Overall one of the best Mavis Discount Tire experience! I wasnt able to make an appointment because the place I did make reservations didnt have the parts for my car. So I had bounced around several places until I found this location. I was immediately helped by Joe who worked so efficiently and knowledgeably. He was able to get the parts I needed on short notice, squeeze me in without an appointment, and was very upfront with costs.This location even has a nice waiting area for you to work while you wait. Sectioned off with desks with electric outlets!!

I went to Mavis last month 9/9/2021 about an hour before closing. I picked up a nail on my way home from the city in my tire and needed it fixed right away. When I went in they were very busy. The gentleman behind the counter wasn’t sure if they had time to fix it because they were very busy. He asked the technician and he said he would fit me in. Despite it being late and very busy they fixed my tire within 20 minutes! The service here was excellent. I don’t usually write reviews but the workers here should be recognized for their excellent customer service. I am very grateful they were able to help because no other auto shop in the area was open.

The service manager Joe is so nice. My car wouldnt start after work, I called and told him what was going on. He said they were busy, but assured me that they could help even though it was towards closing time. When I arrived I asked if he could check into if it was an alternator or battery. He came back and told me it was just the battery needed to be replaced. I was in and out in a very timely manner and couldnt be happier with the staff. Very pleasant and honest. Would definitely recommend.

The service that I received at Mavis Tire of Centereach was great and beyond my expectations!I had recently gotten a flat tire due to a puncture from a nail. My father reminded me that I had insurance on the tires. I took it over to Mavis.The gentleman who was setting up the service to be received was very cordial and personable in how he handled the matter. I needed tires for my Jeep so I called Mavis in Centereach and spoke to the Manager Brad who was very knowledgeable. He helped me decide on the right tires for my truck and set up an appointment date and time for installation which was convenient for me. On the date of service I met the manager Brad who was very courteous and friendly. He took my keys and in no time my new tires were installed. The new tires makes my Jeep ride great. Made an appointment 2 days ago and when I arrived to get the work done, the TWO dudes in the white shirt at the front tells me in unisone that he only has one guy working and he cannot do it today. Mavis has two guys pushing paper and stapling at the front counter while there is one guy in the bay actually doing the work on cars!Mavis should at least show the courtesy to call/email and let customers know the work cannot be done and not to waste a trip even with appointmentI learned City Tire across the street provides much better and responsible service at a reasonable price

Took my car in for a simple tire rotation. And the manager recommended shocks/struts which I gladly did the work my car really did need it. Now my Chevy is riding so much better! Thank you team at Mavis!!

What can I say every time weve ever had a problem the guys at Mavis and centereach have always been able to help us out and take care of us friendly staff great management a lot of good guys and anytime were in a pinch since we moved out here theyve always been helpful understanding and professional. After my wife dropped off our daughter at daycare for the very first time her very first day going back to work she got a nail in her tire and it began to leak she managed to get it to a parking lot close to Mavis and the guys left the store came over and helped her get the car to the parking lot so they could fix her tire and get her off to work ever since then I will bring my car no place else amazing amazing service

Such a great mavis, honest, offered coupon, so impressed with the way I was treated and all the information and kindness I was given and they weren’t just looking to make money off of me. Came in for a oil change. The manager Joe recommended brakes and rotors all around my Subaru crosstrek. He gave me a very fair decent price seeing how the dealership wanted $500 for brakes and rotors just for the fronts. He did the same job for $330 plus tax.$660 for fronts and rears to be done was a great price. I will be going back for any work that needs to be done to my vehicle! Avoid this shop at all expenses. I brought my van in for an NYS inspection and was told it would fail for brakes. They wanted 330 plus tax for brakes and rotors. I took the van back and changed the brakes myself. The pads had 75% left in them and had perfectly even wear. I confronted them after and was told this is what the mechanic told them and he was no longer there. They then tried to tell me it was failing because of rotors but that is not part of the NYS inspection took protocol.I included pictures of the pads I removed so when they try to respond to this review they can try and explain that.

Terrible service. Extremely rude people work there who clearly don’t like their job. You call to ask a question/ price and you’re put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time to than just get hungup on. This location needs better management.

Just left Mavis Discount Tires in Centereach, NY. Got an oil change and I dealt with Ross at the counter. I usually see Joe there who is great btw.Anyway I left and was driving back home and heard a noise in one of my tires. So I went back. I told Ross and he came out with me to check. He took some time to check. He validated that I was correct about there being something in my tire! He had it repaired right away. Thanks Ross. Thanks Mavis. Perfect! Not only was Joe S. an extremely nice and kind worker, but he even made sure to get me out of there as quick as possible since I needed to get to work. I have been bringing all my vehicles here since moving to Long Island. Ross and Bret were Professional, friendly and courteous. I have had nothing but awesome encounters with the staff at this mavis with no issues on any occasion. Everytime i come here no matter whos working up from they give me all this information and recommendations that would best fit my needs on my truck. From tires, breaks and inspections they have always proven to me they are the best. Im a hard person to please but this location is hands down my favorite and i will continue to bring all my vehicles here. 10/10 recommend.

Was better years ago, until workers Patrick and Joe left for other Mechanics. But Mavis still have reasonable prices and are one of a few places that you can fill your tires with Air any time and day for Free while also take advantage of their Free Tire Rotation. Which should be done every 5K-6k miles. While my dealership wanted to charge me $30 to rotate and when I refused they said that they’ll do me a favor and do it for $20. To make them stop suggesting I had to mention that I get my tires rotated for free at Mavis. They also will check over your brakes pads, rotors, fluids etc… at no charge. Also look for their deals and coupons in the penny saver etc.. overall better than dealerships when it comes to basic mechanical work and a lot cheaper than GoodYear and they are quick for the most part if you go early. If not make an appointment, my Mavis is in Centereach on RT25 by Holbrook rd across from the Walmart.

