Lori and her staff are very kind and ready to help. There are sewing classes and machines to buy; long arm quilting machines and beautiful fabric. So glad I stopped by!

Recently started quilting and this little gem of a shop is filled with helpful ladies, yards (lol) of fabric, and inspiration around every corner.I love supporting local businesses as well as not having to travel miles and miles to find what I need for a project. The shop is kept tidy, they have lots of machines to fiddle on, to make things even better they have a giant room where like-minded woman can come and sew together.35th Avenue really makes you feel the community as soon as you walk in. Their fabric selection is wonderful, as well as ever changing, and the staff are always available for advice or to help you find something, even if that something is just inspiration.

A few weeks ago,. I needed a sew. machine part, had to order it from main store, took few days to arrive, but - too big😐ok. 1st/ chndlr staff rude, seems they pay big attention to customers they know!? ignore new customers. 2nd/ after waiting some time, long form of my info. Needed to order a $5 part!!? Name, address, pH. email. 3rd/ I paid cash. Got it, , too large, went back, receipts. Etc .I I got looks, what?? Too large? 4th/ staff wanted a credit card to place $5 back on card??!! What? I paid cash!! Well a Lori (I believe). Had to give permission ?! She was outside. 5th/ so Lori. Sauntered in, gave permission. Staff unsure how to give cash refund? Lori had to assist again!! I cant imagine if this had been $500. Or ..... Staff rude,. Good at ignoring u. If new customer! Even a hello, b with u shortly simple. NO. ! Sorry for delay! NO ! One staff took a woman in front of me.,who walked up to counter after me !! I was there 1st!!! (People, dog the Goodwill next to them,. They are wonderful compared to this 35th ave store). B a long time b4 I go in there again!!! Just say NO!

When you search this location the website said they carry vacuums, however when you get there they dont. They do have them at the north Phoenix store, which they can have transfered to this store in 5 days. Five days to transfer across town? WalMart has it for $40 less and delivered in 4 day. Very misleading!

They are always friendly and eager to help upon arrival. With the help of a very knowledgeable lady, Lori, I was able to purchase a new machine that I love during the Pandemic. Later, Lori helped me buy the perfect Koala sewing studio for my machine that fit my needs.Their fabric is top notch and unique and I love shopping in this store.

Early in the pandemic, I found my Singer machine clearly needed service. They had a great contactless drop-off process, told me it would take 30 days, and it took 30 days. When I picked it up, I found they had a lovely collection of unique fabrics in small bundles, great for more mask-making. I was delighted they were open when other places were closed, and delivered what I needed, reasonable price, and on time.

Ive to that store once and never again gone back. Very rude. Soo many positive about the store which is the main reason I went but sadly. I went to only ask about the sewing machines and asked if they had an accessory and buy some cotton fabric but with one rude look and how one lady raised her voice at me. Sorry never going back again. My suggestion to the store manager. Please put a sign on the door of your store for the customers to read before entering. Please if you have questions or you are a customer with accents dont come in Or one that says Employees in a bad mood please dont bother I feel for the store and I support small business but the customer service is one of the very very worst. I hope this is read and maybe someone can reply and see if there is some improvement. I wish them luck

This is a very good quilting shop. God classes, great selection of fabrics, friendly and helpful employees. I got a really good deal on my new sewing machine. Very happy with this shop.

Rachelle gave me the best customer service experience and advice I have ever recieved! She knew every answer to all my questions and provided more insight that helped me decide on a machine that works best for my needs. She went above and beyond and took the time to make me feel comfortable and demonstrated how to use each device and had me try it out as well. Well worth the drive for this location when I have one closer to home and excited to go back.

I ordered a sewing table from them as they didnt have one on the floor that worked for me. By no fault of theirs, it took a very long time to come in, but the store was great and checked on things for me along the way . After delivery, John was very responsive to come out and fine tune a couple fo things that werent set up correctly by the delivery team. I so appreciate that and his help over the phone to help me get the top shelves set up correctly.

