Purchased a VERY heavy power generator, and a kind employee named Jeff helped us from start to finish. What prompted us to leave a review was when he went above and beyond, by waiting until after we checked out, then unexpectedly arriving in the parking lot to help get it loaded into the truck. That was beyond helpful, and such a pleasant surprise!!

This place has awesome prices. I bought 3 pairs of Nike shoes and was shocked at what I spent. I did not expect for 2 pairs of Nike shoes to have been discounted by $20 a pair.Very helpful and courteous staff. Pleasant shopping experience for me!

Hard to find an academy these days but this one is always well stocked and managed well.

Today has been the best experience Ive ever had. Every employee smiled at me asking if they could help me as we passed each other. Just over all positive place to shop. Start going in the AM.

Great guys that helped me pick out my boys fishing gear. Appeared to be fully staffed and friendly and eager to answer questions. Actual checkers with short lines.

I stopped to get change for a $20 all I needed were 5s to tip the luggage handlers as we were going on a cruise. The young lady said she would call the Manager. The Manager was a middle age woman who said that giving me 4 5s for a 20 was against their policy. I have been going to Academy since they had 1 store on IH35 in Austin and have never been treated so rudely.

Always find what I need for my home gym. Especially with this covid. Easy to order online and pick up curbside.

I will be reporting, but so that the public is aware, this location failed to honor the price marketed on an item marked as clearance. The item had a clearance price tag, the clearance items were marketed as 30% off the green price tag (~65% off). When we went to check out our oldest son noticed that the register didn’t discount the last clearance item (as it did the others). We let the cashier know. He checked and thought the sign said the price was 30% off not 30% off the marked price. That was also confirmed by another employee, so the cashier performed an override. The Manager who was called over to override the price adjustment did not approve the override. I’ve never experienced false advertising before and the store manager has secured that we will no longer shop at Academy again. Pretty sad since we spend thousands at Academy. Our purchase today was over $150.

We got some great help picking out a bike for our 10 yo! Lovely staff, we came between seasons so we couldnt find everything else we were looking for but still like this location

Greeted at the door by a very friendly lady. Staff were available in the sections I needed, and the store was very clean/organized. Gun ammo seems a little low on stock, but overall I give them a 💯 thx Academy!

Has a lot of items but not enough registers open or stuff to help you find what is needed. Just give a lot of grace. ❤️

I worked retail in my life so very patient when it comes to stores and lines, especially during busy days. I am grateful that they that they had a floor manager watching the checkout lines. But when one person worked the counter and 4 other people stared at me and did not help me, I ended up walking out.

After taking all of my personal information denied me the sell. I feel like he stole my personal information. He should of just denied me if thats all he was doing. Why would he wait til I was done submitting my ssn date of birth name and address before he would deny me for a reason before I even decided to make a purchase.

Best prices I have found across the board. I especially love their outdoor section. The more traditional sports selection is solid but not quite as vast.

Went to Academy at 1890 Ranch to buy soccer cleats. The store was generally a wreck. The cleats section was even worse. Nothing was sorted or organized. I opened 6 boxes, one was mis-identified, one was missing a shoe (it was not a display box), two had obviously been worn and returned - with noticeable wear and tear in the heal box and soles - and another pair of brand new shoes had torn laces. I left empty handed and will probably never return.

Finally ! I got a pair of Air Max under $50 🤠

They arent the surplus store anymore. Good variety of products. You have to be willing to look at everything or will get burned on the prices when checking out at the register.

As a customer I was pretty UPSET when 2 of my of the items I selected for purchase rang up Double the price & the sweet young man behind the reg said well it happens & nothing I can do about it Wrong ! One was a blue drybag Priced $5.99 rang up $13.99 the other was a fish soap kit at the register we were on prices $9.99 rang up $19.99. so not a pleasant experience. He said I should let the manager know. No he should. Please price your mechandise correctly

Tried to buy some 22 shells a local man said the had some behind the counter. Went up to count ask for 22 shells. Was told did not have any. Waited around and about 5 minutes later the man behind the counter got some out and sold them to another person. Just like alit of out her places holding the ammo for people they know

....Went in to Academy to buy some underware. Discovered they dont sell em....hmm, who coulda knew?So l spoke to a young man named Wilton in the hunting section and bought a .45 instead......not as comfortable as underware, but it will give me plenty of support!

You would think that of all stores, this particular one in Cedar Park would carry sports equipment for Hockey. Cmon Academy 🤪 step up.

It’s a wonderful Academy store. Super clean. And the employees are very helpful. We went and looked at handguns. The gentleman behind the counter was really knowledgeable.

