We moved most of our home ourselves, but had a few heavy items left as well as 25 glass display cases that we were needing help with. The movers were fantastic they double wrapped the cases as we asked and carefully moved them out of the basement into the truck drove them 100+ miles. Then drove them up a steep curvy driveway and took them up more stairs. Not one piece of glass broke in the process. I wish I had thought sooner to have them move the entire house contents!

This is hard to rate. Most everything on Blue Lines end was very good. David was professional and answered all my questions. The packers who came were very friendly and packed things very securely. The problems began when our things left the house. First there wasnt enough room on a truck, so we had to wait. When it finally arrived about 10 days later, the guy opened the truck and it looked like a disaster. I could see two of my totes that were completely destroyed right off the bat. Ultimately, we had to throw away three bookshelves, an entertainment center, and there is still a box missing. Filed damage claims, United said I could settle for about half that, OR it would take 6-8 weeks for a full investigation. I expected more from the 5-figure bill I paid. So, Blue Line in Cedar Falls = very good. United/Mayflower as a whole, = very poor.

I recently relocated from Waterloo, Iowa to Des Moines. I contact Blue Line, and requested an estimate for that move. David came right over, walked through my place with me, and, later that day, gave me a quote.His team showed up exactly when they said they would be there, they loaded up my home, taking great care of all of my possessions. Then, here in Des Moines, unloaded very carefully. The entire team was responsive to all of my questions and needs, and were professional and pleasant to work with. I am most pleased with my experience with Blue Line, and reccomend them to any who are soon to be needing moving assistance.

The crew was top notch and great to work with. I moved a 4000SF house about 1300 miles.Carl ( driver) and Julie are excellent and kept me updated throughout. My items arrived quickly and in good shape. The whole experience was great and definitely highly recommend.

We recently had Blue Line move the entire contents of our house from Waterloo to Cedar Falls. This is the second move we’ve done in the past year. The first movers (not Blue Line) wrapped all of our wooden chairs and tables, dressers, etc. in moving blankets for transport, and were very careful with everything. Blue Line did not wrap any of the wooden furniture and several pieces ended up scratched or nicked. Worst of all, as they moved our king sized mattress, they dropped it the mulch in the yard so it got dirty. Then somehow, between loading it in the truck in a vertical position without securing it, and carrying it into our house, the foam layers on the inside of the mattress got separated from the rest of the mattress and are all bunched up on one side. This mattress is now completely unusable! When we disputed this, we were told, “This has never happened before. We’ll have to research this.” A few days later, they simply mailed a check which covers maybe 10% of the replacement cost of this mattress. To top it off, they were cowardly in not even calling back to tell us about what they planned to do. DO NOT USE BLUE LINE, especially if you have anything of value to move!

My momma always said, if you dont have anything good to say, dont say anything at all. Well, I guess that doesnt apply in reviews, especially this one.Basic points to consider if you are wanting to use these guys:1.) These guys are 2 to 3 times more expensive than other movers, so if you want a move that will cost you way more without any added benefits, like making your coffee every morning, then go with them. How do I know? Ive seen there estimates for my move and coworkers moves and compared them to other vendors that my coworkers ultimately used (I wish I would have)2.) Online vendors will likely give you a few months of extra storage after your massive move, but these guys will charge you out the nose if you let them, even after telling them you will need storage and try to get an agreed upon rate.3.) Get everything in writing with these guys. I tried to email David (the son of the owner) to hash out details during my move so I could coordinate the move, but he kept calling and trying to verbally agree to things, and then would alter the paperwork after the fact and add hidden charges.Aside from the cons above, these guys did move my stuff from the Deep South to Iowa...Technically it was United Van Lines that did the move, but thank god they did it through United Van Lines, because once I had to deal with Blue Line moving, it was all a nightmare.To be honest, I have rarely worked with people Id describe as shysters, but Ive never felt more dirty and ripped off than working with this group. In the end, I should have shopped around and used an online company like my coworker did and saved several thousand dollars. Hopefully you do your homework and save yourself a few grand and a lot of headache by avoiding this moving company.

This is posted for a friend that doesnt have the ability to write a review. Today (7/17/17),Dave and Steve worked hard and fast. So incredibly patient and so very careful of all items, even the fishing poles! Beyond pleasant and understanding of our situation. Their promptness and efficiency was spectacular. They deserve a bonus for sure. The price was more than reasonable. Very, very happy with the service and would recommend them in a heartbeat! Great teamwork! When I moved into my condo about 3 years ago, I not only got a great price on some used boxes that I picked up for packing, but the guys were great! They went above and beyond and put together my couch for me that they didn’t have to do! I had a great experience with them and highly recommend them and would absolutely use them again!