Mavis in Centereach was a awesome place, But now the new manager over charges. I have 2008 toy. Avalon and was charged $$600 for a new Starter. Infact the TOY. Dealer wanted $$560 for a new Starter. In the past I would of saved $$200 over the dealer price. The most I should of payed for the new dualistic starter is $$360.

The manager joe left!!! The place is not the same without him. The ONLY reason I went to Mavis was because I could trust joe. the new manager seems to not care and is overcharging. JOE OPENED HIS OWN SHOP ACROSS THE STREET. I WILL BE GOING THERE FROM NOW ON. good employees are hard to find.mavis should have done whatever they could to keep joe. Ill be going across the street where I know I have someone I can trust.

Do not recommend.I got quoted a price for tire install and the next day went to have tires installed and they wanted to charge me way more then they quoted and they denied what they quoted meThen one of the tires they installed was loosing air . I checked and it was leaking air from the new tire valve they installed. I called them and they told me to bring it back so they can look at it. I work overnights so they said first thing in the morning is the best time . I got there at 8:30 am and they told me it was going to be a 3 hour wait to replace a valve that takes 15 minI called customer support to see if they can help and they told me I will be getting a call from the district manager ( Mike Disenaro ) directly to see if they can get my car in without a 3 hour wait . Well he didn’t bother contacting me so my tire is still leaking air .They have terrible customer service and I will never go there again .

Brought my car in for an alignment and mount and balance 4 new tires. I brought my own tires. No need to get overcharged for tires. The store was empty. Went to breakfast at the diner came back and they were doing the tires. Finished the tires then pulled on the alignment rack. It sat there running for 20 minutes then they pulled it off the rack and tried to charge me for an alignment. Then I told them to actually do the alignmet and everyone looked confused. It took an hour and 20 minutes just to get it aligned. How does this place make money. Mavis sucked in the past and I guess they still do. Unreal. When I worked in the dealers. I could mount, balance, and do an alignment in 25 minutes.

Always a pleasurable experience. Came in concerned about my car and always leave relieved. I came in this time with a more auto-body type of issue and the man working the front at the time thankfully let me know one of the guys from an auto-body shop they work closely with happened to be at Mavis. Tim from Brian’a shop was so very helpful and even came out with me to look at my car while it was snowing! He answered all my questions and discussed the different routes I can take to get my problem fixed. These gentlemen did not have to be this helpful but they chose to be and that’s why I will always choose Mavis

The gentlemen up front are always welcoming and pleasant. Dropped my car off mid day on a Wednesday and they took care of me right away. After taking a look at my car, the mechanic was personally able to share with me my options, answered any questions I had and relieved any worries. Thankful I can rely on Mavis 7 days a week.

Do not ever go here, they falsely failed me on a NYS inspection and tried extorting me into paying them 200/300 dollars for a brake job. . . . . I went home and changed the pads and rotors in question only to find out there was more than enough friction material left on the pads to pass a NYS inspection. Avoid at all costs, this is the kind of auto repair shop people warn you about, they will try to sell you work you dont need. Technician also left dirty footprints all over my door trim and floormats. Find a local mom and pop place and put these sham chains out of business for good.

Overcharge on oil change, lied about the price at the end. The wheel was dirty and stained when I got my car back, not honest and quality service, does not recommend!

I just got new tires put on my car I dont like how they charge me some mysterious extra$20 in sales tax that doesnt appear anywhere on the receipt, also the receipt says the check my suspension and battery and meanwhile both need to be replaced. Wow! Terrible service! I made an appointment days ahead of time for 1pm on Saturday. I showed up at 12:45 and waited an entire hour and still was not seen. After that long I asked for my keys back, nobody should wait that long for a simple oil change. Will now find a new place of business. Lamont at the front desk was useless he checked in multiple people while also trying to ring me up. So unprofessional.

I needed air in my car tires. Its free here , which is hard to find now of days . Its 34 degrees out but it feels like 20 . Whenever I call, they always find a way to squeeze in my appointment, and get finished quickly. Their local competition always wants you to wait, or schedule something for another day. That’s why Mavis is my go-to local tire shop.

Efficient and courteous service on this visit and on previous visits to this shop. Prices are competitive, easy to make an appointment on the day and time that I needed and the wait was quick. So far, I have no reason not to trust them nor have I had a bad experience which has been the case with so many other places.

I am honestly shocked at some of the negative reviews on here. I have been to the Mavis in Centereach probably around 6-7 times, and every time they were kind, honest, and got the work done quickly. From new tires, to oil changes, to inspections, to a new exhaust system, Mavis has always done a good job for me. When it comes to repairs, they have always brought me into the garage and showed me exactly what the problem was before fixing it. If you ask them, they will also provide brake checks, exhaust checks, and battery checks for free. And to those complaining about the price, THEY GIVE YOU A QUOTE BEFORE THE SERVICE. If you dont like the price, go somewhere else. In terms of quality, Mavis has earned my trust. Ive never had to go back twice for the same issue. All in all, these guys are great.

Seriously, absolutely cheapest tire/repair shop chain out there! But be prepared to drop your car off, they are VERY busy and theres no walk-ins. But again, the cheapest tires and break pads peicing I have ever paid for in my life. They are always slammed busy because people know they have great prices and they do quality work.

Got brand new tires , my interior of my car is very light and it came back with this grease like oil on the seats I complained and they said I could go get it detailed which I did and they paid for it so I’m kinda happy but they need to be a little more neat
