They werent really friendly when walked in I guess because we were black. When my husband started asking questions and they realize our accent was different it was a whole different ball game and thats sad God made all of us.

Well I loved it, but I hated it as well. Pricing was hard to locate on most items. When you found it you said oh... now the great thing is they do have some cool items, bows for hunting, the guns you could burn a half a day looking, fishing well they are field and stream, so really theres the other half of the day.
My 19 yr old loves this store!! Not exactly cheap items but there are nice things here.. Looking for a canoe?? They have them. Outdoor people great fun to find stuff here..
Trevor, Jordan, and Emily provided customer service on a level that seems to no longer exist. Im normally not q big box store guy, but I am a customer service guy. This team has sold me on field and stream. I had recently moved to the area and have been looking for outdoor store I can call home. I spend alot of money on this hobby of mine throughout the year, so it is important to me to use people who care. If you are looking for a place that has a good selection you have found your home as well.

September 7, 2020 was my first time in the store. I had a very pleasant experience. The staff members were all very helpful and friendly, yet not pushy or overbearing. I was never pressured into buying anything. The store itself was clean and organized. I found what I was looking for, and they had the best price. It was even better with a 20% off coupon! I highly recommend Field & Stream for those seeking outdoors gear.

They always have the products that Im looking for but this time they did have the undercover security guy follow me around and ask me questions about the products I was buying like I didnt know he was undercover security guy but I played along because I Field & Stream is still one of my favorite store PS this is the only sporting goods store that have Handgun Ammunition in stock after 11 a.m.

Just a great shopping experience. This is a huge store with an amazing selection of everything for your outdoor needs at competitive prices and with better guarantees. However, I was most impressed with the staff. Everyone we encountered was helpful, courteous, knowledgeable and had a great attitude. This is hands down my favorite outdoor store.

Jordan at the gun counter is awesome . Came in with a few friends who where first time buyers and he made them feel very comfortable and did not push to sell . Everything is flawless . Great guy and they where the only place in town to have 9mm ammo . Love this store .
Great atmosphere, service in the archery department was great. An employee by the name of Chris restrung my bow, got it adjusted to me, helped me find the right arrow size, and gave me very helpful advice. Highly recommend for beginners like myself or even experienced hunters.

The (bait & tackle) sales rep that helped me today was very knowledgeable and I watched him help the couple in front of me today while I waited to ask a question. He took a great deal of time and had patience with them. I had no issue waiting but he looks over to me and asks what I need and I said youre fine but he insisted and said he could multi-task. That he did! He got another guy to go grab the product I needed from the back and continued helping the couple. As I got the product I needed I stayed for a second because I knew this guy knew his stuff so he asks me if I needed anything else and I just asked if he knew anything about the unit. He said he has the exact same unit on the front of his boat (fish finder) and it is perfect for what I will be using it for (canoe). I cant say enough about this guy and Ill definitely be going back because I havent gotten this level of knowledge at any of the major retail sports stores around.Another thing is the prices are great. I compared many to what I could get them for online and I will definitely be shopping here for most all my sporting needs.Awesome job and wish I could have gotten your name to give you credit! Great place overall and exceeded my expectations.

Im glad a store like this is in Hoover. I went in today to buy a sleeping bag. A customer service agent and a manager directed me to the right department and radioed a customer service representative to help me locate a sleeping bag. The customer service representative knew a lot about sleeping bags. Another employee directed me to an open cashier. The cashier told me a lot about the rewards program. I had no idea about it previously. I signed up. Generally dont write reviews unless service somewhere is really bad. If I had been shopping at a local electronics store, which I will not name, and I had been prepared to spend thousands of dollars at that store, I bet I would not have been able to find someone to help me.I thought this was an opportunity to identify a positive experience. Im not a hunter or a fisherman, but I will try to return to the store to buy things. Since Dicks Sporting Goods is associated with this store, Ill probably go there for all my athletic apparel purchases since my Field and Stream experience was so positive.

I walked in to look for a particular fishing rod. The sales associate asked if he could help me. He spent close to an hour teaching me all things fishing. He was very knowledgeable and so helpful, answering all my newbie questions and more.
The layout is nice, but I found the selection and employees lacking. Couldnt find non-cotton hiking pants anywhere in the store. No employee around when looking. Decided to leave and theyre all at the front door. No hello coming in but three have a nice day leave. Found that funny. Id come back since theres no other close option.
Very nice people especially the Bow tech. I purchased a wicked ridge x4 crossbow online brought it in still in the fedex box. No questions asked he took the box set everything up, sighted it in and then let me shoot at the indoor range. So helpful as I leave tonight for hunt in the morning and now will be confident going.
This place has everything you need. We went to buy ammo and they had a great selection and good prices. And we browsed the sales sections and found smoking cups and gun cases at good prices. My first trip to this store and well worth it.
I found what I was able to find what I was looking for , browsed the store and had a pleasant experience , except when I went to check out. The cashier was very nice. The only thing that I have a problem with is they dont give a military discount. The people in the military will go put there life on the line , every day, what would it hurt to show a little appreciation would they loose that much money. I mean REALLY !!!!!!!!!

My fiance and I were greeted outside the doors and were told given a flyer for the weekly deals. Apon entering the store, we were greeted again. We had a number of staff members offer their assistance if we needed it. Their hunting, fishing and camping selection is outstanding. Their products are excellent quality. We will definitely be coming back.

Great selection of Rods & Reels as well as tackle/lures. I was helped by a knowledgeable employee who showed me where to find what I asked about then he also told me about another item similar to what I had asked about that I ended up choosing over my initial thought. Im glad that I finally made the time to check it out, I wasnt disappointed in fact the opposite.
Great help in the firearms section, and great selection of pistols, rifles and shotguns at competitive prices. Note for bonus points: the Federal Firearms application is all on nice PC terminals, so no paper forms to deal with! Very cool!

I’ve been to this store several times in the last 3-4 months and have not been impressed. Sure, they have a lot of merchandise and the store itself is designed well, but the staff is not friendly or helpful at all. I worked in retail for over 20 years so I understand all the challenges store employees face, but as a consumer, a simple greeting goes a long way.
Ok I was a little disappointed when I couldnt find the bait we were looking for. And if we are gonna have to wear masks then stores should turn up the a/c.
This is one of my favorite stores to window shop. I like that they have so many different items, its just that they dont have much to choose from once you narrow down to a specific category. The kids like to come here to look at the different types of animals. Prices are very steep so sadly I tend to shop for a hands-on experience then order from Amazon.

It is rather frustrating how political this company has gotten lately. The store itself is rather impressive and they generally run great deals on ammo. I would give this store 5 stars, however with the recent politics being played by their parent company, Dicks sporting goods, it receives 3 stars at best.
I like the place it is big with plenty of out doors, camping, hunting, and survival equipment they also stock clothes like hoodies t shirts and working or hiking boots they have a large gun and bow section also with a good fishing area to top it all of there are scenes of wild life around for decoration I really like the place

This is the best store for someone who loves to be outdoors. I found a canoe online that I wanted to buy but they are hard to find. They had two in stock and definitely gonna be coming back here. They seem to have some of everything.
