Brought my vehicle to this location on a Saturday morning at approximately 10 A.M. and had requested to have the rear drums serviced. I had been having issues with some squeaking and vibration with the drums and shoes I had replaced about four months prior.Upon completing the complimentary and comprehensive vehicle inspection I was alerted that not only did my brakes require service, but my motor mounts AND my radiator were bad. I declined the service to both, but figured my cooling system could use a flush anyway. I asked them to perform the flush (not a drain and fill) and figured while it was on the lift, an oil change would be very convenient ($21.99 is a steal, especially if I dont have to do it myself, right?).The manager was very solid in communicating the progress of the brakes and said they deduced that a simple adjustment is all that would be required. This was good news as $29 is significantly less expensive than $139 I was estimated (I figured worst case, I got bad shoes from the auto parts place, and would return them for credit later to offset the cost).I eventually got the call fifteen minutes prior to closing (I guess they remembered they had my vehicle) and I made arrangements to pick it up. I paid my invoice with some issues at the register ( I wanted to pay in cash what I had saved in a cash maintenance fund and balance it on the debit card, but was asked to pay in all cash because the clerk entered my payment incorrectly at the register. This meant I had to walk to the bank and back.)It was late by this point and still had errands to run so I failed to inspect the vehicle when I accepted it. I made a stop at another store and immediately noticed that the rear brakes were still squeaking. I inspected the vehicle when I arrived home and discovered that despite being charged for: oil and filter change, thermostat replacement, coolant flush, radiator cap replacement, and a brake service, I had only received a coolant flush and a radiator cap.My suspicion was confirmed that the maintenance had not been performed when I discovered my existing oil filter still installed on the vehicle and the oil a rich dark hue. My thermostat housing had not even been touched since I cleaned the engine compartment in October. I removed the rear drums and found them completely covered in brake dust (charged for CLEAN and adjust). The tech broke my hubcap as well.I immediately called the store and was told to come back the following morning to get it resolved. When I arrived Sunday, the assistant manager was unable to help me because he didnt have the capability of performing returns on the register (according to him) and was told I would have to come back Monday. Being a work day, my wife had to go in my stead. When she arrived Monday she was told, yet again, that the store manager was off until Tuesday.Come Tuesday we finally meet up after work and go over the car with the tech and the manager. Despite my evidence to the contrary, they still argued that the thermostat had been replaced. When they looked the part up on the computer we discovered that none of their stock thermostats resembled the one from my vehicle. Confirmed yet again when the part arrived (numbers matched the previously ordered part, theoretically, we should be holding two identical parts if it had been changed). The manager offered a refund at this point and the tech put my thermostat back in and topped off the cooling system.Credit to store manager as she handled the situation as best she could. She insisted on having the facts and made her decisions off of those. Poor workmanship from the tech and fraudulent charges for services not rendered.Inspect any work you have performed here personally.All pictures were taken the following morning:

I went to Pep Boys for an oil change and headlight repair. Their technician Matthew changed my lightbulb but when I got home I noticed it wasn’t working right again (or still?)I went back & the assistant manager Wyatt told me he was the only one there & I’d have to come back. On 9/20 I returned again & Matthew was the only one there. He looked at my light again and tried to fidget with it but told me he couldn’t get it to fit right. He actually burned his hand & said he could smell something burning like it was melting, but said just only use the brights or don’t use the lights at all. 🤔🙄 I kept asking him what do I do? And his response was “honestly, I don’t even know.”I was supposed to leave for CA In the morning for my nephews wedding and planned on making the rest of my long weekend my first ever solo vacation on the beaches of San Diego.Unfortunately my car CAUGHT ON FIRE 🔥 in the Ross parking lot 2 hrs later... before I could take it to someone more knowledgeable in the morning.It’s totaled.I called and spoke to the manager David who remembered me but he told me he would have to get a hold of his regional manager and promised to call back by 5 PM. I never heard from him again. Wyatt refused to provide the insurance information to my insurance adjuster. Pep Boys corporate has not responded at all!I called Pep Boys corporate again today - NOW THREE WEEKS LATER - because I didn’t hear back from Directors of Customer Exerience Kim Brown within the 24 to 48 hours as they told me I would. As of 2p today they now tell me it’s been escalated to VP Ron Gooch’s office....Every time I call they tell me it’s been escalated to somebody different yet nobody can actually reach out and acknowledge that my life was put in danger and I no longer have a car thanks to their technician.In the meantime I’m sitting here stressing out wondering how the F I’m going to finance a car all of a sudden. It certainly wasn’t something I was expecting to do right now!A sudden & total loss of your car like this isn’t just about the car... it’s about feeling helpless and having your sense of security shaken up! Top it off with being ignored, investigated, and having to fight with insurance adjusters, business executives, loan officers, and car dealerships.I may not have a lot of money to hire a fancy attorney but I hope this helps every one of my friends and others reading to make an informed decision based on Pep Boys professionalism and mechanical experience of their technicians.

