A gem of a hardware store. Weve been using them for years. Amazing how many services they offer. And their staff are reliably knowledgeable. They may not have the lumber or some bulk construction materials you can get at the big outlets, but theyve got just about anything for home projects or repairs. Tool rentals. Paint. Sprinklers. All those irritating little parts you need in the middle of a job. Terrific garden center is best for miles around.

Took my weed trimmer (I bought from Big Tool Box) in to get it serviced. Its been two months. I was told that it would take about 10 days. I started calling after a couple of weeks and was told parts were on order. I called again last week and was told that it wasnt worth fixing the unit but they would be happy to sell me a new one. Remember, I started to call weekly and was always told they were waiting for parts. I think it just sat on the shelf and finally someone took a quick look at it and said it wasnt worth fixing. They want, $30.00 for looking at my trimmer. I understand this is how technicians make their living but they could have told me within 10 days of receiving my trimmer that it couldnt be fixed so I could have moved forward and purchased another unit. Ive been doing business with Big Tool Box for years and usually they do a good job but they dropped the ball on this one. Thats for sure.

This is the best hardware spot in town! They will always do their best to help you with everything they can! I love their sprinkler center and rental center! They are quick to help and always get you what you need! My only problem is in the rental center it can get severely backed up with the U-Haul‘s.

I had to re-do the main line of my sprinkler system and found it cost prohibitive to hire someone to do it. With a lot of patience and advice given by Jayden and Daniel I was able to complete the project on my own. These guys gave me the confidence to do it myself and Im extremely grateful!

The prices posted on the Shelf are different then the price in the computer. Be cautious because they will try to overcharge you without warning. When brought to their attention they blamed it on inflation but did not take responsibility for marking the item incorrectly on the Shelf. Unfriendly staff and terrible manager.

I showed up a couple minutes after they closed and banged on the door. Whats the plant emergency you ask??? My Mom is suffering with covid right now and I wanted to buy a couple Snake Plants that produce a lot of oxygen.Well, a nice man came to the door and I told him why I was there and he immediately let me in and helped me get 2 plants. He was kind and patient and I am very grateful. Thank you!!!

I have had the worst luck with summer customer service and ace rewards coupons here this summer. I love the year round staff and I prefer shopping at smaller businesses but Id recommend another garden store for your summer shopping. Youll save time and money.

Wonderful place and staff. We were in search of something that you wouldnt think to find at a hardware store. We were going to try and climb one of the higher trails in the mountains and were in need of something to give us some more traction on the ice and snow. We searched all of the usual outdoor shops for cleats but they were all sold out. Apparently the middle of February is not considered the season for selling winter gear. We got online and, low and behold, Big Tool Box had several in stock. In slight disbelief, we drove there immediately to buy. The first associate we encountered was fairly new and really didnt have any idea what we were even asking for. But that didnt deter him, oh no. He helped us look up and down the idles until we finally found what we came there for. He was so helpful and we couldnt thank him enough. If you have time, just stop by this place and check it out. They have a very large selection of outdoor garden materials and seem to be a great mix of small hardware and big box store.

The Big Tool Box is my go to place when looking for anything I need to fix stuff around the house or work on a home project. The staff is very courteous and quick to help you.

Ive been coming to this hardware store for a number of years now. Every time I come, I have always been helped by their very excellent employees. They have tons of services ranging from those of your typical hardware store (selling home hardware) along with a garden department, sprinkler department, and repair shop. They repaired an old chainsaw of mine and have helped me with finding the proper sprinkler parts that I need (something I recently discovered). I will only be coming here from now on for my sprinkler needs as they are miles above the other sprinkler shops in the area.

This place is the BEST! The selection is always high quality and the staff is very knowledgeable. Worth the trip!

Absolutely adore the big toolbox. Its a bit of a drive for us, but in my opinion its worthwhile. We are a big fan of the garden center. Its where we buy all of our plants for the year and we get to say hello to their resident cat, which is pretty wonderful.

Okay first of all, the houseplants are fairly priced and they arent peddling pothos and fiddle leaf figs. They have calatheas, peperomias, air plants, succulents, and the rare guys too. We checked out while it was raining and an employee walked us to our car with an umbrella. Ace really is the helpful place! 😊

Staff were friendly. However drove extra distance for item that showed in stock online that turned out to be not available in store. I also called ahead of time to confirm that the store offered military discount even for Milwaukee tools on sale. Then at checkout was told that they couldnt honor the military discount on sale items.UPDATE 16 June - The out of stock item came in and Dan from BTB called and offered to deliver it to my home in Castle Rock since he lived here as well. Saved me the almost 1 hour round trip. I have to say that is some stellar service. Upgraded my review from 3 to 5 stars.

Although this is known as a great store, the U-Haul rental division of this store is HORRID!!!! I booked a U-Haul rental with this store in late June and was told I could pick it up at the So Holly location. When I called to verify the reservation 4 four days prior to picking up the vehicle I was told I’d have to go to another facility, that facility was unaware of my rental. When I did a face to face with the rental counter at Big Tool Box I was told that I’d have to go to 21st and Grape to pick up the vehicle and was told that there were no assurances that a vehicle would be available.I have decided to go with another truck rental company and will never rent from Big Tool Box again.Whether this issue is Big Tool Box’s or U-Haul, someone should take responsibility for this TERRIBLE SERVICE.

