Helpful staff, great selections for fabric & craft supplies and always a coupon or two to help cut costs available

If they are open because they sell fabric for masks and deem that to be important for heath safety then why don’t any of the employees wear them ? They don’t keep any social distancing from each other especially behind the register. There were 3 employees working at one open register and the other two were brushing past for pick ups today May 1st. Since pick up curbside is an obvious consideration be aware that if you need something right away you may have to wait an extra day. They said the reason is the amount of online pick up orders. If your item is in stock there and IF you need it right away you can still go inside to buy. They have the floor marked to keep customers at cash registers 6 feet apart.

Very pleased with the wait time this visit. A year ago it took 45 min to get fabric cut. Went during an off time and over and out in 10!

It is a perfect store for household item projects. I bought fabrics to reform my skirt from here. They have a good variety of choices to go with from simple cotton fabrics of different patterns to exotic / kids / fun patterns. Unless you are a professional to go for Runway Project, this is a good place to start from. Seasonal /special sales go around the year that I could get good deals most of time. Staff are courteous and kind though, I had to look for ones to ask questions: staffing was low. I believe it is because of pandemic related management. Overall, I cannot find much of shortcomings.

This was the first trip I have made into Joann fabrics and crafts. I was not familiar with how the process goes with purchasing fabric and getting it cut to the yards you need. The ladies were very friendly and helpful. They made the process easy as well. 🙂 The prices were very reasonable for yards of fabric in my opinion. I will definitely be going back there for any other craft needs I and my children have!

Clean your bathrooms they are NASTY. Dead bug carcasses everywhere. Floors Havent been cleaned in months.

They didnt have the items I was looking for. They cant sell everything under the sun though.

It was great. The associate was so helpful and polite. We were there till the last minute and not once did we feel rushed.

Staff is always helpful and have a decent selection of supplies. Disappointed they dont carry oragami paper or quilling supplies. Sometimes line too check out is very long, so do not recommend stopping in if you are in a hurry. I Like the glitter paper selection, though they need a true purple and yellow.

I went in with my mom to find 50s style dress patterns, as theyre comfortable and make me feel nice, they didnt have the exact one I was looking for but I found a couple I like

Dont recommend this store, as the manager wouldnt accept money from a local Cedar Rapids business owner.Wouldn’t take my $100 bill even after they checked it with the bill marker I pulled out 2 more she said she won’t take any of them from me I said so if you don’t accept real $100 bills then what ones will you take she said they accept hundred dollar bills just not any of mine is it just because I’m covered in tattoos and I’m not a little old lady?

Joanns has a great selection of fabric and flowers, but I cant ever seem to find the deco mesh or ribbon Im looking for.

I asked the checkout lady where a mesh towel was and she sent me to the linen towel. The help need to know the items or send me to talk to someone else. The store itself was clean but. I didnt feel there were easily located items. I was not planning on going back soon. I give a 3 out of 5.

Joann fabrics has a fine selection of craft materials here. They have quilting fabrics and patterns. They even have cake decorating items and a lot of home decor items. My 7 year old granddaughter loves this store with all its crafting and home decorating ideas. You truly know that the possibilities are endless.

If youre looking for fabric in particular, they have the most amazing selection Ive found so far in the area! In fact, loads of craft supplies in so many categories with good sales. Hobby Lobby is still my overall favorite in this category, but if you like to sew, this needs to be on your list!

Have pretty much everything you need to have a smooth crafting project. My only quelm is Jo-Ann never seems to be working when I visit. You would think with a place named after her she would grace us with her presence more often. Other than that, bomb craft supplies.

Kind courteous, and well-stocked. I love going to this Jo Ann. The people that work here really know what Im talking about when I asked for specific products, or I consult them on their opinion for craft material. Its nice to be able to talk to people that can direct you to the correct product while taking the time to get to know what you really need.

It is just about the only place to buy fabric. Some of the staff cant be very helpful. Their selection is great for the most part but the ladies at Hancocks had this place beat hands down for customer service and knowledge.

My only real complaint is that they always seem to be limited on staff. I understand desire to keep prices low, but this is the kind of business where people ask a lot of questions. The check out lines are usually pretty long too.They do have a great selection, and frequently offer coupons, so watch for those.The classes are fun too!

I found what I was after, but the selection was limited. Their attempt to cover all the crafts leaves little room for any individual craft.

Great selection of fabrics, craft and home decor items. They have some great coupons through both their email and their app. The cutting table can take quite a while to get through at times and the checkout can be a bottleneck also. Dont come in without plenty of time.

I used to work here and I cant stress enough how awful they are to their employees. Most of the management team is amazing but the head of the store, Bev, has little to no care for her employees. They are constantly understaffed and put under insanely high expectations and the other manager do their best to help with the work load, but Bev is unreliable and has little respect for the wellbeing of those she manages. It is currently a pandemic and she is telling employees to be reliable when they cant find a way to work. I know she doesnt have the power to close the store but I feel that the lack of compassion shows how little she really cares. When I worked there I was constantly led in opposite directions on how I was supposed to do things, and when customers complained of it being understaffed, that was put in us. Please done support Joanns if you care about how the employees are treated, they deserve better. Im just glad I got out when I did. One more thing, on one of our busiest days, Bev just didnt show up when she was scheduled. One of the other managers had to come in early and sick to open the store because Bev just decided not to show up. If anyone else pulled that they would be fired. She cant even hold herself to the same expectations.

Great fabric store, come here for my wife to get fabrics for quilting, always have large selection of fabrics, backing materials, scissors, threads, rulers and plastic patterns, have also walked entire store, they have about everything for all crafts. This is our go to place in CR for fabric tho, most of the staff in the fabric half of store all seem to be very knowledgeable about sewing/quilting and are very helpful, always sales going on, hard part is using coupons as they are for non sale items but when you find those non sale item the coupons are 50% or 60% off one item and the price is taken from most expensive eligible item at check out. Great experience everytime we go.

This is the most amazing store Ive ever seen! They have a nice selection and are willing to help you look up and or find exactly what youre looking for! They let you use multiple coupons at once. Ive returned items there (because I ended up with more than I needed) with no problems. They are always very friendly, clean sore & nice selection. If I could shop there every day I would.I do think it takes a long time to get through the lines there at the check out, but thats because theyre SO amazing with letting us use multiple coupons! Who doesnt want to spend a long time at Joanns anyway?!?!

I love Joann fabrics, but Im giving them a low rating because we had to wait almost an hour for our fabric to be cut. There was only one lady working her AO,,and this was 4:30 in the afternoon. They definitely need to treat their employees better by staffing accordingly.

I like the navigable space of JOANNs. They have a lot of what you need. Easy in, easy out. A couple of the other bigger stores are not as handy for quick last min supplies. It is my firs choice.

Huge selection of fabrics. Not all of the fabrics are well organized (I found the same print on the same fleece in three different spots). I went on a Saturday evening and they did not have enough people working. Only 2 ladies cutting fabric and over 15 minute wait. Very expensive too, over $40 for 6 yards of fleece and it was on sale Despite it all, I would go back for the large selection and great quality!