Came in to have tires rotated, and brakes changed I brought in my own breaks. They pushed rotors on me which I turned down and then they didnt want to deal with me. They turned me down and denied me service... never coming back.

I visited a few months ago for a warranty issue. Was pleasantly surprised to see new management under Fidel. I had a really bad experience with the previous management and Fidel was a pleasant relief. Fidel was very knowledgeable. He did a free inspection of my vehicle and provided excellent diagnostics and provided multiple options on how to address the issue. I will be visiting again to get these issues addressed.

Tried to book an appointment online for this location, after completing all the information the site asked for and clicking confirm appointment, the site told me it was experiencing technical difficulties and I needed to call to make an appointment. I called and spoke to a gentleman that informed me he was NOT a technician when I asked for his opinion on which oil change would be best for me car. I didnt mind that he wasnt able to help answer that for me, but what does bother me is when I went in for my scheduled appointment the next day, the manager of the shop told me a Technician was the one I spoke to when I made the appointment and that the technician was the one who wrote down that i was dropping off my car when i specifically told the gentleman (who was NOT a technician and didnt even work in that location) who I made the appointment with the day before to note the schedule that i would be STAYING for the appointment and waiting. When I got to my appointment the manager informed me that he only had 1 technician on right now and he just let him take his lunch break. He didnt even try and offer to do the work himself since I was there already and there was clearly a error. He also didnt even attempt to work my car in around other peoples appointment to try and make up for the error. He was not helpful at all. I will never attempt to go to any pep boys ever again. I went .5 miles down the street to a break Masters, walked right in and they were able to get me in right away and were extremely nice while they helped me.

Why do something today when you can do it tomorrow actual quote from an employee after eating for about an hour and then leaving. This was said in front of me and the manager. And the manager thought this was acceptable for some reason. I decided not to let them work on my truck.On another note. As I am writing this, Fidel the manager is literally in the process of trying to turn a customer away who made an appointment online.... for a battery installation.Confidence could not be lower in this establishment.

They were great. I had stopped in with out an appointment and sensing my urgency, I had no brake lights, Fidel assured me that could look at it in an hour to diagnose the issue. It was more than a fuse or bulb, but Fidel got the part and told me itd be done by 6. It was done at 5:30! Fidel and his mechanic were both personable and professional! I will return! Hopefully, not soon😁!

Wyatt was an amazing help to us. We were stranded and needed new tires and work done on our vehicle and he made it an amazing experience. He made sure we had everything we needed for the rest of our trip and gave us the best price he could. This location was a blessing to me and my wife. Wyatt ran down and personally picked up the tire size we needed, the waiting area was nice and clean and they let us charge our phones while we waited. Amazing service and value. Thank you

All I can say right now is this; we conducted an investigation into this particular location in which we brought 3 different cars in on 3 different days for oil changes. On all 3 vehicles, the tire pressure was never checked. 2 vehicles were put in with low fluids and the sheet was marked as they were fine. One vehicle was in for a semi synthetic oil change and received regular 5w30 oil. The list goes on folks. Full story and report will air locally later this month. I will update on here when we have the air date for the consumer report segment.

I would recommend Pep Boys to everyone. Recently went to the 1266 Chandler location. My ac went out on my way home from Mesa. Eric didnt have a tech available that late at night but he fixed the problem. He didnt have too, but he called around and eventually got me an appointment near my work. Thank you Eric for going the extra mile!

Very good visit. They were abke to check everything and was informed by the manager that previous oil change that I got done at Break Master that they retread the oil gasket and they didnt inform me about it. & manager at Pep Boys was very nice to tell me about that and get that reported to them. Pep Boys informed me about all that needs to be done to my truck and they were honest & very polite. Definitely would rate this place more that 5 stars and would recommend them.

Worst location ever! Couple months ago the mechanic strewed up my vehicle and I went in for a simple oil change. The store manager was nice she gave me a free oil change voucher for the next visit. Today I went it in to get a oil change and I was informed that they were unable to do a oil change because they don’t want have oil until the end of next week.