Was not crowded found what I needed was able to get in and out in a reasonable time. I even took longer. Didnt fill in a rush to get to the checkout the feeling you get youre going to be waiting for an hour didnt have it.

Bought a shotgun. I have a green card so background check takes a few days, but I was not informed by salesperson. Fortunately I have been down that road before, so not surprised. Other than that, the experience was a positive one.

Checkout very slow, baseball equipment depleted. My son and I were looking for pants and shoes and the selection was sparse in both sections. There were no employees around to assist in our search.Resigned to purchasing a basketball and after waiting 15 minutes in a short line (3 customers), the register closed just as the second in line approached the checkout. We were redirected to another register and for unknown reasons, that cashier was very slow to get setup - I ended up walking out with nothing.

Placed an order online for a store pick up and received the order confirmation. When we went to pick up order, we were told it was cancelled due to inventory reservation failure but yet our payment method was charged. Rethink placing any orders online with Academy as there is clearly something wrong that even store management cannot explain.

Over the last few years Ive had a great experiences here with firearms, ammo and camping items. Currently with the still ammo shortage you are able to get ammo if you are willing to wait and show up early although they dont have very specific calibers typically. Mostly stocked with 9mm, .223, and 7.62x51. I have great conversations with the firearms employees and they always seem to be eager to help and friendly.

I had a seriously bad experience with the firearms department today. I asked the young kid to see a firearm, he acted like I was wasting his time. I asked to see a couple of other firearms and again he acted like I was wasting his time. I tried to ask him questions about the firearms and he told me I dont have a clue, I never looked it up. I wasnt asking him how accurate the gun was at a 100 yards, I just wanted to know the mag capacity. I picked out what firearm I wanted and he he ran my background. He said it would take 5 to 30 minutes, but to go look around and he would call me when it was ready. He wrote down my cell phone never. I went and looked around for 20 minutes or so and decided to go grab lunch while waiting. I returned to the department an hour after speaking to the kid. Another associate informed me I was cleared to purchase the firearm. So again the kid dropped the ball and never called me. Ive purchased several firearms and several from Academy and its always been an exciting experience. Today was not. I received horrible customer service by this kid who even started that he was going to watch the superbowl while on shift. Academy, I would have never made this purchase if I had been able to find the gun I wanted elsewhere.

Service isnt amazing but the selection is solid and this place was much larger than I expected. Tons of options in every sporting department you can think of..... Recommended.

My Career as an Academy Sports and Outdoor Worker was by far the worst job anyone could as for. People wonder why no one help customers or is busy in aisles cleaning it up is because the Managers at this location are Not professional instead just horrible, they are Bums (people who don’t deserve a job) who worked they way up at this job that they became a manager without actually developing the skills and professionalism Needed for this job . Continuing why the employees don’t get to help customers during the late part of the day/ evening is that they want to be home on time (on time is the time the store closes) which rarely happens, we usually get out this store 1-3 hours after we are actually supposed to be out. Employees Consider going home on time over customers because this managers don’t have a proper time set to let the employees go it can be whenever after midnight or before midnight, so the employees are geared towards getting out and not helping customers. I believe they should focus on customers first over that but when you are leaving way later then you supposed to you have to sacrifice. The managers are extremely rude (Kevin and Jared), They have their favorites which are the people that sit right under them which they favor. Kevin especially is rude to employees will be greater by one of his co workers and with eye contact and the co worker saying hello or how are you? A couple times he’ll ignore you. He’s a Total Douche bag, This man will call you to the managers office for ever little thing you did wrong or accidentally did and write it down so he can have things against you and he’ll do this until he gets you to quit or get you fired. Even the horrific part is when ever he’s staying the night shift till 5:00am he’ll mention to the employees that have been here since the afternoon or evening that he has no problem keeping them that late and it doesn’t matter to him. This is the work place this isn’t a zoo where you hold animals captive until they die or suffer. This manager should be Reevaluated by HR. If you’re thinking about this job Double think it out and don’t be on a hurry like me and make a mistake and regret it. I’m doing this for my fellow Peers not because I’m anti Academy. It’s just not the ideal job once you get this job and you’ll regret it if you don’t listen to this.Sorry about this to the customers and workers at this Cedar Park academy Location.Have a nice day!

Of all things went looking for a pair of boots to ware in the yard, 2.4 acres, getting real tired of being bitten by chiggers. Found what I was looking for. Good experiance .

Great place. Always clean and orderly. This particular store seems to be going thru a transition as they rearrange and update the store. Still ammo shortages on, well, everything. They do have a small selection of guns. By far the best area it the BBQ section.

Pretty good. Academy in general has gotten a bit ghetto in their products though. I stopped by here looking for some trail running shoes and they didnt really have that.

