Love everything about cooks! Dr. Sperino is attentive specifically in helping you discover the best hearing aide options as well as works for you financially. She’s knowledgeable and takes time to explain each portion of your visit, your hearing test, and options. Every one who works here has the same attitude of patience including scheduling. I’m so glad I chose this practice to guide me through my audiology needs!

Recently I had a hearing aid that needed to be sent back to the factory for repair. Cook Hearing handled this for me. When it came back I had to go in and have my other hearing aid and Iphone paired with it. After this was accomplished I still had an issue with hearing well. It was decided I should have a hearing test in the sound booth. After this my hearing had declined some. This new data was uploaded to my hearing aids. I still had an issue. Another test in the booth was done but this time with my hearing aids on. New data was then loaded into my hearing aids. WOW! I could now hear all kinds of new sounds. I say all this because at no time was I told: I am sorry but this is all we can do, your hearing is too bad. I was listened to with intent to solve this hearing issue I was having. I am so blessed by the caring folks at Cook Hearing to solve issues and not sweep them under the rug.

One of my aids was chewed up by my dog. I took it into Elizabeth, expecting to have to buy a replacement...it was in pieces. It would have been easy for her to tell me it was a lost cause to be repaired, but she repaired it !!!!! Now that says everything I need to know about Elizabeth and Cook Hearing. Dr. Sperino took good care of me. She put me through some thorough testing and gave me some very detailed training on usage and cleaning of my new aids. Then on follow up visits she was just as helpful answering my questions and patient with all my questions. I am a senior now and dont retain information as well as I did in my younger days, but she was so good going over everything as many times as it took.If you are concerned about Covid safety, rest assured they are thorough with the cleaning and safety protocols.I thought she was so good, I just sent my wife to her for her hearing aids.

I flew my parents to Austin from Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria. My Dad lost his hearing aids during the hurricane so we needed to get him new ones. We contacted Cook Hearing and from day one they were very helpful and gracious dealing with our ordeal. Within a couple of days my dad was able to get a hearing test and purchase hearing aids with Cook at a reasonable price. We cannot thank them enough for all they did for our family. This place is life changing.Dr. Sperino is caring and attentive, patient, and extremely helpful. The staff was wonderful (they were also attentive, and quick to assist). I’ve suffered from tinnitus for decades and this was the first time I’ve felt any relief. I didn’t expect hearing aids to be the solution yet now very rarely do I hear that high pitched noise that’s been a constant companion for so long. I can say without shame I cried in that office.

I came to Cooks with increasing difficulty understanding conversation and a need to continually ask people to push up the volume of the TV. After a comprehensive hearing test, they were able to lend me a pair of state-of-the-art hearing aids. They have been amazingly patient, repeatedly refining and tweaking the setup until Im hearing really well now. They are so friendly - amazingly helpful - I felt that they were on my side at every step of the way!

Cook Hearing and Balance has been very accommodating to my 81 year old father and helped him through the hearing aid fitting process multiple times as his hearing has declined over the past several years. Lori Cook is very patient and explains herself well, being extra careful to speak slowly and in a lower tone so that my father can hear her and remain a part of the process. Kristen Armstrong has also been helpful with the ear mold process and was also very patient and helpful towards my father.

Signing up for the maintenance plan is a must for me! You get quarterly cleaning along with a complete check of your hearing device AND enough batteries to last until your next 3 month checkup. Im not even sure where to begin. My Husbands hearing has been steadily getting worse over the last few years, and even though he is only in his 40s, his hearing has dipped down into the profound hearing loss range. In 2005, I lost more than 50% of my high frequency hearing due to a an episode of Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease. Steroid injections through my ear drums by my ENT doctor stopped further loss, but could not recover it. I got my first over-the-ear instruments in 2007 from Cook Hearing after realizing my speech interpretation was so bad that I was becoming socially isolated. I wore the original set for 5 years, but the wind noise prohibited full-time use.In 2013 I upgraded to new in-the-ear technology with custom molded instruments. The technological improvements were quickly realized with better noise cancellation and I was more comfortable wearing them because they were hidden from view. I wore these instruments for the next 5 years until I began to notice my speech was not optimal and my ear canals were more frequently irritated with them in.This year 2018, I made the decision to be retested with a consultation for the opportunity to upgrade again to latest technology. Dr. Sperino listened to my concerns and provided a through examination. With her considered recommendation I purchased, new Signia Silk Nx instruments. These are lighter, smaller and ready-to-wear. With a phone application I can change programs for different environments and always control the volume. With two office visits for adjustments, I can report that I have the best quality hearing life in the past 13 years!Today I can work in a noisy environment, socialize in any setting and understand conversation without feeling anxious. I have regained the desire to listen to music with lyrical comprehension. I am fearless to meet new people and challenge myself to speak in public. Cook Hearing deserves an Olympic gold medal. I had been living with significant hearing loss for many year. I went to Cook, they suggested the Linx2 hearing aids. The Linx2 are great, help me to hear clearly, and have numerous incredibly useful features. My only problem was the left ear device became uncomfortable after a few hours of wear. Cook continued to patiently try different device set ups over a period of 6 or 7 weeks, with no satisfactory solution. I had almost given up, then the new Dr. Sperino tried yet another device set up, which worked perfectly. I now wear the aids for 16+ hours with no discomfort, often forgetting I have them on.The Cook staff is always friendly and upbeat. The entire experience is first class.

My first set of hearing aids were dispensed through Cook Hearing and Balance. Lori took great care of adjusting and servicing my hearing aids even though they were not their primary choice of instruments. I had purchased through an online re-seller not knowing the difference of what a local business had to offer. I will never make the mistake of purchasing online again but again Lori treated me as her customer regardless. She also went way above and beyond when the local Phonak representative at the time did not. Being a younger patient with hearing loss I wanted all of the bells and whistles to work with todays technology. Well I have to say now that the hearing instruments on the market at that time were a little behind on the technical curve. You had to have all of these external device to connect to the devices and it got messy. Today I recommend getting the smallest most comfortable instruments and if they come with bells and whistles great but I demand excellent hearing instruments that are hardly noticeable and comfortable to wear. Later I started working with Ann Rohner and moved to a different brand. Ann guided me through some through decisions and I wound up buying my second pair of hearing aids from the company she worked for at the time. Ever since I have been following Ann around to be lead back right were I started off. I cannot think of or recommend a better team of individuals to consult and provide exceptional service. Would I recommend Cook Hearing and Balance, Lori Cook and Ann Rohner to a friend? I have and I will continue doing so!