Rented a uhaul truck here, which in and of itself was easy. Only issue I had was it took them 5 days to return the extra deposit they charged.

Every major store near me was out of camping propane tanks. Called them, they had it, held it for me at check out, also purchased a bundle of wood and the gentleman at check out helped me carry it to my car. This is why I dont shop at Walmart, you just dont get service as good as this at the big stores. Thanks for providing excellent services

Staff were very nice and helpful as well as knowledgeable of plants and in what conditions they could thrive. Prices were reasonable and we were able to get a juvinile tomato plant for $8. Plus they have an adorable feral cat named ferris that they let us meet! All around an enjoyable experience

DO NOT BUY STIHL PRODUCTS FROM THIS STORE. They will only honor an exchange for 7 days. We just bought a new weedeater only two weeks ago and tried to use it for the first time today. It doesnt work. I took it back to exchange it for another one and was told that I SHOULD HAVE READ THE WARRANTY BOOK BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. The warranty book was given to me at the cash register when I was paying for it two weeks ago. I guess I should have stopped paying and read the entire thing right there. The only reason I shop at this store is for convenience and customer service. If I wanted to deal with STIHL directly to exchange a broken product, then I would just shop online because its MUCH CHEAPER online. Anyway, I am going to Home Depot this afternoon to buy a new one and I will never spend another dime at this Ace Hardware and I strongly recommend you dont either.

As soon as I walked in the door I was approached and was asked if I needed help. I told him I was there to get keys made and they made them quick and easy. I thought this errand was going to take much longer than it did.

We had a Holiday Art Market here and it was a lot of fun! All of the Big Tool Box employees were very friendly and helpful so I will shop here on the future.

I love this place, there are times you need the big box competitor that I will leave unnamed, but this place has an awesome garden center, it has a great lawn repair and tune shop, and the people are awesome!

Love this place. When you need more assistance than you will get at most big box stores go to the Tool Box. Work on a motor scooters, cycles and VWs. It is the best source locally for metric hardware. Very good small engine shop downstairs.

GREAT HELP AND ADVICE!!!! I went in for a plumbing problem. From a couple of photos I got EVERYTHING I needed to fix the solution. I had NO idea what I needed and they gave me stuff I thought why do I need this??? I DID need everything they suggested. Im originally from Boulder and I always paid extra for everything I got from McGuckin and it was worth it. I thought Id really miss that store. I think Im okay now. The Big Tool Box seems like a much better bet than the big box stores where nobody helps you.

These guys are fantastic. I had ordered a replacement auger for a snow blower, but couldn’t figure out how to install without tearing the whole machine apart and the manual was worthless for repairs. Jason in service was willing to come outside for 15 minutes to give me tips and get me back up and running. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Good place for your irrigation needs, a little pricey but the have a large selection.

No attention to detail in the rental shop. I was specific in what machine I wanted to reserve for the next morning. When I got there they had just rented it to someone else. The manager did offer 50% off my rental when it came back, but thats really not much help when I needed the machine right away. I cant imagine if I was a business owner paying employees by the hour.

Very knowledgeable about any question I have brought them. Amazing nursery help, they were a key component to one of my 2020 projects. The sprinkler department in the basement is amazing and the repair department has brought my mower back from the dead twice. My go to hardware store.

Typically have had good service till the rudest lady in paint today asked to help us, then just said “no-don’t have it” when we asked for something we found online available for pickup today. Once I showed her the item online, she gruffly said come here and stormed down the aisle to the item. Customers should not have to convince sales associates, especially at Ace where care and personal service are what set Ace apart from other home supply stores.

I have shopped at Big tool box forever not because they have a large selection like the big box stores but because they actually gasp!!!!! provide customer service. I went in today with a super unique plumbing problem bought some items not sure if they will work or not but the point is Stan and Brian both spent at least 30 minutes if not more making sure they had exhausted all other alternatives. Due to an emergency yesterday I had to go to both the big box stores. To say the customer service was zero is a compliment it was awful. I wont know until tomorrow if the stuff I bought worked or not but just the fact anyone finally understood I am asking for help because I dont know the answer was super refreshing. This is my fav garden center in the Denver area. They carry cute gifts from small artists locally and from other states. They have anything you could need for outdoor or indoor gardening. Their plants are always lovely and although I spend more than I plan to when I walk in, I always feel satisfied going home with my new babies 🌱 the plants look as though they feel loved and its important to bring home a happy plant. The staff is always polite and helpful, and I always recognize the familiar faces 🙌

Not really fair to rate a garden center this time of year. What they have left is on 50% off sale, except for the fall feature plans. They are extremely helpful and will ask other workers if they dont have answers. Its definitely worth stopping in if you have any space left in your garden.