I like Academy. But I can hardly ever find the shoes I want, in the size I need.

I just bought some Nikes here, I love the prices and also the fishing gear. You can buy a variety of things including work clothing, sports gear, hunting gear, shoes and many other things.

The way they have change the store layout is a bit awkward. Also I was going there for an ankle support brace and they used to have so many options. This last visit the braces were hard to find and they only had two brands and a couple styles unlike they used to have. There used to be a ton of different styles of braces for every body part LOL and they did away with that and theres a lot of wasted space in the upper left quadrant of the store

Ordered a hydration pack online for in store pickup before 7pm CST last night. Received a text shortly after that the pack was ready for pickup. Arrived before the store opened at 9am to pick up hydration pack. Several employees searched for the pickup order for 30 minutes and could not find it. They concluded they were out of stock even though I have a confirmation email stating that the order was ready for pickup (attached).They advised me to buy another hydration pack for double the price. They then made me wait in a line at the store. The cashier then started processing an application for a credit card without my consent.Terrible online order experience. Sticking to Amazon Prime in the future.

Love getting new disc golf supplies here. Just wish they had better organized arrangements. The disc i wanted to buy cost 8 dollars more than the advertised price. Thats no big deal but if someone was on a budget that would have been upsetting for the buyer. Maybe they could put prices on the product its self to avoid future confusion.That being said.... the staff was very helpful as always and super polite.

This is a big box sporting good store with athletic/fitness, camping, hunting, fishing, boating, bbq, firearm, archery, and swim gear. They have large shoe and clothing departments with price points for any budget. My only knock against the place is that checking out takes about twice as long as it should.

The man that helped me with finding the right shoes was great and helpful. Sporting goods dept. could learn something from him.

It’s what you’d expect from any Academy. I do prefer the one in Killeen better however we found everything we were needing at the time. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We get it your not wearing a mask and no one is enforcing it as they dont want to upset their CHUD customers. This place sells ignorance and smug looks apparently so come and get it.

Organized and well priced but why does the checkout process have to take forever? I stood longer in line to checkout then I did picking out shoes for my daughter. Not good!

Found what I needed easy. This is the first time in my life I was in and out within 15 minutes when looking for shoes.

Bought a nice revolver there. Unfortunately you probably wont find ammo for anything but a shotgun here.

Ordered online and picked up the items in store. Nice big store with lots of offerings in every department. Plenty of parking close in. Not very crowded on the day I visited but most Academy stores are popular so I was pleasantly surprised. The store associate pulled my order without any issues and I was out of there within a few short minutes. Great experience.

Total COVID Failure!!! Went in this location and immediately saw multiple customers with no mask on. Went another 50ft in the store and saw another group of people with no mask. I asked an employee who told me that Academy corporate informed each store NOT to turn any one away because of not wearing a mask. I questioned if that was even legal with state and local mandates in place and the employee politely looked at the floor at said Academy cares more about making a sale. I said, they care more about a sale than breaking state law and the safety of their employees and customers? He nodded yes.

Prices, brands, assortment. one of my favorites stores

Very happy and impressed with customer service for our recent online order. Glen called us quickly after our online order was made. They didnt have the orange pop-up canopy in 10X10, but they offered us several different colors and even to upgrade to the 12X12 in orange for the same price. They didnt have to do that, but obviously take care of their customers. Thank you Glen and Academy, we will make sure to come to yall for our sports and outdoor needs! We sure appreciate a company with integrity and compassion and prefer to spend our money there.

Walk-in shopping, items are clearly laid out and easy to find. Store is super clean, and checkout is pretty quick.

Great experience here. Selection is dwindling, but its like that everywhere. I didnt have to wait in line long, fair prices, I wasnt harassed by employees (which happens at some academy stores) restrooms 🚻 were clean. Clean store, very nice greeter.

They have all the perfect items and clothes for being active. Mens and Womens sweat shirts, shorts, cargo pants, t-shirts, tops. They also have workout equipment, golf, tennis, baseball, basketball, football, and other sports equipment. They also have sport shoes for every sport and normal tennis shoes. I highly recommend this place to buy active and sport equipment.

So Im not sure how to go about this, I went in looking for a grill and found one I like, and a better selection than lowes or Home Depot. What they DIDNT have are guns or ammo. I know there is a supply issue and it isnt there fault, but innovative companies find innovative solutions to issues of supply and demand. This market is opportunity and they dont seem to be making the best of it.

Lines were long. Not sure why. They did not have anything I wanted. Had to go elsewhere. Shoe dept had one person. Shoes were out of stock on several I wanted.