We were having trouble with a sewing machine and one of their knowledgeable employees took about an hour to go over a few things and offered classes to help. Outstanding customer service!!

They have a great selection of fabrics and are always so willing to make special cuts for me. Ive used the machine shop twice for my sewing machine tune-ups, they do great work and the turn-around was exactly what they told me it would be.

I have been dealing with 35th for about 6 years. very nice place to do business. they are very helpful. I have taken many classes there and all teachers are very nice. management is excellent.

I love working with Lori the store manager. She is honest, knowledgeable and hard working. I have purchased 3 machines from her Chandler store and I drive 1.5 hours to do so. Great store and manager.

As a seamstress it’s very exciting to find new fabric & sewing accessory options. Needless to say I was geeked when I happened upon this place.Upon entering, my husband and I were not greeted. Two women stood behind the counter. I made eye contact with one of them, smiled and said hello and she remained silent. I thought she may have been hard of hearing so I let it go.I noticed another associate assisting a woman to a back area that I later discovered offered sewing classes. She helped the woman carry her supplies to the back while the other two women just stood close to the cash wrap area. As other potential customers entered the store, I heard both women greeting them with “Hello” or “Welcome”, but only those that were heading toward the class area. I guessed they only greet regular customers that they recognize. Idk...The store has multiple fabrics to choose from and are arranged by type, print, etc. and in most sections has a pre-made example of an item made out of the fabric within that specific section. They sell sewing tools, threads and machines. Overall, I was happily impressed with the supply options.My 1 star review reflects this. The options were the only good thing I experienced.After browsing for about 20 minutes, I approached the women at the cash wrap area to ask a question about bulk purchases. Both women turned to each other, one shrugged and said she didn’t know and the person that could answer was not there at the time. I asked when said individual would be in so that I could call to ask later on. She said that she would take my number and have the person call me. I gave her my information and then continued browsing patterns.After another 10 minutes, my husband and I headed out. I thanked the women as I passed and still nothing. No ‘Thanks for stopping by’ or ‘See ya next time’ or anything.I have not received a call regarding my question either.Note to Management: Hire friendlier staff that are open and eager to provide quality customer service to ALL individuals that cross the store’s threshold. Consider those that actually enjoy interacting with humans.

Beautiful store. We are new to the hobby so we were grateful for the experienced and patient staff. Especially during this time when this industry is seeing more demand and an experienced voice is more valuable than ever. Trish and Lori were a big help. We will be back soon!

I went in for vacuum repair which they could not do. They have supplies but not the supplies I needed, however, they had scores of fabric and even had a cloth book I had been looking all over for. Great fabric store, especially if your are a quilter

My old Singer is clean and humming again! It has features no longer offered on new machines at any price so I’m delighted to be able to continue to use it. Service was completed within the promised timeframe, at estimated price, and I was notified when to pick it up. Within the store, distancing precautions are in place.

They are by far, in my efforts to find a machine for mothers day for my wife the most exceptional team and affordably priced location in the east valley. Found a machine, helped with all my questions, didnt sell but had informed info to help be make a decision. I dont even sew or have had any interest to start but after visiting these wonderful staff members I just might have join a class!

Rude staff! I went in to browse some fabrics and it was obvious the ladies working do not care about customer service. I didnt realize it was near closing and they made some passive aggressive remarks.As one customer was checking out she made a remark, I dont normally take cash this close to closing. She offered a card and the cashier made it known it was inconveniencing her. Another lady came in and she makes a low handed remark to her as well. Then when she asked a question about a type of fabric the cashier audibly scoffed and did, No! We dont carry that. Only cotton. You wont find what you need here!So rude and unprofessional! How hard is it to say, Thanks for coming in, Im sorry but we close soon, if you arent able to find what you need in time we open at 8. I can help you if you know what you are looking for. At this point I left my hiding spot, afraid to ask a question. I need to buy about 10 yards of fabric for my next project, but Ill take my money somewhere it is appreciated.