I went there today 2/14/2021 to get our RV filled with propane. Normally we go to the one in highland ranch, but their machine wasnt working.Now its 11pm we just realized when you walk by the RV we have a strong oder of propane. Because it is leaking. The young man that filled our RV today had no idea how to fill it. He put the nozzle on crooked and its been leaking since we filled it at 1:30pm. The tank is half gone already and they are closed. Hopefully nothing happens threw out the night but we are forsure it will be empty by morning. So if you get propane from this location make sure who ever is filling it for you knows what they are doing.Okay today we talked to Dan Gorton the general manager which ask us to stop by. He personally came out and checked out our RV with Jason and due to the extreme cold weather yesterday the propane froze instantly when they removed the nozzle causing the gasket not to seal properly. So I must say that Dan went above and beyond to make this a 5 star review. We will definitely be going back. Thank you Dan for helping us and solving a problem which wasnt anyone fault but the cold weather.

I hate giving these guys a bad review, but I dont know where else to leave it. It comes down to a U-Haul rental I had scheduled to pick up at their location. Any time Ive gone their for tools, etc theyve been super duper helpful - so please dont not shop there because of this review. I do recommend finding other truck rental companies other than U-Haul.Id reserved my truck over 2 weeks in advance. About 2 days before my scheduled pick up date, I was notified the NEAREST 26 truck was in Fort Collins - over 75 miles and 90 minutes away from where I was supposed to pick it up. They gave me the option to pick it up a day early (which I had to, because I had a company scheduled to help me load the truck the morning I was supposed to get the truck). So I had to drive over 150 miles and 3 hours out of my way to get the truck. All they offered me was the extra day free and some extra miles - all which is a no-brainer given it was THEIR fault I had to go to northern CO to get the truck. They did not offer me gas. They did not give me my free $50 or whatever it was if they did not provide me my preferred truck at my preferred location. Pretty much got boned.

Rude employee...(probably the same rude lady in paint talked about in another review below written by Jake McCree)Of course the website says they have what Im looking for, but...When I entered the store I went up to someone to see if they could look up an item that shows in stock at this location. She didnt even bother to look at the product on my phone but just asked what I was looking for. I informed her it was grass seed and she sighed and said you cant put that out until May anyway. I informed her of dormant seeding in colorado and she said yeah, okay. I said that is how nature seeds. She said yeah, okay. She asked me for the brand and said shes never heard of it. I tried showing the picture on my phone and she said Im the stocking manager, Ive never heard of it. She didnt even bother to look up the SKU on her computer, nor offer to order it like other Aces did (btw, I went to three different Aces that all said they had it in stock but didnt). So I just ended up ordering it from a popular online retailer.

The guy who helped me was friendly. I knew exactly what I wanted and he just sided in the transaction and registering my new product. I prefer Ace to any hardware store and this location, while new to me, is no different. Additionally its large and well stocked with a better inventory than my local store.

I came in here 1 minute to closing I had to get a trailer to get my motorcycle towed home because it was broke down on the street and the city was going to tow it away if I didnt get it out of there by tonight. Both of the gentleman that work in the rental department were very helpful and professional. I caught one of their names was Luke.. they werent upset at all that they had to stay over an extra 30 minutes to help me get a trailer which I really appreciate. Not to mention the short hair lady with glasses that works upstairs in retail, she re-opened the register to take my payment which she didnt have to do so that was awesome of her. I recently went into this location to purchase some tools for gardening. In the checkout line I witnessed an older staff member named Travis harrasing and berating what appeared fellow colleagues. This is unacceptable behavior and ruins all customer service I have ever received. I wish I could be supporting local business especially in a pandemic but from here on out I WILL BE TAKING MY BUISNESS TO LOWES!

I have been a BTB regular for over twenty years and have almost always been satisfied. They usually have what you want and the staff is usually friendly and helpful. Since the recent expansion things have gone down hill a bit. First of all they have too much crammed in there - the store feels claustrophobic and disorganized. Eventually you get used to that. More importantly is the new staff and customer service approach. Pushy and condescending instead of helpful. I was looking for a dishwasher supply line, and wasn’t sure exactly which length would work better. The employee was kind of obnoxious about the fact that I didn’t know which length would be better. Since they had several of each, I said I would buy both and bring the unused one back in a couple hours. Both lines came with fittings, and the guy says with a snide tone, to the guy who has spent thousands of dollars there over twenty-two years, “Make sure I get my fittings back.” I have had other less than pleasant encounters with new employees, including one guy who stared rudely at the scar on my forehead from an accident years ago. It’s not pretty, but it’s not shocking either. I still give them 4-stars hoping they get their growing pains handled. Also, the sprinkler store downstairs and the nursery are still great, if a little more expensive than competitors.

Knowledgeable staff and a good selection of healthy plants. I would have liked to see someone sanitizing the cart handles like some other nurseries are doing right now. But otherwise social distancing was good.

This is a unique hardware, repair, home/garden, and rental store. They have many hard to find items in plumbing, electrical, irrigation, fasteners, etc. I also bought a carburetor for a 2 cycle rototiller and recently had my chainsaw blades sharpened while I waited. Prices are also reasonable.

Always helpful staff and the garden center is excellent. I was on the hunt for a replacement tub faucet. Struck out at Home Depot and Lowes but Big Tool Box had it. Should have gone there first!