Im always concerned about going to auto repair shops as a female who knows NOTHING about cars. Took my car in for a walk-in appointment for a knocking sound in my engine on a Sunday, they got me in and checked it out for free, the noise had stopped but I still wanted it checked out to be safe, they told me it was in really good shape and everything was running fine, and the noise was probably from condensation in the AC. They explained everything and best of all didnt charge me anything at all!

Sandy was the girl that helped me. No complaints there. My problem was with three guys standing around letting myself and another customer wait to be checked out. Sandy was on the phone helping another customer. So I walked up to a man in a white long sleeved shirt, he looked like a manager. I said, Can I check out with you? He said no, and pointed at Sandy, while he was standing at a register with another employee who looked like he had been working on a car, took a seat next to him and another employee behind him stood against the wall . So she can help on the phone and ring people up while the other three make the same amount of money if not more, and still get paid. Smdh. Not coming back here.

Made an appointment for 8 am when they open, 3 days prior and spoke to manager to confirm what I needed done with make model and year. Showed up 7:50 and was the first one taken back. Around 1030 when I went to ask how much longer they told me they didnt have the parts they needed and it would be $70 more than they quoted and wouldnt be able to do it till the next day. By the time they gave me the keys back it was 11. I was there 3 hours and had nothing to show for it. I dont usually post reviews but since had to go somewhere else to get the job done, I had some free time.

My appointment for an oil change was at 1p.m. I arrived two minutes earlier. As Im clearing out the car, one of the staff comes out and unwelcomingly asks, May I help you? and continued to be rude as I checked in. After we butt heads some more, he later made a quasi apology/excuse for his rudeness. The car was still parked where I left it at 1:45p.m. I asked one of the staff what was going on, how much longer it will be. I was given a vague, flippant answer to the effect of I dont know, I havent taken it back yet in an annoyed tone as if Im bothering him.Another rep finally has me sign to authorize the service a few minutes later. The car doesnt get taken to the back until 2:00p.m. It sits there and doesnt get lifted for a simple oil change until 2:30p.m. I get the keys back at 2:45p.m. When I called and set the appointment the day before, I was told they could have it done within an hour. The appointment might as well have been set around 2p.m. An hour and a half of my time was wasted: 30 minutes I spent driving to the shop, and 1 hour waiting at the shop while nothing was being done. I am unlikely to return.Also, it was too warm to sit in there with the chairs made of pleather. The one fan in the shop was focused behind the counter and not even oscillating.

Went to this location to get struts installed and ended up with ABS light on. This was Friday and the manager said to come back on Monday when they had a good scanner to read the issue. Monday they had no such scanner and still didnt by Wednesday so they scanned it at the shop next door. The manager then tells me they need it for the whole next day to figure it out for sure.I get no call Thursday so I call a little before they close to be told it was barely looked at but they know its an abs sensor ( well obviously). They tell me the part will be there Friday morning and that they need it over night again. The service manager calls me friday afternoon to tell me that the part will now not arrive until Saturday morning(WTH).Finally Saturday morning comes and they say the part is in but now my battery is bad. It was only a year old so I dont see how. They pushed me to get the battery so they could test the new sensor and now Im spending another $130 on something else I shouldnt need. So freaking frustrating! They did not clean up my power steering pump to check it out give me any quotes I had asked for. At this point tho I was almost glad. Just wanted to leave and never come back! Please learn from the experience of others and save yourself the stress!

Beware, this is not a real Pep Boys. I came here for a warranty but they told me they dont honor Pep Boy warranties. The told me to go somewhere else. Why would you call your business Pep Boys if you cant honor your own warranty???

WILL NEVER GO TO ANOTHER PEP BOYS IN MY LIFE . I had a flat and replaced my tire here spent like 130$ so nothing crazy but the other day when I pulled into my driveway in another vehicle and saw the tire that I had bought 3 weeks ago was flat I understand stuff happens and Im not blaming anyone but myself for the flat . So I call them to ask if I can take it to a location closer to my house because I live about 25miles west of this location I was told it had to be this store sooooo I drive back over and they said it will cost about 25$ or so to do a tire repair on a tire I was told was under warranty all I ask is that pep boys not waste anyone elses time with b.s. we could have discussed over the phone with receipt in hand just seems like they were a little misleading with the information they presented I dont recommend any pep boys nation wide .... Mic drop
