” orders going out ahead of us, so I guess you need to call ahead. The bagels and cream cheese were okay but not really worth standing around in masks in a hot space. Will probably give it another shot in the future because I appreciate what they’re trying to do.

I already knew that I loved the bagels here at Deli Edison, since Ive previously ordered the plain bagel. But today, I decided to order an Everything bagel for the first time. I enjoyed my normal ritual of relishing each bite of crunchy seeds baked perfectly into the top half of the bagel. You see, at other bagel places, when you order an Everything bagel, only the top half is seeded. So, you can imagine my pleasured surprise when I picked up the bottom half of my Deli Edison Everything bagel and found it to be equally--and just as heftily--seeded as the top half. For me, this is a bagel game changer. This thoughtful decision makes it clear that Deli Edison is not cutting corners, and intends to provide you with the same quality your bagel-baking grandma would offer you at home.Photo: sorry...this time I couldnt restrain myself long enough to stop crunching to take a pic. Youll have to go to Deli Edison to see it for yourself! 😁🥯❤️☺️

This is the first review I’ve ever left. This place was so good. I shared a tuna melt and a plain bagel with cream cheese with my sister and we were both very happy. As an NY native living in NC, this was just about as close to the real deal as I could get. 10/10 would come back

First of all Im a cook. They took 40 minutes to make two bagels and it wasnteven that busy. Forgot a cold brew coffee. The egg and cheese was solidified by the time it got to me. I dont know what is going on in the back but there is something seriously wrong with the communication between the cooks and the FOH or they have to use hand warmers to cook.

Deli Edison is a thousand times better than The Bagel Bar that used to be here. The space is newly renovated and CLEAN!!! I stopped going to the bagel bar because of how dirty it was. I’ve been here twice and both times I ordered egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The toasted bagel was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Exactly how it should be. My egg was perfectly cooked and not over fried. The staff is friendly and I didn’t have to wait 20 min to stand in line, order, and get my food like you have to do with Bruggers and the old bagel bar.

We got everything bagels one with veggie cream cheese one with egg and bacon. The bagels were good (they do have anise seeds on them... not my favorite but good anyway). Coffee was good as well. The place is clean and cute. My only complaint is that we got the bagels to go and they wrapped them in paper and cut the bagels AFTER wrapping them. This caused cream cheese to be everywhere and an egg to fall out and paper shreads in the bagel.

I go to NYC regularly and felt that the Bagel Bar -- the place that was here before -- came as close as anyone in the area to match NY-style bagels. So I tried Deli Edison the first Tuesday after they opened and was disappointed. They seemed dry and kind of bland - crispy outside but the inside was not soft and chewy. When I need to toast fresh bagels its not a good sign. Anyway, Ill try in another few months and revise this review if they get better.