Had a real problem with a serger, 35th Ave Sew and Vac. did the repair and did it in record time, it has been four months since the fix, the machine is still running like a top. Very reasonable pricing also.

Very nice selection, tho pricey. Customer service not so great. One staff member alone was helpful, knowledgable honest, and friendly. Most of the rest came across as people who were interrupted by inconvenient customers, didnt know or provide accurate information, and were unwilling to find out the correct answers to the questions asked. I dont know should always be followed by, I will check.

I worked with Lori initially to buy a replacement embroider sewing machine. She was and is GREAT and very friendly, very helpful, just pure genuine. Great experience ordering my Sew Steady platform. Tried to get it thru Amazon and what a mess. It was a breeze just ordering it over the phone with Lori! Thank you for the great customer service!

Staff was rude. I kept being interuppted while trying to ask a question. I wanted to order a small part for my machine, told the lady I would have the model in a moment and she kept interrupting me as I was trying to tell her what model I have. So I left without ordering.

A phone call about an whether a Bernina accessory was in stock and available to me for the sale price was returned.

Many classes are at the Northern location, some classes at the Chandler location. Be helpful to have more classes at Chandler location. Instructors are good generally.Lots of good quality quilting fabric, priced generally $11 to $15 a yard. Also loads of interesting notions, threads, all you need for quilting..

ABSOLUTELY LOVE BARRY! He is so amazingly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable! I purchased a preowned machine from a thrift store and he helped me find the missing pieces I needed for it! Also, my mother was in a few days ago with Judy and she was very helpful. I honestly dont know of any store that goes so above and beyond to offer such a great and welcoming customer service experience. I highly highly recommend this store!

I love going to the Chandler location. Everyone there is nice and helpful. I really enjoy the Sunday sewing with friends. We always have a good time there.

Ive visited all 3 of the 35th Ave Sew and Vac stores. The staff is very helpful, the fabrics so lovely its hard not to touch them and there is always some thing fun going on. Love shopping there.

There are so many friendly, helpful and courteous people that work at 35th Ave sew and vac. The feeling is always kind of exciting to see what is new in the store New and different items always to purchase with someone always ready to assist you.

Was having some problems with my machine so I brought it in to them. The lady at the register told me to buy their vacuum attachments, that it would help. So I figured I would try it out. It totally didnt work. Plus the smell of gross plastic was totally toxic and made my whole house REEK. I kept it in the garage, in the original box until I could get back to return it. The person in charge refused the return because the tape closing the box was cut. He said he could not possibly sell it as new because of a little piece of tape. These little issues are the kind of thing that show what kind of a business it is, and how they think of their customers. Needless to say I will NEVER BE BACK. The attachments are in the trash now, what a waste of time and money.

I was so very pleased with the willingness to help me at 35th Ave in Chandler. I found the staff to be very patient with my questions and offered several suggestions when purchasing my BabyLock. I appreciated their time and wealth of knowledge.

Great service! Went in to drop sewing machine off for service. No appointment needed. 2-3 weeks to get machine back as they send it out. Received great assistance and information for additional items I needed. Plenty of parking. No w/c ramp to enter store but manageable with assistance; however store is crowded so it would be challenging to maneuver a w/c around. Fabric is pricey but quality. Will purchase there again for those special gift projects.

The Northern location has everything you could want for sewing needs. I bought a Babylock serger through this store and the bumper to bumper warrantee has made me a staunch customer. There is no where in the valley that has as many thread options or general sewing options as this store. The Chandler store is convenient for classes and a good second option in the East valley.

The fabric choice is terrific. The staff never asked if i needed help. They were not interested in my purchases. Assistance for color scheme was none existed.

Customer service is poor when trying to return defective fabric. Some time ago, I purchased 15 yards of fabric. It frays terribly. They did not even want to look at - said it was too long since I had purchased it. No matter how long ago, if the fabric is defective, it should not make any difference. I purchased nearly $300 worth of fabric on that day and they were not accommodating at all. Theyve lost me as a customer.

Serviced my machine with no issues. Without asking, 2 items on it were replaced under warranty.
